Training with Alex at Apex Midtown has given me quicker results and made me feel better about my body than anything I’ve done in 20+ years of exercising. I’ve done step aerobics, body pump, running, spin, HIIT, barre, Pilates, yoga—in 5 months with Apex I am stronger and look leaner than before I had kids, all while training 2 days a week and not significantly changing my diet. Alex helps me to work smarter and carefully chooses exercises and weights based on what MY body needs. In addition to feeling and looking physically better, the friendly and inclusive environment at the gym puts a pep in my step and has made me truly look forward to working out. I highly recommend to all my friends and family—worth every penny.

Apex Midtown was my first experience with personal training in February of 2022 and I'm still a client because they're truly exceptional. I'm in my late 40s and now in the same shape as when I was in my 20s. So far I've lost 70 pounds and I'm stronger than ever which is very helpful while taking care of a 10 month old :) Pay them a visit if you're looking for great trainers that will work with you every step of the way to help you meet your fitness goals. I've been training with Alex for about 2-3 years now. I have learned so much since I started training with him. I have won state competitions in powerlifting with his coaching. I highly recommend using the services at Apex, regardless of your level of fitness.

I've been going to Apex for a little over a year & a half and cannot recommend it enough. Lennox has helped me to be in better shape in my late 30s than I was in my 20s. I've done different programs over the years in class format, individually at the gym, and individually at home. Nothing else has helped to provide the right balanced program such that I'm progressing in the direction I want to go, avoiding injury, and not causing myself additional back pain from poorly balanced programming. I highly recommend Apex!

I’ve been at Apex Midtown since 2018. I couldn’t ask for a better fitness journey. It’s always been important to me to workout correctly to avoid injury AND to be able to workout safely when I was injured outside of the gym. My trainer, Alex, knows SO much about the body and is patient with all the questions I have. My workouts are well thought out and varied to keep things interesting. 10/10 would recommend having a personal trainer at our little neighborhood gym.

I have been working with Alex for about two years and have made measurable progress on my strength, flexibility, and joint mobility. I thought I knew basic weight lifting exercises but Alex taught me many details about correct form and technique which has allowed me to get much more out of my workouts. He has also encouraged me to push myself harder through slowly building up strength to tackle bigger goals. The trainers are super knowledgeable about exercise, diet, and mobility. My shoulder was bothering me and Alex worked to increase mobility and gradually strengthen the muscles to where it is in great shape today. I like that the trainers are usually working with two people at once as I don’t need someone just watching me do every rep and if I am doing something wrong then Alex will let me know. It’s a great business model as it keeps the prices reasonable for personalized training. Very friendly community and I highly recommend APEX Midtown.

I've trained at Apex for around 2 years. I've gotten stronger and more confident in that time. The most practical changes I've noticed is being able to carry WAY more up the stairs at my house and getting consistent movement in the week even though I work from home. I've worked with Lennox at Apex and his flexibility, friendliness and personalized workout plans are AMAZING. If you're looking for a personal trainer in Midtown look no further than Apex!

I chose APEX based on the wonderful reviews and my experience has also been awesome. Getting setup was quick , it’s affordable and the atmosphere is supportive/ encouraging. I’ve trained with Lennox a little over 6 months and have successfully made progress in my weight-loss journey. He will challenge you but also make sure you’re safe. You won’t regret your decision to start here.

I trained with Axiom for 4 months before moving and leaving this gym might have been one of the biggest bummers about relocating.
While small, this gym didn't lack any of the equipment or services I'd expect to get through a personal training program. I came in with a history of injuries related to competitive sports as well as some existing health conditions and all of this was taken into consideration in the development of my regimen.
Jon, my trainer, was so fun to meet up with! He consistently reevaluated the exercises we incorporated based of preference, effectiveness and my familiarity with movements. I never got bored with workouts and always knew I could ask for something more challenging or for an adjustment based off the status of my old injuries or my overall health. During sessions we would discuss food, sleep and stress patterns to create strategies for self-care outside the gym. Beyond the workouts themselves we set up a system that worked well to check-in on days I didn't come into the gym and were able to develop plans for weeks when I traveled for work.
Beyond that, Apex went above and beyond to ensure folks had access to trainers and training plans during the stay-at-home order and upon re-opening are taking every possible step to keep a clean and safe environment for trainers and clients. Everyone who works here is super friendly and welcoming and were very supportive regardless of who was your primary trainer. 10/10 recommend <3

I came to Ryan and Billy after more than a year of bad habits and inactivity and was in the worst shape of my life. Not only did they get me back on track and down to what I weighed in my 20's, they put together strength workouts catered specifically to get me excited to ride my bike again. Apex is a friendly non-judgmental environment and I cannot recommend them enough!

Fantastic gym!
I was looking for a gym that had more than just the weight racks and treadmills; Apex has all the fun toys like weighted sleds, hex-bars, TRX, body bands and landmine barbells you probably won't find at the average gym. Probably more important than the toys, the trainers are all very knowledgable, accommodating , and overall wonderful people to work with.
It's a great place to laugh and joke, and enjoy pretty creative workouts to keep the experience exciting. If you want to sweat, they will make you sweat.
They also have monthly challenges/games to break up the monotony of reaching that goal of Arnold biceps or just feeling better about yourself. Example, last month was a corn-hole challenge, where your daily lift helped you earn more tosses and each point corresponded to a donation given by the gym to a local charity.
Ryan has done a wonderful job creating a positive culture in and around Apex. Members are all ages, with different needs or goals, and while you might work with one trainer, you still get the sense of community. Apex even hosts off-site events, introducing new Memphians like myself to other local gems like restaurants and cafes around town.
Overall great place to sweat with friends.

