I'm annoyed with their $64 annual fee. Stop calling it annual fee if its not a fee that last all year. We still have to pay the continued monthly fee anyway. And when I went to cancel my teenager's summer pass, they just took the annual fee and wouldn't refund it even though she won't be returning. Says it'll to keep up membership which we're discontinuing?

I just moved here from New Jersey and started using the gym in Bluffton and Beaufort and both of them have very old and outdated equipment with the price that you're paying for the membership I kind of don't understand why you don't have new equipment when it's cheaper for your membership in New Jersey which is more expensive to live but yet you pay more here and the equipment is way old and outdated

The place is exceptionally clean I was super surprised with the new machines. The only thing was not good for me was the one girl at the counter . I wanted to re open my membership, she seemed totally uninterested , not really willing to help I even asked her if she didn't want me to re open membership, lots of attitude. I never got a comfimation e mail so I guess tomorrow I have to ask her again to check in . Apart from that the place is awesome !!!

I have been a membership at this Planet Fitness since it opened. I do miss the 24/7 hours. Saturday and Sundays it doesn’t open until 7AM. I have the black card membership and overall satisfied with facility and the staff for the membership price. It’s conveniently located for me.

Nice & clean. Most people are courteous, always a few jerkies that don't wipe down & hog equipment but few & far between. Circuit room was useless as it had no monitor to guide you on what to do. I just read in another review they got rid of it now so I'll have to check out what replaced it. Hoping for some boxing equipment! The new treadmills suck though. The buttons don't respond for changes in incline in particular. You have to keep pushing over & over before they respond. Other than that it's a good place to go in, do your thing & get out, which is exactly what I'm looking for as outdoor activity is nearly impossible in SC summers.

I liked it before the change. I just returned Monday after a two month lay off due to health reasons and when I returned, I was surprised by the new look and several of the machines I liked working out on are gone. And the 20 minute, or 30 minute workout room is gone. I loved working out in that area because I could go from machine to machine in a short walk. You have fewer bike machines now. Should put it back like it was. It was a nice setup.

Place was clean and staff behind the counter was amazing. My daughter and I went in for the first time and they explained she could get her own membership because she was in highschool and it was summer time. She was excited. I use to use the Planet Fitness facilities in Savannah and got addicted to Planet Fitness. We have moved to Beaufort, South Carolina now and checking out all the things to do in the area and Planet Fitness is definitely going to get revisited time and time again. Thank you for the great experience. I have a gym at our apartment complex and will probably never use it because Planet Fitness isn't too far from the house.

The main things for me are the monthly cost as well as the convenience. I only pay around $15 per month for the basic membership and $25 per month for the black membership for my wife. They have everything you need in order to get yourself a great workout. Peak times are a little crowded so I always go during off peak times and it’s much better for me.

This is a great PF! Most of the machines are new, 2 very large cable machines plus the one in the 360 room. An abundance of cardio machines (honestly a bit too much!). Everyone at the desk is friendly and all the facilities are clean

Possibly the best gym in Beaufort…but with a catch!

So here’s the deal. This is a great gym. It’s not the best gym you’ve ever been to, but for $10-20/month it’s a fantastic deal, probably the best deal in Beaufort.

The staff are ABSOLUTELY exceptional. I mean I’ve never had a bad experience with the staff. They’re super kind and I really feel like they’d bend over backwards for any of their customers; I would encourage you to disregard any of the negative reviews that talk about the staff.

The equipment can be kind of old, they definitely need to invest in new stuff, but it’s all functional and none of it feels like “wow this is junk,” it’s just a little tired.

HERE is the problem:
BECAUSE this is one of the cheapest and best value gyms in Beaufort, there are a TON of people who just come here to hang out. I don’t know about you, but I actually have a life, and the few times I can make it to the gym, I want to get a good 45 minute workout in and go home! You know what home is right? It’s that place you sleep every night, where your dog is, where you go after work every day? Yeah that place. I like that place.

Well, turns out a lot of the members here do not like that place. I guess they don’t have couches at home, because they like to come here and sit on the benches and scroll on their phones. Maybe they sit on the equipment you need and chit chat away FaceTime with their totally real girlfriend who they haven’t technically met yet but they’re for sure totally in love with. Maybe they just wanna stand in front of the mirror with the big weights in their hands striking poses. Dude, I don’t know - but I’ve showed up to this gym on my lunch break, in the afternoon, at 4 o’clock in the morning, at midnight, and somehow there are always people here who wanna sit on the equipment I need and just do basically nothing. Now yeah, I can ask them to move, but remember, these people don’t own couches or beds or chairs at home, so you’re basically asking them to get off their own couch! And they can’t let their totally-real girlfriend see them get bullied into getting off the couch by some furniture-owning plebeian, so they don’t like that so much.

