I’ve had very good experiences, but my good experiences have been really tainted by a rude and inappropriate person that works the desk. Terribly rude to the point of harassment. His behavior does not represent Planet Fitness well at all.
Most people have been lovely, therefore, it is my hope that this is an aberration and not a constant type of intrusive. and rude behavior by this young man.

Let this be a lesson to us all to spend our money elsewhere.
Read the other 1 star reviews, this is not the first issue with a “trainer/assistant manager” -who by the way, is the same person (Steven)
That I’m talking about in this post:

Steven has the worst customer service of any planet fitness I have been to.
Looked me in my face and told me I was NOT a customer and it doesn’t matter if I speak to the actual manager because he will say the same thing.
Instead of taking ownership of the issue he was argumentative and combative.
I would give this location 0 stars if I could.
He the dismissed me and turned around and did the same to my fiance’.
I think it’s safe to say that
If he represents what this company stands for, they are NOT a safe space for LGBTQ+ community!
He had no reason to be as nasty and dismissive as he was because the staff wasn’t properly trained on company policy and procedure.

Had a water issue that lasted a while. There doesn't seem to be enough machines for the common workouts, and no duplicates of some machines so there's always a line.
All in all, their equipment is nice, and it's a quiet and enjoyable place to workout. But their music is awful for working out, definitely bring your own earbuds.

Gym is clean and organized, too bad that not all the personnel are kind. I had a very bad experience with a little short trainier boy, who was extremely rude and with a bad attitude. I am pretty sure the main issue was my race. He came very close to my face, yelling at me, asking if I knew how to read and threatening to revoke my membership. I am an older woman and can't believe this person can disrespect me like that. If you come, please be aware of this person, especially if you are Hispanic and female. I didn't see him having any issues with male and white members.

Overall the gym is good and has clean equipment but the short guy who does the training is incredibly rude. I use to love coming here but now I am always worried to bump into this guy because he is always rude, hogs a lot of the equipment and training areas, I can't even get close before he says something rude or snatches the equipment from me. He pushed a sign in my face, made rude remarks and threaten to take my member ship away. I really hope this wasn't driven by race hate. I hope I can feel comfortable coming to this gym again.

Let’s start off with convenience- can’t be upset with their availability. Plenty of machines for everyone. Locker room is spacious enough. The male bathrooms were mediocre and could use some TLC.

Several on-site amenities... Wish they had a free weight section… but it has everything I need to get a proper workout in.

I noticed my account had been charged twice for $40 instead of $25 for 2 months in my account so I went by the store to talk to someone about it. A big guy don’t know his name came out started talking to me about my account. He looked it up saying it was not their fault that my bank did not approve of the charges so they got declined and I ended up getting a $15 late charge added onto my account. I then told him there was no way my bank declined it because i would have gotten something back from my bank saying so and that i have been with planet fitness forever. They have never done that before and it was strange it happened twice in a row. He wasent very nice about it and never once apologized. He even said it was ok if I bashed him on Facebook. I told him to deactivate my account and I was never coming back there again. The poorest customer service i have ever seen.

The water fountain water is warm. The ceiling drips in certain areas. There are these huge fans that blow so hard it feels like hurricane wind and when I asked a staff member if they can be turned down, she rudely said no with no further explanation. I’m assuming it’s company policy but it’s the horrible customer service that shocked me. I’ve had some staff here be very polite and helpful but this woman was just unhelpful and it felt like she didn’t want to be talked to.

