This gym is hands down one of the worst-run organizations I’ve ever dealt with., we were told our membership would be canceled.

That was a year and a half ago. Since then, I’ve delt with four different general managers (because they keep getting fired), and each time I’ve been told the same thing “we’ll take care of it.” Yet here we are, still getting charged.

If you’re considering joining, do yourself a favor and choose another gym.

This has been the most poorly run organization I’ve ever dealt with. My 16-year-old son originally had a membership here, but after a policy change, we were told minors were no longer allowed to have memberships. We were assured his membership would be canceled.

Fast forward a year and a half, and after numerous calls to four different general managers (since they keep getting replaced), I was again promised that the membership would finally be canceled this week. Instead, I was charged yet again.

At this point, I would strongly advise anyone considering a membership here to choose another gym.

It is so unfortunate. This was my go to gym for many years and it was time to say goodbye. It wasn’t only because of the change in opening hours from 4am to 5am, but new management has it all wrong. The opener was late and opened at 5:20 one morning and had been late and asleep and on the phone. Same trash has sat in the mens locker room for weeks. They really haven’t done anything to keep their customers other than the great hiit classes and instructors. This place has so much potential when you look at the other Crunch facilities like the ones in Knoxville, Memphis, and Duluth GA.
They lost over 25 people in the morning and counting. Like I said, I do not hate the brand but the specific location has declined to nothing more than your small neighborhood gym in decline.

Crunch recently moved weekday opening from 4AM to 5AM in September which did not fit my schedule so I cancelled my membership online. The Crunch app forces you to enter your credit card information to sign up for an extra month which seems like an egregious way to get one extra month of dues from customers. When I sent an email to management to voice my displeasure on 9/19, there was no response.

This place is a complete scam. They have charged my account 3 times for the same month and will not refund me. I will dispute with my bank as I only authorized ONE charge. I’ve also been trying to transfer my membership to a different location and each time I call none of the workers can do anything about it. I left my name and number for a call back from the General Manager and was told I’d get a call back today and that hasn’t happened. Beware, complete scammers and their customer service sucks!!

Good luck canceling your membership.

Last August I finally finished my home gym and decided to cancel. I tried to do it through the app and realized I had to call. I was then told I had to email so I did but then I was told I had to call. After multiple emails and calls and 8 months of charges to my card I finally canceled my card. For the past 6 months they have been calling me almost daily and just submitted me to collections for over $300. It shouldn't be this hard to cancel a membership..

Love that this location has spray tan. However, only the one I chose was available. Clear and the moisturizers were all empty. Not sure how often they check status on the machine but you'd think it's an every day occurrence.

There shouldn't have been any reason why it took months to try and cancel my membership. I had a membership over a year and without any notification, my membership doubled. I called and asked for the manager and he wasn’t no help at all, I emailed him and no didn’t reply. I went into the store trying to cancel and they told me they couldn’t do it, you have to do it online or call?!? Long story short I wasn’t able to do it online, it wasn’t letting me. Why couldn’t they just helped me after I drove 20 mins to cancel my membership? I eventually had to call the head quarters to get it resolved and it was finally fixed. Never could get answers on why I was charged double though. Wouldn’t recommend it, it’s not worth it anyway.

Buyer Beware: Check Your Agreement and Bank Account – And Don’t Trust Greg

Hey everyone, just a heads-up—make sure you’re keeping a close eye on your Crunch membership agreement and your bank account.

After 4 years of being a member with no issues, I found out Crunch Hendersonville was overcharging processing fees, violating their cancellation policy, and raising rates without proper notification—all of which go against their own membership agreement.

When I brought this up, instead of resolving the issue professionally, they terminated my membership in retaliation. Their excuse? They claimed I was disrespectful on a call, but in reality, their GM Greg told me to “shut up” first, and when I pushed back, he hung up. Chris, the regional VP, should review the security camera from 11/19 at 12:45 PM to watch Greg yell at me for 35 seconds before telling me to "shut up" and then slamming the phone down.

