Slow & Wild is a Sensual Movement Studio for women. We practice on Sensory Mats – 6-foot round padded faux fur rugs atop the same size yoga mat – encouraging each woman to slow way down, attune to her senses, and take up space unapologetically. This practice is an antidote to our culture's pervasive and oppressive Good Girl Conditioning. Our classes combine fluid, undulating yoga and dance movements with somatic grounding exercises (somatic means "of the body") that calm the nervous system and create a sense of safety from the inside out. This primes us for deeper presence, more aliveness, and the reclamation of the feminine in her full power and range.
Childcare is available through Creative Minds Preschool (mornings only) next door.

June ‘24 I went to Slow & Wild for an Open House. Walking in the front doors I immediately noticed the energy was welcoming, feminine, open, chill. Intrigued I entered the studio space. Dimly lit, circular fluffy mats on the floor, other women curiously looking around to learn what this place was all about. Then Kris welcomed us, an open hearted glow and so grateful for our presence. The vibe was 🔥. As we rolled around on her specially designed sensory mats, she invited was to feel into ourselves, ask what our bodies want. Kris spoke of embodiment, self reclamation and returning to our inner feminine space that we’ve learned to hide from the world (perhaps every woman recognizes the inner sensation of censoring herself for her own safety.) I teared up and thought, this feels risky and somehow I feel at home. I didn’t understand everything she was saying but my body understood it was exactly what I was looking for. I felt an inner pull and craving and knew it was something I needed.
So I returned. For Yoga Flow, for Choreo, for Unleash, for all the offerings Kris so thoughtfully curated to invite me to come home to myself.
It’s been 13 months and Slow & Wild has become a home for my strong and fragile feminine heart. The women there have become close sister-friends, led lovingly and skillfully by Kris’ beautiful example of not competing with each others energy but complimenting it and blending all our energies together to feed and heal us all. It’s effing magic.
It’s been years since I felt fully at home in my body. Kris helped me learn to feel safe, to feed my inner self and care for my body. I’d had my body on lock down for decades. Careful not to make sudden moves or draw attention. Now my hips are fluid, back pain is gone, I’m as flexible as in my teens. I dance with these women with joy. But the real gift is I now have embodiment. Being fully alive in my own body, not numbing or avoiding looking at it or speaking badly to myself in my head.
Walking the beach this summer is when I recognized and registered my inner change. I spent an entire day on the beach in my bikini and enjoying the sun. Not once did I compare myself or feel self conscious. Upon reflection I realized I haven’t been this content to just be myself in years. I feel like my body has changed. Even though the bikinis are the same. So what really changed is my relationship to my body. And how happy and grateful I am to inhabit it and just be myself. Be my home.
If there’s a part of you curious or yearning to check out Slow & Wild, please honor yourself and come join Kris and us on her Sensory Mats. Her work and guidance will lead you home to yourself. You just have to choose to show up.

This was an absolutely amazing class. The studio is beautifully decorated, clean, smells great, has incredible ambiance and the sensory rugs are plush and luxurious.
Kris is fabulous. She was welcoming, down-to-earth and great at explaining what to do and expect and guiding us through the process - Which was great because I’d never done anything like it before.
Highly recommend! You’ll love it

Slow & Wild had been on my radar for awhile, but seemed like between getting the flu in January, traveling and work schedule…something kept coming up that was holding me back. Last week, I committed to showing up for myself. I did and immediately felt at ease and like I belonged. Kris had been patient with me in the times I had to cancel or reschedule and was so welcoming and authentic and the community is real and supportive. No one is treated like a “new person”. It felt like instant sisterhood. Tonight, I brought my friend and she felt the same freedom in the practice. We’re both so grateful for this highly therapeutic and sacred space. Thank you, Kris!

This studio is like a second home to me! I have been attending pole dance private lessons at the studio with Kris. The technique and attention to the very small details has been very helpful on my pole dancing journey. The floor movement to pole brings out your goddess energy which I really enjoy. It’s nice to be embodied again! I highly suggest Pole Privates with Kris at Slow and Wild 💗

This is my 3rd class and I’ve enjoyed every single one. Kris is a great teacher with a soothing voice. I like the slow movement flow, the music, the dimmed lights, the sensory mats, the aromatherapy, the small size of the class. I also enjoy the journaling at the end of the class and the shared thoughts from other members of the class, where you get a sense of community.

