This club is pretty decent usually clean, a lot of young people working there , the showers take a long bit to heat up … overall decent, I just don’t understand why the gym isn’t 24 hours on the weekends it doesn’t make sense. That’s when most people are off work.

This entire franchise is a joke. They let my 13-year-old daughter join online knowing she can't attend without a parent. The application even asked me if I was a member when I signed off on it, and I said no. We went the same day and canceled her membership, without getting back the $29 joining fee. They couldn't send me an email verification of this cancelation, but the assistant manager assured me it was taken care of. Now we have been charged for the next month, and they are telling me over the phone I will have to come back into the club to get it canceled.

By far the worst pf I visit.. yuppie and Karens run this place I’ve been asked to leave multiple times over a gym bag and I’ve been told my crocs need to be in sport mode or I’ll have to leave. I travel for a living and visit a lot of pf and never had any issues anywhere else

Gets a little busy at times. The AC is not optimal, gets very muggy inside, especially on cool humid mornings. Maybe get your HVAC program set to run more in a zone or two to get the moisture out; otherwise I've had a great experience so far.

My 13 year old daughter and I were denied access today. Mind you we’ve been at this location without a problem before. When scanning access from the App I was told that I need a picture ID for my daughter. I told the young man at the front that my daughter isn’t old enough to drive so she doesn’t have a picture ID. I asked him if a birth certificate would suffice but he said a picture ID was a must for her. On the website it simply states that children who are 13 must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian which I am. It has no mention that one must present ID. I asked him if he could look in the system where it shows that me and my daughter have attended this location before but he claimed he could not see that which is unfortunately very false. Very disappointing experience, especially for a teenager who WANTS to work out with her parent!

I've had this membership a few months. Signing up online was a breeze. However, setting up a guest account was more involved then the advertising leads on. I did not have a pleasant experience doing so at the lake Wylie location. It was one issue after another. While the member of the staff was rather amused, I found the experience frustrating.

Decent selection of machines, and very clean facilities I've been going for the past few months and can say that this Jim meets all my needs and is kept up very well there are a lot of cardio machines I do wish there was a little bit more free weight but other than that I would recommend getting a membership here and working out

Just filed a complaint with the BBB. Signed up for a membership yesterday got a call today from planet fitness saying I owed 15 dollars from an old closed account with them in my name, I said no problem I’ll pay it today. Got another phone call an hour later saying I owed another 15 dollars for my ex girlfriend’s account simply because I made a payment on it. I asked for the manager and explained that I shouldn’t have to pay for her past due balance, I wasn’t on her account it wasn’t my account and just because I made a payment on it doesn’t make me responsible for it. He stated if I didn’t pay her account to they would cancel my membership. I called the PF headquarters and the girl that answered said that makes no sense I shouldn’t have to pay someone else’s past due, she filed a complaint #05540416. I went to the local PF and explained to the manager I filed the complaint and he advised he already talked to the regional manager who said I should pay her past due or they would cancel my membership. I think that they are taking advantage of me unlawfully and unjustly which is why I filed the BBB and decided to take another five minutes out of my day to leave this review. This isn’t about 15 dollars it’s the principle that they are requiring me to pay someone else’s past due balance to remain a member, all of which happened the day after I signed up and already paid for my membership and dues.

There is plenty of equipment for everybody. The staff at Clover Lake Wylie SC are the best. Clean everything and lots of friends. I am very satisfied with this particular planet fitness, and if it is not the flagship, it should be . Very professional trainers and great atmosphere for everyone. Come on down, sit a spell. Terrible experience. Closest PF to me and I won't be back, equipment, particularly the dumbells, are wet slime and disgusting. I grabbed a set and it felt like a snot on it, i immediately dropped them to clean them and got the lunk alarm, understandable i dropped the wieght. I explained to the lady why it happened, and she aid I just heard them drop, looked up and pressed it. (making a JUDGMENT off my apperance and the noise she heard) 5 minutes later a woman dropped a dumbell from over head... EVERYONE looked at her and nothing... a member then came to me and said "you must be the only lunk." NEVER have I felt more JUGDED than in this "judgement free zone". For context I've been going to PF all over the country for over 20 years. I'll never step foot inside this one agian. The staff should be ashamed of the gym culture and etiquette they have created here. I've heard of countless people leaving this location becuase of this and they can't seem to find responsible employees who open the gym on time.

Response to the Owner: As a owner I believe it's your job to reach out to Your management staff and correct these on going issues that your paying patrons repeatedly bring up. perhaps the poor management is a reflection of poor ownership.

Great staff, equipment, and pricing. The only downside is they are not open 24/7. They close on weekend evenings and don’t open until 7 am the next morning. They are open 24/5 during the week, but it is usually inconvenient on the weekends within their time frame.