I would like to State first that I've been a member of the North Augusta location for over 5 years. Today is first day that I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Usually you're greeted with a smile. Hi hello today checking in. No one at the counter was greeted with disgust and a sense of thanks for interrupting my phone time. I get that working at a gym can be boring with nothing to do and the fact that a phone is accessible to scroll during lulls of no apparent work is easy to fall victim to. But when a blackcard member notices full trash throughout the gym and emptying paper towel dispensers a long with empty disinfecting spray bottles that makes me feel that your employees could care less about the health and hygiene of the gyms patrons. There's also a case by case basis on the policing of PPE for the tanning beds 6 months no qualms about going in with no eyewear, but today I'm chastised about not knowing something that wasn't made apparent from the get go. So to address this I asked for a managers card to which they apparently have pretty sweet hours where they are able to forward their work calls back to the gym to deal with such warm and receiving front desk staff. Thanks De'Twan Lamb you and your employees professionalism was far from credible and was severely lacking. Was severely disappointed in my experience today and definitely questioning my further membership renewals

Machines seem a bit outdated compared to those at other PFs (can’t connect Apple Watch to cardio machines, a few machines consistently have broken or malfunctioning features, tanning beds look like older models, etc.) and during the summer it can get very hot in certain areas of the gym (oppressively so). Other than that it’s clean - despite the number of people who can’t be bothered to wipe their machine or read one of the many signs about it - the staff are very nice, and they don’t serve pizza (why on earth do some locations serve junk food???). The staff might be the best part of it, honestly. Give them and the person who hired them a raise! Note: I’ve been a member here since it opened and the above has been the case the entire time. It’s not a bad gym, but if I lived closer to Daniel Field or Bobby Jones I’d absolutely be going to one of those instead. All three, however, pale in comparison to some of the PFs I’ve been to in bigger cities.

Also - this is not a criticism of this location specifically - but i really miss my late night weekend sessions. I get that closing for the night saves on labor costs, but some of us who work in the service industry rely on 24/hr businesses because of our work schedules and it used to be the norm for PF and many others. Unfortunately, it seems, that is no longer a target for post-pandemic businesses besides gas stations and Waffle Houses… and you can’t lift weights at Waffle House. Trust me, I got some weird looks for that (at least they don’t have a “lunk alarm”).

Planet Fitness North Augusta is a great gym. The staff are curteous and friendly. Any questions or requests are always handled promptly. The gym and locker rooms are immaculatly clean. The equipment is always in good working order. When something breaks a sign is posted taking the piece out of service and usually it is repaired within a week or so. Three reasons I did not give PFNA a score of ten is as follows....1) There is a problem with the Air conditioning system. Of the four units cooling the building I suspect only 3 are operational. This keeps the gym area unusually warm. Especially in the summer. I go to another PF location during the summer months as it gets miseralble there with the heat. 2) A new Goodwill store opened next door to PFNA and it bring all sorts of undesireables and homeless people to the gym parking area. It can be unsafe, especially at night. I advise caution and to be aware of your surroundings "especially" at night. Finally the Summer Free Passes for high school students. I and other members resent these students. They come in and take up all the equipment and leave a mess ....for free. They pay nothing as I understand it. At least make the students aware they are guests and paying members have certain privileages that they do not while working out. Otherwise, you can't beat the gym for membership price.

I left a review 5 days ago about being overcharged for my membership and Planet Fitness did reply saying for me to email them. I visited this club while traveling to Georgia and South Carolina. I really enjoyed this club! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Even though the club is compact, it had all the equipment I liked and even had duplicates of the machines which tend to have a high demand. Whoever planned this club did a great job!

Pretty decent layout. Friendly staff. I try to attend outside of peak hours so it's never too crowded. All the machines and weights you need. I'm more into health and fitness these days, as opposed to super heavy lifting... so Planet Fitness works great for me. Only con is male bathrooms and lockers could be cleaner.

They no longer have HGTV on one of the many TVs. I watched this every time I walked on tred mill. Every other TV is news or food channel. A food channel is the last thing I want to see while at the gym. I asked the girl at the desk about it she said she told the manager. Apparently the channels have been switched. So disappointing!

The sticker by the door says 24/5. I show up to workout before work at 347 an the doors locked with a comaro parked in front of the doors. When I finally get the lady insides attention she says come back at 5. The only reason I got a membership here is for the 24/5. If it's not gonna be 24/5 I'm not going to keep my membership.