I mean seriously though, idk what it is but the 8 benches, 4 squat racks, and 2 cable stations they have are constantly swarmed by folks who seriously must just have all day to hang out at the gym. I’ve shown up, seen how busy it was, left, and come back hours later just for these same people to still be camping out on the equipment. Maybe they live here, I don’t know man, but it’s nuts.

If you’re interested in the cardio, you’ll never have this problem. They have like 50 different cardio stations that are basically all wide open all day long. But if you’re trying to use the free weights, or the smith machines, or the cable stations, good luck! Better bring a lawn chair with you and maybe preload a movie on your phone to watch while you wait.

So I’m leaving 5-stars because this is objectively a great gym, and there is nothing the staff can do about these people who have apparently cancelled their lease and just live at planet fitness now. Really I mean what are they gonna do? Sound the lunk alarm? These aren’t lunks they’re just really, really bored people who I guess don’t have jobs or friends or something. They’re not bad people they’re just… gym people. Maybe they’re waiting for their preworkout to wear off because they’re just so stinking itchy they gotta lift man! I don’t know, your guess is as good as mine.

So yeah you need to know that. But if you want to do the 30 minute workout room, or cardio, or maybe if you’re looking to cancel your lease and move in to the planet fitness, then man, this is the gym for you!

And if you’re sitting on the bench at planet fitness with two 40lb dumbbells sitting next to you, and you’re picking one of them up every 10 minutes to make it look like you’re still working out, dude… go home man! There’s a whole world out there for you. So many rocks and logs and small woodland creatures just waiting for you to pick them up in a 5x10 set!

I live in Walterboro and can choose between this location or Summerville. The drive time to either one is about the same. I prefer the drive to Beaufort because it’s more scenic and two lanes for most of my drive so people aren’t riding my tail even though I’m going 5 over the speed limit already. The facility is nice overall. Great location. There are some issues that need to be addressed though. The toilet in the disabled person stall in the men’s restroom isn’t anchored to the floor so it rocks. There’s also a strong smell of sewer gas. This morning it was nauseating. This is JUST in the restroom area.

Very helpful at checking me in and showing me what Planet Fitness had to offer. I couldn't have been more impressed with the Cleanliness of the space. Not to mention all of the variety of equipment. Kudos to you young lady for displaying professionalism courtesy and all around show of appreciation for having me visit this location while on business. I went for inquiry about the gym time and all details before joining to the gym, but I found really worst experience at Robert small gym Beaufort. On reception people are working they should have to give the details about the gym. When the men is giving me the details, their were two girls laughing continuously like non stop as I am the circus animal for them or what I don’t understand. Place seemed clean, but equipment looked old. Massage beds and chairs looked ancient with excessive wear and tear. Front desk staff was nominally friendly but gave me a high speed tour. Also they didn't agree to the same coverage that my insurance company insisted was prenegotiated with them. Only visited once, not sure if I will be back.

I used to appreciate Planet Fitness for being open 24/7—a core part of their brand and one of the main reasons I signed up. However, that’s no longer the case, even though we’re well past the days of Covid-related restrictions. While they claim to be open 24/5, this is misleading. They open at 5 AM Monday and close at 10 PM Friday, which is actually only four full days of 24-hour operation—falling 7 hours short of the 24/5 promise.

On top of that, their weekend hours are not ideal for those of us with non-traditional work schedules, like night-shift medical workers. It’s frustrating that Planet Fitness hasn’t returned to their original 24/7 model, especially when other businesses like IHOP have gone back to normal operations.

Plant Fitness is the best gym in the area. When I first moved to Beaufort, I checked out all the gyms in the area. None of them compare to Planet Fitness in terms of their variety of equipment, facilities, and size/floor area. No matter what time of day I go, I can always find the machines and cardio equipment I want to use. The facility is clean, safe and well-lit. I highly recommend it!

I tried to cancel my membership as I had not been in there for a year and I did not realize I had to go in-person. Looing for instructions I was directed to use the app to cancel the membership apparently it was incorrect information then I was charged an annual fee that they won't refund which put my account in the negative and now I will be charged an over draft fee and a daily fee from my bank. So thank you planet fitness for not having humanity for my situation.

I'm only rating this a 2 because of the 2 workers in the front today. They need to gain some personality and not be so stuck up and rude.
I'm asking questions and they act like they don't want to answer them and looking at me like I'm dumb. They most definitely should not be front desk or working there at all. I forgot to scan my code after asking questions. The way the girl ask me with an attitude to check in first as I was walking away. "will you check in first" but with an extreme attitude. They both (the girl and guy) talk like their dead. not gonna exploit the names but I definitely will make a complaint. There is absolutely no need for that type of attitude when I walk in with a smile on my face happy and energetic. The workers should be happy to help new and old customers no problem. The treatment I got today was horrible. I did not like their attitudes especially when I have questions about the club. They need better workers who are upbeat and smiling working here.

