Chonburi is such a great workout and welcoming environment. There is individualized instruction throughout each class, and you can feel yourself improve in just a short time. After each class, I really feel like I’ve accomplished something. Could not recommend this highly enough.
Reasonable membership price, gear for sale if you need it, and really fun people to train with.

Me and my 3 boys have been coming since December and we absolutely love it. The culture they breed in the gym is amazing. I mean, it’s been such a great experience that we drive about an hour to an hour and a half just to get here. If you’re on the fence about giving it a shot, just do it. You won’t regret it!

I have been coming to Chonburi Gym on and off for the past couple of years. Every time I come back they welcome me with open arms. Here are a couple things I love about this gym:
1. Amazing coaches- coaches and fighters who have years and years of experience who are always happy to teach and help you learn. Whether you’re a seasoned vet or don’t know your left from your right. They will help you!
2. There’s no ego- I’ve been to countless gyms where there’s always one or two people who think they’re better than everyone and always have that stinky attitude. There’s NONE of that here. Everyone is so happy to help!
3. It’s super clean!!! I can’t stress this enough!! The bathrooms are always in good condition and showers are always clean!
Overall a 6 out of 5 stars!!

This is hands down one of the best Muay Thai Kickboxing academies I have ever attended. Whether you are looking for a program for your kids or yourself, they have everything covered. The coaches are top-notch, providing a safe and healthy environment for all levels to learn and grow. A wonderful find with ample parking. Do not hesitate to give this place a try. You will be thankful and on a journey to living your best, most healthy life while learning real-life defense skills for you and your family.

This is officially my 2nd home and I love it!!! Everyone is cool here, the coaches are great, and there is none of that ego shit like in most gyms. I had some doubts when I first came in, but let me tell you, they quickly went away. I got my ass whooped by kids, women, and dudes half my size. That humbled me real quick and I've been coming back nonstop ever since. My only regret is I wished started sooner. 4real, that's my only regret!!!

I will be forever grateful for all that Chonburi Muay Thai has given me and continues to give me. At 37 years old, I knew I needed to be more active to maintain mobility and health in the decades to come, but I would always get bored with running or weightlifting. When looking for more engaging activities, I saw how great this gym looked, but I was afraid of trying something so unfamiliar to me: I had never done any other martial arts or even played any intramural sports growing up. But I'm so glad I decided to give Chonburi Muay Thai a try.
The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming to all types of people of any fitness level and I always feel a strong sense of safety and belonging. The coaches are also outstanding; they're encouraging, they push you, and during class, they take time to give you the specific advice you need in the moment to get better. After a year of going to classes, I've learned a lot, I feel stronger, and I'm more confident. It's a deep character building experience that has echoed into many other areas of my life.

I've really enjoyed my time at this gym! The coaches are super nice and clearly very knowledgeable about muay thai. The head coach, Kru Bruce, has been training since he was 7 or 8 and has decades of experience at this point and has been very helpful. The second in command, Coach David, also known as geodude or Lex Luther, is also very helpful. He's a funny guy, too, sometimes. Coach Steven and Coach Ron, who teaches the beginner and all levels classes, are really nice and always make sure the beginners are helped out. All the coaches have been very helpful to my progress in muay thai.

Our son loves going to Chonburi for their youth Muay Thai classes. The environment in the gym is super welcoming and the coaching staff there is absolutely fantastic with kids. They keep their youth classes fun and playful but at the same time teach and exercise the kids a lot. We really appreciate how the coaches take the time to give every single kid personal feedback throughout class. It’s not uncommon for there to be 2-3 coaches helping out with the youth classes, so every kid is getting a lot of personal technical correction as well as encouragement. It’s been a delight to watch our son get so excited about learning Muay Thai during his time at Chonburi, and we’re very grateful to have Chonburi Muay Thai in the local community!

