Great gym only problem i have that every and I mean every Sunday I come here at 650 am and they are never open at 7am like they are supposed to be. Like for instance, right now on 11/16/25 im sitting here waiting for someone to show up and it's 715 am. I have a very busy schedule and if this keeps up I'll have to go somewhere else. It's a shame because this gym is the most clean and well operated gym I have ever been to. Smh

Worse experience I’ve had with a gym. I signed up for the personal training and they would never be able to find a trainer for because they either quit or got fired. So all my sessions were lost and their answer was “well I can’t do anything if they leave”. So I my first session was with Jimmy and he is amazing but he only did the introduction. The first trainer quit before our first session, then we waited and the next trainer was fired, now the current trainer gets mad at you for trying to book a session. So we have no one to train with and lost over 40 session and 2800 dollars. They would not let me cancel the contract even with medical issues. They also not show you the contract until after you sign it. “You’ll get the contract in a few days on your email” but want you to sign it now. I wish I could get my money back because this was a horrible experience when trying to improve physically. The trainer will yell at you “why do you wanna book an appointment?” And get mad. You HAVE to work with their schedule cuz they can only train you at a specific time so forget about flexibility. Only nice people are Jimmy and some of the desk staff but forget about the trainers, they will even ignore if you have any injuries or surgeries.

About 5 or 6 year ago, I went to this gym ONCE. I “canceled” this membership because it just wasn’t my scene. Fast forward to last week, a collections account goes on my credit, for literally $102. The management is very misleading about their cancellation, and definitely do not have your best interest in mind. I hope some of you may avoid this same headache.

I moved in 2022 and "cancelled" my membership, or atleast that is what the airhead at the desk said. 2.5 years later I get emails stating my account is going into collections if I don't pay the balance. I've called over 30 times and not once have they answered. I know of 9 other people who have a similar experience.

Man since the remodel this place is completely different. The equipment layout is organized, the showers are cleaner, the style is cool with the brick and pictures of some of the old body building legends that trained at the original Golds in Venice Beach (I’m sure not a lot of people care about that but I’m a body building fan), they have a turf area with a sled that is coming, THEY BROUGHT BACK CHILDCARE, they are adding a posing room (again not too many people care about that but I thought that was just a cool touch to reinforce the atmosphere of the essence of Gold’s Gym).

I’m sure they’re not 100% done with all the finishing touches, like there’s a merch rack that is not stocked very much, there’s still some open spaces to add more types of equipment and the urinals and toilets are still outdated and the same (since people aren’t great at washing hands I would like to see touchless flushing on the urinals).

All in all, GREAT job Gold’s Gym. Now please don’t let this go to junk in the coming years as it did before. Please. Gold’s Gym is my home so please treat it right. To me it’s not just a gym. It’s tradition. It’s iconic. Let’s continue to slowly grow and progress and improve a never ending journey, just like those guys in the pictures hanging on the wall believed.

Golds Gym Hendersonville has been refurbished and it is very well done. There is a great variety of strength training machines as well as free weights. It would be very easy to establish a circuit for every muscle set on the various machines. There are plenty of machines for aerobic workouts too: a really well equipped gym. Staff is friendly and eager to help and I found the atmosphere to be very inviting!

Joined the gym online 3 months ago (August), only to learn after the fact that they were closing for renovations the 1st 3 weeks of October.

No concessions for their members in terms of agreements with other local gyms - just closed. (You can travel to another Middle Tennessee Golds Gym - as if that is convenient or a real option) They however do continue to charge their members dues for a gym that their members cannot access.

Apparently, they announced on Facebook that the opening was delayed due to construction delays. You have to search for the announcement on Facebook - no direct communication to their members.

I would not recommend joining this gym to anyone. I don’t care how nice the renovation turns out - go to the UFC gym up the street.

First, I have been a member for 3 years at this location.

I recently established a training program in which I was charged $280 up front. I would then be charged $110 each month thereafter.
I explained to the gym manager Brandon many times the issues I was having with the trainer not keeping appointments not giving me the plan that I was promised so that I could work out on my own. It took me 3 weeks to get the plan and I only had one training session and then I was told she was unavailable for the next week and a half.
I asked about how to cancel and I was told I could only send an email which I sent three emails. I asked for my money back and to cancel any further transactions 3 times to the email address provided. Considering I received one training session I don't think this is too much to ask for. When I reached out to the training manager directly he was extremely rude to me and lied that I received a plan when I did not. He was rude to me in the beginning about my health issues and when I asked him to stop texting me he continued to text me and harass me I have all of these emails and texts. I had to threaten him with a restraining order for it to stop. I have contacted anyone I can and no one seems to care about any of this.

Last Friday I was harassed upon entering the gym because my account was not paid for as I reported it to my bank as fraud as they continue to try to take money out of my account after canceling.
I emailed Brandon the manager who emailed me and said it would never happen again. Of course it happened again monday. I was upset and my tone was crappy with the person and I offered to show the email from the manager and they refused. Upon completing my workout the manager yelled at me and told me I should never yell at his staff which I never did and I informed him there are video cameras that he should pull and he literally yelled at me and it was embarrassing.

