Landing is truly unmatched! I’ve been a part of their Group Training for almost 2.5 years. They design monthly programs targeting strength and endurance, each building on the last. Over the last year I have gained so much strength and confidence in what my body can do!
All the coaches are great, but I've especially valued training with Anna, Billy, and Crissy. Anna has been my consistent coach since the beginning working on my foundational skills and still helps me today! Billy not only plans the group training but also leads training with extra attention to detail and adds humor to the workout! Crissy will push you to go heavier because she knows your strength and encourages you to be confident in doing so! These are just a few people that make Landing a place like no other!

2025 Update:
Landing has been and continues to be the most impactful investment I’ve made in myself and has turned into a forever commitment! It’s never too late to start investing in your health. I've been a Landing member for 7+ years and only wish that I had started even sooner. Two years ago I joined one of their smaller semi-private groups thinking I would change things up for 3-6 months--after two years, I'm definitely hooked and love that I can still take advantage of the larger group training sessions as well. Best of both worlds. Landing was the best decision ever for my physical and mental health, and I love the camaraderie and support from my gym pals. I love that Landing's focus is on what each of us can do in any given season of life and they tailor my activities as my seasons change!

The group classes are a solid workout. The trainers are attentive, kind, and personable. The daily workouts and program focus is shifted on a monthly/quarterly basis, which really gives value over time. They dispense with the "culty crossfit" environment and instead lead with a down to earth, functionality over strict performance setting. Overall, LH&P has been a consistent source of support in my health/wellness journey and I can't thank Shane/Chrissy/Trainers enough for the culture they continue to create at this wonderful gym.

No matter who you are, what your life has been like, how much you think you cannot, it doesn't fit your schedule and lifestyle, that a gym isn't for you, that you won't feel welcomed, that the coaches don't "get you"...enough already. Just get into Landing Health and Performance. Show up, and keep showing up. When you do, I think you'll find a welcoming community of nice people. And if you stay with it you'll see results whether that's health, fitness, confidence, energy, positivity, or strength as you're aging (...me!!). I am a reformed, very happy couch potato. I still love my couch. I also love going to my gym. It's a fun mix of all kinds of people, which I find refreshing personally, and everyone is really encouraging no matter what. Back in 2020, I joined Landing looking for a way to reconnect with fitness and lifestyle changes. Owners, Shane and Crissy did an intro sit down, to explain who they were and the programs that were offered. I could not wait to signup for classes. Every team member at the gym was kind and encouraging. Going above and beyond for their clients.
I was paired with one of Landing’s Coaches, Billy. He was kind, professional and met me where I was and helped me create a plan to reach my goals. I took some time away due to job and schedule changes and recently reconnected with Billy postpartum. Now as a mom, my goals and schedule have changed again. Billy has helped me reached my health and wellness goals through a custom, tailored program made just for me.
Through online programming and at home training with weekly check ins, I feel like I have reached my goals and am continuing to maintain and exceed them. I will forever be so thankful for Shane, Crissy, Billy and the entire landing team.

I have just started going to Landing within the last month and I can’t say enough good things. I had a pretty scary medical issue about 2 years ago that left me with some long term physical changes. Shane was so understanding when talking to me about what my goals were and really took the time to listen about my concerns getting back the gym. Billy was super encouraging at my onboarding session, really making me feel comfortable in the gym setting again. I have started working with my personal trainer, Josh, and he is wonderful!! Not only do I enjoy my workouts, I actually look forward to them! Josh knows how to push me without being too pushy, he has a great personality, and I feel like I’m hanging out with a friend while I’m training. I’m already seeing positive changes!! Everyone at the gym has been super friendly and welcoming and I haven’t felt intimidated at all. I feel like this is the beginning of a new chapter in my life with a fantastic gym!

