It's a nice, clean gym with friendly staff and all the equipment you might need including deadlifting plates and all sorts of machines, etc.
I'm taking the time to leave this review though because they did an exceptional thing and let members break their contracts when this Goose Creek club became scheduled to close. Which is an awesome, pro-consumer move in my opinion. Hopefully a new location in Goose Creek will work out!

Air conditioning back up and running, plenty of cardio machines; abundance of machines, free weights, and space to get in a great workout every time at O2 in Goose Creek!
And itβs always wonderful to see the friendly faces manning the front desk upon entering the facility - Nicole, Eric, every one of them!
Update - this gym is awfully unreliable opening on time. Caroline during the week and Nicole are always on time, but regular guests cannot be confident in the rest of the crew

Training with Josh has been the best! He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate in fitness. Iβve learned and also have had to relearn many things with him. π His workouts are NOT boring, no two are the same, and donβt expect not to sweat!

I have been coming to O2 fitness for a year. This is such a great place for you to push yourself hard and reach your goal. The staff are very friendly. They always greet you sweetly whenever you come in, and theyβve always been there if you need anything. There are many new and good equipments that you can use for your workout. They also provide you the spray and paper tower to clean up after the workout.
I have been training with Josh for almost three months. He is such an awesome trainer. He is patient and calm. He gives me many nutrient advices and workout tips to make sure I reach my goal. He also motivated me a lot. If you training with him, you will know he always give you hard workouts to make sure you donβt have any energy left when you get out of the gym, but this is great and I love it. I love the feeling when I try my best and work really really hard in the gym and get the result that I want. I enjoy training with Josh so much!

Been at this gym for about a month and have really enjoyed it. Staff along with members are super pleasant. I love how trainers make an effort to learn your name. I have 2 children and I've also been using the kid's club area. It's basically a big room with toys that the kids stay in while you work out, which is great for the extra $10/month to add that to your membership. They have also been taking precautions to limit the spread of covid 19 that make me feel safe. During classes you have a limited amount of people allowed as well as a square that you have to stay in while exercising. You are also required to wear a mask if you aren't actively participating in exercise. Only downside is I wish there was a larger variety of classes to take. Overall I recommend this place to all my friends and think it's great.

Iβve been a member of O2 Fitness for 5 years and have been coming to the Goose Creek location for over 2 years. While the staff has always been friendly and helpful the new updated equipment, structure layout and fixed air conditioning makes it a 5 star experience in addition to the precautions taken during the current pandemic. I feel welcomed and safe here.

I love going to this gym. Brett got me signed up initially, and has been great to work with! She answers any questions that I have, and is an absolute asset to this organization. Every morning that I come in, Caroline is normally at the front desk, with a smile on her face. I really appreciate that she knows that I like to keep my keys at the front desk and she will be ready to take them from me before I ever have to ask. I know I am not the only person that goes to this gym, but the fact that Brett and Caroline remember my name, who I am, and small things about me,a mme feel special and will continue to keep me going to this gym.

Recently I visited the o2 fitness facility in Goose Creek and was happy to find out that there is stiil is a gem here in lowcountry where fitness is still the top priority instead of a catchy new layout design or a place were it seems to be known as a trendy hangout stop. As some of you know the tri-city area has seen some of the normal fitness areas suddenly being lost or reduced from what seems at one point several great locations to now a few sad small series of very little options. In my personal viewpoint once arriving at the Goose Creek location yesterday I was personally glad that this location was not filled to the maximum sized capacity where it seemed to be difficult to walk functionally let alone work on the different parts of the body that you would hoping to do. For those reasons as well as others yesterday for me the opposite happen and made it indeed a great overall experience at the Goose Creek location. Also if she would not mind, I would like thank the lovely lady Brett for answering a few questions I had and also allowing me to have a fun as well as a relaxing time getting into shape.

I have been a member for quite a while, and since management changed over the summer with Kaitlyn and Nikki, the quality of both employees and cleanliness have been outstanding! I always feel welcomed by each and every staff member. I love seeing Nikki every day with a smile on her face and encouragement. I enjoy my dance parties out on the floor with Kaitlyn. And I adore Brett's sweet demeanor. I honestly look forward of going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I believe y'all saved my life!
It is with a sad heart that Kaitlyn is transferring clubs, but I know that we will be in great hands with Nikki, Brett and Eric and rest of staff! And I wish all the success to Kaitlyn on her new adventure!