I emailed Greg at 4 PM, pointing out the violations in their agreement and overcharges. By 4:30 PM, I received an email terminating my membership. Looks a lot like retaliation to me.

No one at Crunch has been able to explain why, from at least June to now, our billing amounts have randomly varied between $28.99, $28.49, and $29.99. Their only explanation is that our membership is $26.99 with a $1.50 processing fee (which should be waived per my signed agreement). This explains the $28.49 charge but offers zero explanation for the $28.99 or $29.99 charges. When I pressed for an answer, I was told there was a $1.50 processing fee as well as a magican $2 price increase, which makes even less sense because $26.99 + $2 + $1.50 = $30.49, and $30.49 was never charged.

To make matters worse, my wife and I had the exact same account, yet I was billed $28.99 AND $28.49, and she was billed $29.99. How does that even happen?

I'd love to know why we are billed a week apart despite signing up standing right next to eachother the same exact day and same exact time.

I also pointed out that my wife was charged 32 days after canceling, even though their policy states 30 days. After arguing with me about this for days, they eventually refunded the charge—but only after I fought to prove I was right.

Crunch Hendersonville has denied any wrongdoing despite clear evidence of their mistakes and an email log of circle talk from Greg. Chris refuses to talk via email. I refuse to talk via phone because of he say/she say and liars like Greg.

They refuse to provide transparency or accountability. Be very cautious if you’re a member or considering joining. Their billing practices are shady, and their leadership is unprofessional and retaliatory.

Make sure to double-check your charges—you might find surprises you never agreed to.

They make it so incredibly hard to cancel your membership. I am going back to school and will no longer be around often enough to come to this gym. I went in a little over a month ago and requested to cancel my membership. I was handed a business card with a QR code on it and was told to scan, fill out the form, and send it in. I went home to do that, and later received an email titled “cancellation request.” In this email, it explains the 30 day notice agreement, which I completely understand. At the bottom of the email it said that I would receive an email or call confirming the cancellation request. Over a month went by and I hadn’t heard anything. I was continuously checking, and because it had been over a month, I took that as a sign that the cancellation had gone through after all. However, when I woke up this morning, I was charged even more than my usual month-to-month plan costs. I called the number that was attached to the cancellation request email and talked to someone who was not very helpful. He flat out told me that this was all my fault because I never reached out to them. I’m sorry but I sent in the cancellation request and that cancellation request said I would hear from them. I DID reach out first. He said to me, “YOU never followed up with US so we are not in the wrong. You must pay for a whole additional month if you wish to cancel now.” Pardon me, but I am pretty sure the email said I would hear from YOU. Why are you putting the blame on me? Most gyms are money hungry these days, and Crunch is no exception. I don’t put the blame on the Hendersonville staff, as this seems to be more of a corporate issue.

The worst thing: when they have group classes, it is the LOUDEST thing in the world. I have noise cancel headphones on, can still hear the annoying timer beep every 15 seconds and loud music. I’m on a different floor opposite side of the building, I don’t need to hear that. Avoid coming during the group classes. Management; if you see this, turn the sound down, please. Get rid of the beeper.
The good: staff is nice, equipment is good (while it still works), and it had good amenities like hydro massage and tanning. It’s also quite large, which is better than other Hendersonville gyms.

