It’s our second year at Collierville Ballet School and we love it. Our eldest daughter has been dancing for over 7 years and she has attended different schools. Collierville Ballet School has been a great fit for her and her younger sister. Our 2 daughters have progressed immensely while being able to showcase their talents in several occasions through the year. The film length Nutcracker in December is only one of the many opportunities the students have to perform. Our girls feel supported on a learning environment that has structure, clear goals and kindness. Mrs Julie makes sure all kids are respectful among themselves, and with the teachers. This experience is also providing them discipline and love for arts and sports. I highly recommend Collierville Ballet School.

I am forever grateful to Collierville Arts Academy for their excellent fencing program. Coach Tom went out of his way to help my son find his sport and it will be one he intends to do for a lifetime. The set up allows for development through fencing others of all levels.

I’ve been dancing here for years and I’ve loved every second of it!! The instructors are amazing and I have learned so much from them. They really teach you how to DANCE and not just do random steps. I also love that I get to perform dances rather than just compete them in a competition, I’m less competitive so it’s great for me! Their staff is also wonderful as well. Every experience I’ve had with the staff has been professional, they always do their best to understand and fix your situation. They are very communicative with emails, texts, etc which is nice. I’ve made so many good friends here too, the community is great! People really support each other which is good to see today! There’s lots of hatred in the world, my advice is don’t add to it, always treat others with respect and kindness and you will most likely get that back. Especially at CAA! 🩰

My son has been dancing here for 6 years. He’s learned focus, discipline, and dedication and it shows in other areas of his life - schoolwork, friendships, etc. The staff and other dancers are like a second family. He has also taken an art class at CAA and learned the fundamentals to become a great young artist. We love CAA!

My daughter has danced ballet, jazz, contemporary and lyrical with CAA for 14 years. It has been her number one passion and talent, with friendships and dance expertise she'll carry with her through life.

My daughter is in her third year of dance here. I love that she’s learning classic ballet skills while having fun. Ms. Julie and Ms. Abby truly want every student to succeed and are very clear in their expectations. When my daughter started in kindergarten, the class was “easy” and “fun” - the teachers were so understanding that attention spans are short and young kids are wiggly! Now that we’re growing in our dance skills, they appropriately expect the dancers to pay attention all while still encouraging them to have fun and express themselves. We love dancing in the shows and my daughter has a real sense of accomplishment.

This is our third season at CAA. The staff is great. Mrs. Julie, the owner, is exceptionally professional and not only teaches dance to her students, but how to be respectful, confident, and kind. All of the events offered to participate in throughout the holidays makes it extra special for the kids. Our Collierville community would not be the same without CAA. The Nutcracker performance is magical every year. Highly recommend.

CAA is the third dance studio we've tried in the area, and it is BY FAR the best! Mrs. Julie (the owner) is the definition of poised, fair, organized, disciplined, honest and pleasant. She has helped my girls not only learn polished ballet and tap but also life lessons and self-confidence. She always knows just what to say and handles everything with such elegance. We love the atmosphere and her guidance and will dance here for many years to come!

If I can give this place a zero I would because of the lack of communication and disrespect from the owner and staff.

Because you have to put your card on file when joining the school they have access to charge your card whenever. When I noticed I was charged an extra $55 in the month of November I asked Ms.Julie the director of the school what the charge was for. She told me that it was a custom fee for the recital in May and if we decided to not participate in the recital that we will be able to apply the $55 towards tuition. Later I decided to withdraw my daughter from the school. I asked them to apply the $55 towards the last month they charge upon withdrawal. Expected to be charge an additional $20 being that a months tuition is $75 and clarified with Abbey the Receptionist when I turned in my withdrawal form. To then be charge then entire $75. Still believing in the good of people and ethics in their business I figured I would call and explain what had happen and everything would get fix. Instead they never picked up or return my call after leaving a voicemail. Instead I received an email from Ms.Julie stating that costume fee are non refundable. Even though I wasn’t asking for a refund I was simply asking for the charge to be applied towards tuition being that my daughter wasn’t participating in the recital. I tried calling multiple times and still no answer so I decided to take a trip to have a conversation with Ms.Julie. Ms.Julie was very condescending and continued to interrupt me while I was trying to explain her the entire situation. She ended up cutting me off mid sentence for the last time and dismissed herself. My 5 year old daughter who looked up to Ms.Julie and was attending her class for several months was doing the potty dance and told me she really had to use the restroom. I started to walk towards the restroom with my daughter when Ms.Julie told me my daughter her former student is not allowed to use her restroom she needs to go next door to the gas station. My daughter was very hurt and I was disgusted.