Lots of areas for improvement. One stair master doesnβt shut off. Known issue by staff. Some treadmills not balanced along with monitors that donβt work. No foot straps on recumbent bikes. No toilet seat covers available. One of my biggest issues is that many clients including staff members and physical therapy personnel seldom wipe down the equipment after use. With the flu season upon us, perhaps more visible signage can be installed as a friendly reminder along with staff members setting a better example.
My wife and I recently returned to this O2 location in order to give it another chance. Not much has changed since my last review; in fact some things have gotten worse. Stair masters still donβt work, foot straps on recumbent bikes are either missing or so tight that they are very hard to adjust (staff has been very accommodating to adjust), one of stationary bikes grinds, and many clients and physical therapy personnel continue to not wipe down equipment. The stations containing paper towels and liquid disinfectant either have spray bottles missing (clients carry them with them to different workout stations) or not working. Many of the handgrips on the bank of equipment closest to the staff offices are damaged and/or peeling off. Clients are wrapping paper towels around the handgrips in the absence of workout gloves. Again the O2 staff is excellent; however the GM needs to get more involved to ensure equipment is properly maintained and drive changes in behavior.

I am not a work out enthusiast by far. I signed up for a personal trainer because I needed accountability and encouragement. Dylan has provided both. In addition, he listens like a psychologist, he puts up with my constant whining and complaining and he never puts up with my excuses. When I think Iβve done all I can do, heβll add more weights or sets. He radiates positivity and seems to be as excited as I am of (eventually) meeting my goals. Did I mention that I hate working out and it puts me in a bad mood? At the end of each session, Dylan has lifted my spirits and has given me hope that I can achieve what I want to. Dylan texts encouragement throughout the day and reminders. He even texted to check on me when I was really sick. Dylan rocks!!!

I started training with Dylan Leggett in august of 2019. I was hesitant about spending the extra money for personal training at first because itβs extra money you feel like could go towards other things but Iβm so glad I did. The personal training has held me accountable and motivated me in ways I knew I wouldnβt be able to do myself. I feel so much more educated on my body and weight lifting. Warning: you will fall in love with working out all over again, just like you did before when you were young and full of energy. I have always been fully committed to only paying $10 a month for a gym membership. So committed, that I only went to the gym TWICE in the three years that I had the membership. Even though O2 is a bit more expensive than I would have liked, it definitely is 100% worth it for me. I used to wake up at 8am, get ready and rush to work to make it by 9am. Now, I am waking up at 4:45am, getting a really nice work out in, and on top of that, doing do in a relaxed manner. I have never been so excited about getting back in shape. And I credit all of that to O2. Yes, it's a bit pricey. Yes, you sign a 24 month contract. And yes, it is TOTALLY worth it. Not to mention that they have a rewards system that challenges you to come in regularly and to get some guidance from a trainer.
And major bonus points to all the staff for being so happy and genuinely excited to see absolutely everyone.

I recently joined this gym despite the negative reviews due to a lack of available choices in the area. I took a positive attitude and was hopeful! So I went Monday after work to walk some laps on the track and boy was I in for a shock! The overwhelming smell of weed and BO from the basketball court OMG! i couldn't believe it!! I noticed on one of my laps around that there is a sign posted "basketball court is for members only". I don't know about that but I do know this. The smell of weed and people who are arguing and cursing one another when they disagree is NOT conducive to anything positive! The only thing pleasant about this place is the staff and trainers.

Let me start by saying-I was NOT a gym person but tried this place with the hope of getting toned and in shape, and so far, I am NOT disappointed. The Goose Creek gym, is a true gym, designed for the person who WANTS to be fit, NOT some posh-posh gym for people who say they are βmembers of a fitness clubβ. They are the largest O2 gym in the low country with an abundant amount of equipment, not once have I ever had to wait on someone to finish using a treadmill, elliptical, weightlifting machine etc., they are always ready and available. They have many unique classes and try to create a true community for their members. I highly recommend contacting Dylan, the new training manager. He has designed a unique habit-forming fitness program specifically designed to utilize the gyms versatile amount of equipment. This program is very effective!! Iβve lost 14 pounds these first 4 weeks!!! I am starting to see muscle tone in my stomach, arms, legs, and chest. I feel more and more confident, healthy and stronger after each training session. This has been the most effective program that I have ever done and it WILL get you into the habit of working out!

I go to this place for the Silver Sneakers Program on Mondays, Wed and Friday and for the last 3 year the air conditioning has not worked in our room and now it doesn't work anywhere in that building,. It is not safe for elderly customers to even think about working out there during the summer months because there is no relief from the heat. They always have a reason for it not working and they have supposedly rebuilt the units but the latest excuse is the fans for the units came in broken. I think enough is enough!
So if you are thinking about coming to this gym in Goose Creek on Saint James ave you better check it out first.
As far as I am concerned it is not a safe environment for SENIORS.
The One Star is for the Instructors who do the classes who are great but you get the same story at the desk about the A/C when you ask..