I joined this gym to start a new journey in my personal fitness goals. My #1 goal was to get a trainer and learn new ways of working out to expand my knowledge and strength. In January, I asked that my personal training end in February. I was ready to take what I learned and start on my own after months of training. In February, they took $320.00 out of my account after I had followed my contract and told them in person to cancel the reoccurring payments. I came in and explained to my trainer what happened. I was assured it would not happen again. Then, in March, another $320.00 was taken out of my account. Again, I came in and explained and was told my money would be refunded within the week. Follow up after follow-up, and still no refunds. April rolls around as my patience wears, and they take another $320.00 out of my account. At this point, I'm furious. I called and spoke with the GM and told her how mad I am. We're at almost $1,000 due back to me with them telling me it will be refunded within the week every time I speak with them. It's May 13th, and they've stopped returning my calls. When I ask for the GM, she's in meetings. This is insane. I had to call the bank and pay a $35 stop payment to ensure this doesn't continue, and I can guarantee that when my monthly fee bounces, they'll be calling to get that $36. What other options do I have? I've never had such an issue with a company as this. I do not recommend joining this gym. They clearly do not care about their customers. To take almost 1k out of my account unauthorized, and they make absolutely no attempt to refund it after months of requests? I guess I'll keep calling and leaving messages? Is there an owner I can talk to? I need someone to reach out to me and resolve this immediately.

I asked did I have training sessions left and was told I had 8, then after talking to the manager, the girl came back and said that I did not have any personal training sessions left and that my membership was canceled and I do not owe anything. come 30 days later I saw my account being charged for the membership fee when I called back up there after I explained to them everything that had happened she just threw the contract in my face saying essentially they can still charge me for my membership 30 days after I canceled my membership. I was still charged the membership fee. The only reason I’m giving it a 2 and not a 1 is because the classes and instructors are amazing. That’s IT. Half the equipment at this gym is dingy or has a “broken” sign on it. Management at this gym is a joke. I’m told something different by every person who works here and one of the head managers here is very condescending and contradicted herself so many times when I was trying to ask questions about my membership. I pay for the highest membership currently and something they don’t tell you is your “unlimited” guest passes aren’t actually unlimited. You can only bring the same friend a few times and then can’t bring them back. The gym is always overcrowded and they just removed child care which so many people in this gym were very upset about because it was an extra charge for them last month and then it was removed a week later. Overall it’s not worth the price. I can’t come workout when I want because there are too many people here majority of the time. I don’t know the one managers name but she does not know how to talk to people and treats me very rudely until she realizes I have the peak membership and then is slightly nicer. I have been at this gym less than 2 months and also they charge you $60 once a year for “general maintenance” on top of what you pay monthly… but the gym has so much broken equipment? Overall I don’t appreciate the dishonesty or just lack of making sure all the employees know the same thing. I never have problems with management or anything until they start being dishonest to make a buck. The big corporations do not care about you at all! If you do decide to go here make sure you read everything. Because they will lie about it and tell you what you want to hear. And keep very close track of the charges on your account. I love Crunch fitness!!! I've had an amazing experience since I started here and I love that even at the busiest hour there's still plenty of equipment and machines. However, because of new management it seems to have gone down a bit. The biggest downfall for me is that it closes way too early on weekends now. 5pm on saturdays and sundays compared to what it used to be I believe was at 11pm or 12 Midnight. I hope this changes soon.

This use to be the best gym in town. Not anymore.

I’be been a member here since it first opened and it was great, but they keep reducing the hours that they’re open, and STILL charge the same amount. It feels like bait and switch!

The most important aspect in a gym is its availability, well now they close at 5pm on weekends. That’s just absurd. With their new hours, I feel like I’m paying for a gym that I don’t even have access to. New management also has done away with the wipes to clean equipment after use; and have now gone to paper towels and a spray bottle. It’s the little things that are ruining this place.

Love the equipment and the staff, all except for the new management... they're making changes to cut costs and in turn is making the gym worse.

Biggest thing is gym hours! Used to be open till midnight on weekdays, now it's till 11 PM. But the biggest thing is on weekends it used to be open until 8 PM, now it closes at 5 PM... coming from a 24 hour gym I was willing to sacrifice for the previous hours but now it's just getting ridiculous. Stop making changes that customers hate just to save a few bucks.

Crunch has great staff and good equipment. Obviously gets crowded at times. Seldom is equipment broken for a long time. Overall I think it’s a great value for the price. It would be 5 stars, but the water fountain has been broken from making cold water for a year even after I told all the staff. So that could be fixed.