Only been training here for about three months, but I can confidently say that not only is this the best Muay Thai gym in Nashville, but probably one of the best in the country. I've trained at various Muay Thai and MMA gyms in multiple states and Chonburi ranks at the top of my list for coaches, level of instruction/attention to detail, gym atmosphere, class structure/variance, and class options/scheduling. First of all, this is real Muay Thai. If you can't afford to train in Phuket, don't worry, you can drive down the street here in Nashville and get the same experience with Owner/Kru Bruce. The other coaches that I've had the pleasure to learn from - David (General Manager), Chike, Stephen, Jason, Ron, and Michael - they're all legit also and extremely friendly. These guys emphasize form and fundamentals very well, which has helped me a lot in just a short time. They will watch you, offer guidance and instruction, and PUSH you to get better, and probably lose some lbs in the process. Furthermore, the coaches have established an amazing gym atmosphere here. If you have experience in combat sports, you've probably trained at a few gyms that have a handful of guys that tee off on the less experienced, which kills morale, leads to unnecessary injuries and training setbacks, and scares off beginners. Chonburi doesn't have that at all. They structure their classes appropriately for your level, they offer different level classes at multiple times throughout the week to accommodate schedules, and even if you end up training with someone out of your league, everyone is so friendly & helpful that you don't have to worry about suffering an unnecessary injury. Whether you're experienced or brand new and curious about getting into Muay Thai, this is the place to go to.

I have only been at Chonburi for less than 6 months, but I love it. Joining the gym as a beginner has a huge benefit of a cohort of your peers. One where you can grow and get to know your fellow beginners and create a community at your level. Some what if a support system and a friend group. Coming to the gym and pushing my comfort zone is one of the highlights of my day. If you aren't confident in your abilities or just have low confidence, this gym is for you. The coachs and the experienced students are like a family and very encouraging and supportive. They constantly produce quality class which in turn reflect in the growth of there students. Definitely a hidden gym of nashville. 10/10 would recommend anyone to check it out no matter what your looking for; competition, beginner, cardio, sparring for fun this muay thai gym is your spot. I can't stress enough of how a community the gym is be friendly be humble and this gym will change your life.

From my first visit to Chonburi Muay Thai, I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere fostered by both the staff and fellow members. It's not just a gym; it’s a tight-knit community where everyone, regardless of their skill level, is encouraged and supported.
The coaches at Chonburi Muay Thai are truly in a league of their own. Their depth of knowledge about Muay Thai, combined with their patience in teaching, makes every session invaluable. They cater to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced fighters, ensuring that every member gets the attention and guidance they need to improve. It’s rare to find coaches who not only excel in their sport but also possess the patience and dedication to teach others with such care and precision.
Another aspect of Chonburi Muay Thai that stands out is their commitment to the fighters' health. It's evident that the well-being of the members is a top priority. The coaches are always mindful of safety, teaching proper techniques to minimize the risk of injury, and promoting a healthy approach to training and fighting.
Whether you're looking to become a competitive fighter or simply want to learn a new skill in a friendly environment, Chonburi Muay Thai is the place to be. I wholeheartedly recommend.

No matter what skill level, if you are a looking for a place to train Muay Thai in Nashville, this is the spot!
Muay Thai is a very humbling practice, but Chonburi Muay Thai makes it so much less intimidating with its qualified coaches and all of the wonderful people who attend. I have made incredible friends at Chonburi, who I know will remain in my life for a long time!
The classes are designed to push you, but I have never felt like form was ever overlooked. Any bit of advice that any of the coaches give me (Coach Bruce, David, Hannah, Stephen, etc.) I know I can trust because they know Muay Thai and are constantly improving in their practice as well. Training can get tough, especially around fight camp season, but to me, that's just part of the experience.. and what I signed up for!