Prior to finding Landing I tried other gyms. For months I would pay for memberships, however the lack of motivation or unkept promises of friends, I didn’t go. There was no support, no encouragement, nothing to make me WANT to go. Now that I have found Landing, I have found my support system- I found my people. I always have other members and trainers encouraging me to keep going and reminding me I can do it. They all notice when I get lazy and start to lay out or when life pulls me away and they take the time to check in to make sure I am okay and to encourage me to make my way back in. 10/10 recommend them any day.

We found this gym while looking for strength training options. The problem with most gyms are you go in and are expected to know something about what you are doing. The fact is, most people working out in the big box gyms don't have a clue what they are doing, and it is often detrimental to their goals. At Landing we are in a semi-private coaching group with Matt who is a highly qualified coach on a regiment that meets our needs, and pushed to improve without being pushed to the extreme of injuring ourselves. Going 2 days a week, with homework sessions outside the gym is just right for us and we are already feeling the benefits we are receiving.

The Landing folks are all very friendly and helpful. They also are involved in the community and host community centric events. I are making a lot of progress on building lost muscle mass (age related loss is real), thanks to my trainer. Nutrition is also a focus for Landing and seems to be a basis for building good health and muscle mass. They do not push but let you move at your own pace. I'm highly pleased with the entire operation.

I'm not typically the kind of person who likes to be told what to do, but the programming and instructions at Landing are perfect. These are ever-rotating workouts that are written and facilitated by people who know what they are doing. I find myself doing exercises that I would have NEVER thought to do otherwise. The experts do all of the research and planning, and all I have to do is show up and do the work and have fun. And, on a personal note, they truly care about each person's physical, nutritional, and mental well-being and success. Joining Landing is the best investment I have ever made in myself!! I have gained so much confidence both in and out of the gym. I have been in the semi-private program for six months and love having a customized program that fits me where I am at in my journey.

When I say I’m not a gym person, I still mean it, but I will say I’m now a LANDING H&P person. I’ve never been comfortable working out, it honestly makes me hate everything. However as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized physical fitness is vital to my future, so I went exploring for a personal trainer. I’ve also had some health issues so I was extremely picky about who I would be working with, and also pretty apprehensive and anxious about it. Finding Anna at Landing has been life changing!!! I opted for the semi private training since it’s a bit more price friendly but you also aren’t in a huge group, and you’re still doing individual workouts catered to your goals. Anna also has a physical therapy background which I was specifically looking for due to my health issues. I’ve been doing workouts with her for almost four months now and the difference has been truly astounding. Obviously gaining strength is a slow process, but I’ve already worked my way up to new weights almost every week. My pain is lessening from my health condition, and I can tell I’m getting stronger. I also want to really emphasize how welcoming this environment has been. As someone who has never really been comfortable in a gym setting, this place is so full of kind and welcoming people, they have never made me feel judged on my abilities, my workouts, my outfits, and we all understand that everyone is on their own health journey. I don’t know that I’ll ever love working out or going to the gym, but I truly don’t ever see myself leaving this place.

Every time I walk through the door of Landing I am enthusiastically welcomed and greeted by name. It sets a great tone for the workout. The facility is aesthetically pleasing and always spotless. The barrier to entry at Landing is accessible for a beginner and can be challenging enough for a seasoned athlete. The coaches do a great job of curating workouts, encouraging and bantering with you throughout. When you leave you are once again called by name and encouraged for the work you put in. This gym radiates inclusiveness and positivity. My only regret about joining is having not done it sooner.

Definitely recommend this gym. They’re so welcoming and helpful for all levels. My wife and I joined over a year and a half ago with little weightlifting experience. They take the time to make you feel comfortable joining a class and explaining the proper way to lift with each movement. We’ve made some great friends here it makes us look forward to going each week. Could not recommend enough.

