Moonville Athletic club is quite a solid place to workout.

The owner is a good guy whose customer service is second to none. The rates are competitive with the surrounding areas. The equipment has cosmetic damage/wear and tear, but it all works as it should and I see the owner as someone who would be responsive in repairing equipment if it needs it. The lighting is a bit dim in certain spots of the gym for my personal taste, but it has enough to get the job done. And at the end of the day slightly less light isn't going to stop you from reaching your PR, you are.

All-in-all I like the atmosphere this gym gives off. The owner cares a lot. I like how everyone knows each other since it's a small gym. Everyone is kind if you are kind to them. The equipment works as it should.

i’m not the type of person to usually write reviews but i just love this place. this is the type of gym i’d want to leave a phony bad review on because it is such a hidden gem and don’t want more people to join lol!

overall the equipment is “older” but the owners do an excellent job with up keep replacing worn cables, pads, rewriting the numbers on the worn away stacks, etc…
(i love the “older grungy bodybuilding” vibe it gives) they add new equipment every so often showing that they’re actually reinvesting into the business. the equipment is always clean and sanitary.

the environment here is awesome. they have their busy moments but i’ve yet to meet a person here that wouldn’t let me work in with them or even have a conversation with. people are 99% of the time great about putting their equipment back how it’s supposed to go.

the owners!!!! the father, son, and mother are all very nice people and have always been extremely helpful. whenever i notice a piece of equipment that is acting weird they immediately jump up to see what’s going on and if they can temporarily fix it until they can get a replacement part on there.

24hrs!!!! who doesn’t love the availability to come whenever you want! (don’t be that guy that’s sneaks people in after staff hours without paying)

My friend and I got a day pass just to try out the gym because it seemed like a cool gym with old school, smooth equipment. Sadly we live too far to be able to go during the week, and can't afford to have a second membership here just for the weekends, so I'm writing this review in hopes that it encourages someone else to be able to experience this super cool gym every week. The owner himself is a super nice and fun guy to conversate with; someone you wouldn't mind talking to between sets. What spoke to me the most was about 30 seconds after telling us they've been open for 17 years, he mentioned they were getting a new machine in today. The fact that they've been open for that long, have a consistant amount of clientele, and are still improving the gym, shows that the owner cares about making his gym the best if can be for people to enjoy, and he isn't just there to make money. On top of that, the environment of the gym is top tier. The clientele consists of people who clearly care about bettering themselves, great 80s & 90s rock is constantly playing on the speakers, and the lighting is spectacular; it adds at least 10 pounds of muscle in the way you look. The 2nd most important part of a gym to me is the equipment and it was top tier here. From the actual steel dumbbells, to the old school machines that feel so much better than the cheap commercial stuff they make nowadays, to the endless attachments for the cables; they had everything you could ever need or want in the gym. I can't recommend this gym enough; 1000% the best all around gym in the area, especially for the price relative to these fancy Greenville gyms that have cheap equipment, owners that just want money, and overpopulated gyms.

Amazing gym, community, and owners! Joined while traveling for work and couldn’t have been happier with the decision.

Simple, to the point equipment hitting all the essentials coupled with 24 hour access at an extremely great value. In my 2 months here, I even witnessed how quickly repairs occur if needed when a machine was back up and running within a day!

You will enjoy every workout!! P.S. Pick up one of the protein donuts and microwave it for 30 seconds, they’ll change your life

The culture and the diversity in this gym is what makes it special. Been coming here for 2 years now and man this is where you want to be daily. It’s like home, you see the same people daily and everyone is respectful and motivate each other which again why the culture in this gym makes it special. Everything is free weight so if your looking to get big and find a place where your surroundings are just positive people than this is the place for you . Darrin and Kyle rock!

I'm in town for a business trip, and being the gym rat I am, I was looking for somewhere to lift. I ran across this gym through a random search.

First off, I'll tell you I like the owner. He seems really friendly and is actively working to grow his business.

The gym is exactly what it needs to be. There are plenty of weights, and everything is pretty clean. It's not one of those over the top gyms, so if you're looking for all the unnecessary bells and whistles, then I would suggest seeking out a franchise gym. This has everything I needed, and this is coming from someone who's worked out for 20+ years, and has been a personal trainer for 10 years.

What this gym lacks in modernism, it definitely makes up for it in personality, kindness and family atmosphere! I truly believe that in due time, as membership picks up, newer equipment will be seen coming in!!! Thank you Misty for making a "new comer" feel so at home!!!!

This place is a joke. I have tried to reach the person in charge of signups several times and haven’t heard back. I can only assume it was a member that told me the girl wasn’t there. What kind of place doesn’t have someone on staff at all times. From what I could see the equipment was out of date. I would NOT call that place a gym. Good luck to anyone that tries to get a “membership”. What a joke!!

Nice little gym. Open 24 hrs and quiet. Equipment is a little old but gets the job done none the less. Dance and zoomba stuff are offered right next door if you like that kinda thing.

This is flat out wrong. The rates quoted are absolutely incorrect and the machines are NOT broken. The gym has a loyal following and has hundreds of members. The owners are the nicest, most family oriented people you will EVER meet. Just ask anybody what they think of Bill Wilkins. He has members there that have been going for over 10 years.

Do you really think they are dumb enough to pay money to work out at a place where the equipment is broken and the manager is rude? Really?

But don't take my word for it...stop by and see for yourself. You will be pleasantly surprised. I'm a member since it opened. Great place!