I really like this gym.I will only give them a one star as I have had two occasions where I was waiting and couples came out of the black card services device rooms.the first time two teenagers came out of the red light therapy and held hands and left to go work out.I reported this and they did call but I guess nothing was done.Yesterday I saw a young man come out of the tanning bed room, turn and speak to the person inside and told them when they were finished he would be working out. Now he was whiter than wonder bread, and a teenager. I told the young man at the front desk and he said thanks. I reported this to PF by email and when I stopped in today the lady, Morgan, told me that I am not to assume they were in there having sex. They could have had to have a conversation. She also said they have no cameras and i know there was one in the corner and she said this was for the corporate office, not them.Oh that is reassuring. She said anyone is allowed back there so they cannot stop someone from going in. She said likely the Black card member is likely sharing her time in the tanning bed. Really.I asked how long they get and was told 12 minutes.so he used 6 minutes, jumped out and left and then she jumped in? Just be aware the Planet fitness Motel is up and running and eeeew to anyone who goes in after them. I was told not to take any pictures as they have to protect the offenders rights. So much for the black card benefits. They care more about the kids in for free having meeting in the small room and not about h=the adults who have to go lay and stand in those machines after the meeting. Yuck

Showed up just before 7am, before gym was due to open. At 7am, a line of people who are ready to workout forms, and the parking lot is filling with people who are ready to walk in. Unfortunately, no workers to open doors leaving people waiting. This gym is high demand and for this gym not to be open on time, is ridiculous. My parents recently joined the Planet Fitness in Lake Wylie to kickstart their fitness journey in 2024. My mom in particular joined with the promise of being able to work with a personal trainer, knowing that she'll use the membership only if she gets the professional fitness support. From there, she'd feel more comfortable with what equipment to use and which exercises meet her fitness needs.
Upon signing up she was told a trainer was starting and would be available to meet with her shortly. Almost immediately the trainer quit and my mom was directed to go to a location 30 minutes away. The Planet Fitness Lake Wylie location was selected by my parents for its low cost, convenience and the knowledge that they'd receive a set number of professional training sessions. When my mom found out she'd have to travel 30 minutes to another location she decided it was not worth her time and inquired about canceling her membership before the $50 annual membership fee was charged in March. She then learned it was "too late" and she would be charged the fee in a couple of days. So at this point cost, convenience and professional training support, the three reasons she chose to join, are no longer true.
To be charged an annual fee for a service she will not utilize at all is extremely poor customer service, but the staff at this location claims there is nothing they can do to help. What an overall disappointing experience!

I had an AWFUL sign up experience at this location. I walked in and there was no acknowledgement or eye contact from staff for help. I felt like I interrupted a high school gossip session between 3 employees (not really a judgement free zone). I was directed to sit down and sign up on the app. I didn’t know I signed up at the wrong location online. Another employee said I would have to call the concord location to correct this. I didn’t understand why they were unable to make a call to the location……and do their JOB.

Thankfully the concord location employees were very kind and fixed this issue . The employee in concord informed me that this is not the first time they’ve had issues at this location. I understand it is a new gym but the employees seem very juvenile. I’m so disappointed. Please reconsider your staff. It would be nice to keep this one clean and ACTUALLY judgment free.

I love this location! It is new and always clean. The front desk are always friendly and helpful. Even if the parking lot is full I am rarely waiting on equipment. I like that the smith machines are vertical and not at an angle allowing me to do squats and deadlifts. They have a total body enhancement for black card members which is a red light therapy pod with a vibrashake pad. The red light along with the vibrashake pad are great for recovery after a hard workout.

just traveling through, and this gym seems very new, therefore clean. i had to try 3 of the women’s showers before one of them was hot (i waited about 3 minutes before the water was a comfortable temperature).

but the low rating is due to a very odd situation: i was in the women’s locker room for about 25 minutes and as i was done with my shower, i grabbed my towel, wrapped it around my body and opened the curtain and came face to face with a male employee vacuuming the ceiling??? i was very uncomfortable and went back into my shower stall and i heard the vacuum noise walk away. i exited the shower and quickly got changed. as i was STILL in the locker room getting ready to leave, the male employee walked BACK in! as i quickly left, i noticed a sign that said “attention: male working in women’s locker room”. that sign was not there when i entered the women’s bathroom.

i spoke to the women at the front desk and they were receptive and kind to what i told them, but i really hope this is a lesson learned. PLEASE send a female employee (or even ask a female guest) to ensure the women’s locker room is clear before sending a male employee in to clean at 6pm (or ANY time). and place the sign directly in-front of the entrance of the locker room, not off to the side (the women at the front desk told me the sign was up for longer than i was there, but i absolutely did not see that sign when i walked in). i personally felt very uncomfortable, but i would be concerned for any women who may feel more violated by that experience.

Love this location but please explain how it is 24/5……you open Monday @ 5am and are open 24 hours until Friday when you close at 11. Saturday and Sunday is 7-7…which sucks for the people who work until 5 or 6 on the weekends.

Bring back 24/7. Some of us do not like working out when it is packed and we have to wait in Jr who is too busy taking selfies while pretending to work out.

If I could give 5.5 stars I would, I’m a big fan of planet, I’ve been in both York, and 2 Gastonia locations. The place smells new, looks new and I like how everything was designed. The staff is friendly and the only thing that was missing besides the lockers with the option to place your own temporary lock, were the variety of energy drinks:( I love when everything is in one place and sadly I was told that since they made a partnership with Celsius, they won’t have any other energy drink options besides that I’m happy they finally opened a closer location to my house:)
