I really wish that I could give this place zero stars. Steven is difficult and lacks compassion. So does the Anytime Fitness Corporation. Steven never leaves is office...if he is even there. He also has had his dog in the gym. I do not recommend this gym to anyone. Steven and Anytime Fitness corporation make it extremely difficult to get out of a contract. Steven told me I was obligated for the entire year but then could give a 30 day written notice at the end of the contract but it had to be done in the same club in person or send a certified letter to that same club...he said I couldn't even it do at the club in the town that I ended up relocating to which is ridiculous. I have sent emails which should be just as good as a written notice. They just want to make it hard and keep collecting your money. I joined a year ago and didn't like it from the beginning. The gym floors are dirty. Can't even sit to do stretching without sitting on floors that look like they haven't been cleaned all week. The sanitizing wipes are usually empty and the bathrooms are dirty. I tried to cancel my membership after about 2 months to go to a different gym in town that was clean and had nutrition and fitness coaching and actually paid attention to people and the cleanliness of the gym and was told that I could not get out of my annual contract unless I was permanently disabled. Then in February I broke my foot and required surgery and non weight bearing for 4 months and I was going to be moving out of town a month after that. Steven again said that I couldn't cancel unless I was permanently disabled but I could freeze it but then it would extend the contract which I didn't want to do. I again requested to cancel the membership and submitted my surgeon's note and later I even gave proof of moving to a new town but since that town had an Anytime Fitness, I still could not cancel. I again reached out via email to have that as my written notice but he would not accept. I do not recommend this place at all. Worst gym I have ever been to.

Absolutely terrible staff. Steven the manager claims to have only missed a few days but when I Tried to sign up 3-4 times and the manager wasn’t there when he said he would be. He told me his car broke down, he forgot, and other excuses. One of his trainers let me in finally and said everyone has the same problems with him. Is he the owners son? Why would they keep him?Now to cancel l I have to give a 30 day notice but haven’t used for a year so they can steal a couple more payments. It’s nothing special the Y or even planet fitness are better options especially considering the manger.

To include the incompetent Steven. I have sent emails, letters, in office visits, phone calls and now a certified signature required letter to cancel this gym membership at all Anytime fitness locations anywhere in the world. Steven who was supposed to cancel this membership in January of 2025 when the contract was up. Due to his incompetence he did not due so and has lied numerous times to me about cancelling this membership. I will be forwarding this letter to multiple organizations to ensure that this does not happen again to other members of your organization. You should be ashamed of yourselves for making several members continue to make payments after they have requested cancelation on multiple occasions ( Per your google reviews). This will cancel my membership as of January 1 2025.

Do not sign up for this gym. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership since November of last year. I’ve sent letters text messages in person and they still keep contacting me telling me that it’s not canceled. I think they’re fairly incompetent or just money grabbing. I just got another message today that my membership has not been canceled. I don’t even live in South Dakota any longer and still they keep hounding me with ridiculous excuses. they say there’s a form you need to fill out for in person cancellation and then they say if you’re canceling from out of state, you just need to send a letter with a one liner that says please cancel my subscription which I’ve done. Lo and behold they don’t happen to get the mail. Absolutely ridiculous. It appears several other people have had problems canceling their membership If anyone’s interested in doing a class action lawsuit against this facility, please let me know. I now have to send another letter because they can’t seem to get their mail.. Stephen is incompetent. He thinks it’s funny to charge my account again, but I will prevail.. That’s what happens when you put young punks in charge of something.. I would not sign up for this facility. You are not able to cancel. I have tried numerous times. With no avail. Trying to find out who owns this facility. But Steven seems to think it’s only him that runs it.. If I find out who owns it, I will make sure I post it with their phone number.

This gym is disgustingly dirty. Pools of water on the bathroom floor, wipe dispensers empty, large dust bunnies and hairballs on the floor. Equipment broken for months. When the concerns are pointed out to the manager, Steven, the response is rudeness, a multitude of excuses are made, blamed the problems on members and corporate, and he says that corporate does not pay him to clean. When Steven is at the facility, he never leaves his office. This facility is a horrible representation of the quality an AF gym should be. When this gym opened and was locally owned, it was a 5 star facility. AF, you should expect better and do better.

Visiting from Oregon. Super impressed. Wow!! They even have a hydromassager. This place is outstanding. Super clean, huge, well equipped with everything. They have group fitness too. Doesn’t cost more than my Oregon anytime but it’s like 8x the size. Amazing. Thank you!!

Called in January wondering when my membership ended and they told me in March. I asked for it to end in March and if I had to do anything. They said no your good. Now it's April and they still charging me. So I got ahold of them and they said after the year it turns month to month and you have to sign a cancelation documentation which will still charge you another month. So when I went in to sign I asked why would the person on the phone in January tell me that. And the owner replies I wouldn't have and we have never had a problem with someone not understanding our contract before. And all the negative reviews on here is about their contracts. Never doing business with this gym again.

