Southern Cheer Elite is an awesome place for girls to cheer! We actually started out at their dance company, Southern Dance Connection, when my daughter was 3. We stayed for a few years and had a great experience. We left to pursue professional gymnastics and returned to explore their cheer. We are so glad we did. Amber is a phenomenal coach that cares about each girl on the team. Lindsay (the owner) was the main reason we joined SDC. She has built a company that for almost 20 years now has had incredible growth with an emphasis on the whole child. More than just great dance and cheer, the girls have learned to give back to the community as well as positive character traits. My daughter is now 11 and we have completed one year of cheer and plan to sign up for another. Highly recommend!

This is our 6th year with SDC. Both of my girls have been in multiple dance classes as well as production team and cheer team. They have been so instrumental in growing my girls as dancers, cheerleader and tumblers. I love how the teachers and staff focus on not only great dancing but being great people. They foster great leadership, responsibility and caring hearts in there students.
I truly feel like they are part of our family now. They mail birthday cards on my girls birthdays. They even send out Mother's day cards to the mom's. This is such a small token, but has made such a big impact out on our hearts.

I can not thank the staff here enough for all they have done for my daughter. We just moved here this past Summer from out of state and it wasn’t easy on my daughter leaving friends and family. They welcomed her with open arms. She has learned and grown so much. She has made friends and it’s been an absolute blessing that we found this place!!!

I cant express how great my family has been treated by the sce corporation. This is my daughter's 3rd season here and we absolutely love it! We were transplants from Ohio and the staff immediately took us in even though routines had already been started since we moved in the middle of September so my daughter didn't have to miss doing what she loves. It is a breathe of fresh air to know we are a part of a studio family and not just a number. The staff and owners know every kid and parent on a personal level and it is more than just a studio, it is a family. They teach morals, respect, and values my daughter will carry on throughout her whole life with their free star leadership program. I highly recommend the dance and/or their cheer platforms for anyone looking for more than just a studio or gym!

They seem to only be focused on the Cheer team or any group that is only in competitions. Routines are never practiced enough before recital either and routines get changed many times before performing, so you never get to see how great they actually are when you're paying so much to see them on stage. Also, payment gets drafted every month and they keep trying to say that they haven't received a payment in 6 months when I know it has been. Its came out of my bank account every month by auto draft. And not 2 months ago I was told the system is incorrect and that it's paid up.
2 stars because the girls love Coach Kendall and she was great!
Edit to response: We will pull our bank statements to show payments have been made since we've heard back and still showing that we owe.

If you are looking for a relaxed, informal, studio that focuses on a good time rather than dance technique and excellence this studio is perfect. Over the course of a dance semester I realized that this studio did not focus on teaching ballet. Many classes were spent doing hair, trying on costumes, or doing free dance while the teacher was taking a call. After many months of frustration it all came to a grand finale during the final performance where not one class knew their dance routine! If you are looking for a studio where dance is professionally and systematically taught this studio is not for you!

We LOVE Southern Dance Connection! I’ve had two girls attend SDC and they have loved it. Both my girls really liked being in Ms. Taylor’s class and my youngest will be in her class when she is old enough. My middle has loved being in Hip Hop with Mrs. Lindsey and is excited to do it again next year. We love being apart of the SDC family.

We really love SDC! The thing that appealed to me when we first switched to SDC is that all of the staff at SDC is very organized with everything that they do. We love our teachers Ms. Taylor and Mrs Lindsey.

Ms. Taylor is very patient with all of her kids, and makes them feel comfortable. In my (shy) daughter's own words is that Ms. Taylor makes her feel comfortable enough to ask questions.

Mrs. Lindsey is so kind and very helpful. My daughter loves having Mrs. Lindsey for Acro. My daughter is not only learning new dance skills, but she is also learning how to be part of a team.

We absolutely love South Dance Connection! My daughter Bristol is in her second season with Mrs. Lindsay in the tutu and tumble class! This is my girls first year with SDC. They love coming to dance each week and are so excited to show me what they have learned. Miss Taylor is so patient and kind to the kids and does a wonderful job teaching rambunctious young ones while managing to keep it structured. I'm very impressed with the amount of technical ballet and tap terms my 6 year old knows. I also love the amount of positive encouragement and teamwork that is instilled in the students!

Before I came to SDC, I had never danced before. I would always dance around the house as a little kid. I wanted to be a real dancer. Dancing has always moved my heart and made me feel grounded. It is a way for me to express not only myself but also my spirituality. I first started when I was 13, in February of 2021, I believe. I was very behind. It was definitely hard for me to fit in, and I saw all these other girls with connections, friends, and clicks. All these girls have been dancing their whole lives, and I do not blame them for wanting to stick together. But, I will say, Ms. Taylor is not only one of the best people I know but also the best teacher. She helped me feel like I belonged, even when things were rough. She never treated me differently. She isn't one of those teachers who picks favorites and treats everyone else differently. Sure, there are probably students who she prefers, but she never made me feel that way. In just two years, I have grown so much. I have worked to be where I am, and I am still growing. I couldn't have done it without Ms. Taylor. She's really busy; she does a lot. She somehow manages her personal life, dog, and career at the same time, but even with all that, she has managed to be such a good person through all the stress. And you know, my life has never been easy. I've been through a lot, but something that always helps me through it is knowing that on Wednesdays and Mondays I get to try my best to become a better dancer, that I will see a few friends, that I will see Ms. Taylor, and that I will do the thing I love the most, which is dance. I just hope Ms. Taylor knows how truly life-changing she is. Sure, some days I do not feel like dancing; I could be tired or just overall not feeling well mentally or physically, but I know that this is not only something I do for fun but for passion. This is my job. I have big dreams for my life, but ballet will always be a part of those dreams. I have been through a lot in my past, and recently I went through another thing as well. I was in a car accident and almost died. I'm not fully healed from that, neither mentally nor physically, but the thing that made me feel okay, especially in the last couple of months afterward, was knowing that soon I would be back at dance. I still tried my hardest. I had missed more than a month of dance and had lost progress, but I pushed through that, and it made me a better dancer. So, I hope Ms. Taylor sees this and knows that not only did she make me grow a lot more and helped me get through the hard times, but she also made her ballet class feel like home.

We’ve been with SDC for 7 years now and our daughter loves it’s so much. Ms Meredith has been such a fun Hip Hop teacher this year. My daughter has danced here for many years and started performing with SDC's competition teams the last two seasons. She loves every minute of her classes, rehearsals, and performances. She's had the privilege to work with many teachers through the years. They are very knowledgeable and make sure to make things fun too! Her current teachers: Miss Meredith gets right in with the kids during the dances in class and loves to get silly with them. Miss Amber teaches discipline to the kids but always sets aside time for fun. Miss Taylor knows how to relate to the kids with her fun and wacky hairstyles and outfits. We love our dance family at SDC!

They always provide the best age appropriate costumes for the dancers. I wouldn’t take my daughter anywhere else.