Joining Landing is one of the best decisions I ever made! I didn’t have any experience with weightlifting, so I started out in Semi-Private training to learn and build my strength. The coaches made me feel so comfortable and confident, and tailored the training to my specific needs. Aerobic, cardiac, brain, and mental health exercises are extremely vital to mature people as we age. Both of my parents had dementia. Did you know that most doctors who treat dementia will attest to the fact that physical exercise—including weight-bearing exercise—is one of the most effective preventives in reducing the effects of dementia and other illnesses related to aging? That’s the #1 reason why I joined Landing H&P.
By the way, the Thrive coaches/instructors are wonderful: knowledgeable, friendly, professional, caring, and FUN! They know how to motivate people in our age group while leading us in exercises that are challenging, keep us limber and moving, and promote a healthy lifestyle. This facility is the greatest. As an active senior female I am really impressed with the Thrive class which is geared towards the over 50 crowd.
I needed strength to operate my small farm and Thrive helps with that. I needed camaraderie and Thrive helps with that.
I needed to learn proper weight-lifting techniques and Thrive helps with that.
Once when I had a back injury and couldn't lift very well, one of the instructors even came to my house to assist with storage of 800 lbs. of goat and chicken feed.
Not only are the instructors friendly and personable, they are very community minded. Being locally owned, they have their hand on the needs of the community.
There are lots of other training opportunities besides my class and I would encourage anyone of any age to come be a part of the Landing Health and Performance family.

I've been training at this gym for a few months. I am not a "gym person"
and came here to strength train as a supplement for sports performance. I was intimidated as I don't have a strength background but this place is literally so wonderful. The staff and patrons are all so friendly and respectful of each other. I do one-one-one training with Taino and he is phenomenal... Very knowledge, energetic and positive. He has worked with me around injuries and the sports I train for and he is really passionate about what he does which is so motivating and encouraging. I love training here and feel stronger and more confident as a result. I highly recommend it.

SLF offers small (14 people & under) group training, small group personal training (individualized programming), and one-on-one personal training. Workouts are a mix of strength based and cardio training on cycle intervals. With this model, it is evident the coaches don't just do this for a paycheck. I have said it before, and I will say it again - I LOVE SLF! This gym has been my home away from home for 5 1/2 years. The coaching and programming is unmatched. I have never felt so supported and encouraged in the gym and in life than I have by the South Landing staff. I have met some of my best friends at this gym, and I look forward to working out with them every morning!

I have been going to SL Fitness for 3 months now and absolutely love it! The coaches are very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun. The workouts change daily and you will never do the same one twice. This gym has a very large "team" feel to it, which is so motivating. It's my favorite part of the day!

The owners of South Landing and all the employees are top notch. When you walk in you automatically feel welcomed. In my past experience going to a gym for the first time has been intimidating but that wasn't my experience with South Landing. They actually partnered with a non-profit called Survivor Fitness which works with individuals who are in remission from cancer. South Landing helped me get my confidence back after going into remission from cancer. I am a member there and I love it! They have also provided top notch services through the COVID-19 pandemic and care very much about the safety and well-being of their clients. Even before the pandemic as well. They meet you where you at physically and safety is a priority for them. I appreciated that so much because I had never done Cross Fit prior to coming to South Landing. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a new gym to call home.

This is the best workout experience I've ever had. The workouts target all the different muscle groups. The trainers are extremely knowledgable about fitness and proper form. I'm a cancer survivor and participate in the THRIVE group for over 50s. The workouts are modified so that I get the most benefit based on my fitness level. It's also FUN! Chrissy and Shane promote community and activities for members. Great atmosphere, fun workouts and great people. This is my choice for best workout experience in Knoxville!

This is a wonderful community of people. The staff are concerned first and foremost with safety and health. Yes, "CrossFit" is in the name. If that scares you, don't let it. (Trust me. I am a reformed coach potato.) This gym gets people of all shapes and sizes and walks of life engaging in healthy behaviors and hitting goals they didn't think were possible. Don't be scared. Great gym! I also travel and experience other Crossfit gyms. The coaching is superior at SLCF. It makes all the difference to me. The gym is really for everyone and anyone that can commit to showing up! Like recess for adults!!