I've been trying to contact them for WEEKS to cancel my membership. No one gives me a call back, no one sends a message, I've even tried to go in during "staffed" hours a few times and there is no one to be found.

Their bathrooms are always dirty, even after my husband filed a few complaints, and it hasn't been worked on as promised by them.

They "fix" their equipment by placing a loose screwdriver in place of an actually screw. Complete safety hazard.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Please do not get a membership here or they will take advantage of it.

Good gym but it's very dirty. Bathrooms are always trashed and paper towel dispensers are empty and/or barely hanging onto the wall. Garbage cans throughout the gym are always overflowing, water fountain filter is broken, and there's a thick layer of dust/hair on all machines, especially the treadmills. It's been this way consistently the entire past year I've gone here.

There are kids running around unattended almost every time I’ve gone. I understand parents don’t always have the ability to go to the gym without their kids but they need to be watching them. This gym is busy I’ve only been 1 or 2 times when there were a handful of people there. Machine wait times are already long and it’s very inconvenient to have to figure out who’s kid is on the machine you need so you can use it. I also went through the process of canceling my membership because I was moving and the manager Steve as awful. I called multiple times a day for weeks with no answer. I stopped by in person and was not there during scheduled hours. He was very unprofessional through email and did not communicate the fees I would have to pay by canceling my membership.

Originally was going to leave a 3 star review and dock two because this is the second time I've gone this summer to find the chip reader down so no one can get in. Then thought, what are those stars for? Because bathrooms are always clean and stocked? No, can't give stars for that. Because machines are always kept up? No, sometimes things get fixed, rarely wiped down all the way. Members are expected to wipe them down after each use, but they should still be regularly cleaned. Maybe they deserve 3 stars because there's always staff during open hours. Again, no. Desk person is regularly unavailable or leaves early and if so, no one is available. Last time the chip reader went down, no one had access to the gym for two days as it happened over the weekend and no one takes responsibility for this location. Tired of it, but it's closer to my house and not some kind of niche specialty gym. If not even being able to use the facilities happens again, will have to look for alternatives in the area. I hope other members will complain about this and leave reviews so some action will be taken to improve this location.

Absolutely worse membership service of all! Believe me 1 star is even so much for you guys. Think about a gym that will do everything to win you at the beginning, but when it’s the time for leaving they wouldn’t even pick up phones.I left voice messages, calling 6 different times won’t help because they won’t pick the phone when you finally catch steve (manager) on the phone he says oh I don’t have any voice message idk what you talking about and accusing you lying. The manager Steve is the worse management system you can ever ask for. He is absolutely full of himself. Can’t even apologize from the customer for the technical issues or whatever happens even it happens by accident. But when it comes to charge you for annual fee they charge you twice a year they don’t miss that even a split sec. Whatsoever you guys the worst customer service I ever received. Absolutely not recommend!

Been a member for two an half years. Since the beginning the equipment is always dirty. Speaking of the bathrooms are NEVER clean depending on my schedule I’ll go at 5 a.m or 5p.m. 8/10 times it’s filthy with pee stains no TP, dirty sink, no palate towels, dirty showers. The hydrobeds are never working. There was a been out of commission entirely for my first two years and I pay for the plan that has that included. Never got a reimbursement or discount on something that wasn’t fixed for years. About to switch gyms. Management is never on site if I do have a concern. I don’t recommend this place to anybody

It’s not a bad place to workout, but if for any reason you stopped working out there, They will keep charging you. it’s not possible to cancel the subscription over the phone and it has to be in person even on that time they will keep charging you for one more month. Because apparently notifying them over the phone doesn’t count.

My husband has tried to get in contact with a manager at both locations in town without luck. He trued walking in during "staffed hours", no one was there. He then decided maybe they work online scheduling more. He set up an appt during staffed hours, to take a tour and sign up...he left early from work to accommodate THEIR time and NO ONE was there! A trainer apologized for the lack of follow through on the managers part, gave him a free 10 day pass. During the ten days he proceeded to attempt to call and show up without luck. Irritated, he signed up on line hoping to be done with the mess. Welp, he still has to pick up a key card....hey guess who can't get in touch with anyone?. This is the worst anytime fitness be has dealt with in all his years of being a member off and on. They are not following any aspect of their contract butcwere thrilled to take our money for set up costs etc. Please cancel his contract, this is worthless.

