I wanted to take a moment to highlight my experience tonight at Climb Nashville East. One of the team members, Will, spent nearly an hour walking me through different climbing shoes, explaining the differences, and helping me choose what would best fit my current level of climbing. His knowledge, patience, and dedication to the sport really stood out.

Climb Nashville has always been a staple in our city—I’ve been involved off and on since high school—but it’s the community and genuine care shown by their team that makes it such a success. Since returning to the gym over the past month (after being away since COVID), I’ve consistently been impressed. Every staff member (Sam, Graham, Will, Etc.) I’ve interacted with has been supportive, passionate, well-trained, and genuinely pleasant.

Nashville is lucky to have a place like this—where people can learn, grow, and connect with others through climbing in such a positive community environment. 10 Stars, if I could. -Logan Y.

Climb east is a very small climbing gym but the space is very well utilized.

on the left of the entrance, there is a pretty decent training room with a MOON board and various hang boards.

on the right of the entrance there is a small cave-like bouldering room with plenty of routes. No belay here though. One cool feature was the weightlifting and exercise room above the bouldering section. it's hard to explain but it's visible in photos. It's like a mezzanine.

Overall a very chill and low-key climbing gym that I enjoyed visiting. much less busy that climb west, but if you get a day pass you can visit both locations. 👍

I've been a member for 10 years. During that time, I've seen them open 3 new gyms, and prices have gone up pretty sharply every year, so they must be doing okay financially. They do not pay their staff a living wage in Nashville, and it was even worse before a walkout was threatened. If you can't afford to pay your employees, you can't afford to open new gyms. They don't have enough setters, so the boulders at West are up forever, and now they're not marking the start holds at East because it takes too long to scrape off the previous labels.... Please at least use some tape. Also they're (once again) giving routes ranges instead of ratings, which is frustrating. I think this is the third time I've seen this happen. Each time they go back to just giving ratings like other gyms.

Been a member for years and it would so cool if they weren’t spraying water upstairs while you are working out when they close in over an hour :) It would be really cool so my socks don’t get wet when I’m putting back equipment! If they want to close at 5pm instead of 6pm just do that but it is so lame to be forced out of the gym an hour before close when members pay so much to be there.

This gym is awesome. When I went it instantly cured my cancer and nursed me back to health. We’d have such good times, we would laugh and cry together. Climb Nashville east was the best man (or gym) at my wedding and is the godfather of my 7 children.

Another "be careful getting a membership" story. On the website it clearly states CANCEL OR FREEZE ANYTIME, but they mention in much lower contrast that you should allow 14 days for membership changes. Ok ok maybe I should have planned better, but ripping a tendon in your hand and not being able to climb for at least a month means paying $90 for a gym that you cannot use. Maybe then they would waive the 14 day window. Nah, it doesn't matter unless the injury was documented at one of their gyms. Its not like they care, they are basically are the only show in Nashville and their monopoly shows in their customer support.

This review is for this location only. Main complaint is the hours. Anytime I want to go is when it’s closed. It’s tiny with a square layout so going when it’s even remotely busy is a miserable experience. Pads are somewhat blown out in the taller area. Setting turnover is a tad slow but just enough to be acceptable. In todays gym landscape this location is mid-quality but high price. Nice people but since I moved over to this side of town I’m just finding it hard to be worth it to keep my membership.

Good gym. Solid setting and fun problems. The place isn’t huge. The day pass at $27 does seem really steep given the size of the gym though. However, I’d pay it again.

Great gym, friendly staff, decent setting. I’ve been a member for 3 years and I live a few minutes from climb east, and it’s been continuously painful that I can’t climb on a weekend evening. Or any morning. The hours are pretty inopportune and I know that I would get so much more climbing time if they were open then, or if they opened earlier in the morning.

As much as I love small gyms, I wasn’t impressed. For the $20+ day pass, I was expecting more. The setting definitely does not keep up with the amount of traffic that the problems get. If I wasn’t climbing on the new set, the holds looked like they had been up for months(even though they probably haven’t). The holds were absolutely trashed with boot rubber and extremely dirty. There are no windows at all in the main area and the HVAC unit was non existent. The gym was literally packed at peak hours and it smelled terrible. The aroma of feet, funk, and body odor was thick in the air. I felt like I was at a sold out concert, packed in like sardines. There was literally no where to sit down and people are climbing over you, under you, and walking under you while you climb. This gym is way too small for the amount of people that use the facility. The setting was not horrible. The setting wasn’t incredible either. There was some good stuff and a lot of ok stuff. If I roll through town again, I’ll probably seek out a different gym or just go during non peak hours. A redeeming quality was that the staff was extremely friendly and everyone was very nice. I don’t like to hate on gyms but this place could use a little something. If you compare this gym to gyms like Dog Patch or The Front, this gym is pretty bad. As far as modern gyms go, it hits the modern level at an absolute minimum. At least they have a Moon board, which had way too many people during peak hours.

