Great Facility — Terrible, Vindictive Ownership

The Goodlettsville HOTWORX studio itself is clean, well maintained, and the saunas are always in great working order. Unfortunately, the ownership and management are the complete opposite of what this brand stands for — overly sensitive, vindictive, and unprofessional.

After I asked a few questions about my cancellation date and billing, they revoked my access immediately, despite my final payment covering the entire month of December. For full transparency, and since Candace will most certainly respond and I won't have the ability of a follow-up, here is exactly what I wrote throughout the exchange. I'll let you decide if it was worthy of revoking my access to the studio. And for the record, I've tried to call the facility and her cell phone but she won't take my calls and she has not responded to a single email since she revoked my access...

Nov 1, 11:44 AM:
“Hi, Candace. I need to cancel my Hotworx membership. Do I just need to send you this email to make it official?”

Candace replied with the standard 30-day policy and said I’d be billed through December.

Nov 1, 12:15 PM:
“If I'm canceling today, why would my 30-day notice include the entire month of December?”

She explained that November only had 30 days in it.

Nov 1, 12:50 PM:
"So, you're charging me a whole extra month over one day? That seems a bit ridiculous that you can't look past a one day difference."

Nov 1, 12:52 PM:
“If you count today as one of the 30 days then it would end on Nov 30.”

She said she understood where I was coming from but needed to be fair to all members and offered to downgrade me to Sweat Basic. She didn't answer why Nov 1 didn't count toward the 30 days.

Nov 1, 12:59 PM:
“Please downgrade me then. Why doesn’t Nov 1 count toward the 30 days?”

She then let me know that Nov 1 would have been included in the 30 days if the request had processed before midnight on Oct 31.

I then sent the cancellation statement to her.

She responded that the correct amount in the statement was $59, so I sent the corrected version (I had a typo in the first one). Then I received confirmation that my cancellation was processed but they were also revoking my access immediately, accusing me of “negative or disruptive behavior” without ever specifying what that meant.

I have been nothing but respectful to Candace, her husband and the members. I have even had conversations about franchising opportunities and they seemed like good people. Little did I know the pettiness lying underneath that facade. Before this experience I was referring Hotworx to all my friends but not anymore thanks to Candace. I hope weaponizing your membership agreement was worth this bad review.

UPDATE: I have asked what the alleged “repeated policy violations” were and have not received a response. As mentioned earlier in my review, I sent two emails and called twice only because I never got a reply. When I called the studio line, the voicemail provided a cell phone number, so I called that immediately after. They didn’t answer, and I didn’t even leave a message—yet the owners contacted the police asking that I not reach out again.

In my experience, the owners reacted very strongly to my attempts to get clarification about my membership, including involving the police instead of responding directly. It felt like a drastic reaction, so I’d advise other members to be aware of that possibility before signing up.

So I owned a HOT yoga studio for years and you have to have a safe amount of heat with the love and compassion of the owner and its people. I can tell you Candace loves what she does and loves helping you meet your goals. This facility is always clean! (Which is hard when you got all those sweaty people ) Everyone is always nice and you feel good about being here and working out. When I closed my hot studio I was looking for a “hot” community and trust me , Goodlettsville Hotworx is it! Join now and meet me on the mat:) Misty

This is my absolute Favorite place to work out! The owners are incredibly friendly, genuine, and welcoming. You can truly feel that they have a heart of gold and display this in everything they do for the studio. The energy here is positive, motivating, and feels like family.

I was super excited to start off my journey here and get in the groove but there was just a lot of untold details that I feel are very important before paying for a membership 1. That your guest is only allowed once a month and 3 times a year meaning it’s not truly a guest pass 2. That you have to book your guest 24 hours in advances to be able to have your guest there pass 6:00 pm 3. Your guest has to be booked through them you aren’t able to book them freely and 4. The women was super disrespectful over the phone about questions I had and freaked out and hung up on me. I just feel like this is a big turn off If this is somewhere your interested in!

Since your response was a lie I would like to come on here and make it very clear that you were the one repeating yourself and I had people in the room with you on speaker listening to the way you talk to people at your studio. This was a complete fabricated story and seems to be typed by Chat GPT. First off I was very kind excited about signing up I didn’t question much at first cause I didn’t quite understand what I was agreeing too. The policy were not gone of 3x just 1 I was even asked you already were told the policy so I don’t have to go other then right and I made them re tell me to make sure I got the full answer. Over the phone she also stated that they don’t tell all of the guest policies because it’s too much to take in at once which is CRAZY because you have to tell the full policy before signing up to not have issues like this. Little my character as if that would hurt my feelings but truly you just look embarrassing trying to defend yourself. I really hope people take the time to read this and understand that this isn’t the place to go if you want to work at hot workx everywhere else I’ve been is WAYY more respectful. And the person I’m talking about is the lady with the red hair so make sure to avoid her. And she only refunded because I told her she had to because they didn’t tell the true policy :)

Best gym hands down! The staff is amazing and friendly. The gym is always clean and stays well stocked with all your gym needs (equipment, supplements, cute clothes). The sauna is great for exercising in and helps your joints and muscles heal faster compared to normal workouts! The times work great with my busy schedule.

HOTWORX Goodlettsville - A Must-Try Fitness Experience!

This review is long overdue! I’ve been a member of HOTWORX Goodlettsville since they opened over a year ago, and I absolutely love it. They offer a variety of options for everyone. From a free weight station in the FX Zone to eight sauna boxes offering everything from yoga and Pilates to cycle and blast workouts, the choices are limitless. If you’re more into doing your own thing, the FX Zone is perfect for that as well.

One of the standout features is their app, which makes it incredibly easy to sign up for classes and access the facility. Since it’s open 24 hours, you can go whenever it suits your schedule, whether you prefer less busy times or need to squeeze in a late-night or early-morning workout.

Parking is plentiful, which is always a bonus, and this is one of the cleanest fitness locations I’ve been to. They take great care in ensuring everything is sanitized and clean, which is especially important these days.

For those who might forget their workout essentials, their vending machine has you covered with items like towels and other equipment for a small fee, plus some great snack options. There are also two bathrooms, one equipped with a full shower, so you can freshen up after your workout or before heading to work.

My favorite part? The monthly competitions where you can win prizes! The infrared sauna technology allows you to get more out of your workout in less time. With cycle and row stations offering 15-minute increments, you can get a highly effective workout in just 15 minutes.

Amazing gym. HIIT and ISO sauna workouts and Fx zone with weights. 24hr access for members. Amazing owner/management. Very clean and well kept. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. I just finished my 5th visit in 2 weeks and am really enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, the workouts are tough--but you can go at your own pace for the most part. There are 9 saunas. You sign up on the app beforehand. I love the flexibility and the ease to just pop in and out. If you're really in a time crunch they even have 15 minute sessions. Every employee I've met has been great! There is also a small weights area if you'd like to add to your workout. I also think the price is fantastic for all that is included.
