The childcare at this location is the best! Jackie and Sherry and the other ladies truly care about the kids and take care of them. The gym itself is fine- it’s your typical gym. But the reason we’ve kept our membership for so many years is the childcare, hands down.

After seeing all the videos surface online of you all kicking a biological woman out of your gym all because she was uncomfortable due to a man being Ina bathroom has told me all I need to know about this place. Separate bathrooms for people who identify as a different gender should be put in place if they can't follow the basic laws of public and walk into there actual bathroom. I don't even understand how it comes off as okay to kick a woman out cause of a man going into there locker room or bathroom disgusting. And shame on the staff and owners for not doing anything.

Used to come to this gym 5 days a week for years. Got a different job and no longer frequent this area. I canceled my membership and found out later that I was still being charged. Reached out to "customer service" and was met with hostility from Ray Trott the Billing Director. He was completely unwilling to help and just dismissed me like it meant nothing to him.

If you need any help from their "corporate team" dont expect to be welcomed with friendly service. The other problem is there is no way to get in touch with anyone above a gym besides an email which mostly goes unanswered. I know this from experience.

Its a shame because I really liked going to this gym. I just dont go anymore because i dont live near one now. Even if I did, id go elsewhere.

Thanks for nothing Ray Trott. If you feel like actually helping me out, you know how to get in touch with me.

I’m a fan of golds gym. I love how bright and open it is. They have plenty of equipment. Lots of space but let me tell you. What’s frustrating about having a membership. There is that tanning is included. Childcare is included or advertise to be included yet they’re frequently don’t have staffing in childcare and one if not, both of their tanning beds are always broken. They had a broken water fountain for about eight months as well if you’re going to advertise being a full service gym and having things like tanning childcare classes, then make sure those things are available to your clients.

The amount of machines that are broken is crazy. I'd not mention it if some of the items were only down for a couple weeks but there are multiple sets of equipment that have been down for well over a year. At this point remove it from the floor. In addition more than half of the lockers are un-useable due to being broken. You'll have to go through atleast 5 to 6 lockers before you find a good one. Their water fountain has needed to be changed for months (filter showing red) I honestly can't remember if it was ever green?? Now it's just broken and has been like that for atleast 2 weeks... please do better.

This was my 1st gym I joined after moving here, and everything was great even had two of my friends come join, it was nice the machines were great and tall enough , the rotation between gym mates wasn’t bad at all. Different machines did need extra attention from time to time & that’s where the huge remodeling came in and they were going to shut down for a few months ok cool but prices were almost tripling when I started it was $12 a month but with this huge new revamp they needed more $$ of course so they decided to act like my payments weren’t made, I had a savings account just for gym drafts money sat there for months I called and asked the front desk and they said everything was ok, I was still coming in working out…. Then I get a call from Ray the financial manager ( who needs more people skill and a few customers service courses) saying that my gym account was closed and it was nothings he could do about but get this… I could sign back up with the new rates ….So I found a new gym and lo and behold about 5 or more old gold members had the same exact story… coincidence nope very doubtful. But now they want to send out I miss you text come back and join… ha! just like a toxic relationship & clearly I was played with & neither I or my bank account was the problem. You’ve messed over your faithful members I thought about coming back just for the smith machine but reading these new comments seems like all the revamping was a flop. Treat your members better and just be honest this time around.

I've been a member of the South location for awhile now.

I enjoy the spacious environment and the machines and all that, however there are some other quality issues that should be remedied. The locker rooms are way past due on a remodel. Most of the (men's) lockers have bent or broken locks. There is a constant sewer smell in there. The hand dryer machines need to be replaced. Also some of the yoga mats and paper towel dispensers in the gym itself need to be replaced.

I've had only good encounters with the staff and with other members, so that's good to note! I hope others are speaking up about the locker rooms though. Smyrna and North locations are great, South needs improvement.

I’ve been a member for 7 years. This place is great and recently made equipment upgrades. The exception is the tanning beds. The bulbs seem to NEVER be replaced. We pay for this in our membership dues (which also increased), why are these never maintained? Presently one bed is broken. Murfreesboro north location tanning beds work great. It would be nice if all the bulbs in both beds were replaced asap.

