It was very clean, the front desk workers were nice. I did daily passes. They refused 10 dollars cash for the daily fee. Said credit or debt only. This is the first time I've ever been told this at any planet fitness. So if you do a daily pass make sure to have your card.

This Planet Fitness is the cleanest PF i've been to. The bathrooms are spotless and well maintained. The machines actually work and not every machine is closed due to maintenance. The customer service is pretty good as well. If I lived in the area, this would be my home gym but unfortunately I'm only visiting. I hope this PF continues to be well kept and my experience remains a positive experience until next year.

The worst staff in history of gyms. Pam the club manager was beyond rude, interruptive, assertive and lacks any sympathy for human kind. People make mistakes, and a kind word gets more accomplished.
Misunderstandings happen. But the fact that the manager overreacted, mocked, and ultimately ejected someone who never hurts anyone is unacceptable!

As someone who goes to this Gym all the time it’s a shame to see people get targeted, judged, and scrutinized for things of the past. What a shame! I thought this was a judge free zone. Overall this place is amazing and couldn’t be amazing without a great manager “Pam” who is clearly the person I’m talking about being targeted etc. People don’t realize how much these judgmental words can hurt people’s lives and the business as well. I love this gym!!! Pam is amazing and keeps everything running smoothly and this has nothing to do with her, BUT if I come in to work out and it's THIS cold again...I'm going to start going back to Seaboard St. You are supposed to sweat in the gym and I shouldn't leave working out WITH A COLD!!! Just went up to the front and spoke with poor Isaac, he is in a short sleeve and almost resembles a popsicle. For reference the AC is set on 64° so my husband and I are leaving, not getting to work out, when we are here 5 and 6 days a week.

While I love the gym and how clean and friendly the staff is, I have two complaints:
1. I asked for the manager’s email so I could directly speak with her and no one seemed to know what it is.
2. I feel like the massage chairs, hydro-beds and cry-lounge chairs should be FIRST come first serve. It’s aggravating when I go to use and they’re “reserved”. The people that “reserved” the chairs rarely show up if at all. This in my opinion needs to stop.

Lay down bed bulbs need replaced. Benn there 3 times only tanned twice because of the 24 hr rule. It was with in the hour. 2nd day a younger staff member was kinda rude to me and didn’t explain about the kiosk. I didn’t have where I lived. I had only been there once to fill out forms. Experience didn’t leave a good impression. All the tanning bed bulbs need replaced , I ve tried them all getting absolutley nothing from all of them. I’m considering cancelling my membership . It doesn’t seem worth it, it’s always crowded. And no one has been helpful with other thing besides tanning. It’s also not the cleanest planet fitness I’ve ever been too. Not happy. You REALLY need to change all the bulbs in ALL the tanning beds!! Just readjusted my specs and still nothing. This is my 5 th tanning session, I should be somewhat dark by now. Still NOTHING! I read a review that some one else commented on the tanning beds. She was right, they all need updated! They also need to regulate the tanning appts better, no one knows who’s coming or going. Again, this tanning situation is so poorly run. Today, I’ll have to wait for a bed yet again, then no one mentioned that one bed is out cause they are waiting in bulbs. WTH? I’m from up north and this never once happened to me ever in Md Va or west Va. Also their beds were always up to date , worked very well. I’m at my wits end. Didn’t really want the hybrid bed since well it just doesn’t do a thing. I’m getting so sick of making trips here for next to no color at all. I was excited to learn they were getting new bulbs, but that was three days ago. Good grief!!! Well, I have not been here for awhile. Seems nothing has changed as far as the crappy tanning bed situation goes. Two booths are down today. And there is only one ancient bed. Hybrids do nothing. . Plus they need to give out numbers like other planet fitness so they can keep track of what beds are being used. Does everything operate this way here? Lord makes me wanna move back home. I visited this Planet Fitness yesterday. I was greeted by Pam. Pam was very friendly and took me on a tour of the facility. She answered all my questions. She also asked me if I had spoken with my insurance company to see if they would cover going to a gym. I did not even know my insurance might cover the gym fees. The facility was clean. I can not wait to start my experience at Planet Fitness. I would definitely reccomend this Planet Fitness.