The training cancellation department is refusing to cancel they want to charge me more money. Blamed me for this issue happening to me again after he said it wouldn't because he wasn't there which is just excuses and it's not my fault this is happening to me. I will never set foot in that gym again and at this point no one cares what has happened to me neither their training managers or the management of the facility itself. I have all of these emails and texts and no one wants to see them nor will anyone actually cancel my training membership or my gym membership. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau at this point.
It is so hot in that gym that you cannot do cardio and the gym is not well maintained on top of that and I have complained about this for the past 6 months.

I was a member of this gym for over two years. It has the best atmosphere and community I have ever found at a gym, along with quality equipment.

HOWEVER, months ago new management and staff took over, overall crushing the vibe of the gym. The new staff had a “there’s a new sheriff in town” mentality that often caused them to come off as very rude. They often cleaned the gym at inconvenient times, and would even mop you into a corner if you were stretching on the floor, this happened to me several times.

The new manager was a short pudgy guy, seemingly eager to let people know he’s in charge. He lacked any degree of social intelligence and couldn’t read anyone’s tone or body language. This man was rude to me on multiple occasions, but especially when I moved away to another state. He claimed I needed a “proper reason” to be able to end my membership. Moving ten hours away seemed good to me.

This manager and the new staff have really left a stain on this gym and I will not be suggesting it to my friends unless he is no longer there.

Helpful, friendly staff. Plenty of machines, dumbbells, benches, squat racks, and workout areas. Management wants to know what needs to be repaired or changed and they get it done. The gym gets improved and cleaner each week. They currently have large equipment in the middle of the gym, but they have a sign stating it’s temporary. They have a sign at the entrance letting the members know about renovations and goals. I appreciate that communication. The members are kind. Lots of people working hard and doing their thing. It’s a great place to workout in my opinion.

They removed group classes because of lack of interest 2 years ago, installed new weightlifting equipment, and now they’ve tossed all the equipment in the middle of the gym in a messy pile to bring back the classes. It’s got a good assortment of equipment, some of it is in better shape than others (cable accessories are a little rough). If I think it’s busy now, I’m scared to see what January brings. Make sure to bring a lock for your locker, someone dug through my stuff my second week going and threw my keys/wallet under the sink, so forget about the honor system (and I was not the only person this happened to). Not a lot of spare floor space for warming up/ab stuff (neither of which I do) because there’s a huge assortment of equipment. Love the fish tank up front, the phone scan for getting in, and the stocked refrigerators up front. Haven’t bought anything yet, but when I do, they have my favorite Lean Body protein. Overall, it’s a good gym.

What does it take to update / fix the men’s locker room? Paper towel dispensers not working, urinals blocked up / closed off and it stinks! It seems to go on with no resolution. A constant problem.
The digital clock is useless. Too small and in an odd location. How about a bigger digital clock in the workout area where people can actually see it.
The actual weights and machines are excellent. They’re all anyone could need or want.

Golds Gym has been charging me DOUBLE, after being duped into creating a second account when I asked them to "Move my home gym". It took a lot of work to solve this problem, and even just to find the right person. The employees here know nothing about how to get things handled.

I found out and I had to call to FIVE people about the issue and was finally given a non-working customer service number that was total trash. When I finally got in contact with R.a.y. , the regional leader, he really showed me how this Gym franchise doesn't care about you. R.a.y. is neither professional nor helpful after dealing with his bad attitude. He did not try to help understand the issue, nor did he provide a logical case or helpful info. His Gym franchise has billed me DOUBLE monthly for the past two years straight, unbeknownst to me and he did nothing to remedy the problem, or provide a refund. Thank you, for being a bad example of what gym management should be. Get Better.

I love their free motion equipment and others. It was not crowded, and the staff was very responsive. My only observation is the bathroom needs TLC, and I would recommend adding a sauna.

Golds really has stepped up their cleaning and maintenance of the gym! I feel much safer and better working out in there now with the new management. Would still love to see some improvement to the two open area rooms, but overall my husband and I both agree this is the best we’ve seen the gym in years.

It’s a gym, hours should be 24/7. Nice Olympic lifting equipment but the hours??? I came from west TN and the Gold’s over there is open 24/7 because it’s a gym not a store. Closing at 10pm weekdays and 8-9pm on the weekend??? The weekend when people are off work?? Doesn’t make sense. Workers will kick you out on the minute then stay after hours to workout with the entire gym to themselves. Will be switching gyms due to lack of hours with the double standardsid client safety is a thing and reason for hours and workers are there by themselves doesn’t equal out plus dirty bathrooms with pee in the floor always.

Great Gym overall, they are not lacking in equipment! Lots of options for deadlifts/squats. Two dumbbell areas, They have three flat benches, two incline benches so you rarely have to wait for one. Everybody here seems pretty friendly. I have noticed they have started cleaning the gym more often which was my only concern. They seem to address maintenance issues/broken machines very quickly. Front desk staff is friendly and quick to help you with anything you need.