I’ve been at chonburi for about 3 years now, and I continue to be impressed with coach Bruce, all the coaches under him, and the vast majority of people who come into the space. Everyone there wants to see you grow in the sport, from coaches, to fighters, to teammates, you can always find someone there willing to help you. I have been taking privates with Bruce since day 1. My intro into Muay Thai was a private session with coach Bruce, and we haven’t stopped laughing together since. Bruce has always been very patient with me, I tend to be my worst critic, so I can get frustrated with myself during sessions. Bruce (and all of the other coaches) are great at reconginzing that frustration, and helping me redirect it and focus on the technique. When I first started I was only interested in learning because I had tried out a cardio kickboxing gym and wanted to learn actual technique. In the time I have been there, my desire to just learn technique turned into a desire to fight. Bruce took that seriously, and helped me make that happen. I had my first fight ever this year, and will continue to train and fight with Coach Bruce and the CMT team! If you’re looking for a place that teaches real Muay Thai, AND creates a community environment that is very inviting, I highly recommend checking out CMT. Not only is Bruce incredibly patient and kind, AND very knowledgeable, but all of the people under him who coach has the same passion for helping people learn. Chiké teaches a great clinch class, Stephen, Ron, David, DC, Jason all teach amazing beginner level classes, Hannah and Aaron are incredible with kids. I truly can’t say enough about how incredible this place is and all the people there. Not only have I learned Muay Thai technique, but I have learned more about discipline, respect for others and myself, and what it means to be apart of a team.
If you’re looking for a real Muay Thai experience, it’s here. The gym is HOT, but I find as long as I stay hydrated, I am fine. If you enjoy fun challenges, learning every time you’re there, and creating great friendships, this is the place.

Having never done any kind of martial art before, I was super nervous the first time I went to a class. The nerves went away pretty quickly because this gym is so amazing. The general atmosphere is extremely welcoming, and it doesn't matter if you are a true novice or a very experienced fighter. All of the coaches are genuinely invested in your improvement and that is a sentiment shared by the members too.
But in addition to the open and friendly vibe of the gym, the coaching is top notch and truly excellent. It doesn’t matter which coach is leading a class, you will get a great workout with clear instructions and demos. Coaches are always ready to help you out in class if you're confused about a combo or after class if you need advice on a technique. Coach Bruce sets a high standard, and you will absolutely improve if you put in the work at this gym.
Be advised, the gym gets seriously hot in the summer, so do not forget to bring water and stay hydrated.
For real though, if you've been curious about trying Muay Thai there is pretty much no better place to start.

My experience with this gym has been quite different from the other reviewers. After over 7 months of training here, I could only describe my experience as uncomfortably unpleasant. I could look past the tiny training space packed with students, the lack of water fountains/being charged for water, the complete lack of education regarding muay thai essentials (no coach ever even told me to buy wrist wraps after 5+ months of showing up without them), the process of boiling alive due to the lack of AC in 90+ degree summer weather, and the super fast paced and unforgiving BEGINNER class, only because I did, in fact, get a good work out in.
What I cannot tolerate is a nasty, disrespectful attitude from the owner, Bruce (the other coaches are fine). Bruce is extremely rude and unprofessional and has been hostile to me on several occasions since I got there, never making an effort to make me feel welcome. I completely avoided him at all costs as a result, but sometimes he teaches classes. However, on Aug 30th, I had to leave class 5 min early due to a personal matter and he ditched class to chase after me into the parking lot where he screamed, "HEY!!! HEY YOU! YOU CAN'T LEAVE MY CLASS WITHOUT TELLING ME FIRST!" After all this time showing up every week and multiple talks, he still didn't even know my name... I could've been sick or hurting or had anything going on in life causing me to leave class. He couldn't have cared less about me. Aaannnddd... last time I checked, I'm a grown, 30 year old man who literally PAYS Bruce's salary. No paying adult has to ask your permission to leave, Bruce, and that certainly isn't the way to get people to start.
I immediately cancelled my membership. Muay thai was supposed to be fun, not stressful, yet there I was getting yelled at by an angry, little man in the middle of a dark parking lot AND PAYING MY HARD EARNED MONEY FOR THE PRIVILEGE lol... Bruce, I'm not sure if all those kicks to your head scrambled your little brains, but that is so beyond uncalled for. I hope you get the professional help you so desperately need for your aggression, control, and anger issues. You're clearly unstable. I've got some resources on hand, so just reach out if you're lost! xo

My gym for almost a year now! Love the coaches, atmosphere, workout schedules. The coaches really know how to teach, and they are serious about fight prep! Coach Bruce has built a special place here! I get very productive and personally tailored private 1-on-1 training sessions with Coach David. Coach Chike teaches a great clinch class. All of the coaches do a wonderful job. I am excited to train here for a very long time!

