Ashley received her Pilates certification in 2001 in Northern California from Mercy Sidbury, a student of Eve Gentry. She has studied Pilates with Kathy Grant, Pat Guyton, Madeline Black, Marie Jose Blom and Elizabeth Larkham. Ashley also studied anatomy and kinesiology with Jean-Claude West, Paul Grilley, and Tom Myers. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and certified Thai Bodywork practitioner.
Fascial health and neuromuscular adaptation is paramount for me so my training style with clients is slow and precise. In doing so, proper patterns are created to last a lifetime and prevent injuries. "I want my clients to feel what they are doing to create autonomy with their bodies."

Ashley is incredible. She is so knowledgeable and understands body mechanics so well. She developed a training plan just for me that helped me to strengthen my core and relieve my back pain. Not only that, the exercises helped increase my range of mobility. I've always had a really tight back and hamstrings. I was never able to touch my toes until I worked with her.
Ashley gets to know her clients' needs so well, that it's no wonder that she has so many clients that have been going to her for years. On top of that, she's always learning and educating herself so that she can better serve her clients. I highly recommend her and honestly, I wouldn't go to anyone else.

Ashley is extremely knowledgeable and is able to easily adapt movements to accommodate specific mobility limitations. Her patience and creativity seem limitless, and I am much stronger after having worked with her. The advantage of one-on-one instruction cannot be overstated.

Great one-on-one experience. This instructor pays close attention to your needs and abilities. Each session focuses on a different set of core building exercises according to your requests. Nothing “cookie cutter “ here as with other Pilates instruction.

Ashley is a Master movement specialist and teacher. She has the rare ability to guide her clients to connect with and become aware of subtle movement patterns. Working at establishing Fascia fitness before jumping into Pilates is definitely the way to go if you want a truly solid core strength experience as the end result. I appreciate that Ashley understands this and is willing to address fascia issue. After the long COVID-induced period of isolation, complicated by actually contracting breakthrough COVID I have become inflamed and have fascial pain that is impacting my dive back into Pilates. Thank you, Ashley for being a conscientious practitioner and staying current with the most recent research regarding Pilates work and the link to fascial fitness.

I am very impressed with Forest Acres Pilates and specifically the owner, Ashley. I've had a number of injuries over the years resulting in some structural challenges and physical pain. Ashley got me lined out with some tools and exercises to correct some imbalances and heal the fascia to alleviate my pain and improve my mobility. She's knowledgeable, patient, and highly professional. I give her 5 stars and would recommend Pilates of Forest Acres to anybody looking to improve their health and mobility.

I’ve been working with Ashley for 12 almost 13 years. She is an amazing instructor who listens to her clients body needs and customizes her approach with instruction. I'm writing in defense of Forest Acres and specifically Ashley as a pilates instructor. A prior review indicated Ashley did not follow proper Covid protection protocols. I do not believe this was the case. I've been a client of Ashley for a number of years and she has always shown the greatest care and concern for her clients, especially this past year. We've always used a mask and she has always been at a safe distance from me while training me. In my opinion Ashley is the consumate professional.

While visiting the Carolinas I took several privates with Ashley. She is a stellar instructor who is extremely intuitive and creative. I’ve been doing Pilates for years and she’s given me the most insightful cues, helping me to reach a deeper level in my training.