The people at the gym seemed nice and the front floor is clean, but the gym is really running down and dirty. The womens bathroom was gross. No tp, but a lot on the floor. Counter and mirrors are dirty. The bike room looks like someone beat the walls, qnd there is a lot of out of service equipment and the bikes felt flimsy. It would be an awesome place if they just cleaned it and repainted a bit. Plus there was shopping carts with homeless peoples stuff sitting outside... made it a little sketchy for walking out at night.

*Good array of free weights and machines, unfortunately there are at least 3 machines that have been broken down for the past 2-3 weeks, with a “Parts have been ordered” notice. How long does it take? Also, the Jacob’s Ladder belt has been broken for over a month. I turned that broken belt in to the front desk. What’s the status? I bet I can find the manufacturer and get it before your people. Get it fixed! I like to use it! Finally, some pegs are kissing from the machines, so you have to find one in another machine to use. Get some more pegs.

I love how Gold’s gym opens 24/day for 5 days/week. It gives me flexibility to work my schedule out in the beginning. Weekend, the gym also opens, if you want to go with friends. My weekend usually is very busy, so I exercise at home like normal.

The gym is spacious with a lot of equipment. There are locker rooms and baths for people working out before work. The motivation when I’m there is high. Love the energy!

While the amenities are nice, the customer service is poor at the higher levels. Sierra, a front desk associate told me incorrect pricing when upgrading my account. When I realized her mistake I asked for my account to be downgraded to what I had before. I was told by a manager they would do that for me and fix my account. Then, my account still wasn't right and Ray (the billing manager) said there was nothing they could do to fix the situation. Even though Ray could honor my old pricing before Sierra messed everything up, she refused. Apparently their word means nothing to them. Be very careful.

Most machines show serious signs of wear, with many being difficult/impossible to use due to missing weight labels and broken/missing weight selection pins. The treadmills seem like they have not been replaced in 10+ years, which would be fine if they didn't have 10 years worth of grime built up due to a lack of cleaning. No one enforces the "clean your machine" rule, and I often find dispensers out of paper towels. So for the few people that bother to clean after themselves, they are burdened by having to run around to find paper towels. The lockers in the men's locker room are a joke. At least half of the locker locks are broken, and most of the ones that are capable of locking require a lot of force to make them work.

They have hundreds of members who pay a minimum of $25 a month on contract, which is a very steady, predictable stream of income. Why not use some of that money to make the gym look like it's worth the money we pay? There is no excuse for the state of this gym.

Nothing going on in the 1st room (except the treadmills being always full) and all the action in the 2nd room with only a handful of benches. No room to do anything, constantly packed. Are there worse gyms around? I’m not sure, but it would be worth your time to find out. If I could rate this gym lower I would.

I can’t say this gym is never cleaned (because some of the patrons wipe down the machines after they use them), but I am really not sure if the staff cleans on a regular basis because it always is so dirty.

The equipment is not maintained and many things end up being down for service for weeks. The equipment that does work has loose pulleys, ripped upholstery, or seats that may fall off. Good luck finding attachments for cable equipment - though when you do they’re often broken. Many patrons have resorted to buying and bringing their own.

This place also frequently opens late. It seems they can’t staff to the correct levels and many of the staff have said they don’t get paid very well. There are frequently new faces who say they didn’t get much training or were not given keys to open (even though they are scheduled to open).

The local management/owners don’t seem to care about much other than signing new members and the equipment they personally use.

The only point that draws people to this gym is their hours (if they open on time) and their central location. There are other gyms within a couple miles/a few minutes that offer a better experience at similar pricing and hours of operation. I would highly recommend checking out one of those options first and avoiding this place at all costs.

Folks, I have been going to this gym for 10 years, still not sure why I stay but its easy for me in the am. This is the most mismanaged business I have ever seen. Nobody knows what the hell is going on; cant open on time, machines broke, bathrooms are terrible and stay broken, and garbage stays full. On top of that the communication is zero. They are closing on the 14th for 2 weeks, and still have not posted any signs, they assume everyone has facebook. The owners dont even want to admit they own the place (John - one of three). they are investing in a new renovation, but still cant fix the bathrooms. Maybe this two week closure will be motivation for a lot of us to go to crunch or another gym.

5 stars because of two instructors…Lynn and Diondra. Lynn is literally the most amazing yoga instructor I have ever practiced under. Her class will not only work your body but your mind as well.
