I signed up at the gym thinking it would be a great fit with me and my girlfriend coming as a guest. I also sat down with a trainer for her convinced that we could come and go anytime they were open so we set her up. So long story short is at the time of them scrolling the computer sign here here and here telling me you can cancel anytime. Here goes the problem was told she could come anytime even if I wasn’t there because we bought a training!! Wrong got turned around twice and I went with her the second time to know why cause it wasn’t the deal I signed up for! Guy Mgr says you have to be with her and said not what I was told by Izari training lady so he calls her over and says ok next time just let me know and she can come in ok cool. This past Saturday I go to the gym at 5:20pm and door is locked and I’m like what in the world so a customer lets me in and I’m stopped at the counter and he proceeds to tell me I can’t work out and I’m like why? He said do to it getting dark earlier we close at 6:00pm ok so now I’m pissed so I leave I go down the street to another gym and they said come on in we close at 6:00 check it out so I did and mad that they let me and my gym wouldn’t. I go in Monday still mad and cancel my membership no problem but my trainings I couldn’t remember I can cancel at anytime I asked multiple times and yup no problem. They tell me it’s going to cost $700 to cancel the trainings after telling me can cancel anytime no fees no problem. So now I’m really mad that I’m lied to. If I would have known I would have never signed up for anything at all. I hate a liar and I hate a thief and that’s what they are crooks stealing and lying to customers. I called a few weeks ago and spoke to someone who said to come in and talk to a manager to sign up. Went in and told them about the phone call.
Noah, the manager was one of the rudest people I’ve come in contact with. I was waiting there patiently while he was with someone so someone else had to help me and the staff got mad AT ME FOR WAITING? How does that even make sense. Will not be joining because of this.

Addition to this- I was then overcharged by an additional month after making contact with the physical location to cancel. Per the Lakeland manager “They can’t do anything from the location, you need to call corporate.”

Their “contract” is not transparent and they are there to get a quick dollar. Good luck.

About seven months ago, I left a comment saying, “No backpacks on the ball court—that’s a first for me. Nice court, clean gym.”

Now, there’s no ball court at all.

I can’t say I’m surprised. Honestly, it was only a matter of time before LA Fitness had enough. This is Memphis. Young folks who can’t act right brought violence into the game and ruined it for everyone else. I made a few calls to check out other LA Fitness locations—every single court has now been turned into a CrossFit room. It’s sad. We’re losing our youth—no morals, no respect, no principles. The worst part is that we keep disregarding the savage behavior. As a society, we have to do better

Staff is great!
Most everything is clean.
Men’s shower curtains need be cleaned often.

Sauna is great after a pump or a swim session. If equipment needs repair it gets fixed quickly if brought to attention.

Hot tub is great after leg day. Showers have great pressure music is always a vibe and the vending machine is always stocked so I love that.
Every gym is going to have its offs but this gym has way more ons than offs!
Overall 10/10

They also have a filtered water bottle refill station which is very cool and an amenity worth it in itself!

Men of all ages and starting and ending goals go to this gym definitely consistent and dedicated fitness men go here.

The hours change daily. It’s just basically whenever they feel like showing up. Everything is sticky and the bathrooms are disgusting. It’s crazy because I’m paying three times what ATC fitness around the corner charges because I wanted the sauna. The thing is the sauna is disgusting too. The operation manager letting a company build a case inside of the gym against a member...
He also let them installed a camera inside of the gym .. the gym is poorly run women going into the sauna nude and men are going inside of the women locker room. Male employees going inside the women locker room while the women members in the shower....
Something happened on 5/25/2025 I will not discuss it here because a lawsuit will move forward. Great job but wrong leadership in place

Overall good gym, good environment. It’s clean, I do have one problem I’ve been meaning to mention. They have men workers that work in the ladies locker room they go in there and clean while the gym is still open. In my opinion it would be more appropriate to have men working in there cleaning when the gym closes. A girl could be changing in there. I think either wait till the gym closes to have men cleaning in there or have a woman work that job at least for the ladies room.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I already dislike the fact that this company has changed their opening and closings time 3 times in the last year. The staff could also do better with service. The last straw was today. I went to the gym at 8:30 they were closed. It says they are supposed to be open at 8. They didn't even post or leave a note on the door explaining why they were not open. I even waited until 9, and they still were closed. I will be canceling my membership. This is unacceptable.

