I was only in town for a few short months but Willow at Planet Fitness made me feel so welcomed from the start. She always had a smile on her face and never failed to give a compliment or say something kind. Her positive energy is contagious and she truly goes above and beyond with customer service. I always saw her cleaning, helping others, and just being genuinely happy to be there. My time at PF was great, and Willow definitely made it even better. Thank you!!

This planet fitness stay extremely cold rather it’s morning or afternoon, summer or winter . It’s a gym , I’m expecting to sweat and can’t because I’m freezing mid workout … I’ve spoken to a team member and they stated only the manager can change the temperature but she’s not available throughout the day so I couldn’t even complete my workout.. Weather is changing & they are still blasting the AC like it’s summer time.. not everyone likes a cold gym & should be modified.

To the owner of planet fitness in Sumter…I’m not sure what’s going on with the hydro lounges but number three has been out of use for almost a month, maybe longer.and today both lounges were broken. I’m paying for the black card but I haven’t been able to use number three hydro lounge and it’s the only one I can use. My body is very sensitive to pressure and this particular lounge works well for me. Please please fix this problem. On a positive note the staff I have come in contact with are very very nice!

Favorite place to lift weights, hands down! I've tried almost every gym in Sumter, they have the best nonjudgmental atmosphere. Very down to earth and motivating. They have weight machines that tells you the exact muscles you're working

The last 6/7 times i’ve scanned at the front to use the hydro massage bed, the associates never start it and i have to go back up to ask them if it’s broken or if they forgot about me. I thoroughly enjoy the gym but this has been a frequent problem that only happens when i go at night. The staff is always nice but they are usually goofing off with each other and forget to start the equipment. Can be annoying and inconvenient.

I wish people wouldn't hold up the equipment in the 30-minute workout room. If they not doing the workout, they need to be on the main floor with the same equipment. And watching people work put in flip flops and Crocs is horrifying

I am new to planet fitness and I have had great experience here. The staff is always kind and helpful. I did my first upper body with Jamal and he was great. I am hopeful for this journey. Regaining my strength back and feeling better. I know you can’t do much about other members but when are on equipment and stop to talk on the phone or whatever they are doing and just sitting on equipment . Not a complaint just an observation .

They say you receive 1 month membership for $1.00, but they charge for the following month on the 17th no matter when you sign up and the $49.00 for the annual fee on the first of the following month. They say you can have one on one personal training but you can only sign up for a group which are all in the mornings. That’s not personal in my opinion. Other than that it is very clean but never used the locker or bathrooms.

Went into this facility last month to cancel my membership because I built a home gym and the day I went in to cancel, “the system was down”, so the worker had me write my information down on a piece of paper and said as soon as the system comes back up, that he’d cancel it for me. I just got charged again this month for it. I knew when I did it that what I was told would be done, wouldn’t get done. I’ll be going back up there yet again to make sure it’s canceled. It sucks that you have to go into the facility to cancel in the first place. Why not have an option to cancel over the phone or online or through the app?

I really just keep having problems with this place. First of all I’ve been to plenty planet fitness and this one by far is the weirdest. I usually don’t do reviews but here I go. So the spa machines was down ok cool no problem so while I wait on the ppl I came with I decided to just chill in the spa lounge area where the couch and tv is. Tell me why the young man told me because the spa chairs aren’t working that I can’t be in there sitting. Yes I do have a black card. Yes I have been a member since they opened. Jacari sorry that I chopped your name up, but I asked him just to make sure I was hearing it, right “ So just because the spa chairs aren’t working, I can’t sit on the couch where the TV is and wait and he proceeded to say no That’s not what this is for. I am very confused why have a couch with the TV and don’t allow anybody to sit in there if they have a black card it makes no sense to me. This is not the first incident, but this one was enough to make me do a review. I just feel like if I’m paying for a service I should be able to use that service. Kind of crazy to me. The systems are down again and couldn’t use anything that comes with my black card membership. What’s the point of having the membership when it doesn’t work half the time. And it’s become extremely hot in the gym. No one wants to workout in a really hot environment. I hope they fix this.

Place is clean. I joined because it states there is someone there to assist you and classes available. Well I went twice in one day as the first time going in the guy told me to come back at two and the trainer would be there and he could help me. Came back at two and the guy there at that time looked confused and finally said he would help. He had no idea how to work the machine either. People don’t join unless you know how to use the machines. You could actually do more harm than good working out without proper knowledge of the equipment. Would love to know how to properly use the equipment in the 30 minute work out zone. But have never seen anyone there to ask for a tour of that room. I would not recommend this gym to those that are new to gym life

The nicest gym in Sumter but disappointed to see it starting to go downhill. The bathrooms haven’t been cleaned for several days - paper towel dispensers haven’t been filled all week with the rolls just sitting on the counter, trash on the floor, dirty toilets, some kind of residue on the counters, shower stalls developing some kind yellowish mildew, wall trim just duct taped in place. Clothes are left in the locker room and and have been there all week. Disinfectant spray bottles have disappeared. Not sure why no one is cleaning up…seems the night shift crew should have time to do this instead of watching videos in their phones.

My experience at planet fitness was amazing. The young lady who goes by Nikki was an awesome help. She was very informative and helpful with my journey as a new member. I always see her keeping the place clean and helping others when needed. If her manger sees this please give her a raise because she definitely does above and beyond for the members here.

I enjoy and love coming and working out but the only problem I have is watching people workout on the different machines and not clean them when they are done. These people with memberships need to do better about cleaning up after they use the equipment or tanning beds, even if you use the machine for a minute.

This was a great place to workout. I drive trucks and a lot of them you can't park at. Not PF's fault it's just where they are located some parking lots are not trucker friendly. But this one has a nice size parking lot at a mall and not a lot of people were there when I went so I was able to get a good workout.

So far it’s pretty nice but I notice lots of people don’t clean off the equipment after they use it! I find that to be pretty lazy and nasty. The employees don’t seem to say anything to them either. They pretty much just stay behind the desk. So just clean it before & after you use it to be safe. Some people are just nasty. Hopefully it doesn’t get worse or I will have to cancel my membership which sucks.

Overall great gym for the price. Plenty of cardio equipment & assisted weight machines. Unless you’re into power lifting/cross fit/group classes this is the perfect gym.
