Nasty unchristian enrollment manager, constantly harassing us, after 12 ish free showers, as we have no running water or electricity, due to big storm.

I am not a member of this facility, but my daughter has been going to their after school and summer camp programs. They are amazing! The scholarships they offer are a lifesaver, especially for single mothers not receiving any financial assistance from the other parent or any other government assistance. I love that they take the time to do devotions with the children and that it's Christian based. The teachers are amazing, especially Ms. Ally. My daughter has thrived so much being a part of their program!

The reason for my 3 stars is because as of lately this YMCA location has been forcing more religion at the gym. From religious music to prayer brunches. Gyms need to be neutral. Play neutral music for anyone who is not a religious person. You are supposed to welcome all religions and it does not feel like that. I feel like I'm coming to church everytime I come here. If I'm on the treadmill I dont want to hear religious music while I workout. Please stop doing this and welcome all people. Even the yoga practices principles of Christianity. Stop ✋️

I usually enjoy going to this facility. The staff two days ago has left me feeling confused about the rules. Every time I go to swim with guests the rules change from staff member to staff member. The life guards were divided among themselves on the rules. One life guard was lovely to us. The other one was not very nice to one of my nephews. This particular life guard didn't appear to be helping her coworker lift a heavy floatation device into the water. My nephew was excited to jump off said flotation device like he did before, but the rules apparently changed from a month ago to now.
He was told he couldn't jump off in certain ways and that made the trip even more difficult. The inconsistent pool rules every time I come is confusing and needs to stop. I hope something can be done to help clients/members better understand the rules moving forward. I even called regarding rules on guests and was told one thing on the phone only to arrive at the facility and it is something completely different hours later after calling. If I don't know the rules as a member, then neither do the staff.

This Y has a definite family feel. The staff cares about you even after you leave. If you don't show up for a while they check up on you to make sure you are OK. They make you feel like you are not on your health journey alone.

It is a great gym with wonderful staff. I love the group fitness classes. My only complaint is I wish they had automatic door openers on the restroom doors . It is very difficult to get into the restrooms with a walker.

Wonderful place, good for the whole family. Clean facility and friendly staff. I love this place. They do a lot of good for the community. My only suggestion would be if the music volume in the group wellness classes could be set at a reasonable higher limit. It varies a lot between instructors and sometimes it seems a bit unhealthily high and potentially damaging to hearing.

The management and workers are bunch of two face people. Had an arrangement with the management there that we get paid on Thursday and Friday to run payment then and they agreed to it. But instead they ran the payments on Tuesday so if funds not there at the time once you have certain amount of a decline regardless of any agreement they terminate the membership even though they rerun payment on payday and get there payment and the manager that runs the after school program said that they can’t do nothing and has ended the membership. This is not customer service and we rely on this due to work schedules. They don’t care though. I hope they go through a hardship where they miss or pay a day later and loose it. Now either my wife or I will loose our job cause we have no other option for child care.

My vehicle has been hit twice in their parking lot. The second time they had the lady's picture on camera, but wouldn't give her name to the Highway Patrol. She is a member and left the scene of an accident, after telling a witness she was going to look for the owner. Then she took off. Low class. Real cool to treat people like that who have sponsored soccer teams for many children to enjoy.

Got turned around at the door because they don’t do day passes. Powdersville Y said this too. What sense does this make? How do you expect people to check out your gym and see if they like it? Not to mention my case where I’m home for holidays. I think “You have to be with a member” is a sorry answer. I think “We’re being careful because of covid” is a sorry answer for things like this. Another typical upstate SC YMCA with bogus policies and unrealistic expectations. .........from this point forward is my response to the owner comment...I see your generic answer that has no basis to true customer service. You say you put your members first, but you treat potential members like this. You should be marketing to attract new members, unless of course all you want to impress is existing members. I’m a potential member that you just lost! I also challenge you to call all the gyms in the upstate SC area and find me another one that doesn’t allow guests to pay for a day pass. I dare you to find one. I’ll wait....... you can’t find it! It simply bad business. I travel for a living and use day passes a lot. Your policy disables for people like me. Working class people don’t have time to hunt down a member and tag along, especially travelers like myself! Venice Florida Ymca allows 3 visits a year and then $10 per visit after that. You can’t do people like this and expect decent reviews. It’s simply bad business! My mother and my wife who is here most of the time were going to join, which is one of the reasons I came was to get info. Don’t worry about it now!

Very comfortable atmosphere , friendliness from the moment you enter the doors. Amazing new pool, which is heated. Nice clean workout stations , treadmills, ellipticals, stair climber, stationary exercise bikes, etc... also has day care for kids 8 and under while you workout. Along with many options to better yourself, with uplifting staff getting fit is so much enjoyable. 🤗. They have much to offer even summer camp for kids and young adults. Pickens YMCA is a fabulous place to join and be part of more than a work out

I had a birthday party here this past weekend on Saturday and it was horrible. Never again will I pay $100 dollars to be rushed for 2 short hours. When we got there the kid that was working didn't seem friendly. I don't even know his name, he didn't tell me. He didn't introduce himself and I seen him help my friend with one table cloth. Other then that he stood there making it feel really uncomfortable. Before my guest could even get there, literlly at 2 on the dot he kept on asking me if everyone was here. It JUST turned 2 oclock if that and only TWO of my guest were there. He was trying to rush us to the pool. And then when we did go to leave the party room and walk to the pool THE GUY WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. HE LEFT US! We literally stood there bc we didn't know where to go. We walked up and down the hallway before a guest had to ask the boy who was cleaning at the front to please tell us where the pool was. When he told us where to go and we finally got to the pool the kid was in there just standing. Some of my guest had stopped to use the bathroom while walking through to the pool and when he asked if this was everyone I told him no people are In the bathroom and he kept on asking if everyone was there, Again Rushing us. When he was telling us the pool rules he has his head turned away from everyone the whole time and we could barely hear a word he said. And it seemed like he didn't even know what he was talking about. One guest said she seen him reading the rules off of a board that was hung up that said "pool rules" we could have read that ourselves. Explains why he had his head turned away. The pool was FREEZING and I would figure that for 100$ we would have a little privacy in the pool? I was trying to keep up with my party and there was all these people just swimming around with us, literally IN BETWEEN US LIKE THEY KNEW US. Very uncomfortable and weird. And all of us stayed in one specific part of the big pool all together and we still had starangers swimming us? After the pool we went back to the party room and near the end 20 MINUTES BEFORE 4 the guy asked me very rudely if we were ready to start packing up. 20 minutes, my guest were still eating food and cake. And I had to get my brother to stop eating and to start packing up and taking everything out to my car. Again RUSHING US. And when my guest seen my brother start to pack up they quit eating and was getting ready to leave. Bc i was RUSHED and bc my guest seen us cleaning up and felt obligated to leave I forgot all about my party favor bags I made and spent tons of money on and forgot to give them out to the kids that were there. AND 2 hours is not long enough at all for a birthday party. Especially when you have to give guest a talk about rules, and have them do "swim test" and then take the time to put life jacket vest on every kid at the party! The YMCA needs to do better with the time frame they give for a party and they need to choose wisely the employees they pick to "help with the party's" HORRIBLE experience and I am upset that EVERYONE at my daughters party said how bad the party was going. That is not how a patry should be and guest should not leave a party saying bad things about the party.