I visited this location while on vacation, I was skeptical to come here seeing 3 stars. I'm definitely happy I came to this location soon much bigger than my home gym and the amount of equipment they offer is so nice. The perks are the 4 different tanning beds and private rooms for the massage chairs. Definitely recommend this location if needing a good workout!

It's like any other place. People sitting on machines and texting/talking for 10 minutes or more. Have seen people sit on machines for 25 minutes talking on phone. I go when it's not too busy. Can't imagine what it's like when they are busy. It's not an age thing, could be 20 years old or 70 years old. Can't understand why fitness places allow it. So it's not just a Planet Fitness issue. Place is very clean (don't use locker rooms) and when equipment breaks down, it usually is fixed quickly.

I didn’t really interact with much staff (saw all the Pam reviews, yikes). I like the hours (the Shallotte one has crappy hours compared to this one). It also seemed like it had newer equipment, was cleaner, was bigger, and less busy than Shallotte, which is my home PF. That being said my experience was positive.

Planet Fitness is good for the price charges. Their maintenance needs to be stepped up a little. It takes quite a while for them to fix things. They need more of some of the popular machines and they could take out some of the treadmills to make room for them. Overall it serves our purpose in getting a good workout.

EDIT: changing from one star to four stars now. The staff has gotten a bit more friendly and sometimes will even say hello when you walk in the door. They seem to have gotten better with the check in system for the tanning, although it’s still a bit odd to wait in line to reserve an appointment, then go back and wait in line again to check in.

Pros: good variety of equipment, cheap membership fees, clean
Cons: very unfriendly staff, and they don’t appear to be trained on the computers yet. The scheduling system for tanning/massage is a mess. Wait in line for 15 minutes to pre-book a bed, come back and wait in another line for staff to tell you what bed to go in, but you have to wait 8 minutes because the time you booked earlier is now already taken by someone. Hoping that this is because they’re still new.

This planet fitness is NOT 24/7 & weekends is when they close early. It’s extremely small compared to most PFs In the mornings it’s way too busy. Tanning beds are very outdated. If it’s busy, it’s so hot in the rooms you feel as if you can’t breathe. Staff is friendly, never had issues with any of them

The person who runs the facility we use is Pam. She has a lot of bad reviews for her behavior and attitude on here so im adding mine, and my family will be adding another. I believe it is in PF policy guidelines to not grunt in the gym still? Really? It's 2025. We are healing and growing and for some people who actually want to train serious and grow muscle occasionally there are grunts. I am a female. 5'7" 145 pounds. I'm not some roided out craz-0 screaming at the top of my lungs but I do grunt. She rudely approached me and a friend of mine on different days. I don't drop weights and I don't make a scene of anything I am just a serious bodybuilder and I'm 40 years old btw, who am I intimidating? I am an adult that should be allowed to grunt under the exertion of heavy weight on my muscles. Men walk around with beer bellies and women have their boob's half out and no one cares, oh and "we also include all genders now", but a woman who is serious about gaining muscle to be competitive in a sport is asked to leave. Very odd ways to decide health and fitness standards. Hope you can go into 2026 with a better understanding of what is required physically and mentally to be successful. Good luck.

Carolann is amazing and so helpful with all the black card services. Her customer service skills are outstanding. The gym is clean, huge and has almost all the equipment I need. I miss my free weight 45lb bars to do back squats and deadlifts, but I can do everything else on my workout plan and use the machine barbells instead. I just prefer the free weight bars. There are lots of great ab machines and they have two of all the standard machines. I enjoy coming here in great part because of Carolann . She needs a raise!

