Let me start off by saying I know threatening my membership doesn’t mean anything. Even 100 canceled memberships probably wouldn’t hurt you. But what does hurt you is not having the support of your members.

Everyone is talking about a sauna, and I could honestly care less about it. But having a functional bathroom is bare minimum and you can’t even do that. Ever since this gym has been purchased, the men’s restroom hasn’t had urinals. That means everyone is peeing in two stalls that don’t appear to ever be cleaned. There is urine all over the bathroom floor. It’s absolutely disgusting. Please, raise my membership price by $10 per month and just fix the bathroom. Hanging some flags (which are a nice touch) and getting new stair masters are cool but it won’t appease everyone forever.

Horrible people and workers don’t know anything. They take money without saying anything - if you cancel just know they take another payment and they don’t tell you. They charge late processing fees and don’t tell you. Take your money elsewhere, it’ll be worth doing that.

Was in town and purchased a Day Pass.

Staff was friendly and clearly explained the Day Pass over the phone.

Gym was COLD. I cannot fathom what the electric bill must be like! Depending if you like warm, sweat filled workouts or not this could be a positive or negative.

The only "negative" was there did not appear to be much of a selection when it came to "bumper" plates for deadlifts, barbell rows and so forth.

Will likely be my "go to" gym when I visit the area.

While the gym does have everything you need and is fairly empty for most of the day, they have been promising a sauna, 24-hour access, and a cold room for months now—with none of those amenities added. I understand these things take time, but so far, all that’s been added is a new coat of paint and some StairMasters. My recommendation would be to go to Planet Fitness across the street for the time being, until they actually deliver on what they’ve been promising, because you’re currently paying more for fewer amenities.

When I signed up for this gym they talked about a sauna and 24 hour access. At this point they sold me on things they most definitely DO NOT have and no telling when/if they ever will. They will most likely be out of business and cut their losses on this location before they do what they sold us on. Sign up for Planet Fitness across the street. I did like this gym but we got sold snake oil.

I would give negative stars if I could. I tried to cancel my membership and found out there is a '30 day notice' to cancel which means you have to pay them for another month before you can cancel. I was also told I would still have to pay an additional yearly fee because the due date fell within that 30 day cancellation notice. Seems shady and almost money hungry. It's a shame MUV turned into this.

How the Muv fitness in West Columbia waits until today to basically kick everyone out and make them sign a New contract because they changed the name to Revolution Fitness. They don't even care if you have already paid for the month. It's going to be privately owned but they want $25 a month at gym that hardly has anything and still looks like muv fitness besides a few stickers. Why would anyone pay for a extra gym membership when they can just go to Muv fitness anywhere else and not come here. Planet fitness charges $10 with more than one location and more equipment. Not to mention you can still go to any other muv fitness in Columbia. It's so shady not to tell anyone until the day of. But they will let you workout today and charge you $12 a day just like muv fitness used to.

Word to the Wise! Make sure you’re really in love with this clingy boyfriend of a gym before you say “I Do” because it’s impossible to shake him loose. Take my story as a warning. Our summer fling was amazing, but it had run its course and now I had to head back home. In our last days together, he held onto me so tightly, trying desperately to keep me there. He demanded that we get together one last time, IN PERSON, before allowing me to leave. Still suspicious that I was lying about going home, he asked to see my plane tickets. It seemed a little over the top, but I went ahead and showed him. This did the trick (or so I thought) because he finally let me leave, even sending me a nice email confirming the end of our relationship and wishing me well. Imagine my surprise when 8 months later I notice that his hands are still all over my assets in his billing back office! Outraged, I tell him to stop, but instead of him doing the right thing, apologizing and honoring our official “breakup”, he greedily digs around in his offensive contractual bag of small print and pulls out some sad technicalities in an effort to not only legitimize his bad behavior since our confirmed break up, but to keep on doing it. Listen up Daniel Hatfield/Revolution Fitness/muv Fitness, it’s over boo. Move on.

Beware that if you cancel your membership after you have completed your contract term you will still be charged for a remaining 30 days and they do not remind you at the time that you cancel. You should let people know of the charges. I Want to be done with Muv fitness now known as Revolution Fitness.

The gym is small but generally meets my needs. However, equipment repairs take an unreasonably long time, even for things like TVs. The management also comes across as unprofessional, often distracted on their phones, not making sure the wet wipes are stocked, and rarely greeting members. And today, for example, the gym was supposed to open at 7 AM today, but a few others and I have been waiting, and it’s now 8:15 AM with no updates.

For GOD sake order more wipes for the equipment! I’ve been a member since 2018. This location has gone downhill consistently over time. This week no wipes for any equipment for days on end. There’s always something broken, whether it be equipment or toilets. Everything is old and nearing then end of its use. Unless this location improves soon, I plan on going to Planet Fitness across the street.

