I love this gym. I will continue to go. But recently I have not been able to work out due to HEAT. Please please fix this. It’s overly warm in the gym, then you sweat and get heated even MORE cause it’s a place of fitness. I understand all ages go and workout. But oh my goodness, I’m in my 20s and want to vomit it’s too hot to even workout. I do not have any medical conditions, I am not prone to hot flashes, nor do I overextend myself. This is ridiculously hot. I shouldn’t walk into a room and want to vomit. It feels as though you have the flu, and not after working out a little, this is after walking through the door. It’s fine to have the heater on, but not this hot. Someone could pass out. If it’s this hot, then go in for a workout. I absolutely love this gym, please fix it I absolutely love this community and business you have built. It’s brilliant! ❤️🔥

I was in from out of town visiting my parents for the holiday weekend. ATC was nearby so I thought I would give it a try. Don at the front desk was great. So welcoming and accommodating. Something to be said for southern hospitality. The gym is clean and bright with ample machines, free weights, and cardio. Really happy to find ATC and have a great workout. Thank you Don!

The gym is small and the staff is inattentive. They are pretty incessant about not being able to deadlift or have a bag of any kind on the floor, so if you plan on using straps or a belt, or wraps or sleeves or having a hoodie etc, you better just have really big pockets I guess 🤷‍♂️. The true insidious nature of this gyms core values is in their cancelation policy. I've used this gym as a backup for 2 years and in that time I've been maybe 12 times. When I tried to cancel right after a billing cycle, they said that I would have to pay again. That means after paying the club fees or yearly fees they still basically charge you a 40 dollar penalty to cancel.

I will remove this if they reverse their decision but I know they won't. So beware. This gym doesn't want you to actually make progress in the gym and they will absolutely destroy you financially if they can manage to make another few bucks.

All that for a sub par gym experience, no guest passes, just an overall awful experience. Nothing really positive to say about it. I feel like the victim of a mugging. Morally bankrupt soulless cooperation. Sick.

I’ve been a member of ATC Fitness, specifically the Bartlett location, for about six years now and I CANNOT recommend this gym. The facility itself is spacious and caters to the average gym-goer. It has the majority of the compound, accessory, and aerobic equipment necessary to stay well-rounded and in shape. These include, but are not limited to: squat racks, bench presses, cable machines, Lifetime Fitness accessory machines, ellipticals, treadmills, dumbbells, exercise balls, and mats. The equipment, rubber flooring, mirrors, and bathrooms are routinely vacuumed, wiped down, and cleaned. I would say it is comparable to most commercial gyms. These positive qualities are why I’ve recommended this gym to multiple friends and family members in the past.

Up until recently, I’ve had no issues with this gym. However, one of the newer rules (about a year old) is no gym bags on the floor. As a powerlifter, I use several accessories, including wrist wraps, a belt, knee sleeves, my workout plan, and water. For convenience, I bring my gym bag with my gear and tuck it away (against the wall or rack) where it is not a tripping hazard. A little over a year ago, I received a phone call from the current manager, Donald Ross, informing me about the gym’s policy on bags on the floor. For nearly a year, I started putting my bag in the locker room and would carry my gear individually to each piece of equipment I used. However, during that time, I noticed that many other gym members continued to bring their bags onto the gym floor without any enforcement of the policy.

A couple of weeks ago, I began bringing my bag again. Today, I received a call from Donald, who told me that he had received complaints from staff about the gym bag, and after being confronted by them, my membership would be canceled and not renewed. The only time I have ever been confronted by a staff member was several months ago when I was asked to use mats under the barbell when deadlifting (since the gym does not have deadlift platforms). Other than that, I can honestly say I was never confronted by staff about my gym bag specifically.

I will say that the majority of the staff is friendly and typically consists of college and high school students. It is disappointing that, after being a regular member of this gym for so long and positively recommending it to others, my time at ATC is ending this way. Nonetheless, this is my honest, full review.

If I could give this gym 0 stars I would. I started a membership with this location on Monday, October 14 and cancelled it on October 16. Signing up for membership was the worst experience, yet I allowed the customer service to be overlooked, not knowing that everyone at this location is unprofessional. I was not satisfied with the customer service I received the day I signed up and since joining the gym. I didn't and don't feel welcomed at the Bartlett location. Also, I wasn't made aware of all of the policies of the gym, therefore I decided I needed to cancel my membership, sooner than later. I found out Oct. 15 that I have 72 hours to cancel my membership. I've been emailing Don Ross, the "manager" at the Bartlett location, all day because he wanted to go back and forth with me regarding the reason I wanted to cancel, which shouldn't matter. Through email, I learned that a refund will be processed as a check vs. receiving the payment the way that I made it, which is quite frustrating. I attempted to call the gym to speak with Don about this and Erica picked up the phone, again very unprofessional as she wasn't going to ask how I'd like to be contacted back. I emailed Don in regards to finding out why it's a check. This has been one of the worst experiences. Would not recommend this gym, ever to anyone.

It’s a nice gym and good size. The staff is always friendly. The only problem is that the machines are a bit outdated and do not look clean. Every time I get on the stair master , it smells really bad. Even if I sanitize it before I use it, the smell of dirty socks and sweat is strong. It makes the workout not enjoyable.

I am very impressed with this location in Bartlett Very clean very well-maintained. I love the equipment. Some of the equipment in Arlington is in Rough shape. I do visit some of the other locations, Senatobia, Lakeland, Arlington, Southhaven, Oakland and now the one in Bartlett.
Let me be more specific of the machines In Arlington that is in bad shape A lot of the rubber handles on the machines is worn out and falling off. The cable rack is in rough shape.

