I used to rate this place highly. It's since then gone sharply downhill. The gym is constantly dirty, the staff no longer seems engaged, things are constantly broken and remain broken for weeks on end (1/8th of the he llights have been busted for almost half a year at the time of posting). Customers are disorganized and leave things a mess as well. I'm not sure what's changed but I will be switching across the road to the gym there or another gym.

Not long ago (September) I called and spoke to a person at Planet Fitness Moncks Corner at the front desk. I shared that I wanted to cancel my membership which they said they processed for me. Today (November) I saw that my bank account was charged a $49.00 fee for a PF membership, so I called them. Spoke to Dalton, he was a nice guy and offered to help, but in the end he personally said couldn't do anything to refund me my money. Apparently, in reading other google reviews, it certainly seems that PF has high number of complaints regarding cancellations so they can continue to bill their clients and then tell them there is no way they can be refunded. So not only am I out the $49, I was also charged the $15 for an additional 2/3 months.

I'm in my 70s and my daughter, in her 40s. We popped into PF to check it out, as she and I had been discussing going to a gym. The employee Noah was so helpful and positive and kind. Because of him, the next day we decided to join. PF, you have a superb employee in Noah.

The new manager is awesome!! He has cleaned the place up and has the staff saying hello and connecting with the members. If you haven’t been in a few weeks, you should, it’s a much better atmosphere and it’s so clean!

It's an okay gym. Planet fitness has always gravitated toward the bottom of my preferred gym brands. First time having a membership in a long time.

The gym hours are not super ideal other than the middle of the week. I'm sure this is based on foot traffic and paying employees during low hours, but limited availability on the weekend is extremely inconvenient.

The cleanliness is fine for the most part no don't see too many overflowing trash bins. People generally pick up after themselves. I do question the showers and how often those are sanitized or even cleaned. It's treasure if you can find a sanitizer bottle like other PF fitness locations that you can use before using the shower.

The equipment situation is fine. Would be nice to have some more common (not basic) equipment. It does have a plethora of the basic equipment which is good.

Overall I give it a 3 it's not above average (4-5) and now below average (1-2). It's just a normal gym that doesn't really go above and beyond for a planet fitness. I've never had a bad interaction with staff. It's a shame it's pretty much the only gym in MC

I had an experience at the gym that I found to be unexpectedly challenging. An employee approached me during my workout to inform me that I couldn't be in a room with a timer, despite the fact that I was the only one using the space at that time. It might be helpful for the staff to receive additional training on professionalism and customer interaction. There was so much she could be doing besides harassing members such as taking out the full trashcan. I do not know her name but she is caucasian with purple hair. As I am just visiting from my home location in Texas, I hope to see improvements for future guests. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The BEST gym experience! If you want to find a clean gym, a spacious environment and great atmosphere to workout in, this is your spot. The staff are super helpful and kind, namely Nicole and Cam. You’re always greeted with a smile and they’re always willing to help. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or an advanced lifter, I highly recommend coming here. I’ve been lifting for a year and a half and never had any issues here, besides there being too many people lol. Definitely a better experience than the Dynamic Health and Fitness across the street.

I just joined an Nichole at the moncks corner location is amazing my first day she made me feel so welcomed an helped me with the massage options the next time I seen her in there she pointed me in the direction to the core ab machines an gave friendly conversation. The manager at this gym is not at all helpful, and this company's practices are so sketchy I'm surprised they're still in business.

My husband and I just moved across the country, and in the process of doing so I planned to cancel my membership as financially it was an extra expense we cannot currently afford. When I went to do so, I saw I had the option to freeze my account rather than canceling, and could do so for two months. I opted for this thinking that my payment would freeze for two months; there was nothing stated on that portion of the website saying that the freeze must be done in a certain time frame or the payment will still pull.

