Played yesterday, course should have been closed due to so much rain . Horrible conditions because of . Staff should have mentioned how bad conditions were and that all holes were cart on Path Only ! No discount given and was not told , decision to play should have been mine if told . On normal condition I love the course. Today it was under Water.

7/10 conditions, greens still mostly dormant but rolled true, fairways a little thin but overall solid. Layout is nothing spectacular but also no bad holes. Staff is unfriendly and bordering on rude.

The Hackler 18th green can be very challenging on your approach shot due to the slope dropoff into the water. What made our day more enjoyable was having Jennifer attending the beverage cart. She never stops circling the course, has hot dogs on hand, and most of all she made sure to have coffee on this brisk morning.

The course was fine. A bit too redundant with right dog legs. Carts are in very nice shape. I will say the cart return person had a real attitude. I'm sure it was a college kid but that doesn't excuse it in my book. The signage was confusing as to where to return them and he came out barking at everyone to get the carts around the hedge. There is a nice way and a jerk way of doing that. I've actually never experienced that at any Myrtle Beach course before.

A nice facility for Coastal Carolina. A new clubhouse being built will be a nice addition. The staff is friendly and helpful.
I give the course only three stars due to fairway conditions. There were so many unfilled divots. My partner and I went through five bottles of sand. If there was a rack on the course we would have done another five more. It just made the course look horrible.
The bunkers and greens were in good shape and rolled well with the exception of unrepaired ball marks.
It's unfortunate that some golfers either refuse to or are just plain too lazy to respect the course.

The employees were nice and accomidating. The course was in pretty good condition all around and played for a fade usually. The greens seem to roll true but there were what looked to be hole size cup stoppers made out of some man made material that if in the way of your putting line hinders the put. This would force not compliance to USGA rules if you move your ball. The course should be playable to the rules of golf.
UPDATE: Got a response in two days which is a record. The person gave a good response that made sense but I would not reccomend a course add the cap plugs. Thanks so much for a course to have real good respectful staff. I changed my 3 stars to 4 stars because of the speedy reply.

Nice track and discounts for seniors, veterans, and first responders. Lots of doglegs, nice consistent greens runnin at 9, and wide fairways. Theyβre doing some work on tee boxes, but dosent interfere with play. Nicest carts Iβve seen on the Grand Strand and cheapest concession/beverage cart prices. Has driving range, putting, and chipping greens. Would highly recommend for mid to high handicaps.

What a great course. The rough is a little...well...rough. (It's brown as a consequence of the season.) It can be a challenge to find a ball in the rough, but there's a solution: stay in the fairway.
The greens were fast, and a little beaten up, which is a consequence of golfers not repairing their damage. Still, it's a lovely course, with some challenging features.

We travelled from Quebec Canada to play golf in Myrtle Beach at the beginning of January. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed by Hackler Golf Course. GPS and Bluetooth speakers in cart, course was in amazing conditions, food at the turn was good and all staff was courteous and friendly. I would definitely go back. Best value golf course in the area. $45 CAD for 1 person. And $30 replay.

Played the course 4/20/23, I haven't played there is a while. I did not think it was worth the $60 green fee. The fairways and tees were not plush at all, a lot of different grasses/weeds and spotty conditions. The greens were good and traps also in good shape. Fairly wide open fairways on most holes. There are many courses in much better shape for $20 less.

I had a surprise family member visit who wanted to schedule a last minute tee time. Looking back I wish I did not get a tee time here. The course seemed to be run by all college kids and if they have dreams of working in the hospitality industry they might want to take Hospitality 101. Paid 9 dollars for a small bucket of driving range balls. Normally would not mind paying that but, no drivers allowed and had to hit off mats. I would think a college school that offers PGM degree would have a better practice facility. The course was in fair shape, greens were ok at least the ones that did not have temporary plugs all over, and a few tee boxes lacked anything close to what could be called grass. Fairways had lots of weeds and crabgrass. GPS carts were horrible. My cart continued to advise me that I was in a restricted area when I was on the cart path or in the middle of the fairway 150 yards away from the green. Snack Bar was lackluster at best, we arrived at 10:40 mid-round and were told that it would be 20 minutes until lunch service would begin. Not to hard to throw hotdogs on a roller or have pre-made sandwiches ready for lunch time. Lastly, I never played a course where the maintenance workers would stay in the middle of the fairway when they see a group teeing off. I worked in the golf industry for 7 years and customer service is paramount for success, sadly this course fell short on all aspects. After this experience I will certainly not be playing at the Hackler ever again, there are many more choices that will offer a better overall experience.

Well maintained, fun to play, the people are all very nice, cart paths are brand new we had a very good experience.
Food is great in the grill, and the staff is very friendly. Especially Katie who is a Navy veteran and recent graduate of CCU.
A couple of opportunities for improvements:
-After so many years of filling divots most of the tees are not flat, but are crowned.
- I'm sure it's in the planning somewhere, because their carts are all electric, now the parking lot needs to have electric charging stations.
- The GPS system in the golf carts malfunctioned at least twice while we were using a cart. I'm not really sure why the Hackler course has a GPS system at all. When it malfunctioned, both times it told us we are in a restricted area when we were on the correct cart path for the correct hole.