I have made this my home gym. I'm a OTR driver so I been going all over the country. When I decided to Cancel my subscription with them at this location they told me they could not find me in their system and that my stuff has been transferred to a gym in Illinois. So in order for me to cancel I would have to go back to the gym in Illinois to cancel. But the prices are much cheaper in Illinois but I still canceled anyways and from me canceling they charged me 63 Dollars to cancel and they charge the extra month for canceling. That's dumb and I'm not on any contact I finished it in August and after that I was paying month to month. Make sure to ask alot of questions and be sure to think about this if you are really really committed to working out cause if not you are wasting your money if you don't go

I stopped by two days in a row to sign my husband up for a membership and the membership manager Steven had gone for the day both times. I arrived during the posted staffing times both days. Steven only worked 2 hours today according to the posted staffing hours and the clock on his door stating when he would return to work and didn’t. Beyond unprofessional. Also other staff informed me that they are not allowed to give contact information for Sam the regional manager. Neither manager cares about customers, growing the business, or the other staff that have to deal with frustrated customers. They both should be fired.

Employee turnover is constant. Employees and managers start off bright eyed and bushy tailed but within a month they are feeling the pressure from the upper management. Has a very corporate feel which is annoying. They will lock you in a contract with no mercy...which is also annoying, not to mention an extremely outdated business model. Haven't heard of locked in gym contracts since the 90s.
Overall just really did not enjoy the culture/atmosphere

The gym has good equipment, but I was told explicitly at the beginning of the contract I could cancel if I paid a certain percentage of it. I tried cancelling because I had decided I wasn’t using the gym enough to justify the expense. When I walked in to cancel, I was told that the new owners had since rescinded this “courtesy” cancellation policy and that it was not actually part of the contract I signed. I requested a copy of the contract (which had not been provided to me in written form until that point) and sure enough, all the other cancellation conditions were included in the contract except this one. In hindsight, I should have requested the contract be printed so I can confirm everything discussed prior to signing, but I find it unprofessional for some cancellation conditions to be written and some be verbal only. Especially when the staff member explicitly told me that paying a percentage of the contract would allow me to cancel and I signed the contract under that impression. And now I’m stuck paying the monthly bill for the next year.

Update 3.11.22: I'm very happy to report that the gym has done a complete turn around in the last two weeks! It's been clean, stocked, and even the vibe feels different. Really appreciate the efforts. Keep up the great work.

Although the convenience and general equipment of the gym are great, the cleanliness in the last few months has gone in the toilet. Maybe that's why the bathrooms are so filthy. There are holes in the wall by the tank, the equipment doesn't look wiped down, how about running a vacuum and a mop every now and then, the cubby holes are trashed from people putting their outside shoes there instead of on the floor mat where they belong, and let's talk about management. What management? Often the manager is not present for hours at a time during posted staffed hours. This gym is definitely not living up to their side of the contract. I give it another month before I cancel based on breach of contract.

This is one of the best gyms I have ever been to. The staff is great and very motivating. The trainers are always there for and will help you reach your goal. Hannah is one of the best trainers! She definitely kicks your butt in the group trainings, and works you hard. Hannah is a great motivator and very supportive. She really wants you to reach your goals and is willing to help you get there no matter what! Steven in the front office is very knowledgeable about everything that goes on at Anytime Fitness and will help you pick out the best plan for you! They are always on top of communication and will let you know when classes are canceled or scheduled. If you are looking for a gym to help reach your goals, keep you motivated, and to have fun at this is definitely the gym for you.

I have been a ANYTIME FITNESS member for over 12 years and I have been to Anytime fitness facilities all over the US and never have I been locked out of a facility and told I can not workout there without switching my account to that location. When I tried to speak with them they ignored me. I am not the only person they have done this to multiple people I know. Very unprofessional and money hungry people.

I've always gone back and forth with whether I go to the gym or not. I never can stick with it. But once I joined this gym, I couldn't and still can't stop going! The equipment is excellent and the people who go there are all friendly and supportive. The owners have done a great job. The gym manager Stacey is excellent to work with and knows pretty much all the members by name. She always greets people with a smile and a cheery hello! Wouldn't dream of going to any other gym in town!

Very well laid out. Clean, has plenty of equipment, and two large areas for floor work. Great unisex showers too! One of the nicer Anytime Fitness locations I’ve been to.

Awesome gym. Clean and friendly. Much bigger than other Anytime fitness gyms we have gone too. I would definitely go back if we are ever in Rapid City again. Just do not randomly push the "if need help when not staffed" panic button, as my sister in law did. The cops do show up.

Awesome gym. Awesome staff. When I walked in the owners came up to my wife and me and welcomed us. Dave was really awesome and we conversed for a little while. We we're traveling through and have a membership in Grand Forks. Definitely a gym that I would go to and recommend to everyone. Dave said they were planning to get bumper plates and lifting platforms in the future. When they do that place will be perfect!
