I have been a member for years! Never had any issues. My 16 year old son is a varsity wrestler and lacrosse player at NMB high. I reached out to the ONLY 2 male personal trainers they offer and was told they are too busy and can’t help me.. NMB Aquatic, why do you ONLY offer 2 male trainers that are not even available but offer 8 female trainers??? I am highly disappointed in this!

If using only the gym, there are many other choices in the area. Rarely have an issue needing to wait for a machine anymore. As long as customer isn't using their phone or talking politics, it's a pleasant workout. Sauna and hot tub always available. Staff is always helpful.

Place is filthy. From the walls to the floor to the equipment. Looks like no one ever cleans. There are dumbbells missing and the self-serve cleaner bottles are consistently empty or paper towel bins empty. I do not expect everything to be spotless all of the time. But it is clear that the filth has been building over time. Staff just sitting around. Does anything ever get cleaned?? Nasty. I use less than 10% of the stuff in there and avoid the pool and sauna at all costs. Just too gross.

We relocated from Sunset Beach to Little River, SC and this center was 10 minutes from our house. It became my home away from home. I would take my daughter with me and drop her off inside the daycare area. She loved it! They were great with her. The workout area was always cleaned. A variety of workout equipment in a large area. The aquatics area had a couple pools, hot tub and sauna. This was a gem of a place.

There are not many "gyms" in the area and this is by far the best option. I have been a part of many gyms in many areas and frankly it's cheap for all they offer.

Any other reviews stating something different aren't familiar with the amount of amenities or the price for those amenities. Even if you just want the equipment which is what we go for, it's the best place in town.

Was here for a meet, and this club held up quite well for those purposes. Plenty of space for a pretty large group. Pool itself was in nice competition shape. Showing its age in a few places (e.g., showers), but not anything too problematic. Suit dryers would be nice.

I really do love this place and it has a ton of potential… great facility and nice people running it. but… this year the pool has been so over chlorinated that I can’t swim in it without making my skin burn for 2-3 weeks after just a single 1 hour session. Last year it completely bleached my swim trunks after about 15 swims. On one hand the staff adds too much chlorine, and on the other hand, the public believes they can just bath in the pool after a workout, or simply just get in without cleaning themselves. Rinsing in the showers is a rule for pools and the rule is posted… however many patrons feel entitled here and would flip their lid if someone actually enforced any of the rules. It’s a vibe issue along with a chemical issue, and if people want to take a dip or play with pool toys it really belongs in the heated recreational pool.

We work with the Aquatic Center every winter! Coastal Scuba Diving Center help people become dive certified year round and during the colder months, we do not use our outdoor dive pool. That's where the Aquatic Center steps in. They allow us to use their indoor pool so we can keep our business going. Thank you Diane and team for always being so helpful and accommodating.

I play wheelchair basketball here with a bunch of guys and we love it here! I don't know what some of the other reviewers mean when they say the staff here is rude or unfriendly, because that is not the experience that I have when I'm here once a week! The staff have always been friendly and helpful to anything that I needed when visiting. I highly recommend spending your time here working out, swimming, or anything else that you want to do here.

No where on their website do they say the waterslide is only for special events. I called and asked questions. I Read every review that mentioned the pool and talked to the staff specifically about the pool and not a single person mentioned that the slide is closed. So we spent 75 dollars for day passes to swim in a over chlorinated pool for a couple of hours. They don't even have a lifeguard on duty for each pool. They had 1 teenager that was only there for part of the time and wandered between the 3 pools.

I've been going here for about 4 years now and I have to say it's amazing. Great equipment that is extremely rarely out of order. Well kept, and very very clean. The staff are amazing and always chipper and so consistent. You get to know them and look forward to their smiling faces in the morning. Just an awesome atmosphere. Child watch is awesome and they make you feel so great about leaving your kids there because you have to convince them to leave. The kids have a blast, they offer a TON of great classes. Average price, but extraordinary bang for the buck.

BEWARE...if you have to freeze your membership because of surgery, you'll jump through hoops!!
I had dates in place, signed and approved. When I returned, the dates had been altered and I was told that I couldn't return without another Dr's note! THAT WAS NOT STATED ORIGINALLY!

I'm taking swimming lessons there. I absolutely love the place. The pools are amazing, the workout looks perfect for my husband and I, it's large and has a lot of equipment. We are contemplating joining, we would love to but they are not signed up under Silver Sneakers. We will probably end up using them as our gym anyways. I wish I could give a higher rating just for the swim instructor Judy who is currently helping my oldest learn to swim. She has been wonderful and an absolute delight I wish I had just signed my youngest up to learn with her instead of what we got.
I originally signed up my other 3 year old son to take swim lessons and knowing his age still put him in the wrong class. We were then told to put him in the younger class and I said that it was fine. They told me the wrong time for the second swim class. So we ended up skipping a week. This week my son was so excited but upon starting the class was COMPLETELY ignored! His little face was lost as to what the other children were doing. I walked over to see why the swim instructor wasn't letting my son participate and he then said he wouldn't force him to get it... but never even tried... never even acknowledged him. I didn't pay money to have my child sit and watch.... shame. I'll wait a while and let him get one on one lessons before I ever attempt this again.

This place has everything! Worst part about this place is that it's not my local gym, lol. The gym has the best machines, tons of cardio equipment and a good amount of free weights. My only gripe would be that they need one or two more benches at the dumbbell rack, but thats not worth knocking off a star. Machines are clean, padding is all intact, cables all move freely. Tons of classes, courts, and a huge pool. The smoothie stand has tons of variety and it's not too expensive (tasty post workout shake for $4)

You could be a novice or elite and you can do everything here fitness wise. Love coming here when I'm in town to see the parents.

I purchased a week pass on 12/19. After purchase I realized the gym was closed on 12/25. I asked for a 1-day extension on my week pass so I could use the gym 7 days OR a 1-day pass to use on 12/26 and was told “no, that’s not how it goes”. I've been coming here for 5 years and their rate is VERY high for what you get. The HVAC ducts are dusty and nasty and have only been cleaned once in my time there, the caked on dust is a concern. They do not know their guests needs. They have an abundance of bikes and treadmills and at their busiest only 10% are in use while only having 2 stair climbers that are always in use. They have never readjusted their equipment based on needs as they misjudged. Finally, their free weight area is TINY and thus, overcrowded. Because it is city funded, no other quality gym will open nearby and this is the best of the worst. People are great but they need to reassess the needs of their guests and do a make over.

I was considering a family membership which costs over a thousand a year. The place is clean which is the only reason why I gave 2 stars. Every thing else sucked the people and the environment was just unwelcoming. I was playing with my daughter in the pool and was told no rough housing. My sons birthday was that day, and loves the pool but I could tell by his nonverbal sreams he wasn't happy.
It's like we were 90 years old and were supposed to be as quit as a mouse and just wade heck no I'm thare to swim and play with my kids also my daughter asked to go into the jacuzzi ans sauna and was told no. Mind you she is almost the same size as me and I allow it. I paid 30 dollars for my horrible experience and will never go again.