The place was nice until all the other muv gyms got sold. They constantly have no wipes to clean equipment down. Machines that are broken are never fixed (stair master hasn't been fixed in weeks). They have canceled classes and after they got rid of all the other gyms I had access to they STILL KEPT PRICES THE SAME. They only lowered it when I had to ask the front desk why I'm still being charged the same after 4 of the other gyms got bought out. Don't recommend starting your membership here, it feels like the place is gonna be closed in a month

“I’ve been a member for some time, paying over $30 a month for all-club access, which is supposed to include amenities like tanning, childcare, and group classes. However, the quality and maintenance of this gym have severely declined.
• The 3 TV has been out of order for two months.
• The hip abduction and adduction machine has been broken for months.
• Only one of the three stair climbers is functional.
• The urinals have been out of order for two months.
• The massage bed is broken.
• Tanning is no longer available because the equipment was repossessed.
• Cleanliness is a major issue.
• Childcare is unreliable due to staff shortages.

This gym also used to cover five locations, but now it’s down to just this one in West Columbia, meaning the membership fees seem even less justified. It’s frustrating to pay for services that are no longer being provided, and I’m not alone in feeling this way. Ownership needs to step up and address these ongoing issues to make it worth the membership cost again.”

Christopher at the front desk is so rude! I will never go to this gym because of him. I asked over the phone what was the procedure which he would not explain over the phone and said just come in and it'll be fine. It wasn't fine. He bothered me over the procedure and was snappy when I reminded him what he said over the phone. He said I was rude, and I asked how? For asking what I needed to bring in advance before showing up? Just to be brushed off and then showed up and hassled.

I have been going to this gym for well over a year now. Due to the buyout of all other locations, I asked if there were going to be any changes to the member prices. Shannon (I presume the manager) was extremely rude, acting like every question I asked was the biggest inconvenience to her. She was dismissive and disrespectful. Every other staff member has been extremely friendly except her throughout my time going here. Her behavior was enough for me to decide to cancel my membership and was told I had 30 days to continue coming. Today, I was told it would be my last time because she found out and was angry that I cancelled. I hope that they reconsider having her as a member of this team because she damages the image of the staff and pushes customers away.

Gym was sold and members were not notified. When I called I was told my corporate membership included the new One Life locations so I kept my membership. Now I have been told otherwise. Now I’m forced to cancel my membership because the West Columbia location does not offer any of the classes I attended. My card was charged the annual fee of $39 yesterday and they won’t refund it because they needed a “30 day notice”. Where was the 30 day notice to members when Muv decided to sell to One Life?!? I took some time to come visit this location shortly after work and David was more than helpful and allow me to see all the membership options and allow me to have a day to look at all the machinery and have a work out before making my final decision, which is really nice. The main downside, and the reason I'm not giving it more stars, is that if you're in there while there's a group class, you should abandon any plans to listen to headphones. The instructors blast the group music loud enough that regardless of where you are in the gym with your headphones on max volume, you'll hear their music over yours (this may be good for you if you're a die hard Fergie fan or like bad house remixes). Highly recommend joining this gym, but only if you have fully noise canceling headphones.

Its a okay gym if you cant make it across town to the Forest Drive or Irmo location. The West Columbia location lacks equipment (machines) to get a real bicep, chest and leg workout and the equipment they do have they only have one of it.

The facility is small and value of Customer service is even more underwhelming. I am visiting from Abu Dhabi and have friends that purchased memberships at The Great location in Sandhills Village. Gabe at The West Columbia made me feel quite unwelcomed and refused to Honor my guest pass and even asked me to leave unless. I was embarrassed and frustrated by the actions of him and Reception staff.
I would NOT RECOMMEND any friends to the West Columbia location.
Zack at Sandhills was very kind and apologetic for my experience and made me feel as though he cared as he rectified the situation to my satisfaction. If you want to join Müv, I strongly advise you chose Sandhill, as the facility and Staff are Excellent.