Lo and behold, my payment still pulled after the account was frozen. It took a Google search to find out that if you don't freeze your account before the 10th of the month they will still pull the payment. I called the gym and spoke to a gentleman who informed me I would need to speak with the manager at 9am. When I called back, they tried to address me as someone named Jordan and claimed to have pulled up my account based on my phone number, then had to look me up a second time to get the correct information pulled. I was then told that "Because there was no incident that happened in person" that there was no possible way to refund me, regardless if my account was frozen prior to the money being pulled or not. He refused to give me the regional manager's number when I requested it stating he could only give me her email, which I absolutely do not believe whatsoever. I was then told that I should have better looked at my contract, which again I had no access to as I was in the process of moving 887 miles across the country when freezing my account.

My bank is now involved with disputing the charge, and I have fully canceled my membership with this company. I have no intentions of returning, and have informed everyone back home who I know uses this gym location how sketchy and money hungry this place is.

I cannot stress enough to not waste your time or your money with this specific location, and company in general.

Very clean gym. Not a ton of traffic both times I’ve gone so far. Definitely a smaller PF, but most all the equipment you need still. Half the gym is cardio equipment, so there should never be a shortage there. There are lockers outside the locker rooms if you want to be able to keep an eye on your things if you don’t have a lock. Overall it’s been a great experience. Very satisfied with this location.

I walked in with cash to join this club. I wanted the black club membership that would allow me to use other locations when I travel and I was prepared to pay cash for the entire year understanding full well that it would be nonrefundable if I quit attending. Three very unfriendly young people at the desk told me that wasn’t possible and I had to attach my bank account. I emailed corporate and ask him if they had a location they would accept my cash payment and not require me to attach a bank account. Corporate message me back and tell me I’d have to check with the individual locations..

I recently visited this location and wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. Overall, the gym is kept clean and the equipment is well-maintained, making it an enjoyable place to work out. The facility has a wide range of machines and equipment suitable for various fitness routines, which is definitely a plus.

However, I was disappointed with the attitude of one of the staff members. One particular staff member seemed disinterested and lacked the friendly demeanor that one would expect in a customer-facing role. It was clear that she was not welcoming and had a negative demeanor, which affected the overall atmosphere of the gym. It's unfortunate when a staff member's attitude can impact the overall experience for the customers.

On the positive side, the gym itself is well-organized, and the cleanliness standards are commendable. The equipment is regularly sanitized, and there are cleaning stations available throughout the gym for members to use. This attention to cleanliness and hygiene is something I greatly appreciate, especially in the current times.

Despite the unfriendly staff member, the gym itself provides a suitable environment for working out. I hope that the management addresses the issue with the staff member's attitude and takes steps to ensure a more welcoming and positive atmosphere for all members.

I came in to re activate my account in the new location, I was told by the 3 staff members I had to contact my original club (so they could transfer my account). The lady was being very rude and snappy, would be very short and wouldn’t even look at me while speaking to me. She would not let the 2 guys help me and/or directly contact my og club. I left very disappointed. I contacted the Summerville location and they said that they don’t reactivate accounts? So basically BOTH locations gave me completely 2 different pieces of information that didn’t concurre. Honestly I was upset, I was looking forward to come to the PF closer to me. I will never come back to either of these PF locations.

Among other things that’s wrong with the gym like those nasty hand dryers in the restroom, the staff at this planet fitness is very rude. The girl with the reddish locs came to me rudely talking about a bag policy. Ok I now know that there’s a policy but, if you going to be rude then maybe this ain’t the job for you. Also there were numerous of other people who were in violation of the rules of the gym. I stay seeing people not wipe off machines, have sweatshirts on the floor, wearing the wrong gym attire and shoes and meanwhile there was nothing said to them. Rule of thumb if you are going to enforce policy ENFORCE them all period. Don’t just single out some! Ruined my whole workout and I will NEVER go back. I’ll continue my journey in Summerville where the staff is nice and welcoming. Some people need to be trained in customs and courtesies and not to talk to people any kind of way. Smh!!!!

I went with my fiance as his guest. I was not able to use the massage chair with him. What was the purpose of being his guest? So I can watch him use the chair or me utilize the facilities because I might decide to purchase a membership of my own. The white male dark haired guy was cocky and a know it all.