The place is good I go for swimming so this is not a gym equipment review it's more about the pool and sauna. The sauna on Ridgway is closed for repair and it's been a few weeks. The pool is pretty nice and clean and the heater works well to keep the water temp around 83 degrees.

Nice gym, professional staff, gym-goers are serious about workouts, fairly quiet atmosphere (people are not loud; there is light music playing).

I've made an acquaintance here in class, which was nice. The trainer and two workout leaders I'd chatted with in Feb. 2020 (Zoomba; swim exercise) were very welcoming and friendly.

I wish they'd done something like outdoor spinning or outdoor Zoomba in the Spring/Summer/Fall per pandemic reasons. Now (Dec.), it's too cold for that. Maybe this spring, L.A. Fitness?

I also wish they had a little break area, like with 1-2 tables and chairs - and Wi-fi -- what if I wanted to work on my laptop for a few mins before or after my workout? Just wishing. :) Their atmosphere is much quieter than the chain coffee shop.

Overall, this is a good gym!

By far one of the nastiest Esporta I've been to when it comes to the cleanliness of the restrooms/showers. I spoke with the manager letting him know that it's very uncalled for the showers to be as nasty the way they were. He said they were short staffed and some or crap like that. But that is no excuse whatsoever. When it comes to gyms and restrooms/showers that should be one of the main places where it should be attended to very often.

Hours weren't that great to begin with then they went and made them worse recently By closing down early on the weekends. (Among other things) Nothing's ever stocked up in the bathrooms and there's no type of cable attachments readily available which makes it hard especially as busy as it is. Could also use some bigger dumbbells. Plus they charge you for towels at some of the locations now not to mention they are one of the most expensive gyms Intown and in the state for that matter.

I recently attempted to cancel my subscription, but instead of processing my cancellation as requested, they insisted that I had to pay for the next month's subscription first. Mane. It’s just a basic 2 level gym with a basketball court (that’s consistently closed for months at a time), a pool (only built for linear laps), machines (although about 30% of the most used machines are broken most of the time), and a turf (which is consistently missing turf items because they use them in the personal training area and are too cheap to buy another set of the same items). Review wouldn’t be so critical if machines weren’t consistently broken for weeks to months at a time and they didn’t stay closed for longer than ideal post winter storms. It would help to be a 24 hour facility as well. I’m sure there’s a liability justification for this but can’t be too concerning if Crunch and ATC can manage it. The only perc to not changes gyms is location and reduced crowds compared to the other gym options. Also, after the winter storm in I think 2021, they reopened after half year renovations and it took another 6 months before they had barbell collars.. I ordered from Amazon and got collars in 2 days. When they finally did get collars, they only had 1 or 2 sets and you had to CHECK THEM OUT AT THE FRONT DESK. There are at least 9 machines that need collars in this facility. That is a liability in itself. Last thing, I used to come at 5am. That was short lived as staff was consistently late.. we’re talking 15-20 min. 5am gym goers go early to save time and are likely on a tight schedule. No one has time to wait on a commercial facility to open at the listed hours. The potential is much greater than the execution.

ESPORTA fitness is always having problems. Some staff members do not show up for work on time so if you’re there you have to wait for someone to open the doors. Lakeland gym have these young managers who do not care about treating the clients with respect. We had a snow storm 1/14/24-1/20-24 I can understand the gym was closed for the week. Not the following days after the storm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday also. When I called, spoke with Ticco P, very rude and just a young idiot.
I canceled my membership. They are better clubs in Memphis surrounding areas and staff who shows up with a pleasant attitude to welcome you.

I recently had a disappointing experience due to the scheduling at Esporta Fitness gyms. The gyms were closed unexpectedly due to snowy weather conditions. While I understand the need for caution, what added to my frustration was the inconsistency in communication through their app. Initially, it indicated that the gyms would reopen in a couple of days. However, as the reopening date approached, it was postponed further. This pattern repeated, extending the closure each time the supposed reopening day arrived.

As someone who is quite adept at driving in snowy conditions, I found this particularly aggravating. The roads have now been cleared with minimal snow. Despite this, many businesses, including this gym, continue to remain closed even with minimal snowfall.

I've made four trips to this gym so far and have nothing but good things to say! Clean locker rooms, mildly busy during the afternoons, the pool, ladies' sauna room and showers have all been really convenient and the location is half a mile from my house.
The training program is a bit steep in cost for me to consider anytime soon, but I've loved working out on my own so far.