So upon cancelling I was informed that they don’t immediately cancel your membership. They actually charge you another month.

I’ve never heard of a cancellation working like this where you cancel and they say yeah we’re gonna keep you another month.

I told the girl at the front desk that I would dispute with a charge back from my bank and she said they would just come after me for the funds through collection and it would hurt my credit.

She said I will not argue this with you.

They have no home base headquarters and customer service is siphoned to the Middle East.

I will not recommend ATC fitness to anyone.

If could give a zero I would. I would not go into any contract with this gym. Who does contracts these days anyway. First of all, the gym is old , smelly, and unclean. I moved away from Memphis over 3 yrs ago. Before leaving, I was sure to stop by the gym to inform them I was relocating for work. They gave me this little piece of paper with instructions how to cancel my membership. It never worked and kept giving me a error message. Fast forward, ATC has drafted 3 yrs plus monthly charges refussing to stop drafting, even my bank tried to stop them. I have to totally close my bank account of over 15yrs to just stop them from drafting $15 per month. Now that they cannot draft my account, I get call 7 days a week from them saying I owe them. I have not stepped foot in that gym for over 3yrs and donot even live in the city and they refuse to cancel my membership. I will likely have to pay an attorney to get them to close my account and stop collection. Do not, and I repeat, donot give these people access to your checking account.

The gym is convenient to my home, and most of the staff is super nice and friendly. It's a very pleasant atmosphere, but I have to give it a three because the gym equipment is old and there is rust on the bikes and peeling off on the back of the seat. Most of the time I don't want to put my water bottle in the cup holders because they are absolutely filthy. I do really like this location, but if they would just replace some of the bikes and clean up the equipment, that would be great.

Having nice and smiling workers plus 24 hour gym usage is great. Can't understate those two things. I have been a member of ATC for 23 years always paid my bill on time never late. Today 4/21 I was approached by a staff member who interrupted me while I was in conversation with others to tell me that my membership dues needed to be paid by 5/17. The staff member was way out of line in the manner she confronted me. Further more, the topic of membership payment tardy or unpaid needs to be addressed by management ONLY NOT STAFF workers.
This unfortunate situation has been brought to management's attention, and I feel confident they will take the correct steps to insure this does not occur again.

Cleaning procedures have taken a serious plunder in the 11 years i’ve attended this gym from the age of 14 to age 25. Most of the kids just hang out in the office the entire shift. I have noticed this drastic decline in the past 3 years or so. I have noticed mirrors don’t get cleaned accordingly, nor do the floors get mopped thoroughly like they used to.

Do not trust them … it sounds like it’s a cheap membership but they get you by not allowing you to get out of your contract or the membership I went inside and spoke with two separate people I called and spoke with somebody they give you two links one link you can go in and cancel with the confirmation number that never works then I found another link online that they make you pay to cancel your membership which they don’t tell you about the whole thing honestly feels like a scam I do not trust these people in the worst gym business I’ve ever done business with I’ve literally been paying for a membership for the last 7 to 8 months that I thought I canceled a year ago and then we had a clear understanding very disappointed with their ethics do not trust them

I can't comment on the quality of their equipment, but what I can say is that they are theives. I joined in 2018 but never went to the club. I had 2 memberships. I canceled both in 2019 due to a move. Fast forward i discover a collections on my credit report from ATC for 210. I was told that I didn't cancel them. Now there is no way to prove that it was canceled. I have called but have gotten no assistance. I have never had a collection before and now stuck to pay this and try and get it off my credit report in order to be approved for a mortgage in November. If I could give them a zero I would.

Biggest advantage is the hours. You can't beat 24 hour access. The gym itself is pretty clean even latenight, though recently there seems to be a high number of crawling (and flying) insects inside. Freeweight Equipment is old but serviceable, though it's time to repair/ replace some of the dumbbells. The new hip thrust machine and the H-squat are definitely appealing and rare in the Memphis area!

Sometimes I use my breath to blow off the floor before I set my phone and my rag cause I think the massive dust-bunnies are gonna take refuge in my rag, then I can wipe them on my face next time I'm wiping off the sweat. This gym has everything you need and more to get it done! More than enough space and equipment to go around. No waiting for the squat rack or the flat bench because some guy wants to baby sit it for 2 hours! Lol More cardio machines than planet fitness! What else could you ask for. Always a team of professionals on stand by to assist. I believe the staff is available from 7a.m. to 9p.m. The environment is very peaceful and motivating. This ATC hands down is one of the best.

The owner is an incredibly nice person, the machines are well maintained, the other members are incredibly friendly for the most part and will help you. I made a few friends here ranging from older folks coming there for cardio to younger guys coming to bodybuild. Amazing community. The only one thing I would change is the downstairs music station, just not me or my dad's taste of music, maybe 104.5 would do since it's a variety station. But that's so minor. I have been coming here for 2 years, and will continue to come until I ship out for BCT, after which I will return.

Overall, this more than deserves my 5 star rating.

(P.S.) Follow the rules, wrack your weights, and move your gym bags. Don't give them a bad review just because you failed to follow them.

I go to multiple locations. They equipment is clean, and yes they have rules. Re-rack your weights, keep gym bags off the gym floors and in the locker rooms. These rules are posted and have been for some time. The staff is courteous, and they are always open. I love this facility.
