I'm so tired of this facility on their policies it's ridiculous. First I was gonna get my membership in NC which was $1 to join and cancel anytime with no trouble. Instead I used Rock Hill gym because I worked in SC.
They charged me $10.98 to join, I cancelled in 2 days after and was still billed $30. I work to hard for my money to get robbed. Lesson learned and I would never step foot inside this rip off place again. I strongly advise you to watch the start up gimmick especially this facility.

Steven at the front desk is very unprofessional and rude with customers. I was given a tour earlier this week and came back to use the free pass for one night. The system for some reason was not allowing me to create an account so I spoke to Steven. He immediately explained that he couldn’t do anything to help me and told me I can’t work out! I seriously wanted to sign up permanently here but now I am never coming back! That is not how U attract customers Steven! Shame on YOU!

New to this location !! Outstanding Customer service ! Kudos to ( Steven I hope I got that right.. works in evening ) he went above and beyond for us today he and Manager worked out and issue we were having another club 💪🏻 . We have been to many Planet Fitness location, this one stands out the most to us ! Wonderfully clean, superior staff temperature perfect during workouts no one likes a hot stinking gym !! This gym is affordable, has great hours, a large variety of equipment and such a nice staff. The only complaint I have is that has been an up tick in other patrons not cleaning the machines after themselves. Rachel and T have gone above and beyond to showing me around the gym and answering my questions about the equipment! They greet me with a smile that brightens up the whole gym! They also ask how my daughter and I are doing! They know exactly who I am to the tanning bed I like to the drinks in the coolers everything! They always tell me about the new products and it encourages me to purchase and try some! This is my first experience going to a gym and these two ladies are the absolute best!

I have asked every couple weeks about a trainer.. I asked a few weeks ago and Finally y’all were getting one. I scheduled an appointment with her and OH MY GOSH!!! Seyven is better than amazing! She knew exactly what kind of fitness plan that she wanted to put me on after we went over several things! She designed this plan specifically for ME!!
I met with her again today! I wish I had her every day with me! She has helped me down to the exact position that my foot and arm should be in! I would be truly lost without her! I really like to go mornings but I will adjust my schedule to go when she is there!! Y’all did a wonderful job with this!! Thank you for her!!
She is also super upbeat which matters a whole lot! Her knowledge and the positive demeanor is out of this world!

The first gym ever went to . I liked it for a while but slowly started to see the issues with this franchise . I went for around 9 months every day. The people were always calling off or opening late because they didn’t want to work that day. No signs about being sick or wearing a mask if you are. Everyone stands around talking or in the phone instead of actually using the machines we pay for and working out. No one cleans the equipment after use , I can go on and on. But now they are hiring rude , racist and judgmental people I guess to show acceptance for mediocrity. I got cussed and watched a 21+ year old have a temper tantrum at 4:00 AM because she didn’t like the fact that I asked for a massage chair … this generation is done for . And this planet fitness sucks . There’s a reason it’s 15$ a month

The recent renovation at Planet Fitness Rock Hill has really improved the experience! They’ve added a new self-service kiosk machine for Black Card members, which makes things super convenient. You now have to register at the kiosk first, and it shows the earliest available time slots for the HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, Total Body Enhancement, tanning, and other Black Card perks. The setup is more organized now, and it helps avoid waiting in line unnecessarily. The gym is clean, staff is friendly, and everything looks fresh after the update. Great job, Planet Fitness team!

Excited that they remodeled and got the total body enhancement room. It’s just really sad that they won’t allow you to use it for the full time. They are limiting the amount of time that you can use it.
Most other franchises allow you to use it for 12 minutes. I was told by the front desk this franchise was told to limit usage to 10 minutes.

Planet Fitness in Rock Hill, South Carolina, like many other locations, has its pros and cons. While I don't expect everything to be perfect, I do expect great customer service. Normally, when I go there, I encounter a friendly young man—though I can’t remember his name—who is always respectful and engages in great conversations.

After playing basketball on Sunday, I decided to go to the gym for a workout. I checked the website and saw that it was open until 9 PM. I parked my car at the charging station and walked to the gym, only to notice there were only a few cars in the parking lot. I sat back and watched as a few people approached the door, only to turn around.

I called the gym to get some clarity on the situation because I was confused. I was informed that they had posted signs about the closure before it happened, which I appreciate, even though I wasn't there to see them. I was also told, “Well, anyone who has had their membership here for at least 30 days received an email about this location being closed.” Take that information as you will.

I appreciate their efforts to inform members, but I really wish this information had been posted on their website before I drove an hour to get to the gym.

I have been a member at Planet Fitness in Rock Hill for several years and I have never received emails regarding if and when the gym is closed outside of normal hours however I do get email survey emails to rate them! Seems they are more concerned about being rated then informing their customers of things regarding the facility! A great example is today I got there at 6:30 this morning only to find that they were closed which is beyond unacceptable and super inconvenient for me! If you want a gym that doesn't keep you posted on what's going on with the facility and when they are closed outside of normal hours then this is the gym for you! However if you're like me and would like to know this information I would not join!!