This class was the best thing I've done for myself in the name of self care in a long, long time. Kris is the sweetest human with the biggest heart and this studio is unlike any other. It's hard to even explain the whole experience with words- the aromatherapy, the music, soft lighting, the furry sensory mats, the tea(!), - just being in the building is a calming experience.
The stretches were deep and intentional and helped me release so much emotion and tension in my body. Kris is so passionate about helping women and has created this safe space for sisterhood that I truly don't think exists anywhere else. Im telling you, it's better than therapy! 10/10, all of the stars, all of the thumbs up- its a yes from me. GO! DO IT! Trust the experience and go. Its incredible!

I'm so grateful for Kris and this amazing studio she's created. Her classes go so much deeper than physical movement, they are an opportunity to tap into the sacred feminine and heal through expression and play. I'm so glad to see a space and community like this in Charleston, it is much needed!

Slow & Wild is like nothing you have ever experienced. Get ready to step out of your comfort zone in the most safe and pleasurable way. Kris’s teaching skills are easy to follow and her years of experience make her classes the most incredible. This is the first studio that I crave going to. It is a true place to create a community and a sisterhood of women. You will feel at home here.

I am SO grateful a place like this is open in Charleston. I feel safe to be ALL of myself here. Sometimes that means shining bright and stretching to learn the sexy choreo. Sometimes it means showing up tender hearted or feeling frumpy and getting into my body anyways. Sometimes it means noticing my self judgements or comparisons and letting them go. Growling my fire or laying on the soft fuzzy mat letting some tears go. Facing myself in the mirror with love, no matter what I feel or think in that moment, is so intimate and healing. We throw around the word self-love like we’re all supposed to know what that means. Even more than a movement studio, this is a studio that gives you specific tools for actually doing self love, and then sharing it with a community of supportive and open hearted women on top. A healing journey of a dance practice! Every woman who wants to feel more alive, more radiant, more at peace with herself, more turned on should absolutely give Slow and Wild a try!

Walking into Kris's Slow and Wild Yoga Flow is like stepping into a cozy cave designed to soothe the nervous system. From the moment you enter, you're greeted by a sweet scent and Kris's equally sweet smile.
The studio provides ample space for each person to move, breathe, and be 100% themselves. Kris strikes a perfect balance between offering guidance and encouraging freedom of movement exploration. Don't be fooled by the relaxed atmosphere; this class is also a workout that targets your core, hips, booty and more!
I walked in feeling one way and left feeling like I stepped into a new body after the 75 minute class (which flew by!). If you're on the fence about trying this class, stop thinking and just go experience it for yourself!

Highly recommend! I took the Choreography (floor) class. I have no dance experience and was able to learn the routine.
This was a little outside my comfort zone and I'm so glad I went. Kris's unique energy and presence was the secret sauce...she was soft yet excited and it put me at ease. I'm so grateful she is offering this and I get to learn from her gifts.

Book a class!
Kris’s energy and presence is intentional, welcoming, and disarming; inviting you to drop completely out of your head, and totally into your body through your heart to experience a true more natural level of intimacy with you and all that you are —as you are.
Slow and Wild Studio is safe space to explore and deepen your connection with your body while moving in ways that awaken you yo your natural state of aliveness while allowing you to release trapped energy.
I love that she invited us to meet in that field Rumi writes about in one of his poems—the field out beyond the ideas of right & wrong. This is where we can explore and experience the truth.
Thank you Kris!!

Finally, the studio I've been waiting for!! Kris is an amazing teacher who has created something truly unique and special. I loved getting slow and wild with an intimate group of women in a safe space where I could get in touch with my playful and sexy side, feel bold and beautiful, and connect with myself in the mirror. As an added bonus it was a great workout too! My arms and legs were definitely feeling it the next day. Can't wait to come back and try the other yoga and dance classes. You definitely can't put this practice in a box, come and try it out for yourself
