So upset with this place it was posted they would have trunk or treat on sun the week before Halloween, and we went there. No one there! I don't know if they cancel because of the rain, but nothing was ever posted about that taking place

I'm very grateful for Cansler Y. Angela the yoga instructor is fantastic. I have felt too intimidated to start new programs or use the gym. I would love some regular "especially for newbies" classes in the gym and in the other classes.

We love going to this YMCA. Everyone is nice and when the children are swimming the life guards make me feel more than content. They always try to make the children happy and that is greatly appreciated. They also accommodate the kids with snacks, drinks, whatever they need. People always try to talk down about this YMCA because of the location, but it's the best one.

I was disappointed in the cost for the membership; a one-time registration fee of $40 + 51.00 per month. That's expensive!

They really donβt care about their parking situation. Thinking about ending my membership here because the parking lot is always full in the middle of the day for no reason.

I didn't use the facilities here, but I dropped something off for a friend on Friday morning, Jan 3rd, and the female worker behind the desk was extremely rude. Since I'm a firm believer in the importance of good customer service, not to mention the importance of kindness in today's world, I wanted to mention this. The YMCA can certainly do better than this. I am a member, but I use a different location.

YMCA was absolutely perfect for our first time there with my 3 kids under 6. The place is wide open, love the lounge area, the pool where we played in was fantastic! The water was so comfortable the kids and I could've stayed in it all night. Water slide was fun, not crowded for kids. Overall the facility was beyond cozy and very welcoming. We live about 15minutes away from it, we'd go here daily if we could.

3.5 stars. Pool is small, slides have been closed for a bit and donβt seem to be in any hurry to open again. Gym is also small, but very usable and seems to be closer to updated than I thought. Not a bad facility at all, just needs to finish up the updates!

This YMCA location is not family friendly as I have experienced with the other locations.
The slide for the pool is not operating because as I was told by the lifeguard, "It is rusted out and about to collapse so...".
The facility is surrounded by roaming homeless people that they welcome in to provide them with a space for coffee and a bathroom. I have nothing against a homeless individual, but there are many organizations within the area that they can go to for assistance and shelter.
And lastly, the parents are not allowed to be in the room when their kid is participating in a class. The parents are told that they may view from two windows which have a partial, obstructed view of the classroom.
I personally would not visit this location again since it was acknowledged by staff that they are aware of security concerns from non members, yet have an issue with parents being able to observe their young child's class from the back of the room.

The young googly eyed girl told me she was going to put away my Yoga mat I forgot to take home with me one day and when I returned she was very rude towards me and told me it was probably stolen. What kind of business are you running?? How difficult must it be to hold something for a day for a member? She also kept following me around like I was about to steal something. She mightβve been on something. Well, Iβm no longer a member after all of that creepy rude behavior. I would leave her name but I never got that far. Please be a bit more helpful and virtuous with your members and donβt come to work high or starting trouble. Thank you and have a nice day.

So I have been going to the C.W. Cansler Family YMCA for 2yrs now my barbers wife work, there my childhood/basketball teammates is a leader there, several of the youth of the community that I have met through our own organization outreach play ball there, multiply community members that we allie with voice and fight for our city/communities issues go there; however today S4N Team ended all memberships there due to poor customer service and false report of threats against another member unfortunately @bekah grace who is VP of marketing only further showed and demonstrated such lack of customer service and concern and even though they claim had multiple complaints only name 2 could me actually named so since no one from YMCA of East Tennessee is actually concern with why I just canceled my membership and why I highly encourage others to do so maybe the public will consider our organization recommandation on why they should no longer put their hard earn pre taxed dollars into the top 5 NONPROFIT in the country and the top 10 GLOBAL NONPROFIT economically(millionaires/billionaires) anymore. So work out is life for me but the shower room is not always the best there has been numerous times but not all the time the shower area is unsanitary. However do I not complian I just modify is most of the time I shower with the open stall so the shower curtain dont touch and for better lighting in the shower as there has been blood, other people cooties, hair etc in the shower most of the time. Also I normally do morning workouts but I have had a few evenings but most recently we have had a theft problem going on in the locker room where I had my new balance black extra nice comfortable workout shoes stolen and even 1 of the Y staff helped me look for them the day I reported them missing. Also I don't talk to people while I am working out and that is the 1x I get a few 30-60mins for self and I don't talk to anyone or bother anyone however some one has made it a complaint that they take it as disrespectful cause I don't want to talk during workout??? And the 2nd time I had a run in a kid life guard came into the shower room while I was showering to try to close a mildew/mold cover shower curtain while I was in the shower stall then she came back in the shower room mind u I am still in the shower stall showering when the 2 C.W. Cansler Family YMCA employees are still trying to force the nasty shower curtain close.I point out to the fellow employees that the shower curtain is nasty and therefore even the shower is not that clean I still did not want to have the nasty mildew mold curtain to touch my dove fresh body,, today another member calls there self confronting me about the theft with the statement being they assumed I was the theft of the locker because I open locker door and hung my towel on it while getting dress needless to say the encounter did not go well as I have had my own things stolen out the locker room but past the report to 2 staff members I have not said another word about it to anyone but the apporach and lack of unprofessionalism by the staff all the up to the leadership team member by Bekah Grace clearly shows why the staff are so poor at providing exceptional customer service especially for 1 of the largest NONPROFITS in the world. The Largest under resource areas in the city paying $36 bucks a month and up for membership is pathetic and profiting off the poor. So YMCA of East Tennessee is this what you are ok with going on in your community gym????? East Knoxville the Cansler YMCA & YMCA of East Tennessee does not deserve over prices forced donations from us any longer and I have canceled all Sleeves4Needs memberships and want to take this time @golds gym when will you guys come back to east Knoxville,, We miss u dearly!!

Low key one of the best YMCAs in East Tennessee! The upper weight room has a little outdated equipment but other than that the pool is fun, the court is real and staff are friendly. Some people are scared of this area of town but the YMCA is a safe place. definitely a must go to if one of the other YMCAs are your main hub location.
Go get a workout in...the YMCA is the YMCA no matter where you go! Kids will have too much fun in that pool as well there are two slides, enough said?