In response to your comment that updates and announcements are posted on the website, that wasn't the case on Friday, I did go to the website and it said that the club was open but obviously it was not and when I called to ask what was going on I could not get a live person to ask questions. I also just called to make sure the gym is open tomorrow, June 9th but could not get through a live person and I got disconnected twice! Unbelievable!

Its a good gym. The price is what keeps me here. If youre in a very strict plan and regiment, they might not have all the equipment you want/need but they have about all the machines people would want and they have a good dumbbell rack up to 75lbs, cable machines, smith machines, curl bars, etc. Ive been going to this gym for about 5 years and still have not felt like ive out grown it yet. They have recently got new plate loaded machines

They don't have a large stretching area, there's a large heavy lifting weighs machine in the way. Can you please move that somewhere else? ? Those mats are heavy. I have a shoulder issue and it was hard to lift it. It was my first time visiting. I'm sure I'll get better at it but, still. Latonya, the general manager of this club, is amazing. I transferred my membership from this Rock Hill location to another location after moving, and my new club refused to honor my current rate (even though it was written on my Planet Fitness contract). Latonya personally spoke with my new club and even offered to transfer my membership back so I could continue receiving my current rate. I am extremely impressed by her dedication to customer service - she helped me resolve the billing issue even though I am no longer affiliated with this location!

Likes: large spacious facility, friendly staff, mostly convenient hours and no "influencers" recording their workouts.
Opportunities for improvement: (1) lack of ventilation in the mens locker room, (2) realizing you want to create a positive experience for your clientele, I think your staff could more strictly enforce your own rules that you have posted in your (Rock Hill, SC) facility. Most often ignored - lengthy phone or Face Time conversations while camping out on a piece of equipment. This is only made worse by having the call on speakerphone.

If I could give a zero I truly would . I canceled my membership in June it is now November I have since moved and changed my address I received my bank statements stating they have been taking money from my account since I have canceled I called and they said there is nothing they can do about the matter I would have to mail in a letter however they can’t give me the money back bc I can’t remember who I spoke to 6 months ago . I spoke to the manger latonya and she was no help refusing to give me my money back or cancel my membership unless I come in I live 5 hours away now and can’t . I called corporate however they were happy to report the incident and take my recording of the conversation. They gave me my money back . The staff keeps it clean, it's a large gym. It's a shame so much space is "lobby" with tables and chairs when stretching space is so hard to find. I mean, who goes to the gym to sit at a table or on the couch?

My biggest beef is the music volume. Everyone is wearing earbuds or headphones, but the music is so loud it can be heard through noise cancelling earbuds playing my own choice. Why? And the volume in the locker room must be equal to the ones 20ft up in the air of the gym itself, it's deafening. Why? When all the patrons are listening to their own, or trying to.

I still give it 4 because the staff is friendly, the place is clean, and it does give me a place to jog safe from the elements with a place to sit a water bottle

If I could give this place a 0 I would! The manager is hateful they still debited my account even after I cancelled my membership and fought for over a month to dispute it I still had to pay them. The manager even after I explained why I stopped going because my husband is sick and I had to work super long hours all she had to do was refund but instead she lied time and time again! Maybe that’s why they moved her from the Morresville location. The facility for the most part is clean and the other staff was understanding but management leaves a lot to be desired even called the sister location and the young man there told me if it wasn’t canceled by the employee it shouldn’t fall on me but it does. Never will I step foot into any location that has planet fitness on it! I was even told by the company that does the payments and refunds ABC that planet fitness is the one company that has the most complaints! Wow! So absolutely not I do not recommend this location! One of the cleanest gyms I have ever been to. All of the people that work there are so easy to talk to and knowledgeable. It’s such a big planet fitness that I so rarely have to wait for machines to be available and if I do, the people that go here are comfortable if you go up to them and just ask if it’s ok if you wait for them to be done with it. Or, just focus on a different exercise machine and try to enjoy the fact that you’re healthy enough to go to the gym and put the work in.

As a gym, this place was great, but their business practices are horrible. It's perfectly fine to create an account from their app and for them to start drafting payments sight unseen. As long as they're getting paid, who cares, right? Then, fast forward a few years, and a catastrophic back injury requires surgery. There is no need for a gym membership in this condition. "Sorry sir, you have to come in and do the cancelation in person." I could not walk. I was physically incapable of using that membership even if I wanted to. "Sorry sir, but we can't cancel it unless you come in." This is one of the most cheap & parasitic business tactics imaginable. Post surgery and recovering looking for a new gym.

Wonderful staff. Clean facilities and gym. I recommend this location be upgraded, and red light therapy be added. I left in 2023 after being a member for several years due to no upgrades were completed. Gym is getting rundown and doesn't compare to options and upgraded gym near by. I highly suggest the owners review this gym for a face-lift. I left and went to Restore Hyper Wellness to be able to get red light therapy as it's very helpful to healing the body and produces collagen.

My other gym locations, in Tampa, FL and Buford, GA were absolutely wonderful and well maintained. I truly miss the atmosphere your other facilities offered. Thus coming to Rock Hill was quite disappointing. The staff again is incredible!! Please visit this location, management.