I joined this gym in September 2019, as a college student in the area. When I signed up for the contract I mentioned how I would be returning home (out-of-state) to my permanent residence and that I would need to cancel come July 2020. I was told that as long as I filled out the Membership Cancelation Request stating that I was relocating that as long as I provided my lease that included the move-out date that it would suffice as proper documentation to cancel my membership. I have never in my life had to provide legal documentation that I am moving more than 50 miles away from a gym location to cancel a membership. I provided the lease that stated my lease had ended, this was not accepted. I was told I needed to provide a new lease, utility bills, deed, paystub, school schedule, military order or letter from employer. I told them I do not have any of those, but I do have a registered drivers license (out-of-state), I have my voter registration card (out-of-state) I have student loans that are out-of-state, they told me none of these LEGAL DOCUMENTS were valid for relocation. I told them I was returning to my permanent residence, the address on my license, and they told me that I needed to get a change of address from USPS. I told them I never changed my address and that was not accepted. They asked for a utility bill, I moved in with my mother so everything is in her name, this would not work because It needed to be in my name. I asked if my mother could write up a lease and they told me that would not work, when in the very beginning they asked for a new lease. When they asked for a paystub or letter from an employer, I stated I did not have a job because of the pandemic. None of these are reasonable excuses to cancel a gym membership at this facility. I left two voicemails with Corporate and the woman refused to call me. I called my gym location and asked to speak with a manager. I left my phone number and the manager emails me instead. It is impossible to talk to someone on the phone. They are extremely unprofessional, throughout this entire cancelation process I have felt that I have been held hostage. The closest location to me is over 500 miles away and that still is not a valid excuse for me to cancel. This process has taken over three weeks and both the manager and corporate play email tag. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!! THEY ARE A SCAM AND WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. You are better off working out from home or joining literally any other gym. This entire process has made me never want to join a gym again. Not worth the struggle to get out of contract.

Even though this location is smaller I feel as though it is never overly crowded and I can always get to the machines I need in a timely manner. I’ve had the pleasure of utilizing the West Columbia location when visiting family. The staff was great, and I loved the variety of equipment.
My only complaint would be that Muv doesn’t have a location in the greater Nashville, TN area. I’d love to see this chain grow! I’d be a little worried about hours, though. Perhaps when they scale and make it to my area, they’ll be open 24hrs.🤞

As an overweight person, gyms make me nervous. Even being a member for years, I always feel nervous walking in. When I walked in today Fitz immediately made me feel welcomed. He was kind, helpful, and encouraging. He was opened about his own fitness journey which gave me the courage to be more open with myself to realize I need to get serious about my own journey. I left MUV feeling empowered and excited about this new journey I am starting. 10/10 would recommend the West Columbia gym!

Muv fitness West Columbia has been wonderful!!! Go and see Anthony the General Manager of this facility! He will make sure that you are well taken care of and will help you get the results you are looking for! I have been a member of several gyms and this one by far is the best!!! All the staff from Fitz, Alex, Christian and Anthony all treat all the members as family! The cardio theatre is my favorite! It’s a cool room with all my favorite films! I just signed up at this gym and I'm already in love. I was so nervous walking in but then I met Fitz. He was so welcoming, gave me a great tour of the gym and made me feel at home. Fitz introduced me to everyone, explained all the equipment to me, asked me questions and really understood what I was looking for. I have never been more excited to go back to a gym!! Everyone was so nice, the equipment and gym was very clean. I can't wait to start my new journey at MUV Fitness!!

Joined with a membership and all my questions and more were answered! Fitz gave a great tour and spoke to me about the different options available but understood I was on a specific budget. Equipment was clean and all staff were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to working out here this year!!

The gym is amazing great equipment to work with and wonderful staff at the entrance. I have kids in child care and the women in there is pretty awesome. The down sides are: I definitely felt like I was being pressured into a membership immediately that day of viewing the gym! Also the cost is very over priced and the way they draft from my account is horrible. They draft from my account every other week and they do 2 separate transactions instead just doing everything at once. Also only giving 2 stars bc anytime I try to contact someone about fees with applications I can never get anybody to call me back it’s a major hassle. And don’t get me started about trying to get out of the contract. Over all I will not being going back to this gym!

It is a disgusting place where all the employees are rude and yell at you and give you the wrong information and they steal money from your account so do not go to the establishment anymore. I was a victim for an employee the place Christopher Fitzs told me that if I went to a place alone with him and he helped me solve the problem of my membership I do not think that an employee harasses a client that way I do not think They have no respect for anyone. He knew that she was married and even though he did not care and he told me what he said and that's why I'm not going to go to a place that has that lack of professionalism establishment . I'm no the only one who thinks the same thing about you guys but also so many people tell me about they horribles experience at the gym they tell me dont go over there but I want to try If I can get better service but NO I GET THE WORST SERVICE EVER ALSO I GET HARASSED BY EMPLOYEE .

Went in here with a friend with hopes to try the gym out before considering signing up. I asked them if they had a free trial, and I was told they did for 2 week periods. The manager sat us down and acted extremely “car salesmen like” and basically insulted us by making like if werent signing up today, then were basically “mooching off” their free trial. He was insisting that we sign up immediately and said there was restrictions to the free trial... it was just a free trial? Proceeded to work out, and noticed that there were many workers circling and watching us everywhere we went. It was so uncomfortable that we didnt even get to finish our workout. Also, I wouldn’t have even signed up anyways because the equipment was worn down, there were hardly any equipment attachments, and the amenities were scarce. They mentioned a price per year and it seemed much too high when I could go to Planet Fitness down the road and pay much less, no contract, and have nicer clean equipment, and a friendlier staff. Would not recommend, and never even was a member.