The space is crowded, and they make it very difficult to cancel your membership. It's "corporate policy" to only terminate in person knowing full well people who are busy, don't live nearby, or have a job will continue paying for a membership they can't use. Then you'll also be charged a $50 annual fee when you aren't able to come in soon enough. Oh and they need 30 days notice before they will quit drafting from your account.

I have been a member of this location for a year and a Crunch member for 4 years. I don’t get to frequent this location as I live 45 mins away. Came in today to workout with my teenage son as a guest on my pass and was told I don’t have guest privilege. I have brought him a few times with me on the same pass but today I suddenly don’t have that with Peak membership. I asked for a day pass since we drove 45 mins and was told they don’t have day passes anymore. Then told he is too young for a 7 day pass. I immediately cancelled my membership and kindly asked Hailey to let him workout today and was told no. Hailey lacked any sort of compassion and was just “doing her job”. I am baffled to have been treated like this at a Crunch establishment. Hope this gets to the right folks.

My wife and I were visiting from out of town, and stopped in and were able to take a class with Scott. Great instructor and truly cared about making everyone feel welcome and made sure you were enjoying the class while getting a great workout. Had such a great experience here! I got a 7 day pass and the customer service was amazing, the staff is very friendly and was very clear and punctional with the whole process. I started going to Crunch Fitness in Hendersonville about a year ago, and it’s the first gym that’s actually been able to keep me consistent. The trainers really care about your success. I did a trial work out with one of their trainers (Meredith Dungan) in the beginning, and I quickly realized how important personal training is regarding accountability, consistency, and building confidence. Meredith has been a huge help throughout this journey! If you’re torn between gyms in this area, Crunch is definitely the way to go! If you’re already at Crunch and are torn between personal trainers, Meredith is one of the best!

Did a Spin class this morning at 8am.. it was fantastic! I recently moved so this location is new to me. The staff was friendly and helpful and everything was clean. My only ? Was no fan in the cycle studio.. lol
They have the sanitizing wipe dispenser vs paper towels and spray bottles.. that was one small difference from the other location but it made cleaning after faster and easier since you are not waiting on a line to spray your towel down and return to your bike!

Signed up a few weeks ago, a really solid facility with a good variety of equipment.

For the price it's a bargain when looking at the number of classes they offer, I've done several HIIT classes (mostly with Megin she rocks !) and a few spin classes when I couldn't make the HIIT time work (instructors were great with lots of energy there as well).

This gym is top notch. The facilities are equipped with wipes for easy cleaning and well cared for. Whether you’re a cardio junkie, bodybuilder, or CrossFitter - you can get in a solid workout with the variety of equipment and areas available. What has stood out the most is the customer service of Sara, the GM, and her team. The individuals working the front are super respectful/patient. Sara in particular was extremely helpful and kind when I had specific questions. Love that this quality gym is a part of my community!

Two years ago, I attempted to cancel my membership via email, but to my dismay, I recently discovered that I have been charged monthly for the past two years, despite not having set foot in their gym during that time.
Upon contacting them, I was informed that according to the terms outlined in my signed contract, I must cancel my membership either by sending a certified letter or in person.

so, what is the point here ? why do I have to send a paper letter? it's 2023, guys.

Today I signed up for a Peak Results membership at the Hendersonville location. The assistant manager, Hailey signed me up, and not only was she so helpful with all the questions I had (and I had a lot, trust me), but she also gave me additional information and benefits that I could take advantage of, in my membership! Great facility, and she leads an even greater staff! Would highly recommend 10/10!!!

Show up on a Monday at 4:30am to get you workout done. It supposed to open at 4:30. You'll be lucky if they show by 5am. I been sitting in this parking lot since 4:20am. Now I have to leave because no one's here to open and I have no time to finish my training session. Ridiculous waste of my time. Open your gym up on time.
