I came in not knowing what I was doing, at all. But, after only the first session with Christian, I left feeling a lot more comfortable with my swing and grip. So glad a friend recommended I take lessons from Christian. I’m a newer golfer but just couldn’t seem to consistently get the ball in the air. While I still have a ways to go, I’m not embarrassed to play with others any more.

I can not express enough how awesome Christian and Mastery Golf are. Last year I was stuck in a rut and my handicap had slipped to around 14 or 15, which is the highest it has been since I was a kid. Due to some injuries and surgeries, I went from a 14 index back in 2017 to 23 at the end of 2024. I had never learned good swing mechanics so I was flailing. I was about to give up the game but decided to give Mastery Golf a try, first.

I started lessons with my instructor, Mark, the last week of May. After about 3 months,, and only 8 or 9 sessions, my index was down to 18. I’m continuing to work with Mark because I still have a long way to go and plenty of room for improvement.

The other thing I’ve really liked is the ability to schedule practice time in one of their bays. The ability to review videos of my swing, while I practice, has been extraordinarily helpful. And, in the middle of summer or a rainy week, I can still practice and work on my game. (Note: I think this option still requires you to buy a package of lessons.)

I’ve been working with Christian for awhile and when I first started I was around a 16 handicap. Within about 5 or 6 lessons over a few months that dropped to a 12. Using Trackman and video analysis helps me see exactly what I’m doing and how even small tweaks can have big impacts. Christian does a great job of explaining what we are doing and how it will change my game and then shows me some practice drills to work on between lessons. That’s huge for me to be able to go out and actually practice with purpose. If you are willing to put in the time to work on what Christian teaches you, you will absolutely improve! I've had four sessions (out of 10) with Christian so far, and his advice has been invaluable to my game. I'm striking the ball with much more consistency, and have seen a major improvement in my chipping/pitching game. While I still have the occasional mis-hits, I know immediately the mistake i've made. Christian does a great job of making minor changes, so that you don't feel like you have an entirely new swing. The key is to practice the small changes to make them a part of your normal muscle memory. I'm looking forward to the next 6 sessions to see if i can really reduce my handicap.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Mastery Golf! Christian was very knowledgeable. I had been playing at a high level( single/plus) until old age(78) and heath issues took away the fun. MGP is the best golf instructor in the area. I went to see Bill for a putting lesson. I have to say it wasn’t overly complicated but it definitely helped me a lot and allowed me to have my lowest 9 hole score in 15 years. A 33!!

He’s now fixed my iron game, my putting game. Now the only thing to help improve is my short game when I miss the green!!

As of this writing, I'm in the first month of a 3 month, 10-lesson program (unlimited practice time included). Working with Christian, who is a patient, calm teacher. He's already given me some good pointers for getting more consistent shots from my driver and irons. The ability to video every aspect of my swing, posture etc. and the Trackman to track shots, are things I'm not sure are available at many places around here. They're not inexpensive but well worth it whether you're a beginner, more advanced player, or like me, an older dude who's gotten rusty and wants to get rid of bad golf habits. Recommended!

I’d taken a handful of lesson with various course pros over three years and never felt like I got too much out of them, at the end of the lesson I would maybe be swinging better but it was always a quick fix that never stuck.

I gained more in the initial swing assessment with Mark than all my other lessons. He asked lots of questions about my current golfing game, any spots I wanted to work on, and my goals for the future. I had my first golf evaluation at MGP. My coach, Christian, was extremely helpful and so patient helping me to understand what all the trackman numbers meant. He addressed each of the issues I've been dealing with and went over a practice routine for me to begin. Visited MGP for the first time for an initial golf swing evaluation. I heard great things about MPG but then got to experience first hand last week. Bill is tremendous, he took time to listen to my view of my game , had we hit a few shots with different clubs and then sat down and gave me his view. I am still new to the game of golf. I started taking lessons last February in Salt Lake City, Utah. I've recently started the 3-month performance plan package with Bill Schmedes. He quickly identified the problem that caused me to consistently hook the ball which I'd struggled with for over a year. He put in place a plan including drills to help eradicate the hook. By the end of the first lesson I was hitting the ball much straighter and had my best round in recent memory the next day. As I've continued working with Bill, I've seen improvement in my short game and my index is coming down for the first time in many months. I just completed a one hour evaluation. It's not inexpensive, however at the time of the eval, the cost would be waived if I signed up for a multi-lesson package.... I am essentially a beginner golfer with 6 pro lessons under my belt. I have serious slice and distance issues. Within the hour, I was drawing the ball with my driver and gained some distance. I could stop the review here because results are what really matter, but I wanted to add that the staff is very down to earth, friendly, non-judgmental and upbeat. Bill, my instructor, spent a lot of time explaining along with using technology to help me connect the dots and understand what I needed to do. He also left me with a few drills to work on so I can make my swing changes more second nature. I enjoyed the lesson, interaction and the results so I signed up for a 10 lesson plan. Started hating golf because I was slicing every shot. What a bummer. I took up golf at age 69 when I retired at the end of 2021. I started lessons at Mastery golf in June. Within a few minutes of observing my swing Bill saw the problems with my swing. He made some suggestions to start me on q path to a good repeatable swing. After several more sessions Bill has helped with rotation, swing path, and club face control. I was hesitant to check this place out...How can an indoor facility really help you learn to play the game? Is all this high tech stuff only good for the Tour pros? Well I got my assessment and have signed up for a series of lessons. The place is first class all the way.