My husband and I were both members of Planet Fitness. We mostly use the Beaufort location. I have not been to the gym in quite some, and recently returned. I never payed any attention to the payments coming out, but I knew they continued to draft them. I called to make sure my account was in good standing, was told it was. Went about two times. On my third visit I was informed that I could not work out because I owed $22 from a missed payment a few months ago. I was confused, so I asked the young lady if I could just work out and take care of it later she said no. The policy is if you owe anything you can't work out. So I said to her, because of $22 I can't work out after paying for months and not even coming. She explained that this is Planet Fitness policy. I was with my husband and by then he had started working out. I went and sat on the car. The more I sat the madder I got! So I went back in and canceled my membership!!! This was a few weeks ago. Fast forward to Thursday evening. My husband goes into Planet fitness to workout
The young lady behind the desk tells him he can't work out. He owed $12 and was only three days late. If you are going to continue to charge people for their gym membership you should not be denying them access to the gym. Especially for these small amounts. If you are going to deny access then stop charging us til we get it straight. It's OK to let people know, hey you have a missed payment and give them a chance to fix it. My husband said that is how it used to be. He didn't cancel his membership although I wish he had!!!!!!

I really liked this location. They have all of the equipment that you could ask for an it is well maintained. I did not see anything that was out-of-order. The locker rooms and bathrooms are very clean and well kept. While there was only one person who was working, Sarah was very pleasant and very attentive towards everyone. Staff is great, the showers and the 5 secs of hot water...not so much!!!

Since being temporarily handicapped with a broken arm it's hard to shower quickly and I almost get hypothermia when the hot water runs out and the freezing locker room air hits me. And it's every stall at the same time no hot water across the board when it goes it goes.

Other than that it's a nice facility but I choose other ones because of the hot water. Shout out to Raven and Ashlee they are always so kind and helpful.

I refrain all African-Americans or any people of color to go to Planet Fitness. They promote racism and the manager uses his whiteness as privilege. If your money could go to an at home gym or any other gym in the area, then I would highly recommend that you do. I thought I was going to love this gym, and I had recently left a glowing review,. But, upon closer inspection, I see that the staff steals your items, or immediately throw your things away that my accidentally get left behind in the women's bathroom/shower. Any notes go unread and trashed.
You call the very next day and your things have either been stolen or thrown away. Then the lying begins . Too bad...

FIX 👏 YOUR 👏 AC!!!! Random people come up to me in the parking lot as I'm walking in and out of the blue are like "be careful, it's hot in there". Your AC has been messed up for WAY longer than is acceptable. It's too hot to run outside this time of year! Fix the AC and please install a fan over the treadmills, this is ludicrous; it's literally messing up my workout routine because it's too hot to run. This is the only PF in Beaufort. Please help with this.

They really need to fix the ac, the temperatures inside are terrible. If you use one of the tanning beds it's almost hot enough to make you pass out! 🥵 The wall thermostat outside and across the hall from the tanning bed said 91.5 degrees, hotter than the outside temperature.

Also, crowd meter is a joke the place can be packed and it still shows 2 bars. I think you need to expand to accommodate the amount of people who are members.

The Beaufort Planet Fitness is a 10 in my book! The equipment is great and not complicated like at other PFs. If anything needs to be repaired, it's done quickly. But the biggest thing I love about Beaufort PF is the Staff - they are very friendly, respond to needs immediately, and keep the gym clean.

Nice clean facility. Very friendly staff. Nice showers. Only lacked a water bottle filling station by water fountains, that's an earthfreindly technology they need to implement like many other branches have. But Nice gym. I would return.

So cancelled before my 30 days because at sign up on the app it duplicate my information giving me 2 accounts. Received a NSF from my bank because they tried to take payments twice. Spoke to Alex, he said he had it situated just for 2 days later it happens again. I called before arrival and was told Alex was in a meeting. Arrived after 6pm to ask for Alex in person, was told he was gone for the day. Once I kept asking for a corporate number and to cancel, the girl at the front desk was able to provide Alex. He told me to wait until next month to see if the issue happens again!!! I'm done, stop taking a dollar a day. It sounds like the company is trying to recover from COVID on customers. Full refund requested, we'll see how that goes.

It's a planet fitness..if you haven't been or heard about it,it's a gym without judgement. I like this location because it offers 24hr periods so I can use the machines without my anxiety going over 100.
