Sound bath meditation was an absolute torture. No ambiance, no care to close the blinds etc, the music was REALLY loud, people come to relax not to hurt their ears. I have been to many sound baths meditations in the past and the Yogi really knew what they were doing unlike here, where she was simply making noises in a pattern and that’s it. It was a total waste of time and really uncomfortable. Am sorry but it was horrible.

I signed up online and registered for a virtual class. I couldn't figure out how to attend, so I called the day of. I hadn't received any confirmation emails for any of the virtual classes I signed up for, and they told me it was because of my settings. I've never changed my settings, which means the default settings weren't correct, but they acted like it was my problem.

Overall, my experience here has felt non-inclusive and not welcoming. I bought the month trial pass and went three times in one week - all were bad experiences, two were because of the teachers. The first time was a small class and the instructor clearly knew everyone other than me. At the end of class the teacher apologize because she had to "slow down the class because of new people." That was at me; I was the new person.

The second class a young woman told me not to feel intimidated by the class and just keep working on it. I responded that I had to take some time off from yoga because of chronic pain and was just getting back into it. Her face looked like I'd taking the lord's name in vain while giving a Sunday sermon and she beelined it away from me.

The third class, the teacher at some point said, "I don't care," which even in context came off as uncaring and inappropriate. As a teacher, you should care; you should care about the students, if they are in proper form, if they know modifications if they need it, etc. Plus, the room was packed and some men hadn't lined up their mats with the little symbols and it was hard to find a place to put my mat. It wasn't a hot yoga class and the teacher turned on the fan for a moment and then turned it off. It was claustrophobic and felt like I was suffocating. Not to mention, the lack of airflow was making me choke on the dank smell of the old man I had to put my mat next to because of the others who weren't lined up.

Furthermore, I've done yoga from New York to California and places in between and in other countries, and the some yoga positions are only done here, which has been acknowledge that other yoga studios in this area, but here it felt like I was expected to know things not commonly taught outside of this area. Also, I thought it was great that they give space for handstands, crow and other "flying" moves, but they gave zero cues on how to get into them. Maybe that's a special class I have to take, but it's not clear which class that would be, nor do they promote how you'd learn and grow those positions at this studio.

Finally, there was very little different in the moves used between the different class styles. All three classes I attended were labeled differently, but the moves and flow were incredibly similar. Again, this is very different from my experience at other yoga studio around the country and world. I get having specific classes be similar to give students familiarity, but I'm use to different teachers or classes switching things up from the other classes. That way students can pick the style they like and have opportunities to challenge themselves if they want to. How are people not getting bored when there's so little variation?

I started practicing at Om as a 40-year-old man searching for a way to stretch and recover from injury. What I found was a community of friends, physical transformation, and a new mindset.

The variety of classes and instructors produced better physical results than all the running, weightlifting, and triathlons I have done over the last 20 years. Once you let go of the man-pride, this place allows you to take down emotional walls and achieve spiritual growth.

I've been to three classes now at Om and experienced three different instructors. ALL WERE AMAZING. As a yoga instructor (ERYT500 & YACEP) myself since 2008, I love finding a studio where I feel expertly led and challenged while being offered the grace and modifications to listen to my own body in the moment.

Stopped in for a class with Rachel using ClassPass, and she was amazing! I loved her energy and how comfortable she makes everyone feel no matter what level they are at. Her voice is a dream, and she reminds you not to take yourself too seriously, and to just focus on loving yourself and moving with intention. I walked out feeling amazing. I’ll definitely try to come back when I’m in the area again. Thanks so much :)

Came for the deep stretch class on a Sunday evening. Really enjoyed the flow and the atmosphere. Both the instructor and front desk person were incredibly friendly and personal and I felt welcomed as first time client. Plenty of modifications for those that needed them as well as the opportunity to silently signal the instructor if you wanted hands on assistance with some of the forms or if you would prefer not to be touched. Special bonus were the chilled lavender towels at the end, they were an incredible way to end a hot class. Most likely will return for another class!

TL/DR: Went using a free class included with my wife's class pass. Woman at the front said we are good to go, but I guess did it wrong. Class was fine, but the manager called the next morning and aggressively demanded payment.

Went to a hot yoga class here with my wife using class pass. She had a free pass for me with her account, so we didn't bother using my own class pass account. We spoke with the person at the front (who was very nice) and she said it we were good to go and that I didn't need to sign up myself.

The class was OK. The instructor was good, but the room was only about 85-90F so not very hot. Overall decent experience, and we would have possibly come back until the next morning.....