Update: why are the doors being locked at 7pm on Saturday!? As if, if you don't get in by 7pm you can't workout, although they don't close until 7:50pm...... because 8pm is not the closing time. They close early.

Gym itself is pretty nice although a few treadmills need servicing and haven’t worked for several months. Lots of equipment to choose from. Male staff needs to find a better time to “clean” the ladies locker room vs peak time when it’s full or even close it for 10 minutes or so while he does his thing it’s quite strange that he’s always needing in there they do have a (man working) sign posted but come on. All of the ladies are constantly discussing this issue, it makes everyone uncomfortable. Have him clean when the gym closes like other places that don’t allow men in women’s restrooms and locker rooms. He could also be wiping down equipment some machines are not the cleanest. The overall atmosphere is nice. Mostly quiet people who keep to themselves and just work out. They do need to turn the air conditioning on in workout areas.

First visit as a guest. Weekday mid-afternoon. I went for the pool which is a 4 lanes lap pool. Did not use equipment but there is certainly a lot to choose from. Have not had any issues until this past Saturday evening.. walked In to workout, my phone died so I could not scan my phone to get in and so that guy at the front desk.. did not greet or said anything to me.. I told him my phone died, can you please look me up? He still stared and did not respond ( seemed like he was bothered that he was asked to look up my account) the entire time did not say anything! We are blessed to have an incredible community of people who are supportive of each other and honestly a pleasure to get to work with. The positive energy is infectious and it's a dream to get to work out with them when I'm not coaching. Give Esporta Fitness a shot, the people are amazing and the coaching staff is pretty amazing too.

I have asked these people over and over to cancel my account and they keep charging me. I decided to go back to my old gymn cause they lied about their gym use. I only went to this gym one time and they keep charging me. Do not join this gym.

Difficult cancellation process, must come in on a weekday between 9-6 or cancel by mail, makes it extremely difficult for those with busy schedules, as well as isn’t a simple process as it is met with judgment and questioning.

Equipment are mostly clean and in good condition. Staff are nice and friendly. Covid guidelines are required, but just a few customers actually are following them properly.

Its bad because i can bring my child in he is literally 12 and he has to go to kids club where theres baby and giraffe toys its horrible ill never go there again i rate it a 0 luckly ill give them a 1.

I have been a member of what is now Esporta Fitness. I have no complaints in terms of the quality of their facilities. Where I do hold an issue is their absolute lack of decency or respect towards customers. Currently I am trying to cancel my membership, where previously the staff on the phone answered after myself being on hold for three minutes “yo.” After informing them that I am a member and I need to cancel my membership. If that’s the incorrect way to cancel a membership then I would have appreciated being told that. That, however is not what happened. Instead, the person promptly ended the call without saying a word. Now I also have no way of canceling because I was never given my card by any of the staff. This is incredibly unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable.

Since EsportA took over, this gym got worse. Before it was tolerable. Now it’s worse. With the drop in price it allows everyone into the gym area. It’s only supposed to allow access to certain areas, this is not enforced. So low quality member come and ruin the workout experience for the rest of the gym.

I don’t come to a gym to clean up after children, but if I want to rear i my weight I have to step over what was left by the last person. No enforcement on this rule either.

There are several gyms that offer a better environment and experience for the same price.

The hardest working person in this gym in the cleaning gentlemen.

Look great on the website, but do not go here. Oh, forgot to mention, your car WILL get broken into.

Gym is nice but beware if you sign up for personal training. They make you sign a year contract and they don't care if you have lost your job or on your death bed, they will not let you cancel it for anything. They will expect you to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars to cancel, or freeze your account for a few months then resume payments, but cancelling is not an option. It's a nice gym, but if anything unexpected happens in your life, don't expect them to work with you. Not trying to be rude, just warning you.

Really nice gym and friendly staff. They have a good layout here and a little something for everyone. They have a full basketball court, a cycling studio, a cardio room upstairs, and a decent little weight room. The dumbbells only go up to 100-lbs which is light… do you even lift? Also, they don’t have Olympic (45-lbs) barbells for bench and squat and because of that I am giving them 4 stars.

Lately some of the equipment has been out of service. Usually the equipment is in really good shape and if out of service is fixed quickly however I have noticed some equipment out of service for multiple weeks (I.e of the 3 bench press, only two are in service). Other than that I chose la fitness for their abundant supply of free weights. The hours aren’t the best but they work.