Hubby goes here and I know personally the AC has been out since April, who knows how much longer since I see other have already complained here. Seems you have no plans to do anything with the AC unit at all , because it certainly doesn't take this long. It's very taxing as he has lung issues and it's so hard to breath in there during the summer months. Why don't you do something about this...it's utterly ridiculous. I do not believe it's even safe to be in your building when the temp rises. I just don't know HOW you have any members left! Please just fix or replace the darn thing period! How about sending your current members some refunds too since they have been suffering thru this.

Update: After speaking with upper management we happy with the outcome of the agreed upon decision.
This place is absolutely HORRIBLE!! The staff spend most of their time socializing together and playing on their phones. The facilityβs ac was broken during the summer. It is so hot we could not workout. Management was rude and would not allow us to get out of our contract even after explaining they did not supply us with the facility we signed up for. Do not get into a contract with this company.

Always dirty. Locker room smells HORRIBLE and always dirty ALWAYS. My flip flop stuck to the carpet in the locker room and it pulled off of my foot (yes, CARPET all over the gym and locker rooms). The A/C has been broke for months. They say it is working now though. Yes the employee also said it is working at only 20%. So I guess technically that does mean it works. A lot of equipment is rusted and workout equipment cushions, pads and grips are torn and ripped. NONE are taken out of service. The gym membership fees are way to high for this poor quality of a gym. I wish the managment would fix or at least attempt to fix the poor quality of this gym or at the very least communicate to its members what, if anything, is being done to remedy the exorbitant amount of issues that this gym currently has. The upper management and I mean only the upper management is respectful and professional. Their employees who greet and clean and interact with customers more often and not very professional, dressed poorly (dirty clothes, stains and holes in clothes, FACIAL PIERCINGS!!!) Rude more than they are polite with cursing and other vulgarity.
Again, to be clear, the upper management has been polite, respectful and professional but they need to reevaluate their employees and their lack of quality employees if thing are going to get fixed at this particular location. I apologize for this review. Ir seems like nothing is being done and our voices (the members) are not being listened to.
We like this gym. We like this location. PLEASE FIX THIS GYM SO WE HAVE A CLEAN, SAFE ENVIRONMENT TO GET BACK TO A FUN QUALITY WORKOUT AGAIN.
Best Regards are meant with this post. Only to get thing on the correct path.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
I have called corporate offices and have left 5 voicemails and NO ONE HAS RESPONDED!!!!!
We pay an annual maintenance fee and we pay WAY TO MUCH per month for this gym.
WHERE DOES OUR MAINTENANCE FEE GO?!?! WHAT IS OUR MAINTENANCE FEE USED TO MAINTAIN?!?!?! Equipment is BROKE, RUSTED, TORN, ETC.. THE HEAT OF THE SUMMER AND NO AIR CONDITIONING, STILL NO COLD WATER.
WHAT DOES OUR MAINTENANCE FEE MAINTAIN AND WHO CONTROLS THIS?!
O2 SHOULD DO THE RIGHT, CORRECT, MORAL, RESPECTFUL AND PROFESSIONAL THING!! GIVE ITS GOOSE CREEK MEMBERS A BREAK ON OUR MONTHLY FEE FOR A FEW MONTHS. RETURN OUR MAINTENANCE FEE THAT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT BEING USED!!!!!!!!!!
FYI. I DO HAVE AN E-MAIL TYPED TO REPORT THIS TO THE BBB (BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU). I AM HOPFUL THE CORPORATE OFFICE OF O2 CAN FIX THIS ENTIRE SITUATION AND "MAKE IT UP" TTO THEIR MEMBERS.

You will definitely lose weight at this gym. You wonβt even have to workout - just stand in the gym and the pounds will pour off of you as you sweat profusely!! The A/C has been broken for months with absolutely no hope of it being fixed. Weβve called management but continue to get the run around. The staff is great but I don't know how they spend all day in there. It's so hot in the building and both of the water fountains put out hot water. Hopefully they get everything fixed before July/August.