CMT is the real deal. Whether you want to fight, learn a skill or get a killer workout, this place is the best. You will not find a better, more authentic Muay Thai gym in Tennessee. Coach Bruce fought and trained with some of the best fighters in the world, he’s an incredible coach, and has lived the life as he is from Thailand. This is as real as it gets.

Not really a fighting gym but it’s good if you want to go get a workout and do some cardio kickboxing. They throw some solid techniques in there so it makes it fun, but this gym is in no way a “fighting” gym. There is no fine line between the fight team and the people who just train for fun, which is cool it creates a fun vibe. But if you want to be a fighter and go pro or are already a pro I would not suggest training here.

I was visiting Nashville for work and was looking for an authentic Muay Thai gym. That's not always so easy, depending on where I am. Luckily I found Chonburi Muay Thai and signed up for a drop in beginner class. I'm definitely not a pro- I'm a super enthusiastic amateur hobbyist but not a beginner either- however, their (very intelligent) policy is that no matter who you think you are, if you've never been there before, you take the beginner class. I couldn't be happier. Kru Bruce watched from the sidelines while the coach, Dee, went drilled us in basic combinations, shadowboxing, and pad work. I got some helpful feedback from Dee, Kru Bruce, and my training partner. Everyone was super welcoming and made me feel like I had a home in Nashville. Thank you so much, Chonburi Muay Thai!!!! It's the real deal here. When I come back to Nashville, you can bet I'll be back!

Without a doubt, the best Muay Thai gym in Middle Tennessee. I've been around the martial arts scene for quite some time and can spot sketchy gyms and big headed students/coaches. This isn't one of those gyms. Everyone helps each other here and there's never an ego problem. If you want to learn how to defend yourself and get a good workout in at the same time, check it out.

As someone who's been around gyms in Middle TN for over 6 years now this is the best Muay Thai gym in Nashville! Very friendly environment and a big facility to learn in. I recommend training with Kru Bruce to any adults and children wanting to learn, from beginners to advanced practitioners! My first time there I was immediately impressed with the gym and Bruces methods of teaching a beginner like myself. Kids classes are usually held in the front half of the gym. I highly recommend bringing your little ones to learn Muay Thai, as it's not only proven to help with physical health but improves psychological well being in young children as well. Learning to have confidence and to be independent in decision making but also learning team work along the way. 10/10 will be returning to train here again!

Just finished my first free class and I signed up before I left. It was that good! If you are looking for Muay Thai kickboxing at an old-school style boxing gym where they'll teach you proper form, this is it. I have been kickboxing for a few months at another business, but this place knocked my socks off! I was thrilled to have found a place like this where I can improve my technique and go further than just basic fitness. I can't wait for my next class!!
Update: still attending a year later and loving every minute of this class!

Hands down best Muay Thai gym in Nashville. If you are looking to learn the art of Muay Thai (no cardio kickboxing here) then Chonburi is the place for you. No matter what skill level you are, Bruce and David will work with you and help you improve. Each week is focused on something different so you are guaranteed to learn new techniques/combos. On top of the teaching, the gym has a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend you check this place out. You won’t regret it!

I can say without a doubt this is the best gym i have ever been a part of. The sense of community you feel on the first day is overwhelming and even the newest member feels welcome. Bruce, David, and the rest of the coaching staff have not only created an incredible gym but an incredible group of people who genuinely want to see you grow and succeed. I learn more about this art and about myself every time i step through the door. If you want to train to compete, or just want to learn the art of Muay Thai, or even just want to get in better shape, you can find that here. If you are on the fence i urge you to come try a class and see for yourself. This place changed my life.

I did online research to find an authentic traditional Muay Thai gym in Nashville Tn. The second hurdle was to see if I would be accepted to train due to my age. I scheduled an appointment with Bruce and was so impressed with his professionalism, integrity, and passion for Muay Thai that I immediately signed up for lessons. I could not believe how welcoming and friendly Bruce made me feel. Everyone that comes to his gym is treated that way and he accepts all ages and offers classes for kids, beginners, women's only class and advance Muay Thai. I have been taking private lessons for two years and cannot believe the progression I have made. I attribute this to Bruce's coaching and unsurpassed knowledge of Muay Thai. Bruce is a Muay Thai Champion from Thailand and there is not another coach in the Nashville area that has the experience and understanding of authentic Muay Thai like Bruce!

