We treated our team of 10 to a private Deep Stretch class at The Works, and Tara made the entire process incredibly easy. From our first inquiry to last minute changes, everything felt smooth and thoughtful. The Works team was quick to respond and made sure we had all the information we needed.
Special shout out to Khalid who was an amazing instructor! He created a comfortable space for a group of professionals who were definitely outside their usual routine, and he guided us through the class with patience and encouragement. The music set the perfect tone, and the feedback from our team afterward was even better than we hoped.
Thank you for giving our team such a meaningful experience during a very busy season - It was the perfect way for us to step away from the office and reset together. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough about my love for The Works. The Mash-Up is the most amazing class. If you feel like yoga is too slow, boring, and not enough cardio/sweat - this place is for you! The energy is contagious and the instructors are funny and fun. The music is on point - it either brings me back to my youth or introduces me to new artists I love. If you are looking for a good time and a great workout, I highly recommend The Works!

I couldn’t post on ClassPass after my class but -
I’m in love with Khalid and his classes. He has a great way about transferring good energy and vibes into your soul. The 4pm vinyasa on Fridays is one of my go-to classes and the one I love the most about the works downtown. Your kind heart and soul is breathtaking and doesn’t go unnoticed! Thank you for all you do, Khalid!! 🩷🩷

I’ve not had the pleasure of visiting the SC studios, but I have been on two retreats in Mexico with The Works. Once in 2022 and again in 2024.

I felt compelled to leave a review after reading a few less than stellar ones, which surprised me. To be fair, I get where the ones who are not “regulars” are coming from. I have no doubts classes are tight and the people are woven together….that’s a methodical design by Sarah and there’s a reason for that. (Get in the room) I hear those saying “it’s not your traditional yoga class”….but it’s not intended to be. What The Works offers is so much more than just the traditional yoga class. GREAT NEWS for those wanting that: Check out the new The Works: Renew Studio.

Here is what I can tell you. I do not practice yoga. I couldn’t hold a candle to the skill set of the person to the R and L of me at class on the retreat. My body type does not resemble what the perception of a The Works body type is…but I never felt less than or judged by any of the 30+ pairs of eyes in our daily classes on the retreat. When eye contact was made, it was with looks of acceptance and unity and love.

The founder, Sarah, and her brilliant crew are the crème de la crème. In studio and in life. Carter is the real deal, Alex is the full Monty, Meggie is the potion in the flowtion and Molly is a tiny but mighty presence I never knew I needed.

Though I have only experienced a hand full of The Works staff personally, I know the rest of the team is just as solid.

If you are in Charleston and have the opportunity to open your heart, mind and ears for a hour, I would recommend getting into a class at The Works. Trust me when I say you don’t need to know how to do yoga to walk away from a class with your cup past full…and your shirt drenched too.

If you are looking for a generalized fitness studio, you may love The Works, but if you want to not only workout but also extend your yoga practice, this is not where to go. The class I attended was so packed, it was impossible to do certain poses properly without having your neighbor’s behind in your face. The instructor was also demeaning and shamed people for struggling or for taking pauses, which seemed inappropriate especially in a class advertised for all levels. In addition, pop hits blasted through the speakers and the instructor walked around the room speaking into a mic. The class resembled a spin class more than a yoga class; the core of what yoga is was completely missing. All that being said, there are those who very much enjoy this style of studio and class environment, which is why it has generally positive reviews, but I found it to be an unpleasant experience.

I really like these classes but I don’t love that all the teachers start a couple mins late and end early. It’s never actually a full hour class.

Nice studio but they pack in way too many people. It’s impossible to do anything without touching somebody or having them touch you.

Also, they charge to use towels, mats, and yogitoes if you ever forget any of them.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but sadly, my experience was mixed. My co workers convinced me to try a class here and I was excited! I moved to Charleston less than a year ago and am looking for good classes to get back in shape post baby. They don’t have parking so I parked around the corner in a paid garage. I tried calling multiple times before going downtown but when I arrived they said they don’t have a phone which I find odd. I got there early because I don’t like to be late and the girls at the desk were kind of rude in their tone and gave me mean girl vibes. They even said “oh..you’re not from Charleston? Where are you from?” But like not in a friendly way in a different tone. I felt so uncomfortable I asked to use the restroom and they pointed at a hallway with several unmarked doors so I escaped to the restroom until my friends got there.
The actual class was good, but extremely crowded to the point that feet were in my face and I couldn’t stretch fully because there wasn’t enough room. The instructor doesn’t show the moves at all, only talks on a mic and walks around so you will have to watch the other class members to know what to do. The studio is really cute and the music is good. It’s very Instagrammable and trendy. I definitely won’t be back because of the general vibes I experienced, and I prefer places that make me feel comfortable and safe, but I’m glad I gave it a try.

