I have been training with Jon for over a year now. When I started, my intent was to train for the 3 months before my son's wedding in June of '24, but I've found that I'm hooked now! Jon is super flexible and a great cheerleader. He's tough when he needs to be and challenges me. I feel much stronger, more fit, and generally healthier as a result of my training with Jon at Apex.

I started training with a trainer(Luke) to help with rebuilding strength in my lower body to keep up with my kids as well as keeping me from hurting myself in doing it on my own. And to help with my shoulder so I can keep doing my job pain free/injury free. I am so pleased with my progress and now working on building strength and mobility for the future. I love the convenience and flexibility that this gym offers and there’s no intimidating environment. So glad that I joined.

Having been to multiple trainers/gyms, both in Memphis and other large cities, APEX and Garrett have completely exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere and people are welcoming, comfortable and relaxed/fun which is important for me as a female. Garrett has helped me exceed my lifting/health goals in just a few months. Apex is my first experience utilizing a personal trainer and it sets a high bar! The space is comfortable, trainers all strike me as knowledgeable and supportive, and other clients friendly. Garrett is my trainer and he is super flexible and goes out of his way to both keep me accountable and navigate busy life circumstances.
My own physical fitness health and practice has never been super consistent and joining Apex has been a significant investment in my health. Garrett and the whole crew at Apex East make it feel worthwhile every time I'm there. I've never felt stronger or happier about my own body and training.

The professional trainers at Apex offer excellent strength training and nutrition guidance. After an initial assessment, my trainer, Jon, developed a training plan and provides one-on-one instruction while monitoring my technique and effort. He increases the challenge and exercise type when appropriate.
The environment is uplifting, and I look forward to attending my sessions plus I feel great afterwards.
The trainers are formally educated and very knowledgeable. It was a great decision to add strength training at Apex to my weekly exercise.

I was interested in strength training but really concerned about injury prevention. A fellow cycling friend recommended Luke at Apex. Starting training with Luke at Apex was a great decision. Luke’s training plan incorporates not only strength training but also focuses on improving my mobility and balance. He is very meticulous about mastering proper form prior to adding weight to prevent injury. He’s very flexible and takes my cycling schedule into consideration when developing my training plan. In the short time I have been training at Apex, I can already see improvement in cycling due to an increase in strength and mobility as well as weight loss. I always look forward to going to my sessions. The workouts are challenging but fun and both Luke and Garrett are very encouraging, knowledgeable, and helpful.

My husband and I have been training at Apex for six months and we're loving it! The trainers at Apex tailor the workouts to our specific needs, making each session enjoyable. We used to dread lifting weights, but now we look forward to our workouts. Our physical therapist recommended Apex, and we've already noticed a significant improvement in our strength and endurance. Many of our aches and pains have disappeared, and we feel much stronger when cycling. Highly recommend Apex!! I have a membership to a regular gym with cardio equipment, weights, etc., but was looking for a more personalized program to meet my goals. I train with Garrett - who is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive - and love the community that you build here. It's what keeps me coming back. People are at all different levels, so you feel welcome even if you've never worked out in your life. You learn and do workouts that you would never have done on your own in the gym. I tended to do the same 3-4 things I knew how to do in a regular gym, but at Apex you literally work it all like a pro without feeling like a novice.

Nine months ago, I started at Apex nervous about restarting my fitness journey and unsure of how things would go. Fast forward to today, I can say with 100% certainty that I made the right decision. For the first time in a long time, I don’t feel self-conscious about my body, and I have my trainer, Garrett, to thank for that! The motivation and encouragement I get from Garrett and the other trainers, Jon and Alyssa, to do things I never thought I’d be able to has really made all the difference. I feel so much stronger physically and mentally. The camaraderie within the gym between the trainers and clients is another huge plus, and it’s nice that we can all have fun together while trying to reach our goals. While I work from home mostly, I found myself in a rut. After speaking with Jon, I started a 2 day a week plan. While I’m not a super fitness guru, I wasn’t totally sure this would work. Well it’s working! I have lost weight, gained muscle. I feel healthier and more confident. They’re flexible to make adjustments with my busy work schedule.
At Apex they pair you up with a personal trainer that fits your personality. Garrett is my trainer. He encourages me, makes a custom plan that really focuses on overall body wellness and strength, plus each morning we have a few laughs along the way.
Other Perks: Plenty of parking, and never more than 1-3 people training at the same time as me. I like that low-key vibe.

I have been to many Gym around Memphis and never experience the amount of training and one on one training at any of the other gyms that I have received from Garrett. Garrett listen to all the sports and work injuries that I had and helped strengthen these areas without over working these areas. He wants us to do our best. This facility is always clean. I absolutely love Meridian Training and so will you. I was looking for a gym for long time but found too many excuses. I have never been one to enjoy exercising but I just needed Meridian and Garrett and Jon!
Working out with Garrett and Jon is awesome...we chat, but the trainers are really watching your form and paying attention to your exercise program. It's also great to have my own program--it's different from everyone else's; it tailored to my goals and my mobility limitations. If you can't do a specific exercise, there are 3 other variations of the exercise that Garrett and Jon can suggest for you.
Working out at Meridian with knowledgeable professional trainers and an individualized exercise program has really paid dividends in my health, fitness, and mobility. I'm approaching my 1-year mark at Meridian, and I am more fit now than I was in the last 30 years!

