Still 5 stars with no question. So happy to be back! Rose and Christian returned with the whole staff from what I can see! I really didn’t expect that and it was a relief! If you haven’t shown your appreciation as a company for these people you really should. They greet everyone by name well before we check in so I know they know it. They put up with everything including homeless, rudeness, and shootings. They do everything they can and most of the staff has been there for years. People think it doesn’t really matter who’s behind that desk but I could go to any gym. I can’t find these people anywhere else. There’s a woman I work out with in the mornings who has been extremely ill. She said 3 of the staff visited her in the hospital. That’s not a gym. That’s a family. This is the best planet fitness I’ve ever been to and I cannot recommend those employees or their top notch managers (Rose and Christian) enough.

The club has re-opened and it looks great! Same cleanliness, same helpful staff, some good additions to the equipment, like the FIT bench! BUT - my favorite amenity was the Total Body Enhancement. That used to be a booth, with the VibraShape platform. Now, however, it is a very uncomfortable lie-down platform. There are built-in humps for behind your knees and neck, that don't fit me at all! At least with tanning beds you could move the acrylic "pillow", depending on your height. This has no such adjustment! It was kind of awfully uncomfortable. Please bring back the other style!

Recently renovated and it looks great. Lots of free weights and more to do. This place has everything you need to work out for aerobics or strength. You can almost always find a machine to use.

Black card members can use the massage chairs, massage bed, tanning beds, etc.

Overall, I'm satisfied. I try to come at least twice a week.

Side note: They keep the gym clean.

The overall environment in the Goose Creek/St.James facility is top notch! The staff is amazing, very friendly and are always quick to resolve any customer issues. Brandon, Dwayne, and the rest of the staff are utmost professionals. Take a bow, Planet Fitness! If I have one slight complaint is that I’m not a big fan of Smith machines which PF has in abundance at most locations, I prefer free barbells, weights and benches. This is relatively minor, however, there is sufficient equipment to have a great workout no matter what, thank you Planet Fitness!

Called at different times with in 2 weeks, I ended up calling 13 times and not one soul answered. Said I could send in a letter to cancel my membership but also told me they only check they’re mail every once an a while. Y’all racking up a $189 bill when I’ve been trying to cancel it for forever on top of the fact that I never even got to use the membership not once. Horrible horrible horrible manger customer service , i understand your busy and got to things to do but STEPHANIE was very rude , i was having a issue with account with PF for about 2 months being over charged and dealing with staff acting very nonchalant , she was being very sarcastic , told me she can’t do 2 things at once and put me on hold without telling me she was , she lied and said i was recording her on the phone ??? don’t know where in the hell that came from ? I like the price and the machines, but the staff has gone downhill. They need to be trained in customer service and greet clients instead of sitting down chatting privately or poking at their phones. Also, there appears to be no enforcement of a dress code like they used to have. Several lights were out in the ladies room. It's not being maintained the way it used to be when it first opened in 2011-ish. But the machines are good and the price is good.

Probably the worst PF I’ve been to machines/equipment either doesn’t work, has buttons that don’t work, not level (so your machine is wobbling the whole time), etc. Most of the TV’s do not work at all. None of the machines work to connect to a fitness watch. If you work out here it’ll feel like you work here too! You get to clean up after others and clean machines constantly because no one here cleans them after using.

It’s OFFICIAL. This is a HOMELESS SHELTER AND UNCLEAN AND UNSAFE. Homeless have taken over the locker rooms it’s SCARY TO GO IN. The water filter for the water bottle dispenser is broken and my friend and I don’t drink out of water fountains seeing as we both got mono as children from them. So she asked for a water bottle for free which he said no to so I was already getting a Celsius and I said just throw it on my account. Then I asked if they could have someone replace it and he said a repair man has to come and I said okay (he easily could have said they have contacted someone about it) and he proceeds to tell me I am welcome to try to go fix it myself. not as nice as the other PF on Dorchester Rd., doesn't have as much equipment with a lot of unused space relative to the size of the gym (fairly small, but it has what it needs to have). the 30 minute circuit room is empty (i would assume to be repurposed). overall it is fine gym, not crowded, no issues with staff.

the irritating part is not within the staff's control, which is that machines are right up against windows facing out onto a fairly busy mall hallway so teenagers can (and do) mock people working out (and those are the only machines of that type). i am sure that is not happening ALL the time or to everyone, but there is gawking regardless because that's what people do at malls. a tough environment if you're advertising as a judgement-free zone but nothing PF can do to limit or control it when that's the setting. it feels like you are in the mall, because you are in the mall (little natural light, stagnant mall air, mall parking, chatter/noise bouncing off walls). it is what it is and there's nothing inherently wrong with that--i'm sure the convenience or energy appeals to some, but others will read this review and understand exactly why i find this to be vitally important context when choosing a gym. i will continue to primarily go to the Dorchester Rd PF even though it is less convenient for me (quite a nice PF overall, but shines in comparison).

The staff is friendly and accommodating. The facility is visibly clean. Machines are maintained and kept in good working condition. Equipment is up to date and not dated. It’s plenty of equipment to choose from to work out on. You’re not waiting in line to use anything. Locker rooms are nice. After working out you can massage those muscles and relax a little and help soothe your muscle fatigue. It’s a non judgmental environment. It doesn’t ever seem too crowded to me. It’s just a perfect place to come to reach your fitness goals.

A staff member named Rose-“Pedal” told me I was not allowed to wear my shoes at the gym stating they had to be athletic shoes. PF website states closed toed shoes, which they are. She interrupted me mid set causing me strain on my shoulder to tell me this. I’ve also mentioned broken equipment posing safety hazards to this employee several times in the past to come in day after day for weeks and the equipment still being on the floor with no signs attached or warnings. I’ve been a member attending this location for over a year and only ever found problems with this location. I’ll be switching to crunch after this whole thing because honestly I just felt harassed by somebody who can’t handle being in such a small position of authority.

This is for the employees of Northwoods Mall Planet Fitness. I've been working out at this location for almost 2 years now. I see a lot of familiar faces working at the front desk despite probably some of the craziest guests a Planet Fitness could have. North Charleston is hectic and you guys are troopers. The place is clean, the equipment is in top condition, and you are greeted and attended to in speedy fashion by some of the most patient customer service professionals in the country.