Today may have been the breaking point, I got to Muv West Columbia to attend a Group X Class and the lights were off and a dozen or so people waiting or leaving the parking lot in frustration. It’s one thing that the two or more people that are probably required to be there together weren’t there to open the gym but then I tried to call corporate and no one picked up, it just went on it’s automated loop without any options to connect to anything else or leave a message. Put good in, get good out. You’re trainers will tell people that to motivate them to improve themselves, it seems this corporation could use the same advice. How can you ask someone to be at work when you aren’t willing to be there to support them much less your long time paying customers some of which who pay a fair amount extra for the group x classes. Disappointing. I have had other small issues with this gym in the past such as an obvious lack of maintenance on some equipment and annoyingly strict rules about using the group x area a short time before or after a class. Also group x instructors who are Certified Personal Trainers not having the power to make modifications to the workouts that are handed down by corporate that sometimes don’t work well for the individuals in the class. Unsure if I will be continuing with this chain but it is clear to me that this isn’t just a personnel issue it’s a leadership issue.

Did not want a membership but signed a waiver to walk through with my son and ultimately talked into signing up. The guy convinced me to join telling me if I joined the family plan with my son that tanning was included for both of us, it was not. I found this out on the one and only time my son and I visited. I called the gym and spoke with the guy"Christian" who signed us up only for him to become defensive and tell me I was lying over and over again. I called and spoke with corporate and the lady was very friendly and assured me she would be calling me back....that was weeks ago. I suggested that since I was misinformed possibly putting the first 3 payments I made in advance maybe be put on my son's account and me be taken off, I was told no and if I refused payment it would be sent to a debt collection agency. Just some food for thought

A really great gym all around. There's a pretty family friendly environment among all the staff and other gym goers. I feel there is some miscommunication at times between the local staff and upper management, however, the staff are very amicable and willing to hear the problems you may have. The equipment is pretty well maintained and the porter, Mrs. Debbie, does an excellent job keeping everything as clean as possible. The front desk workers are always extremely friendly and always greet me with a smile. The PT's are also very knowledgeable in regards to fitness, and I have had loads of great workouts with them during the group classes. Speaking of which, I would highly recommend paying a little extra for the classes if your trying to get back in shape. I'd have to give special shout outs to John, Shanea, and Jackie for being some of the hardest working PT's I've seen there! Beyond that, there are many body builders and power lifters who frequent the place that are very friendly and willing to help anyone serious about weightlifting.

On another note, don't listen to any others here talking about contract issues. No, you can't just opt out of the contract because you just feel like. It's called a CONTRACT for a reason, people. It also clearly states everything in the contract before you sign it. I guess some people forgot the old adage of reading documents before you sign them. I had no issues ending my contract once the period for it was over. In certain instances even, i.e. if you're moving really far away, they'll let you cancel it. To be honest, they were pretty straight forward in regards to the terms of the contract.

Either way, if you live in the Columbia area, all the Müv's are pretty top notch and certainly offer the best bang for your buck!

I went to the gym fine for a year and now a few month after i had been told by the worker that day that my account was closed and i didnt need to pay anymore once i finished the year amd i did it was moved over to monthly fees without my knowledge and now im being bills for like 4 months that im not even suppose to have as well as late fees

The place itself is mostly nice, however, it is practically impossible to cancel your membership when you decide too. They make you fill out a paper, wait on the phone forever, and then go online to fill out more. On top of that, when it was cancelled, it still charges for a whole extra month. Extremely displeased with the whole situation. It's just really shady of them to make it so impossible to cancel the membership. So, unless you plan on being a member literally FOREVER, I would not recommend this gym.

I enjoy muv. I usually visit muv 2-4 times a week. I've taken some of their classes, they are great. Wish it was bigger, but West Columbia location is the smallest location, but convince to my work, it's the only one I go to. Great employees, and definitely take care of their regular goers. Also has child, which is why I chose muv over planet fitness.

New Equipment, but most of the hammer strength machines have been installed incorrectly (handles aren't symmetrical so one arm has to reach further than the other). It also lacks a few things other gyms have I.e. Water fill-up station, automatic flushing toilets, weight belts, dumbbells higher that 100 lbs, and floor length mirrors in the squat and dumbbell area. Just things that I'd like to have, that every other gym I've been to has. Other than that I enjoy the atmosphere there and get solid workouts in. Staff is also very nice, but there is a lack of communication with management. None of the staff walks around the gym to help clean up weights or just to offer assistance, I actually had to hammer in a bearing into a broken machine with a plate that was just laying on the ground. I wouldn't mind paying an extra couple bucks to see some of the material things be put in like heavier dumbbells etc..
*Update, they have a water fill-up station now.