I have been very excited to find Meridian Training. While I had some weight training experience, I was looking for accountability and a coach to push me further and get me back on track. I have really enjoyed working with the trainers who have created personalized workouts that push me further than I would have myself. While we all have our own individual programs, when working out it is nice to have others there with you who can add that extra cheer during the end of workout sprint. I have also appreciated that my short and long goals are being taken into account as my program is developed.

As soon as I walked into Meridian and talked with the trainers I knew I found my place. Having sport injuries most gyms will not really modify for you or have you sit on the side lines but Meridian trainers listened and ensure to have custom movements to ensure you get the proper workout but also become stronger even with the old injuries. The trainers Jon and Mari ensure you get the best workout possible, push you when you need to be pushed and most of all support you on your goals and push you to accomplish your goals. What can I say. To put it in simple terms. Coming here is more than just exercise. It is a life style. Trainer here will help you get in shape and have you on a better diet. It’s not a boot camp for a set amount of time. They help you take on and make habits that will last a lifetime. This is the first workout/personal training that I have truly enjoyed and stuck with. Largely because of the small size and personal attention from the AWESOME trainers, especially Mari and Jon. They will tailor a program specific for you and are always there to motivate and encourage you! I passed by Meridian about 150 times before I went in. I'm glad I finally did. I love the personalized strength training and nutritional coaching. In addition to keeping me accountable, the trainers spend lots of time coaching me to make sure that my movements are done correctly and safely. From the atmosphere to the staff, I feel like I am home. I’m that person who feels awkward about going to the gym because I never know what to do. At meridian training I feel like I belong. Words cannot describe how happy I am to have found Meridian Training. I have been wanting to find personal trainers for a while now. I’ve been anxious to start weight training but I wanted to learn proper form before making a fool out of myself elsewhere. I think like many people on a health/fitness journey, you find yourself self conscious to step into an environment that would usually lower your self esteem, and add to the doubt in your mind. I can assure you, from the moment of your first meeting with Jon, the manager, the worries will wash away. The energy once you walk in is positive and welcoming every time. The trainers make it a point to introduce you so that you definitely feel like a part of the community. And you’ll even find yourself cheering on the person next to you through difficult sets. What’s even better is the attention to detail, and care the trainers have. Garrett is who works with me regularly, and he definitely has your best interest at heart. Not only is he great for a hard work out that will have you dripping sweat. But he’s also great for the motivation you need and a great conversation as well. I’m so excited for my sessions at Meridian training now, not only for the work outs, but for the friendships you’ll make with your fellow clients and the staff as well. It’s the best time and money you’ll spend in Memphis.

My experience at Meredian Training had been really great. I highly recommend the gym for people of all fitness levels. The team listened to my goals, challenges with other gyms/programs and some of my weaknesses that I needed help with. They put together a customized a plan just for me that I can come in, put the work in, then go about my day. One of the unexpected benefits has been the community feel. Since we are small enough I have developed some new friendships with other members as we workout together. Finally, I can’t say enough about how much I love the staff. In 2017 I had surgery to repair a torn ACL and that injury had a big impact on my strength and physical ability, even after recovery and physical therapy. Then in 2020 we discovered my 16 year old had a congenital heart defect that needed to be corrected ASAP via open heart surgery. After these health challenges, plus the pandemic and sedentary jobs/lifestyles, my kids and I decided it was time for a healthy overhaul. In February 2021 we signed up for personalized training with Jon and it was the most impactful health-related decision we’ve ever made. Meridian offers a unique training experience, with different levels of incredibly personalized instruction. The trainers consistently provide as much or as little hands on guidance as you need. Jon took the time to listen to us, discuss our injuries/health concerns and then build a program for us that has gradually evolved with our ability. We always leave feeling challenged but never so sore after a session that we can’t come back the next day. We’ve yet to work with a trainer at Meridian that didn’t give us the same amount of time and attention as Jon (especially Marie!). They offer sound, research-backed nutritional guidance if you need it, without encouraging forms of disordered eating (no fad diets, no expensive, unnecessary nutritional supplements). The gym is well equipped with new machines and weights. It’s always clean and never so crowded that you have to wait for someone to finish their set. The vibe is incredibly positive, kind and inclusive. I’ve never felt intimidated or out of place, even as an awkward beginner learning new skills. Last but not least, they’ve done a fantastic job of following CDC guidelines to help keep everyone safe during Covid. Because of all these things and I’m sure some that I’m forgetting, we’re still making long term, impactful health improvements working with Jon, Marie, Leah and Garret more than a year later.
If you’ve wanted to make long term improvements to your health but you’re not sure where to start or if you’re a seasoned fitness pro who’s looking for a new gym home, you should make Meridian the next best health-related decision you’ve ever made too!

I have been a client at Meridian since it opened; previously I was a client at its sister gym, Apex Wellness, in Midtown for two years. Meridian offers a similar personal-training style that I was accustomed to at Apex with more flexibility in scheduling. Although I am a hybrid client and don’t have a “personal” trainer, the on-site trainers are very observant of every set that I do to ensure I am performing the exercises correctly and safely. Ryan and the other trainers collaborate in creating workout programs to help me meet my fitness goals while allowing me to work out at my own pace and on my own schedule. Meridian is a five star gym with five star trainers.