It has been over a year since I've joined this gym. The members itself are more welcoming than going to any retail store, grocery store, business meeting(s), family reunion and etc.(you get the picture hahaha!) to all. Seeing that tells me so much of what the coach/gym is like before I even met Bruce(coach).
The work ethnic is all around there. The members are example of that thanks to Bruce showing his pride&passion of doing what he loves to do and instilling more of that to them on a daily basis IN&OUT of the gym! I can tell you more about us when you come try the free class(after training of course)!

The learning environment at Chonburi Muay Thai is friendly and you will usually have a partner that points out your technique and how to better it. If you really want to, you can ask someone to help you out during extra time and they will usually be glad to go over what you need help with. In overall the environment there is friendly and effective. Moving on, the Coach here is experienced and a knowledgeable Coach with solid technique and as well looks well after his students. He makes sure to go over the lesson multiple times so students get it more memorized. If a student is doing it wrong he will help correct it. In overall the Coach is willing to help you learn more and is very sociable along with supportive. I personally like this gym and am happy I chose to be a student here. If you want to learn Muay Thai in depth and get a lot of things covered this is the place you should very well consider.

I was looking for a place to get back into martial arts after a hiatus with some long standing health issues. I wanted to get back into shape and was interested in authentic Muay Thai, but was concerned with getting injured. I called and spoke with Bruce and he really listened to my concerns and worked with me accordingly. He knew exactly what to do. He moved at a pace that has helped me get into the best shape I've been since I can remember. If you have always wanted to train in Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA, this is the time and place to do it. The staff, students, are very supportive(no ego) and are a testament to the care he takes in his gym( it feels more like a village where EVERYONE is welcome). It's a safe and non intimidating environment. If you are new to martial arts, I would say you will be hard pressed to find a better place to train as he is very patient and extremely knowledgable. Moving from a much bigger city I was concerned with the quality of instruction at the local gyms in this town. Although there are some gyms that I would not recommend, being ex-military and having trained martial arts in the past I feel like I have a good bases for comparison, and this is as good as it gets.

I ended up getting seriously injured and surgery with the owner when he had his Murfreesboro location over a year ago. I was new and asking to pay for private lessons but recommended his group class which was advanced students. Some told me they were with him for ten years.. When my knee snapped and was unstable and I told him in class he just told me to take off the equipment and and didn't check on me. A week later I messaged him my diagnosis and told him he should give warm-up and separate beginners (I heard now he does) ad he left a short reply and I never heard from him again. A year later and my knee is much recovered after surgery and physical rehab but I can't run yet. My other friend who does Muay Thai in Poland said as a first time student I should have been warmed-up and placed with beginners not ten year veteran students. But I guess now he changed that at his new Antioch location.

Chonburi Muay Thai is a great place to train and Bruce is the Man! He is a very experienced Muay Thai Coach and highly knowledgeable in all aspects of Mixed Martial Arts. I started doing private lessons when I first met him and quickly became friends. He took time away from work to fly to Brazil and corner me in my UFC fight. I've had the privilege of seeing Bruce work with all levels and all ages of people and it's always great to be a part of it. So if you've ever thought about training or just curious, I would highly recommend giving it a try!!! StayChoppin

One day I decided I wanted to get out of this box I lived in. I always knew I wanted to take a boxing class. One day I stumbled upon the Chonburi Muay Thai website. The next day I watched the class to see if it would be something I would be interested in. The day after that I joined. I didn't even know how to wrap my hands. Nor did I know much about the art. I knew it was something I wanted to try. Coach is an amazing teacher. The people (my teammates) are extremely helpful and friendly. There are no egos at this gym. Today, I can't imagine not having the art and the people in my life. They become family. It's the best place for authentic Muay Thai.