As a real estate investor who's hours are not set in stone Apex is a perfect fit for me. The app allows me to have more flexibility with my booking. I don't need to call my trainer to schedule I can pick any slot that's available on the app. This flexibility allows me to get my workouts in around my slow time. This is a boutique operation so the attention to detail is more intense and I get more out of my workouts with hands on constant coaching and correcting.

When I first moved to Memphis, I found it really difficult to find a non-commercial gym that wasn’t specifically for a certain type of workout only. I finally found Apex and loved everything they had to offer. Whatever your fitness goal may be, they design a workout regimen tailored specifically for you. I originally joined with strength training in mind. My goal has since changed to competing in a fitness competition. After the show, the goal is potentially a power lifting competition. I work with Alex and with each goal change, he has been super supportive and jumps right on board with these goals, designing detailed regiments for me to ensure I would achieve the results needed to reach each goal. The gym has a very comfortable atmosphere and everyone in that gym is very supportive of one another.

I joined in January of this year, and it's been a game-changer for me. The one-on-one training sessions tailored to my particular needs and fitness level, plus follow-ups throughout the week truly help me stay after it. It wasn't easy for me to enter a gym that was for personal training only. I was worried that everyone would be super fit and I would be odd man out. This place completely changed my perspective and is helping me improve my overall health. After being told by my general physician and then an orthopedist that I needed to work on building my core and working on some of my physical limitations I reached out to Rachel. I'm 7 months in and feel great, enjoy my workouts and the sense of community is something I never expected to have happen. The trainers are top notch, I'm partial to Rachel but they are all good and check on you even if you aren't 'their' client. They meet you where you are and custom tailor workouts for you- they aren't assigning the same general workout to everyone. I'm grateful for them showing me that I am stronger than I ever thought I could be. Don't wait just go ahead and give them a call.

After surviving a slew of infections and a mild heart last year (at only 32 years old), my doctors instructed me to hire a personal trainer to condition my heart back to a healthy place. Given my limits with my heart and other joint issues, Apex Wellness was the perfect match for me. Always encouraging, even when I thought I couldn’t do it, the trainers at Apex are highly knowledgeable and have never steered me to injury. Without the consistency of the training there I know my heart would not be where it is now! I travel for work and my trainer, Rachel, has worked with sometime silly schedule. I am forever thankful for the team there!

I've been going to Apex for over a year now! I originally started to get in better shape for my wedding. I've stuck with them because they make training so challenging and also so much fun! Not to mention I'm in the absolute best shape!! I've tried personal training a few times prior to Apex and it never quite fit for me. The trainers here are so awesome, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in their approach to each of their clients. I can't say enough good things about them. The real deal. I had a cycling accident and broke both my arms, one severely, requiring plates. I wanted to stay in a good frame of mind and in shape while I recovered. I met with Ryan, who matched me with Travon Robinson. Six months later, I am elated to be in the best shape of my life, and both arms are stronger than before. Travon was able to help me get stronger even with a cast on and I look forward to continuing with Apex. I appreciate his creativity, ability to tailor workouts, expertise and positive attitude. Besides that, I couldn’t ask for a more comfortable atmosphere to work out in, as well a high level of scheduling flexibility. I have been working out there for quite a few months now. The hours available are super flexible (many other trainers are very difficult to make appointments unless odd hours) and the people are incredibly nice. The trainers are all highly educated and most (if not all) of them athletes themselves. They practice what they preach and are able to work with all different body styles and needs (including injuries and prenatal).

I've worked out in some capacity for the past 27 years. I'm a former Marine and considered myself an overall healthy guy. Apex was my first step into personal training and I've never looked back. Apex Wellness is a terrific gym, clean, conveniently located in Midtown. Ryan is terrific and flexible with scheduling. Joe Huskey is my trainer and he knew my physical limitations when we started. In just 5 weeks, I have forgotten about "limitations" as he knows just how far to push me and take me to the next level! I'm excited to see that I am toning and slimming with every week. Apex Wellness is one of the best training facilites in Memphis. 5 Star & first class trainer (Ryan) The facility is very clean. Workouts are specialized to you specifically. Training time slots are always flexible to work with your schedule. I came to Ryan a few months ago, with about 45% mobility from shoulder surgery, out of shape, and frankly my strength had declined. I can honestly say I gained up to 95% mobility, while personally achieving some physique changes, stamina is up, I have gotten physically stronger, and will look to continue my road to strength & recovery.

The most life changing decision I have ever made was to train at Apex with Ryan. It's not just about "losing weight", at Apex it's about wellness as a whole. I had the opportunity to train with Ryan for 3 years while I lived in Memphis. He was as passionate about my fitness goals as I was and broke progress down into realistic steps for me to take to reach my goals. In addition to fitness, he taught me how to use food to better fuel my body. He is really flexible which made it easy for me to work training sessions into my schedule. I had great results, I would not be as fit and healthy as I am today without my time training with Ryan. I would highly highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve their health and fitness!