We had a great trip to Nashville where this gym was our brief pit stop and introduction to climbing in Nashville. The climbs were challenging, varied, and unique. Rated really well. Really enjoyed our trip but a special shout-out to Maddie who was working the day we visited who was so kind and welcoming! Highly recommend this gym and their wonderful staff!!

This is the friendliest climbing gym I’ve ever been to. The setting is solid. There were some tricky chiminey moves that is specific to the gym tachar stumped me. It’s not a super big gym but there service especially Maddie is the best.

Extensive experience visiting various Boulder gym across the country. Disappointed by how small this gym was and how many people walked around bare feet. To be clear, barefoot is common in rock climbing gym however if you’re exercising around weights other members will come up the stairs and place yoga mats nearby swinging their feet all over the place as comfortably as 1 foot away from you. It’s part of their culture so be aware when considering monthly regular membership.

Nice little bouldering gym. Workout area with all you could need for a solid workout. They have showers which is unusual. Way too crowded in the evening…don’t plan on going back for that reason. At least not at the same times. Lots to do in the immediate area. Parking wasn’t a problem.

At the time of this review, I hadn’t been climbing in years but I’ve been looking for an activity to add to my workouts.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and it’s easy to get set up as a member.

If you get there at open, you pretty much have the walls to yourself. The gym is more catered to experienced climbers in my opinion. The level of difficulty seems to jump largely from V1 to V2. That’s fine though, just a bigger challenge to overcome.

If you’re like me and can’t go above V1 just yet, there are still like 6+ routes to cycle through. It’s a good time.

Great little Bouldering gym! Nice and clean.
They have quality setting with a good diversity of climbing styles.

Moon board!
The training set up here is really solid with all the stuff you need and not too much else.

Best bouldering gym in Nashville. Solid variety of routes for all skill levels, with an upstairs gym if you want to work out.

Just one thing to note, it is ONLY bouldering. Great time overall!

Great little boulder gym and workout area. My wife and I stopped on our way through town.
Problems were very fun and set in very clever ways.
Gym was clean and I wasn't breathing in chalk constantly.
Grades seemed sandbagged a bit compared to what I'm used to.

Favorite place to boulder (aside from the new Murfreesboro location)! The staff are friendly and helpful, the wall routes are mostly well-plotted, and the facility fits snugly between some great food and coffee spots to satisfy after a great workout. Highly recommended!

Really solid bouldering gym w/ workout studio on mezzanine. There’s a great range of problems throughout the gym and even the steepest grades have routes to accommodate beginner climbers. They also have showers and snacks!

Great facilities, routes change often and usually feel accurately rated. Vibes are awesome and very chill, staff is friendly, and music is always A+. As a person who primarily boulders, this place feels how I want a climbing gym to feel.

Great facilities and staff. The routes change pretty regularly, so there's something new to try every week or two. My only complaint is that they don't label the routes directly, but they usually have done cheat she's floating around.

This is a fun little spot for some climbing. The gym is not large, and there is very little top-roping at this location. When my friend and I first got there the place was a little crowded, but it eventually calmed down as the evening went on. The routes are pretty good, and although they intentionally don't rate all of them, the ones that are rated seem in line with the actual difficulty. One unique aspect of these walls are all the inverted routes. There are comparatively very few vertical walls, most perfect out at you which can really be difficult if your footwork and hand strength isn't fully developed. I'd say this gym on the whole is better for experienced bouldering climbers than new folks, and definitely not for top climbers.

Very small bouldering gym with a few top rope and a couple auto belays on short walls. Great staff. I could not find good routes as a beginner looking some good challenges, most were too easy or way too hard.

★ 4

The only reason this is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because I do belay and am not strong enough for bouldering, which is East's selling point. There just weren't enough walls for belay. But, I just want to say that after going to West last night, I longed for the people who worked at East on Saturday. They were beyond friendly and accommodating and I really can't say enough about how great they were, especially when compared to the people they have working at West
who literally asked me 5 times if I needed to pay $15 for a belay lesson AFTER I told them I had been at Easy 4 days prior. I felt like they were being commissioned to give belay lessons.

My 8 year-old son decided to have his birthday party at Climb Nashville East. The staff (Taylor, Mikayla and Timber) were an amazing team, working together to make sure that the boys in the party had a great time, and to ensure that the parents didn't have to do much, if anything. We were so pleased with the friendliness, the service and the quality of the staff! Anyone who has ever tried to organize anything for young kids can tell you the frustrations of picking a venue that says they do parties, but in reality never really thought it through. I really can't say enough good about how well organized they are! It was downright fun. Take that, Chuck-E. :)