Someone who I can only assume is the manager or owner calls me up first thing in the morning, demanding that I pay for the class I took the evening before. I explained that my wife had class pass and brought me as a guest. She says the person at the front did it wrong, and I was supposed to sign up myself. And because of that, she is rightfully owed for the class.

I told her that I had a class pass account and would have used it, but the person at the front said it wasn't necessary, so since I had already paid for class pass, I wasn't going to pay for it twice. She did not like this answer and accused me of basically "stealing" because her employee wasn't told how to handle class pass.

So essentially, because her employee didn't know how class pass worked, it is my fault, and I owe them money?

I haven't had a customer experience this bad in ages.

I moved from Florida to SC and soon started to look for an yoga studio. In Florida I was practicing yoga regularly but at a gym. I got a good basics but wanted to improve and learn more. I was so right to come to this studio. So much more knowledge, structure, advance (if you want) to improve your practice.
Not only awesome and friendly environment but instructors are knowledgeable - (different styles and different ways of teaching -I tried them all!!:) They also give alternative poses to people that can’t or don’t want to try some poses , always watching and helping.
I really like OM! Maria and her staff are super friendly too!

I only took a couple of classes here because I was moving; however I HIGHLY recommend this studio.

I purchased the $25 new student package; $25 for 2 weeks unlimited classes. It was so worth the price, especially because it fit in with my schedule of being in town for 10 days!

The studio is very nice, and the location is convenient. I took class with Rodolfo and Tammy, and they are the best. The class size is small, which is great, and they will either give you attention/assistance, or they will let you practice on your own- whatever you prefer.

While I wasn't new to yoga, I hadn't been in the practice for a long time, but this studio sparked my interest again! I can't wait to find a studio where I move, but I will miss this one already! Again, I cannot recommend more highly!

I've been practicing at Om Yoga for 5+ years and I can whole-heartedly recommend Om to anyone looking for a local yoga studio in the Fort Mill area. Maria has built an incredible community of knowledgeable, welcoming, and supportive teachers and students. As soon as you walk into the studio, you can feel the positive energy. Om Yoga offers a wide variety of classes and workshops that are suitable for students of all experience levels. I recently completed Om's 200hr Yoga Teacher Training program which was a wonderful experience; the YTT program was well-organized and offered a challenging curriculum with a good balance of practical and theoretical material. If you're looking for a yoga studio where you can learn and grow in a positive and welcoming environment, Om Yoga is the place! So grateful to have this wonderful studio in my community!

Had a great first experience at OM Yoga. I dropped in on a $9 Happy Hour class which is for all levels. Erna was the instructor and she did a great job with verbal cues which are important when you're twisted or upside down and can't see the instructor. The class was close to full but the other students were very welcoming and accommodating and didn't mind moving over a bit to give me space. The class was challenging in a good way and Erna offered modifications when needed. Near the end of the class we were all given cold lavendar towels to place on our eyes or necks to cool down during savasana. I brought my own mat but there were blankets, blocks, and straps available to use. Overall it was a great experience and I'll be happy to return.

I have been going to Om Yoga on and off for about 3 years. I surprised myself when I was able to survive the 21 Day Challenge, attending class 21 out of 31 days in March! My reward to myself was buying a year of unlimited classes. The teachers are all very knowledgable and patient. The music is fun, the classes are challenging and the students don't judge each other. I've dragged many friends and family along with me to classes because I believe in the practice. i'm not much for writing reviews, even though i read a lot of them, but i just had to for this place because someone can get really hurt. i took the class slow flow. in the description it says that it is a SLOW class IDEAL for BEGINNERS. which is a complete LIE!!!! that class was neither. it was fast paced, intermediate to advance and did i say FAST! i have taken many dance classes, including ballet, and i know how to stretch properly without hurting myself. i also took this amazing intro to yoga class in Cali that was an actual class, with an amazing teacher, who showed her students how to do thing properly without hurting yourself. and because it has been a very long time since then, i wanted to start getting back into yoga. i didn't want, nor do i want, a "class" that is basically watching tv and listening to someone give fast paced commands. AND this was exactly what this slow flow class was. when i came in the receptionist was really nice!!! so sweet! she brought me into the studio and told the teacher i was new. there was a space in the middle where the receptionist told me to put my mat. which was great because I though i would be able to see the teacher better. the teacher then told another student to move their mat to the empty spot and then the teacher, she moved my mat all way to the back line, in the corner. which in the end is not a big deal as long as you know, i'm learning. then the teacher started. she started fast right off the bat. for the entire class she probably only did about 3 posses, for about 3 seconds, then walked around, talking fast, for the rest. she corrected two people that i saw, never me. i placed my feet incorrectly on purpose once, just to see if she would correct me when she was near by, but she didn't. i know this is long but if you have absolutely NO IDEA ABOUT YOGA, OR STRETCHING... DO NOT TAKE THIS CALLS! you can get hurt if you don't know what you are doing. she goes fast, does not show you how to pose, only talks like a fast playing tape recorder, does not show you how to properly place your body, nor inform you how to modify the advanced moves so that beginner can do them and not HURT THEMSELVES!!! nor does she correct you or.... GO SLOW!!!!! if you know what you are doing, are intermediate to advanced level of yoga... you will probably like it but i'm writing this review because that class is not as advertised. if you say you are a class for beginners... be for beginners and if you say you are a slow speed class.... BE SLOW!!! if yoga is not done properly, correctly, people can hurt themselves very badly and in this class, it is extremely likely someone will. (and this is another thing about the class though it is not a deal breaker, just subjective... in the middle of the class she turns the fans on for cooling. yoga you want the room temp or heat environment so ones breath can deepen and widen, plus if you are sweeting... a lot, you don't want a cooling system on you because you can get sick!) in the end, very nice receptionist, very nice studio... horrible class for beginners and absolutely horrible in the slow speed department but in a likely hood of getting hurt... high marks! (this class was like watching a video at a high speed, advanced moves; and if your into that, save the money and do it online.)

