Very nice facility. Everything you need including clean modern locker room with sauna and steam room. Nice weight room and not at all too busy. Full basketball court, pool and multiple racquetball courts.

Little small, bit old, locker rooms are great. The hours with actual staff here are atrocious. I got lucky one day, the doors were open for an event, I didn't know that, tried to come back twice when there was a locked door for fob holders only. Don't always trust the google hours posted.

Why even say you allow nationwide members when staff is only available monday- friday 11AM-1PM?? Those are such limited hours its pretty much pointless for anyone passing through.

My husband and I are visiting Sioux Falls for work for 2 months. We have a nationwide YMCA membership which is thankfully accepted at this location. However, they just changed their unlocked door hours to 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, only allowing two hours for people to come without a front door fob to get in. During 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM we are working. So to come in the evening we have to wait outside the front door in the rain for a front desk worker to open the door and let us in. The desk only has a worker until 6:30 PM, so make sure to come before then if youβre not a local member. I asked how we can get a door fob to not have to wait outside every visit, but they only offer fobs to local members.
The gym is also small, but usually not busy.
EDIT: The YMCA was able to provide a key fob to us even though we are a nationwide member. We really appreciate this!

The Sioux Falls YMCA is a cornerstone of our community! Their programs for youth and families are exceptional, providing opportunities for learning, fitness, and connection. The staff is friendly, dedicated, and always willing to go the extra mile. Whether itβs sports leagues, after-school care, or summer camps, they truly deliver quality experiences. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get involved or find a welcoming place for the whole family!

I wish they had better and safer parking. Families and children have to cross a very busy street to the parking lot. Definitely smaller then what it used to be. I enjoy their y-ball program and other services for my kids. Just wished they took out the argus building to make parking spaces or find a new location and make the building just be apartment's.

Stopped in to shower last night. Talked to the friendliest staff, shared our stories of travel, and our reconverted minivan to a camper van. Clean facility, and only $4 for a great shower.

Employee at the front desk was clueless for which classes that are offered. Equipment needs updating. Dirty gym. I was not impressed.

New equipment from partnership with GreatLife. Hours improved somewhat. Locker rooms still very nice.
Update: what are the actual hours of this place? Is it really not open on weekends at all? I wish this gym wasnβt in a convenient location because itβs always a big let down.

Worked out at this gym while I was in town. Itβs a decent facility with variety equipment. But itβs to many kids playing around on the equipment and machines not working out. It took me forever to get things done from all the horse playing.

I donβt know how connected the ymca is to their basketball league but it is honestly unacceptable. The coach got kicked out for no reason and multiple witnesses could back me on that. This terrible ref I believe goes by gargamel has it out for a coach of a team I donβt even have connections to. He interrupted the game to yell at the coach after the parents were calling travel. Even worse the Y staff working backed the ref when the coach did nothing wrong. This isnβt the first time this has happened either I have heard from multiple parents about this ref. Hire someone new or find volunteers. this is RIDICULOUS! The ref is the one pictured with the ball.

Me and my friend are on a road trip and needed a shower after 3 days on the road, luckily we ran into this YMCA. It was a great place and it was cheap to use it's facilities. If we're ever back in Sioux falls for sure we'll be back

Old building. They updated it really good. Both locker rooms are nice. Expensive ones are worth the money. Bring my nephews here when they visit.

Do not go here if you are an adult traveling. Got into town and immediately headed here to get my workout in only to be told the ENTIRE YMCA is reserved for kids after 4 PM. What? Like, not just the ball courts but the weight room as well? What kind of kid works out during the period of 4-8 PM? The only people who work out during this period is adults who get off work at 4-5 PM. When I asked for an explanation (I wasn't mad, a bit annoyed, but was genuinely intrigued at the reasoning behind this policy) the reason was to keep the kids "safe". Which, idk what kind of people you have in Sioux falls, but would they not be safer during a period of, oh idk, 11-3pm? When adults are all working? Legitimately one of the most poorly planned/ executed policies I have encountered. If you want a children's program reserve the basketball courts or playground, not the entire facility. Working out is great for everybody, kids and adults, and to be the only place in town with a gym and essentially gate it off to working adults is terrible. Tsk tsk.

Worst Ymca in 45 states of travel, hands down. Don't bother going here at all unless you're an underprivileged teen. This should be classified as a Boys n Girls club or a teen daycare center or a teen hangout, not a "family" Ymca where adults and families are prohibited after 4pm. What? They do this all under the guise of being a "Christian" facility. I'm sorry, the Christians I know don't ban adults from attending the facility their child is attending.

If you're older than 17, you better have no life or a job if you want to use the facilities. After 4pm is off limits to adults. WTH?! Never been to a family Y where the whole family has to come in shifts, huh? Really? Poor planning. I understand having pool hours for different age groups but who do you think can come use the facilities, guess retired folk, homeless, and single families on government checks...
Frustrating as...

Coming from a recent worker of the Y I did enjoy my time here and the place itself could use a lot of improvements pertaining to the kids (which they are doing) as for the weight room I often think itβs silly to have kids workout at a specific time but also adults have to understand the YMCA doesnβt just accommodate them anymore and now has become a facility for the YOUTH but other than that both the after school area and daycare center are 2 great areas of the Y and best place for the kids of Sioux Falls

It is really a shame what has happened to this once great facility. The hours of operation for adults to exercise is a complete joke. 7:00-4:00 on weekdays are you kidding me? Not an option for a working adult. Not to mention the weight room and cardio equipment (what is left of it) is crammed into one small room. Locker room is ok but no towels and the 'attendant' was sitting there watching TV the entire time. The Sioux Falls YMCA was a great facility for many years but unfortunately now is nearly completely useless for adults looking for a place to work out.

I canβt give this place zero stars. If that was an option, I would. I arrived at 5:30, traveling from out of town. I frequently visit YMCAs throughout the region when I travel for work. This one was completely in accommodating.
Approaching the front desk, I was informed that only children are allowed to exercise after 4:30 p.m. in Sioux Falls. I have no idea if this is some kind of weird law that effects all of Sioux Falls or if it is just some weird policy of this YMCA. Why would a gym exclude adults during the peak hours when adults are most likely to exercise (right after work)?

The fitness center is only open from 7AM-4PM for adults. Most adults work until around 4PM. Very limited time offered for adults with families or activities to work out. Iβve never seen a more poorly set up time frame for trying to be healthy and active. Strongly consider revising these hours!

Stuff is awesome, a lot of weights, but atmosphere is like a recreation center, visitors are mostly mature people. I prefer real hard gym. But a good place to visit, Sauna, pool, parking lot.

Very comfortable setting to work out and the friendly staff make it even more enjoyable! I've been attending YMCA gyms for years and no where else seems to compare. No contract so if something comes up you can always end monthly membership and simply start it again if you choose to come back. the Y offers the essential amenities and the Equipment is very much up to date. Never do I have to wait on something to open up. My only knock on the YMCA is the location and lack of parking.
