Overall GL is a good place to be. It can be a bit chaotic during the busy times as it is a relatively small space and even smaller locker rooms. Off peak hours are where it is at. I only rated this space/place 4 out of 5 because it could be kept a little cleaner than it is. Too many times I find Band-Aids on the shower mats that have been there for days. The lockers never get cleaned wiped down and please never really look at the shower mats, that are usually always full of dirt and grime, underneath them is even worse.
That being said, if you are looking for a welcoming place to be, this is it. The staff is great.

Been going here for a few weeks now and I'm happy I signed up. I was a little worried about the past reviews mentioning high school kids sitting around and taking up machines, but one of the managers told me they expanded it last year and no longer have that problem. I've been going at around 5pm sometimes when it's at its busiest and never had much problem getting a good workout in. I also don't really see many kids sitting around like previous reviews stated. The gym is clean, well maintained, and staff is friendly.

It’s nothing special. Minimalist gym. A place to work out that is close which is really its only selling point.

This is our favorite GL gym because of the amount of equipment. There is plenty of room and even when it's busy, it doesn't feel packed. There is a 6 person sauna in the men's locker room. (I assume the women's is the same) It's not a great place if you are looking to play basketball, but 3 hoops are sufficient for a quick warm up before lifting.

I’ve been a Great Life member since 2016, and overall, my experience has been positive until recently. Over the past year, however, my encounters with the Great Life staff have been increasingly unpleasant. It feels like they are keeping tabs on me—monitoring what exercises I do, how often, and how long I use the sauna and cold plunge. In a recent incident, they even stopped me and told me I couldn’t follow my usual routine because the employees were ‘sick and tired of picking up’ and seeing me in the sauna. This place is going downhill, and it’s no wonder people are leaving. Great Life should take notes from Crunch.

Great establishment. Quality gym and fits a lot into a relatively small space. I can't wait for the new expansion on the property.

Music on speakers blares to the point you can’t hear your own music in headphones. Infrared saunas “don’t work” once a week, seemingly always on Sundays and then you’re offered the regular sauna (which I already pay to use). One of the 2 massage beds works; one of the two bikes has foot straps intact……

Doesn't seem like anyone cares about how this place is run. I work out at 9pm or later, and all I see is skinny high school kids flexing in the mirror without their shirt on. Running around, jumping around, getting in the way, swarming everywhere. It's dangerous bc I lift pretty heavy. And there hasn't been any keys for the lockers in the men's room for months.

Spacious gym. Always room for workout even when busy. New equipment. Locker room keys are an issue (people walking off with them) so can be a trick to get a key at times but an awesome place to work out in Harrisburg.

Its great place to work out! The staff is great, clean place. Pretty much everything you need to get a great workout in. Only problem is depending on the day, its over run by high school kids that stand around and talk or set on machines and play on their phones.

I used to really like this gym, but lately it is being inundated with high school students that hoard the equipment and are there more for socializing than working out. I don’t know if the school’s gym is closed because of COVID but it’s becoming quite difficult to get onto equipment. We are considering canceling our membership as it is increasingly becoming less usable… which is unfortunate because it’s so close to our home that we often walk there.

Well maintained, clean and comfortable. It’s busy when the high school athletes are there, but there is always room for everyone. I live nearby and enjoy my time at the gym.

I already pay 90.00 a month to be in greatlife and then they tell me I have to pay an extra 15.00 per month just to sit in the recovery room. Kind of a rip off, typical of Harrisbur .
