Great Life is nothing but a money hungry organization. I have paid my membership for the past two years and never used it one time due to having a motorcycle accident that left wheelchair bound for 11months and 4 different surgeries. Now I asked, practically begged them to cancel my membership 5 months early and they won’t do it! They took all my money for the, almost 2an a half years with zero usage and refuse to allow me to cancel 5 months early. This is a sad and unforgiving organization and I’ll never recommend their services to anyone!

The gym itself is fine. Can usually find a time to come when it’s not overpacked like it used to be. The biggest thing is they make it so hard to sign up and cancel. Not every location has the capability to do so and then you get sent on a wild goose chase around town or told to call a number and then you get sent to voicemail. Other gyms have apps or the ability to join or cancel online. For how massive the corporation is they should upgrade their operations. Sounds like the staff doesn’t necessarily get treated the best either which is a shame but not surprising for a corporate gym

I go to Woodbury. Parking lot could use some work. Lots of people, often hard to find a parking spot. Once inside though, lots to do. Clear definition between cardio, lifting, and basketball court. Showers and locker room are spacious.

I’d say this gym is the whole package - every gym amenity imaginable, , beautiful lobby and even child care. However, the weight room is probably one my least favorite in all of my travels. It’s dingy, set up in an old court of some kind and hotter than hell. Not a lot of free weight equipment and it’s outdated.

Hot tub is out often, when it works the chlorine makes my eyes burn within 10 seconds. One of the daycare workers said we had to leave for something that wasnt on their list of things, brought water and diapers because its required but during two hour periods no water had been drunk and babies werent changed every time we utilized child care.

Would like to thank you for your amazing water aerobics classes. Both my husband and I started in October of 2021 to attend classes. I try to attend every class Leslie offers --thanks to her extraordinary efforts and encouragement and dedication-- we are healthy, each of us has lost weight --she is an inspiration to all of us!!! This place has exceptional customer service, Matt, at the Sioux Falls, location not only took the time to hear, but also appreciate my situation.
My son is an adult with Autism and developmental delays.
Matt was so accommodating, assuring me that my son has a place and is welcome to be part of Great Life.
In the small town of Yankton, I had a membership at Anytime fitness which cost more and offered less, with a six month "equipment fee" for equipment that never was updated. There are three Great Life locations to experience, in Yankton alone!
Most bang for your buck, and you couldn't ask for a better staff! Thank you so very much Great Life

Horrible experience with this place. Staff was rude. We didn’t get any email saying that the membership was going to end. You have to cancel 30 days before it’s going to be up or they sign up for another year without your permission and it doesn’t even go month to month. $500 down the drain because my boyfriend and I have a gym membership at our apartment. He won’t even use their gym. Thank you Greatlife for your poor service. Wish I could give 0 stars. Definetly would not recommend

This gym has the perks that make you motivated to workout. A sauna? I mean c'mon, who doesn't want to hang out in one of those for a while during the long winter months? My personal favorite is the astroturf in the lifting area. That piece of green space just makes me feel happy and excited to lift! There is an enormous amount of space at this gym, and you get all the perks of its offerings with your Great Life membership including the pool. The only down side is the size and occasional grumpy employee. You'll be less likely to get a friendly greeting when you walk in the door, but the overall experience is fairly balanced. Pay attention to peak times to maximize your efficiency and enjoyment here!

I have enjoyed going to this gym for a few years until today I asked to change my membership as my husband started a different program. I was told that my membership auto renews on an ANNUAL basis so no changes could be made for 4 more months. When I signed up for this gym I was doing so after having felt swindled by another gym in town. I was assured that the membership was only a year. It was not explained, nor would have I agreed to, something automatically renewing for an entire year of obligation.
Shady business to say the least.

I normally use the facilities for tennis and some cardio machines. The tennis courts are decent and the teaching pros excellent. I have found the general staff pleasant but a little lacking in management. Management doesn't seem to be on site, and I have never been asked after years of use by anyone there if they can get me anything or ask me a question regarding service. One evening I had my ear buds in using a treadmill and they turned the lights off on me in mid stride. It was a close call, but I didn't get hurt. In my opinion only I would say growth has exceeded service and detracted from the facility since I have been going there. There are many financial incentives to being there, so it is worth the money. I do wish management wasn't reactive and more proactive.

Laurie it's a Christian based company so their not going to allow "partners". People knew when Sioux empire fitness got bought out the rates would go up in December if you would read. I like greatlife staff is friendly. They get machines fixed fast when they break down. You pay for what you get and they are worth the 40 a month.

I was told that I could cancel my membership as long as I gave enough notice. So I did that months ago. I got an email last week saying that I owed for three months and that they would absolutely not cancel my membership-- but they had deactivated my keycard so I hadn't been able to use the gym for that three months-- so I assumed they cancelled as I requested.
I HAD BEEN TOLD WHEN I SIGNED UP THAT I COULD CANCEL IT. I would not have signed up otherwise, because I knew I would be moving. WHAT IS THIS ABSURD POLICY that is more binding than my lease policy? I am irate (on the bright side the woman telling me all this was very nice). But that doesn't change the fact that I got conned into buying this membership.

I am a senior and like to go swim sometimes at the pool at Tennis Lane, I don't have a membership, but pay as I go. The rates have more than doubled and the last time I went , there was no hot water to take a shower after swimming, and the hot tub was not working.---Ellie Mathison