My wife and I have been members for a couple years now and are regulars. The streetlights have been burned out in the parking lot for several months and the building owners will not fix them. This is extremely unsafe for a number of reasons. Folks are forced to traverse the parking lot at night in the dark. The air conditioning has also been broken for months, with outside temps well over 100 degrees last week 5 days in a row. This pushed the gyms internal temp to the mid 90's which is absolutely unsafe and unsanitary. We have all been told we're sorry we're working on quotes, and word from corporate. This has happened the last several years and enough is enough. The members deserve more than that. Many of us have left, and are not coming back. I urge you to research before you make a decision on a gym, there are other gyms in the area that care about their members more than 02 Fitness.

Itβs HOT!! Air conditioner has been out for over a month. Nothing but excuses to have it fixed. They havenβt even put in portable AC units. Ladies locker room smells awful. Most equipment is older and some machines donβt work.

POORLY MANAGED GYM!!! Iβve been a member for 5 years and the equipment is old and needs to be replaced. The gym is dirty and not kept up especially the restrooms which are terrible! The AC has been out for months and now we are in a major heatwave. O2 owes all the members for not being able to go to their gym because itβs 90 degrees inside!! To top it off the management does not care!! This gym is poorly managed and the owner should be reimbursing members for NO AC!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM!!

4th summer in a row the AC doesn't work. Over 90 degrees in the gym already. It's not the staff's fault, definately corporates. Note to corporate, it will be cheaper to replace the AC now then the lawsuit will be when someone falls out due to heat because of the negligence provided by the company. The gym is falling apart literally and GM is doing what he can, but corporate does not care about this gym. When O2 bough ESAC the patrons were told they were about to put a lot of money into renovations to the facility. They painted the walls and got rode of a few things out in what is not the free weight area. One of O2 fitness' biggest facilities and they put zero money into it. Highly advise going elsewhere. Many of the members that have been going for years have already started moving to other gyms because of the heat. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars and not 1 is because the staff is awesome but have been directed by company seniors to lie about the conditions of the facility.

Ridiculous fees and old equipment not maintained. Charged me $49 in January for gym maintenance fees. The monthly fees are so high and you get very little for your money. My Friend tried to cancel and it was a nightmare. They do not have many classes to offer and the equipment is very old and I don't see them cleaning it.

I have been a member at this location for about 5 years with no bad issues with any staff until Kylee came here.Shes a front desk employee thatβs very disrespectful and has a very bad habit with her facial expressions.I have reported her before to management but obviously there was nothing done because her attitude has seem to gotten worse.I will be canceling my membership with management personally on Monday.

UPDATE: July 27, 2018
After my review of this facility, management responded by stating they would like to discuss conditions with me and supplied an e-mail address. I had written back and explained that I'd like to talk with someone and provided my phone number. A couple of weeks have gone by and still no phone call from O2 management. Very poor customer service. Facilities continue to erode and STILL no AC. 2 star rating now reduced to 1 star.
Not too many options in my immediate area. If there were, I would certainly go elsewhere. The gym is typically dirty, have older machines that need maintenance and the air conditioning doesn't work in half of the gym. Tried contacting corporate office to see if anything can be done to correct this, but they won't return calls or emails. The monthly fee is over $50/month. I'm sorry, but if you are going to charge that much you should have very good amenities. I joined a few year as ago, so my fees aren't that high.
7/16/18 Update. Received reply from 02 regarding review. I have reached out asking for a phone call.

I went to this gym as a guest and was turned around because I wanted to play basketball... Whether you are using the court or the machines, itβs all the same thing your engaging in an exercise. If Iβm giving you the fee for being a guest and I have ID and guest ARE ALLOWED the gym indeed should be to use freely.. I donβt know what that was about but I was looking into getting a membership here with a few buddies of mine but Iβm not going to pay that amount of money and be treated that way, denying a customer isnβt the way to get someone to join your gym. Staff handled the situation all wrong & I feel like I was discriminated against and didnβt get any reason to why you can use the equipment but not allowed on the court..

I would like to give this gym a higher rating, it is in a convenient location,
has a large variety of equipment. The staff is incredibly friendly and hard working. There are a lot of activities to pick from.
I have been a member of this location since it first opened and has changed ownership several times.
IT IS UNBEARABLY HOT FOR MOST OF THE WARMER MONTHS.
The air conditioning works for a day or so, then breaks. I wont be surprised if they end up in a lawsuit soon, I have been told that some of the older members, some with heart conditions and health issues, have had to lie down after almost passing out and getting nauseated from working out in the heat. Climate control is one of the motivators and necessities when joining a gym, and some are paying as much as $49 a month. Sad when it feels hotter and more humid inside the gym than outside.
Today it was 83 degrees inside this gym, and 75 outside.