Excellent!!!! I have taken private yoga classes for over 6 months with Maria and they and she are wonderful. I suffer from a bad lower back from 30 years in the military and taking classes here have helped me tremendously. Everything about OM Yoga is top notch, from the instructors to the facilities and even the mood setting music they play, all result in really fun and relaxing yoga session. I highly recommend OM Yoga for both private and group sessions.

Om Yoga is the real deal. The students are like minded and genuinely interested in the transformative benefits of yoga so the level of commitment and energy is present in every class. And the teachers are earnest and intentional, striving to offer the benefits the students are seeking. The culture all starts with Maria and her leadership. Great and welcoming place to practice for both the beginning and the experienced student.

Om Yoga is a wonderful studio which I highly recommend to students of all levels. My yoga practice has grown immensely through the instruction of the teachers at Om. Maria, the owner, keeps the studio pristine and inviting.

This little studio has quietly become one of the best in Charlotte. I have been practicing for several years, and bounced around through most of the studios. After visiting Om Yoga for awhile, it has now become my home studio. The best thing i can say about this place, compared to others, is that my practice has really grown there. Most of the classes have a little section where you try something new, a more advanced pose like headstand or an arm balance. As a result, my practice has grown tremendously since settling in at Om. The owner, Maria, is the heart and soul of the studio and sets a fun, welcoming vibe. If you are visiting, try to hit one of her classes, you will have fun and her playlists are the best. She only hires experienced teachers, so all the other teachers are great as well. A nice balance of classes from beginner to advanced (try Buffy's class if you just want your cardio fix/butt kicked). Om is great, check it out.

Om Yoga studio is exactly what I love to walk into when I practice. Maria, the owner and all of the teachers and staff at Om Yoga, are full of positive energy. The studio is incredibly clean, simple and bright with all the amenities and more. I have been practicing for over 10 years now and recently moved to NC/SC from California and thought it would be hard to find a place to match up to my home studio, but I was wrong. Om Yoga is absolutely wonderful for beginners and those who have been practicing for a while. There is always a good challenging class, but you can make that same class custom to what you are feeling, that's yoga for ya :) There is not a competitive vibe there at all, just people who are there to practice their practice and learn. Hope to see you there!!

There's something about being in a class at this place that triggers something within me. It's more than just a fitness routine. It's a connection to myself, to the teachers, and to the other people that call OM yoga home. I feel engaged mentally, physically, and spiritually each time, and feel a part of something bigger than myself. It such a warm place with the best kind of vibe. It may not be in the middle of a big city, but this is the best yoga studio I have been to anywhere. Try it!

I love Om Yoga! When I started taking classes there I had just relocated to Fort Mill. I was pregnant and really enjoyed the prenatal classes. After having my baby I went back and started taking power yoga and hot yoga classes. Their yoga classes really helped me get back in shape after the baby was born. The teachers are very helpful in assisting the students in class and I definitely recommend this studio to anyone who wants to be challenged and have fun while working out! The studio is always clean and the staff is very welcoming. I always leave feeling great every time I practice at there. I have tried a few others, but this is by far the best studio I've been to.