I am happy with my decision of withdrawing my daughter from this school. It was never about the money for me, rather about ethics and professionalism which clearly they have none at the Collierville Arts academy. These people don’t accept honest feedback only compliments. They never admit to any wrong doing and never apologize.

My daughter has been dancing with Collierville Arts and Collierville Ballet for 1.5 years. We have had nothing but positive experiences with this studio, the owners, and her instructors. She has really grown as a dancer in this time, and I've loved how caring this environment is.

My daughter has been dancing at CAA for three years and we couldn't be happier with the experience. CAA is a wonderful classical ballet studio that focuses on teaching technique and growing each child as a dancer. Dance is a discipline and the instructors at CAA treat it as such, but also make sure that they are creating a fun and nurturing environment for all the dancers. The girls are all so wonderful and supportive of each other thanks to Julie Knowles' leadership and the tone she sets for the studio.

The class wasn’t at all what we thought. We went in for a free day to sit in and check it out before signing up. We were told that it would a lot more children there at my daughters age. She’s homeschooled, so we were really looking forward to that. It was 2 students (including my daughter all year). Also my daughter didn’t “learn” how to do much. It was pretty much freestyle all year long. She also didn’t like how the teacher picked up her work to show her how it could be better, and ruin her picture (lol). I wouldn’t sign up again. It wasn’t worth the money and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. Sorry.

My daughters have loved taking dance, music and art lessons at Collierville Arts Academy! Mrs. Julie and Mrs. Abby have done a beautiful job of instructing my daughters in ballet, jazz and tap. My daughters have also gotten the amazing experiences of dancing in The Nutcracker and Showcase at Harrel Theater. Mr. Brian has made piano such a fun and enjoyable experience. My daughter practices every day without prompting because she sincerely loves to play! Mr. Tony and Mrs. Catherine have also been patient and effective art teachers. I’m so glad we have a place like Collierville Arts Academy in our town- where kids have fun while developing lifelong skills!

Absolutely love the CAA team. My son is enrolled in Tigers karate and has benefited so much from the personalized attention and care from Sensei Tom. I have seen an increase in confidence, patience and perseverance since joining the class. I really believe they are working to teach lasting life skills to the students and this is so much more than an extracurricular activity. I would 100% recommend to anyone.

My daughters loved their first season of ballet, tap, and jazz dance at CAA. Mrs. Julie sets the expectations high but at the same time is patient and kind. Mrs. Abby is wonderful also. Ballet students get the opportunity to perform every December in the Collierville Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker, alongside professional dancers. What I love about this studio is that the focus is on ballet and they follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Many dance studios focus on gymnastic type moves and competitions, with some inappropriate costumes and song choices for young girls. You won’t find that at CAA. Costumes are beautiful and appropriate, but not stuffy, and the music sometimes fun and sometimes classical, but never suggestive in any way. We love CAA!

I signed up my kids for summer session, and my kids liked going there for art and dance. The one star is for the unprofessionalism of the owner. I was charged fees for something I didn’t sign up my kids for! However, the problem is not the charge, but it is for when I asked what was I’m being charged for. I was treated disrespectfully and the owner said to me “there is lots of mis language ” assuming I don’t understand what she’s talking about because I’m from a different race. Meanwhile all of our communication was in English, and I made it clear to her that it’s miscommunication between her and her staff members. She shouldn’t assume that I don’t speak or understand English just because I look or dress a certain way. Her comments and body expression were very disrespectful and very offensive. I don’t recommend this place for lack of professionalism, and again the one star is not for the service because my kids liked going there. But I will never support businesses that treat people according to their look!

Ms. Julie and Master Tom are wonderful instructors. Due to Covid, my daughter’s recital on stage had to be cancelled. CAA went ABOVE AND BEYOND by videotaping individual students, and putting together a movie for everyone. They are AMAZING!! I highly, highly recommend CAA for dancers, martial arts, fine arts, etc. :)

I cannot thank Collierville Arts Academy enough for helping shape the performing and fine artist I've become. They are without a doubt the most professional, inspiring, and personable academy of the arts in the region (and their longtime, steadfast presence in the mid-south is testament to that.) If you want classical training, a breadth of choices, and a place where your student is appreciated and supported throughout their journey as artists, dancers, musicians, models, and so forth--look no further than Collierville Arts Academy. Thank you CAA for always inspiring!

Highly unprofessional! Wife was excited about starting her art class today. She arrived early at 12:40 for her 1pm appointment, but not one person came to greet her at the desk . She called while she was there, and was told someone would be out shortly to greet her. Well 50 minutes later, not a peep from anyone. Anyone considering this place for any class should look elsewhere!

We tried art classes for our 5-year-old over the summer, and now we're starting dance classes with Mrs. Julie. My daughter loves it, and the instructors are very good. I love that they have a variety of different creative arts to explore.
