There’s a girl who works at the front desk — African American, buzz cut, usually there almost every day — and she constantly has an attitude. Every time we walk in, she acts annoyed for no reason. Today, me and my friend accidentally bumped the door with a gallon of water, and she immediately snapped at us like it was on purpose. We explained it was an accident, and she responded with more attitude, saying the door was already broken.

Later, we were trying to take pictures and she rushed us out with the same rude tone. This has been happening for months, and it makes the whole experience negative. If you can’t be nice to customers, maybe work somewhere else. I honestly don’t recommend going here because of the front-desk attitude.

This is a great gym, basic machines, etc. The tanning booths are excellent except you need to wait for the session to begin. At my other gym, once you get in the booth and are ready, there's a button you can push to get it started.

Staff are rude and for no reason, they work at planet fitness. If your goal is to work in a gym congratulations you work at the McDonalds of gyms. People camp at equipment and don’t even work out, they text away and watch videos on their phones and staff refuse to acknowledge and correct the behavior.

Every time we go the staff are at the front desk texting or on the phone. We joined the gym 3 months to work out as a family and EVERY time we go the staff act as if they are doing us a favor by allowing my daughter be on my black card as my guest.

In short as I said this is the McDonalds of gyms sure it’s a gym and no matter which one you go to it’s the same, the staff are rude and quality of customer interaction is garbage.

I've been coming to this gym for seven years, and during that time, I've always encountered these types of people with attitudes that make them think they own the gym when they're mediocre employees. They also have the stupidest rules. “Do not use your bag outside the locked area, do not sit on the machines” Maybe it's made for the autistic community. If you want a good workout, it's better to work out in the aisle at Walmart, but not at Planet Fitness.

The gym is clean, plenty of equipment to use. Always greeted pleasantly by the staff and never have an issue except today when I called to inquire about my billing late charges and was hung up on the phone by Lauren. I was questioning why I was having late fees charged to my account when I have two forms of payment. I wasn’t understanding and I was continuously questioning what she was saying because it wasn’t making sense to me. She told me she couldn’t see anything else and I had to call billing. She started saying the phone number when I told her she needs to hold on because I didn’t have a pen and paper. I was told that I was having attitude and hung up on. She’s rude, plain and simple. Poor customer service on her part.

I enjoy working out at planet fitness centers. The one is Bluffton is the one that I frequent the most and it’s safe, clean and the customer service is outstanding. I always feel like I own the place.

The Bluffton Planet Fitness is a well run gym, and managed expertly by Chelsea Rice. The equipment is always clean and in working order. Members are friendly but not intrusive in any way. Great place to get a good workout among similarly minded people. Best gym value anywhere.

I’m giving this Planet Fitness location 3 stars today.

The facility was clean and most of the staff were friendly—but I had an unpleasant interaction at the front desk that left a bad impression. I had recently purchased a pair of tanning bed goggles from the Columbia location, only to find there was no string included in the bag.

When I asked the front desk staff here if I could exchange them for a pair that included the string, one of the girls was noticeably rude and dismissive. She told me I’d have to go back to the original location because they “don’t sell that color.” I pointed out it was the same brand, and that I didn’t care about the color—I just needed the full product I paid for, including the string. Her response? “You can go to the other place, that’s a different location.”

I wasn’t aware that Planet Fitness locations are individually owned and operated, but regardless, the tone and attitude were uncalled for. I expected better customer service and a more helpful attitude, especially from a national brand that promotes a judgment-free environment

Last year I came here and they pulled a stool out from the back room, so I could use this counter, but this year thry wouldn't do it for me. Why do they even have such a counter installed if they're not gonna provide seats for it... senseless and none uses it. Also the shower water pressure is way low... been to many PFs in my travels. This is below average for these reasons.

Everything. My work has me travelling and I try to use the facilities when and where I am able.. I can tell you that the Bluffton location is far better than the others I have visited. The machines are in better shape, the place is clean and well organized, ez check in and always a "see ya later" when I head for the exit. Your people in the Bluffton store are by far the friendliest and most attentive of all the others that I have dealt with. I have been in the customer service industry for 35+ years, so I have an eye for that sort of thing! Keep it up.

They don't have a lazer shooting at your eyes to scan your membership qr code.