I take The Works class with Molly every Sunday morning. Molly has an incredible talent of grounding you and simplifying the practice. She is extremely clear in flow and communication style that lands you in your body. I left today feeling extremely open and aligned with where I am headed for my week. Thank you Molly and the Works for holding space and giving so much in return! ❤️

Charged my card without my consent. I was interested in attending classes but it would never let me schedule it, always saying there was an error in my booking. I was charged anyway. I've called several times and left messages with no response. I feel like their business model is to profit without ever communicating or helping their customers. Really annoying.

Amazing classes -leave you in a better mood and with a good sweat however don’t try to call or reach out on social media but you won’t get a response and if you show up to class even two mins late the door will be locked!
Reply to reply-I completely understand your policies but I attempted to call for a heads up on my two minute delay and no one answers the phone-and I have messaged your social accounts and never gotten responses-please understand I love your classes but this again makes it tough to communicate with your team about lost and found water bottles, running a minute late or something else!

I was in town and decided to try this place out. Did hot yoga for the first time and boy let me tell you, WHAT AN AWESOME WORKOUT AND AWESOME TIME! Molly was our instructor and it being my first time ever, seriously couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. She welcomed me as soon as I walked in, asked my name and knew I was a first time guest right away, had my a locker with my name and things set up for me. I felt SO welcomed, it was extremely inviting. I cannot wait to come back into town just to go back. This wasn’t just a workout, she inspired me in so many other ways, especially mentally. Can’t wait to come back!

Not from the area, The Works was recommended to me. I still gave it 5 stars, but parking is tough. Get there early enough to find a free spot in residential, or pay. No biggie, I found it free. I wouldn't say the music was too loud, but there were times when I couldn't hear the instructor. With that said, I still give it 5 stars. Maddie brought a great flow...and the heat!! I highly recommend giving them a try.

I was visiting from Delray Beach Florida and used to my wonderful hot yoga studios in search of somewhere I could practice in Charleston. I found the works and had the most amazing class. I was smiling and happy throughout the entire class, the instructor Susan had the absolute best energy and I got exactly what I needed. The studio is beautiful and clean, the energy was very welcoming. I highly recommend it will definitely return! <3 ;-D

The Works offers a truly challenging, fun, and motivational group fitness. I have been going to both the yoga and cycling studio since they opened and my experiences at both places have always been positive and enjoyable. The workouts themselves have always been therapeutic for me and there is a true sense of community in the room. The instructors are dynamic and versatile in their teaching styles, and all of them are caring and approachable people. I highly recommend Katie P for a cycling class or Mimi for a Deep Stretch or rigorous Vinyasa flow if you are curious to check them out! You will not regret it (:

Best group fitness experience! I’ve been going to The Works for years since before they officially opened and have never been so consistent with a work out. All of the teachers are awesome. Every class is different, but somehow it’s all cohesive. I can genuinely say I enjoy going to these classes and miss the studio when I’m away for too long. That’s how it should be! So far, I’ve never come across another fitness studio like it. It’s completely approachable, yet they push you to work hard all while listening to your body. Definitely give it a try if you haven’t yet!

I’m a huge fan of The Works. I attended 10-15 classes while I lived in Charleston for a month.

Things I liked:
(+) Intensity of workouts: Each class pushes you to your limits. I never left thinking I could’ve pushed myself much harder.
(+) High energy environment: The room is really well-designed (mirrors, acoustics, lighting) and there’s a strong communal vibe you feel when you’re surrounded by others in this space.
(+) Quality of instructors: Overall they were fantastic. I particularly loved Mimi’s classes as I thought she struck a perfect balance between intensity and meditation, in addition to inspirational speech and quiet reflectiveness.

As far as feedback I would offer to take it to the next level, I would consider ways to accommodate a wider range of class preferences. I personally like vinyasa yoga classes which are more meditative with less intense music, dimmer lights, and less talking from instructors. Even in the Deep Stretch, there is a lot of sermon-style talking from instructors. While it’s often inspiring, I’d prefer more introspective offerings which are still active. Additionally, I would prefer to have more pure yoga options which have fewer HIIT-style exercises.

Wow, I just took a spin class from Blake Chapin two days ago, and I had THE BEST workout. His energy was electric, and I can't wait to go back. I'm not a person who is typically into spin class. I've been in the fitness industry for a long time, competed in shows, and now a health coach and run a food prep business with my fiance, so fitness is my life. And I was blown away by the high I felt after leaving his class. So needless to say, I'll be going back to his class Monday and signing up for a membership. Thanks to Blake he turned my spin class experience into an addiction!

I have been doing The Works (both downtown and Mt. P) for a few months, and every class is great, HOT & hard! But I really wanted to brag on The Works Cycle for a moment. These classes are high energy and FUN! Each instructor is so kind, helpful and full of positive vibes. The best part is you can make your workout as challenging as you'd like. I am so motivated and clear headed each time I leave class! Keep it up guys!

You ever have a challenging workout that you can't wait to dominate? This is what The Works has subconsciously done for me. Yoga studios are intimidating, because I'm not familiar with the poses nor in touch with my spiritual self. However, I have found new ways to murder my abdominals and I have the instructors to thank!!