Best greens I have played in a long while. The pace of play was good. The fairways and tee boxes were overseeded and the rye grass was long....needed cutting, but I understand why they are letting it fill in. Staff very friendly and accommodating. They had some tough pin placements today! The GPS computers were a nice touch. I look forward to playing it again.

Golf course was in beautiful shape. Very well maintained. GPS screens in cart and entire course is GPS. Get to close to greens, screen will show entering restricted area, and will shut you down. This is how they keep the course in great shape. Only complaint is, you go from fairway to and extremely deep thick rough. You must be accurate with your tee shots, but thatβs golf. Will definitely want to play here again!! Pro shop staff was ok friendly. The college fella getting carts and clubs for you was very nice, friendly, and very welcoming. Greeting you as you walked up to store your bags. Wish they would have water coolers on some of the holes. Be sure to bring your own water. I donβt consider my statements complaining, just an observation.

Played on Sunday 7/31/22 - course was in good shape. The greens were on the slow side and rough was extremely high, even difficult to find your ball around the green.
Would love to see them keep the greens around 10-10.5 stimp and keep the Bermuda rough a bit closer to 3". Greens were rolling around 9 stimp and in my opinion that's just too shaggy for Bermuda in summertime.
Otherwise this is an awesome course and decent value compared to other courses in the area. We will be back next year!

I made a trip down yesterday for my daughter to take a test for her CNA test. I had a little extra time so I needed something to do. I was talking to the outside staff and decided to walk in the Pro Shop to look around. After receiving a text about it was going to take a little longer for the test I decided to play a round. After playing the course I was impressed with the course and the staff. Staff was very polite and helpful for getting me on for a round!!! I will be back to play again!!!

Overall good service and best food on campus. Only reason it's 4 stars is because they take away times you can use meal swipes for HIGHSCHOOL COMPITITIONS. I have paid plenty on my meal plan and it's already unacceptable enough that CINO isn't open on weekends, but to take away times when paying students can get food that they've paid for is completely unacceptable.
Edit: Stepped into Hackler to grab lunch to find out that students have to wait until paying golfers have ordered, even if you have been waiting in line longer. I'm sorry what! How are you going to tell students who have prepaid for food that they have to wait until all of the old golfers leave even if they have been waiting in line for longer. This is a COLLEGE CAMPUS, not a retirement home where anyone other than paying students get priority. I in no way am blaming the workers, they are always phenomenal and friendly, this just sounds like the plot of a corrupt higher up pig at coastal who only wants to stuff their pockets and benefit off students.

Played with the Dragons today and was I pleased with the condition and challenge of this course. First time I've played it and was told by someone , not a member of the Dragons, he played the course a few years ago and didn't like it....Man is he a pickle short of a full jar. It's in great shape and really challenging. Short par fours , as well as long ones, dog legs that make you think about your game, not just the same ole club on each hole. Can't wait to play it again. Don't miss an opportunity to play this course.

Have always enjoyed the Course and Facilities. The exception being the new Satellite Controlled carts. This is what Robot Hell will be like. They were programmed to keep you off of over-seeded fairways which is fine. Problem is if you get to close to a fairway but still in the rough it shuts down, too close to out of bounds and houses, it shuts down, circle the green complex in rough to get to other side, it shuts down. It was the most annoying thing I have experienced on a Golf Course in 40 years of playing.

I like it it is what it is its mostly for the Ccu golf team if you're someone else you better call first and make sure before you come down or you'll waste some gas like me nice greens I like the course and driving range but 3/4 last times I drove there driving range was closed for them so its smart to call up and see before driving out. its no quail hollow or TPC sawgrass but its nice for a Conway SC course, it is what it is

I played here twice back in July. I thought it was great course for golfers of all skill level, with wide open fairways since on both occasions I only played nine I did not get to experience the front 9. Overall it was a great experience. I left my head covers in the cart after the first round when I walked in the next day they said we think these belong to you. All in all the staff was great mostly the kids from the college work there. Going back down at the end of October and I will be playing the again. This time hopefully all 18 since it will be much cooler than July

Very disappointed with this golf course. Yes, Hurricane Matthew did a lot of damage but they should have moved the golf tournament somewhere else. There were several people upset due to there were not enough golf carts for everyone. Why would you have a state tournament where there is not enough golf carts? I was told if they had paid $50.00 in advance they could have reserved a golf cart! What about the people that can't afford that! Sounds like price gouging to me. The bathrooms on the course were dirty/nasty and in need of a remodel. The bathrooms looked like a 1980s campground bathroom. Maybe take that money from those overpriced golf carts and update those bathrooms. Overall, I was not impressed with this course. They need to clean and update this place!