The front desk lady greets you with a smile.

Its spacious.

Good air circulation.

The machines are sturdy and more leveled than most pfs.

They don't play the music too loud like most pfs.

New member and I was enjoying my time at this gym, it does get a bit crowded with the younger crowd at times holding up machines on their phones but otherwise my experience was ok
Until yesterday, I attempted to purchase a water bottle from the female employee at the register and was flat out ignored. She was bent over on the counter typing away on her phone and I called out to her several times to get her attention before I realized she was intentionally ignoring me as I was standing right in front of her inches from her face. She refused to look up from her cellphone and acknowledged me. The young man finished with his customer on the other side of the counter and had to walk over to help me. It was very rude and disrespectful. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or if she wasn’t on the clock and couldn’t be bothered by customers, but if you are going to stand in front of the register I would assume as an employee you are there to help/work. Luckily I am a black card holder and I will just relocate to another planet fitness that has better customer service.

Update - store manager reached out to me quickly and apologized for my experience and offered compensation. I really appreciated the prompt response and eagerness to rectify my experience. I can say the management team definitely cares about their customers and their gym and are doing a great job. Thank you so much for reaching out Adam I appreciate that.

This place is absolutely horrid. We have reached out multiple times to get an account cancelled since moving across county and they have charged me every month plus a member fee when I've told them I moved. The employees at this store said they do not have a management team to help and I'm pretty much screwed. Good luck to anyone who ever moves and forgets to go in person to cancel, they will continue to steal your money and offer no assistance. There are much better places to give your hard earned dollars to in that town that have much better customer service. I would give less stars. If they EVER help before I have to get a new debit card I will update. But as of now, this place sucks. Do better planet fitness.

I just wonder how often they clean this gym because it looks dirty, the floors and machines are full of dust. The showers are nasty and there is hair all over, it appears as if they are never cleaned. I’ve noticed lots of trash in the ladies area that has been there for a long time. The massage chairs are also dirty and littered with trash. This is just a comment and I hope to see this issue resolved.

One of cleanest and best in this area! One thing is though when stuff breaks it takes forever for them to fix it. Example the hot water thats been out for over week. The next closest PF is on the island and its not the cleanest, the other two good ones are an hour or so away.

In July I flew to Hilton Head to spend a month with my girlfriend who lives there.
She had mentioned several times that she wanted to take a hydro massage not knowing that it was at planet fitness.
When I got there I was greeted by you're wonderful staff. After checking in as her guest I tried the hydro massage the body enhancement and the massage chair.
After all this is over with I was given a tour of your planet fitness and your staff went over the pricing and what the monthly membership would be which is very reasonable.
After everything was explained to me I fell in love with planet fitness.
When I returned back to New Jersey in August I joined planet fitness the next day. I told the staff here in my planet fitness that I visited your planet fitness and your staff encouraged me to join which I did.
I go to planet fitness almost every day here in New Jersey and when I return back to South Carolina I will be coming you back to your planet fitness.
I totally recommend planet fitness to everybody

Affordable gym that has basic stuff. Most of the staff is really pleasant with one exception that is ironically scheduled during super early hours where he cant be weird...except to me bc i go super early, lol. Gym is clean, machines work for cardio, free weights are okay. Smith Machine constantly used for arm curls and bench is a bummer. On balance, its 10 bucks a month, so you pay 6x more for something marginally better. Good value, in other words.

It's Ok. Clean enough. Don't understand the belt vibration on 3 of the treadmills I've used. I've been to lots of gyms and never experienced this. The computer system has been down for a week, so you can't use the water massage chairs or beds. I like that each treadmill had its own tv. Showers had plenty of hot water, but the floor could use some cleaning. It's a busy place in the morning, and getting to some of the weight machines was a little tough. Although I always found an open treadmill.

Came in on Valentine’s Day night around 10pm , The guy with the glasses was so rude and didn’t want to help us . He was rude and has an attitude. The girl who was working with him with the orange hair was too busy eating her pizza . We did not have a membership and we’re obviously looking to get one but he was rude and did not want help us at ALL .. I Guess helping out customers is not in their job description ??? I really like the gym, but only one problem with it is people. There's one black guy who comes 4-5 in the morning and stalking young girls and acting very rude to them. No idea what his problem is.