They don't have the cardio /lifting circuit that the older planet fitness have (similar to curves) which i used and miss at this new location. They also always have a line to use the black card spa amenities, so i usually book them as soon as I get there and then go do my stuff

I came here to read reviews because my daughters experience was beyond horrible when communicating with the staff and the gm (pam). This is a judgement free zone, yet you talk to your customers like pure dirt. She was treated like just a number, someone interrupting their day. The attitudes were horrendous and honestly seeing all these reviews where people are having the same experiences, how and why is this still being allowed? When I called in, the woman who answered the phone laughed and said is this the girl calling again? Um, is this how we answer the phone I said? Put me on the phone with your manager now. It's a very nice gym, but several people I know wont join it because their ONLY option for payment is to provide them your Checking routing and account info. They do not accept credit card or debt card for monthly payments. With so many companies that get "hacked" every year and exposing info; they don't want their direct checking account info leaked. With the Credit or Debit card, you have the option to get a new card number when a breach occurs, but if your checking account info is exposed, you're just in lots of trouble with little recourse. I really wish they would reconsider allowing the use of Credit or Debit cards for security reasons.

The blonde hair older women Pam, who works at the front desk was absolutely rude obnoxious and totally unprofessional this morning! her customer service is awful. She’s completely arrogant and seems to flirt with the men who come in to work out. Word on the street is that there are numerous customers who feel uncomfortable by her grossly flirtatious remarks. Shout out to the excellent customer service displayed by Kim and Pam! It was busy, you exercise when you can, had some issues with the hydro bed and scheduling; but they didn’t miss a beat. I was frustrated and about to call it a day and just leave, but Kim and Pam realized I was having issues and quickly resolved them. It is very important to me after a workout to get a massage, so that I’m not sore the next day and can keep going. Not every staff member at this location has been helpful or nice, so I was grateful and greatly appreciated their competency and customer service. Their attitude will encourage clients to return to this location, hope others take notice, keep up the great work ladies!

The day general manager has a bad attitude…. Not professional at all and instead de escalating the situation between us … she continues to amp it up … she starts off by yelling at us about our bags and tells me to take them off the floor now… I told her I had no problem removing my bags off the floor but that she was aggressive and needs to come at people differently… we exchanged words and proceeded to take our bags off the floor then she walks up to another girl and asked if she could remove her bag but was very polite to the other lady … as I was walking off she then decides to turn to another employee and laughs and is now talking about me to this person and I turn around and we are arguing again ….I walk up to the front and now my daughter is canceling her membership, I’m asking for corporate number and what do you know here she comes again she’s not done with us now she’s standing too close to my daughter agitating her on more … my daughter and her are now arguing and my daughter says she’s trying to cancel her membership and to get out of her face and she responds with “good I’ll let you continue and then you can leave”
This could of went a completely different way if she would have approached me the same way she did the other lady…. And all of us would of had a better day …. I’ve been going here for years now i always have a bag because I carry my equipment to workout with in there…. And never once have I gotten in trouble for a bag!

We were minding our own business working out and putting our bags way in the corner where they were not bothering anyone she came at a 100/10 and yelled at us but the other lady she talked to respectful. I was really disappointed with my experience at the gym today. I witnessed what seemed to be a manager harshly addressing a family over a policy that wasn’t clearly communicated. It created an uncomfortable and tense atmosphere, which is the last thing anyone wants when they come to the gym to relax or blow off steam. Yesterday my wife and I scheduled an appointment with Allen, a trainer at Planet Fitness, off Rt 9. He showed us what would be the best type of routine for each of us. Allen was excellent. He explained each piece of equipment, and the benefits of using them. It was a very positive, informative, and fun experience .

The gym is ok. Kinda gets really frustrating when there's only one type of machine that gets used constantly and plenty of other machines that there are multiple of that aren't used nearly as much. It would be a lot better if they were 24hrs. There's a couple other things to be mentioned about some of the staff.

