PLEAS READ VERY HELPFUL PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD

This was my second year going to flip fest I was so excited The cabins are great. The people you meet along the way are great. The lake is so fun. The canteen is fun. Practice is fun. Coaches are great special guests so great. But as for some of the other staff specifically week, eight 2025 it was not great. My counselor specifically was very inappropriate. Asked kids inappropriate questions for example, she asked a child immigrant from Canada what her political views were, she called me, pink shirt didn’t have the decency to learn my name and many other things Happened that made us all uncomfortable and we didn’t appreciate them so when we tried to go to a trusted adult for help, they didn’t care at all. Did not try to help whatsoever and just got mad at us for trying to help ourselves. Specifically, one person who goes by the name of buckets was very rude Does Not care about the campers and will not help or support you when you need it. Even if you try to get your parent involved by the use of the phones, she will be annoyed that your parents reached out and take it out on you. These are just some of the things that happened with the staff of week eight 2025 that made me uncomfortable and I didn’t appreciate. The staff members there did not make it an enjoyable week and I hope to see a change in the camp.

Daughter had an amazing time. However, this camp lacks accreditation, and if there's any sort of emergency you have to leave info with an answering service and wait for a call back.

As an emergency responder and a camp inspector, I can say these are 2 things that need to be taken care of. I can not in good faith send my daughter back here or give a positive recommendation until these issues are resolved.

I have no words for how much this camp helps ones gymnastics be elevated to the next level, and how many connections, and friends you make here, some you will have for life. Truly some of the best experiences if my life took place here. Week 4 is for the boys

My daughter came here (cheerfest) last summer for the first time. I got mixed reviews from her but she does want to come back. She called me from a camp phone a few times during the week. I was surprised. Actually, the first time I was worried, I thought something was wrong. She sounded lonely (my social butterfly who is NEVER lonely). It seems like this camp may be best if you go with a friend like, sounded like most girls had one or more people from their gym there.
Halfway through the week I got a call from my daughter stating that she injured herself. This is my biggest issue with this camp. Not only did I never hear from an adult about my daughter's injury (overextended her knee) when it happened but when I picked her up at the end of the week, no adult said anything either. My daughter usually heals quickly and will go on injured if you don't talk sense into her but she was injured enough Tuesday morning that it was the end of anu tumbling for her. I received no instructions on any care for her. Very bizarre and concerning. Maybe it would have been different if she had broken something??
Her other comments were the salad bar was great (I can't get her to eat much salad at home, lol), rest of the food ok, lake was boring (we have a lakehouse though), camp counselor was nice. She was a little annoyed at having to give up her phone when the older girls in the connecting cabin got to keep theirs. I think the threat of donating the phones is not enforced depending on your counselor? I much prefer no phones during camp. The worst sleepaway camp she did was a volleyball camp where they kept their phones. Ironically, she called me way more during this camp and I could barely get a response to a text from her during that week!
Anyway, my review as a parent. All that being said, she definitely wants to come next year. Her skills did improve up until she got injured.

It’s a must for your gymnast! The beauty of Tennessee surrounds this camp! Time spent in the gym area will benefit your athlete. Activities outside of the gym are socially fun and exciting! Friends are made! Memories are made! FUN!

My girls went to flip fest a few weeks ago and had the best time. I encountered a few issues and the staff was on top of it for me and made everything go perfectly! I wish they had an option to send electronic mail to and from camp like we have been able to use at other camps.

Motivational with a capital M. You can go to strengthen your gymnastics skills, learn new ones or individual growth and confidence. It's all growth, and the experience teaches kids something about them selves. I have only sent our gymnasts once, but we will be going again!

This place is beautiful!! The couple who run it are amazing!! The staff are not only extremely knowledgeable, but helpful.. they really care!! The young lady who runs the canteen RAWKS too!! Love the music!! Burt, Ernie, Goldy(I think was his name) and What! And What! are the sweetest little guys!!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday party! Your hearts for children and their happiness were shown this day! Keep up the amazing work you guys are doing for these young people!!

My daughter just went for the first time this year! She absolutely loved it! She is already asking to go back next year! She learned so many new skills! Her only bad thing to say was that she waited in line for so long for a few things and was almost to the front when they shut that activity down for gym time. She also didn't tie dye or make the bracelet or do the jurassic hike because she was waiting on line for lake activities so she was bummed about that too.

Beautiful camp setting and spacious gym! Much of the equipment was new and the gym stayed cool despite the heat outside. Our cabin was a decent size, complete with it's own bathroom, desk, and mini-fridge. Plus, they have some zoo/farm animals (for petting), a beach, cafeteria, and multipurpose hall. I didn't get to see other things/activities that I heard they had, though (ropes course, waterfall, etc). Would love to go back!

My daughters favorite summer training spot. They adapted to Covid regulations seamlessly and made the process so easy for parents. I absolutely love bringing my gymnast here and she saves her own money to return every summer. Phenomenal staff and volunteers.

This was the 2nd year my daughter attended and each year she likes it more and more. Doesn't hurt when her team won best decorated cabin and got to have lunch with Katelyn Ohasi. Camp is super organized from check in to check out. Very smooth process. During checkin you have to carry all your child's stuff to their cabin. It's camp, they need Leos, bathing suit, towels, a couple of tshirts and toiletries. Don't bring everything and the kitchen sink. Remember bug spray and sunscreen. John, John and Randy keep the kids busy and your child is sure to have a great time.
