Be VERY CAREFUL about trainer contracts with Golds Walker Springs. We asked for and paid $929.00 for 16 trainer visits. They say we signed, without being given a chance to read it, a one year contract. They now want $1,390.40 to get out of a contract.

Gym is really good for a cheap gym. A couple machines are down from time to time though. Sauna and steam room are nice and clean.

Ok gym. Lots of variety in machines but they are often down for repairs for extended periods of time. Pool heater is never on. No more steam room :( Looks like people take bites out of the weights the way the rubber chips off. Also, whoever chooses the music for this location should not be allowed to do that anymore.

I really like the vibe from the other regulars. As a woman, virtually all the men are extremely respectful. Everyone is clearly on their own fitness journey and no one is creepy toward women. If you're trying to get absolutely yoked, judgement-free, this is the place to be. And it's next to the smoothie king??? Perfect. Exactly one time, an old man was creepily staring at me while I was doing adductors, and the staff immediately resolved the issue for me, so I could continue my leg day. I do wish broken machines were repaired faster, and I wish they were open later on weekends, but that's somewhat outside of their control.

I was told before shipping off for the military my account would be paused. It was in fact not paused and I was continued to be charged monthly when I clearly could not use my membership. Good luck ever getting ahold of anyone that will help you at this gym. They just tell you to “email corporate”

Most machines are in good working order although there are several that have been out of service for several weeks now. Place is clean and hours are great. Today all four soap dispensers in the men's restroom were empty, although all the sinks were very clean.

The last couple of months (November - December 2023), repairs have been made to several machines, facilities are in order and clean and staff presence for the facility to be open in the early morning, 4:30 a.m., has been far more consistent and reliable.

March 2024 - things have been pretty good lately although there are a couple machines that are down. From Monday through Friday the staff being there in the early morning hours have been very reliable. Saturday still still seem to be a Hit or Miss thing. The facility is always clean, including the bathrooms and all the machines.

May 2024 - the new night early morning people are very reliable and are there every day. Machines are for the most part in good shape although the elliptical machine that I normally use has been out of service for about 2 months now. Bathrooms are clean and equipment is otherwise in good shape, with a wide variety of machines and plenty of room for everyonejl.

July 2024 - still good. Only items to note is that several machines are still down several months later. TV stations are almost all on the Golds Gym channel. Someone needs to set them to various stations. If there were an employee to ask when I come in I would do so. Other than that, great place, location and variety of things to use

September 2024 -- still a good rating overall. However several machines now have been down for over 6 months. No change to the TV stations. I asked the guy at the front desk and he said he had no idea how to change the TV stations. So there are like 8 or 10 TVs and six six of them are on the golds Gym channel and the others are on some secondary ESPN channel. Otherwise the place is clean, and the paper towel dispensers and cleaner bottles are usually well stocked. Staff over the past four or five months have been consistently there at the times early in the day when they are supposed to be open.

October 2024 - several broken machines were pulled and a number of new treadmills have been brought in, but no new ellipticals to replace the ones that were removed. No progress on the TVs. They're still almost all on the same 2 channels, one of which is the Gold's Gym commercials channel. When I have asked at the front desk, the employees there at the time say they have no idea how to change the channels. Surely someone knows how to do that.

November 2024 -- Very consistent with staff being there in early morning (4:30a) for several months now. Every employee asked says they don't know how to change the channels on the TVs. They have left notes but no change.

Me and my girlfriend have tried to sign up for a vip membership here 3 times and they've screwed up the paperwork all three times. They canceled our membership after the third time without letting me know know since my gf missed their call. At a different location, a worker got frustrated with me when I tried to enter after they canceled the membership (without letting me know) after THEY screwed it up multiple times. We've also just paid for this entire month of membership and have been screwed over. I like the gold's franchise but do not go to walker springs to sign up. Their staff are not well trained and have no idea what they are doing.

Have had hair balls in the shower during the last 2-3 times I was there. Soap dispensers have been torn off the walls of the shower stalls and have been replaced and vandalized again. Seems like there has been a rougher clientele for the last couple of years since they lowered the monthly fee. I don’t remember things like this happening in the earlier times of my membership. I have been a member there for about12 years. I still like the club for what I do and the people working there are very nice. But plan on checking out another club at some time.

Absolutely filthy. Locker rooms and weight area are disgusting and I have never once seen employees cleaning. Treadmills always have trash in cupholders. I will say the girls at the front desk are friendly but the young men leave much to be desired. A deep clean is majorly needed, dust and dander cover the floor. One thing Gold’s could learn from Planet Fitness is how to uphold a cleaning standard.

ETA: I wasn’t aware Hotworx bought out this Gold’s location! 90 degrees inside in the middle of summer is so terrible to work out in.

It's the cheapest gym in town for a reason. 6/9/24 at noon and it's 78 degrees in here - which is routine for the entire summer. The owner doesn't see the need to update AC - per front desk workers. The water fountain had maggots all last week because it was clogged. The weights are thrown everywhere. You can only cancel memberships in person M-F. Machines are frequently broken, and there aren't enough pegs to adjust weights?... Pool is closed occasionally for maintenance, but it is random. The only upside is that the front desk workers are nice.

I went to the gold's Gym in Farragut and it is very different much cleaner. I went in the middle of the day and there was a lady there cleaning even wiping the dirt off the pedals of the ellipticals etc,. The last time I went to walker springs there was a young kid dusting the machines, the seat and handles, I wanted to tell him that's not the part that gets dusty because people are always sitting there someone needs to teach him and any other people who are supposedly cleaning there. Okay ?

The people who work the front always seem to have a personal problem. They won’t sell me any products from behind the counter when I ask politely but have no problem selling to my fiancé every time he ask's. I also inquired on their classes and they completely ignored me and point to the papers on the desk, and go back to sitting on their phones.