The facility is nice but the manager on duty was the most unprofessional person I’ve ever met:l. She was unwilling to talk to my boyfriend and I when we had questions about charges we received. She just told us to cancel our membership rather than wanting to resolve issues when her staff member was the one who misinformed us. The lady who had given us our tour even owned up to misspeaking and telling us the wrong info. That wasn’t a big deal it was the fact that the manager came out ready to fight, screamed at us in front of other customers and flat out embarrassed us. We own 3 local businesses in this area and would never, ever have a staff member treat clients or anyone for that matter the way we were treated.

Love this gym and staff. Everyone else complaining is usually the silver spoon type and expect the red rug to be laid out for them. All the equipment is brand new and in great condition, the place is very well taken care of and cleaned nightly. I know because I’m in there every night and see the staff cleaning every thing and wiping everything down and putting up weights people are to lazy to put up after using. If you happen to get to workout while Jacob is working he’s a great dude and very friendly and easy to talk to, so are the others I just don’t know their names yet. By far one of the best facilities I’ve been in.

Pam is rude and she is a manager, was trying to ask questions and was told just cancel your damn membership. I was charged an annual fee when I have not even been to this location yet and the way I was treated over the phone I won't be ever going to any of them. I have filed a BBB complaint due to the annual fee and being charged for a membership they didn't even have me signed up for.

Most unprofessional fitness center I have ever visited. The staff is unfriendly, untrained, and clueless. Fortunately I only went a few times as a guest and did not purchase a membership.
This facility is basically a giant warehouse filled with low end exercise equipment, some already out of order or making weird noises. The Locker Room was already gross and the Black Card upgrade is comparable to adding a spot free rinse at the car wash. What a joke. My friend also had a similar experience as did other reviewers in regards to late fees arbitrarily being added to their account which seems very strange for a facility open less than a month. As a result, they also decided to cancel their membership after not being able to resolve the issue with the Management at this facility. Another dissatisfied customer.

Good morning. Leaving this review for others in the area before getting roped into the planet fitness scheme. Recently, as in one week ago my significant other and I decided to try out planet fitness in little river as they are new here. After spending some time with one of the ladies behind the desk who “was a very sweet lady” had gotten us to sign up with 1$ down and nothing till the following month. So we signed up with her to give it the black card membership a try. Fast forward one week and I got a $40 charge to my account….when I brought it to the managers attention she got very defensive saying I signed the form that they are taking our payment on a specific date. “ my fault for not reading the 30 page document.” After asking why we were told one thing and charged something different, the sweet lady behind the desk spoke up to the manager and said she had misspoke to us admitting fault. Which is ok. We all make mistakes. So I asked the manager what we can do and she said she won’t do anything even after being told it was the staffs fault. The manager then decided to raise her voice and promptly told me to cancel my membership. As I will be doing. She was the most unprofessional manager I have ever spoken to. All I was asking was the late fee to be erased as it was a total miss understanding. So now over $15 late fee and monthly payment fee which wasn’t agreed upon, Planet Fitness will lose the two of us. “Not that they care.”
I’m mainly writing this because the manager was so unprofessional in handling this matter. I own a few business in this area and my managers would never speak to a customer the way she did. She had zero intention to help the situation. Will be telling everyone I know not to go to this location.

It is so nice to have a PF close by. I have been going every day. It’s big so even when crowded there are machines available. I did have an issue with an employee who was rude today but hopefully she will improve her customer service skills. It’s the1st time I have seen her & I hope she gets a different shift so won’t have to deal with her again.

Brand new Planet Fitness location. Not my home club, but used it while in the area visiting family.

This PF is huge. One of the biggest locations I have ever seen, and the equipment is spread out nicely with plenty of room.

I would definitely recommend it.

My favorite PF is in Latham Farms in NY. Always clean and friendly staff. Red light therapy and shake machine among my favorites.