The gym is spaceous, they have a lot of equipment, the treadmills are very good, and the staff is friendly, but it's not perfect. The showers feel somewhat grimy, the sauna isn't great, and many of the weights aren't organized. For the $44 a month I pay it's worth it, but any more than that and I would look into other gyms.

Massive globo gym. You are going to pay for all of that space. If you are the kind of person who will use it, then it is the only game in the area. Most people don[t need all of that and would be better served by a smaller gym for 1/3 the cost.

This Gym r far from perfect! I don't know why other people complain about lil stuff but they have everything here. In regards to contract you just need to read it and everything else written in big letters so you won't missed a thing. If you don't want auto renewal then don't. I don't see any additional fees that some people complain about. I came from big cities like LA and las vegas and I like this Gym better than any. Kami is the best person you can talk to and she will explain every single questions you may have.

I trusted the guy that signed us up. 1st mistake. He said no set contract, he told me you can read this but all it says is you agree to have a certain amount of money deducted out of your account. I told him I did not want a contract for any longer than a month. He said no problem. So we did not use it and decided to cancel. Well then we find d out we should have read it because he lied to me. There was a year contract. Was I made. Yes I was. So we were talking g to this manager when Pete the vacuum cleaner guy gets involved and started harassing g us. Called me old lady, told me to learn how to read. Threatened to call cops on us. We'll needless to say, I guess the moral of this story is don't trust anyone they are only looking to line their pockets with commissions.

O2 Fitness is not fixing equipment that is broke for months. Cables on the Cable machines are constantly broke for months at a time. Why? Upgrade to better cables. Have dedicated personnel to fix these cables immediately when they are broke. Locker rooms and shower areas are always filthy. This gym could be a nice gym, but no different than when it was ESAC. And every summer the Air Conditioning is broke at some point. The location is why I continue to keep working out here. Keep hearing it will get better with O2 Fitness now owning it. It's not that difficult to maintain some of these minor broken pieces of equipment or to have clean showers and locker rooms for your members.

Husband and I just joined this month. The main reason we chose to go to ESAC (now O2) was the childcare and price. There are definitely things that could be updated but for the most part we love it. I love that there is a ladies only room. I wish that I could see through the windows to look at the kids in the childcare area tho. Everything is fairly clean.

Compared to the other ESAC locations this one is one of the largest. The cardio and machine equipment are in good repair. Staff is very friendly. The free weight area is pretty sorry. Flat benches are worn out, duct taped, nasty. ESAC seems to build to the demographic. Go the location off of Long Point In Mt Pleasant and you will see where your $39 improvement fees go to. That place is awesome

I have been a member at ESAC for over a year. I get access to all their clubs for $32/month, which is a great value. Because I am past contract, my wife and I are both month-to-month. The Goose Creek location has the highest grade equipment of the locations I've visited, with several sets of Nautilus plated machines, lots of cable gear, cardio equipment, and high-quality nautilus free-weight equipment. There's even a full basketball court, and they just added a crossfit room.
All the classes are free, which is great. The classes are also best at this location IMO.
For me, the kicker is the indoor track, astro-turf, push-sled, and tractor tires: This stuff is great for performance and agility training. I like to run 5k's and it's nice to be able to finish a leg day with a 1/2 mile or get out of the heat during the summer, as well as the option to to footwork.
I do my chest day at Goose Creek every week even though I live further away now. The benches at the Summerville gym seem cheap, narrow and unsupportive to me compared to the nice standard Nautilus ones in Goose Creek.
OK, SO. HYGIENE FREAKS: The main areas of the gym are clean and well-kept. The locker rooms are ANOTHER STORY. The formica countertops in the guys bathroom are water-rotted and falling apart, the sauna doesnt work, the showers are kinda moldy and gross, and its smells pretty rank in there. I don't personally use the showers, and have no problem with a sweat gym, so this doesn't bother me or affect my opinion whatsoever. I just use the lockers to keep my stuff locked up and change sometimes.
Can't testify to the girls locker rooms, but I think I remember my wife saying they were in similar condition.
One of the greatest things about this gym is that you don't feel claustrophobic and cramped in there. It's HUGE and there's lots of floorspace. Unless you're there during rush hour, (and even then you can find a remote corner) you should have a sense of personal space.
Two thumbs up, overall.

Cleaning and maintenance leave a lot to be desired at the Goose Creek location. The ONLY reason I go there is because it's around the corner from work. Unfortunately, I have to shower and change in the dirty facilities. I belong to another gym also and use that gym as much as I can and only use this one when I really need to. I don't think the remodel will help much and it's taking FOREVER. They started the end of summer and it's already December and still not done. WOW!
