I have been going to Lean for almost three years. The owner, Jeff, is incredibly kind and dedicated to helping you find a trainer to meet your needs. My trainer, Min, is the absolute best there is. He is encouraging, highly knowledgeable and has created a custom fitness plan to meet my goals. The studio is always clean and they are always updating and improving the equipment. I recommend this studio very highly!!

I’ve been working out at LEAN Personal Training for almost 13 years. Jeff has cultivated a positive environment in which to train. Min Kim, my trainer, provides challenging workouts, encouragement and flexible times that fit my schedule. While there are many days when I don’t feel like training, I am always glad to have worked out once the session is over! It’s also nice to see many familiar faces each time I work out. This to me is a testament to how well LEAN is run and the benefits Jeff and his team provide. I can’t recommend Jeff, Min and the rest of the team at LEAN enough.

LEAN has changed my life. My trainer Haley, switches up the exercises, rotates body part focus, closely tracks my progress, and keeps it always interesting! I have lost 32 lbs in just under a year. Thanks to LEAN I have more strength and better balance than I did a decade ago. Haley's support and enthusiasm are major motivators for me, as is the changing routine. My experience at Lean has been awesome and I have nothing but positive things to say.

For those who may not be familiar with Lean, this is a personal training gym, which means you show up at your scheduled time and work one-on-one with your trainer. For me, as a mom of two young kids, this has been a game changer. Between school schedules, work, extracurricular activities and everything else in between, I don’t have a ton of time to spend at the gym, so I really want to make the most of the time I have. I was a member at another local gym for years, but I always found myself having to wait for equipment/machines to open up, or I would get there only to realize I didn’t have a solid plan for my workout, or I would just lack the ability to really push myself enough to make progress on my own. Lean has simultaneously solved all of these issues for me. I simply show up and my trainer has a workout planned and ready to go. No more waiting for equipment, no more struggling to get motivated. The guidance and support I have received during each 30 minute session has enabled me to finally start feeling healthier and stronger without me having to spend hours in the gym.

While the progress I’m making would be enough to make the investment worth it, the staff/trainers also make this gym a step above the rest. From the moment I reached out to the owner, Jeff, asking to be scheduled with a trainer, he was kind, professional and accommodating of my preferences in regard to what type of trainer I was hoping to work with. He set me up with Haley, and let me tell you, she is awesome! She is incredibly kind, positive, encouraging and non-judgemental of previous fitness experience (or lack thereof) and ability, but most importantly, she knows her stuff. I feel confident in her ability to give me a great workout without asking me to do anything that would potentially lead to injury and set me back.

Finally, the location in the hill center in Green Hills is incredibly convenient for me. I can typically knock out a couple of other errands while I’m already out and, should I need a healthy post-workout snack, Whole Foods is right there.

In closing, I am extremely pleased with my experience at Lean and highly recommend it for anyone looking to make progress on their fitness journey.

Over 10 years ago I emailed Jeff Howerton, the owner, about training at LEAN. He responded to my inquiry immediately and set me up to train with Suzanne Young. I've been training with her ever since! I started training twice a week for 30 minutes, and now I go 3 times a week. I absolutely love everything about training at LEAN...Suzanne's fitness expertise and fun personality; a different workout at every training session; and the small, friendly private gym training atmosphere. My goal has been to maintain my muscle mass while being strong enough to enjoy everyday life (which includes being a grandmother), and I've been able to do that thanks to LEAN!

My main exercise goal was to find a place where I could feel comfortable, strengthen my body, focus on personal health and work with a trainer who would be able to work around any body limitations I may have. I have been working with Megan H at LEAN Personal Training for several months and it has been a life changing experience. Megan is patient and motivating and is so positive about what I am able to do. I have noticed a wonderful change in my body and mind. I always look forward to our workouts. What a fantastic experience I have had at Lean Nashville and with my trainer, Min Kim! I will tell you that I have been getting more done in my 30 minute workout than I could have done by myself...in an hour. Have been going to LEAN for a couple of years. I have been very pleased with the results and feel stronger and more healthy as a result. I initially started going, like many, to lose weight, and have accomplished that goal. My trainer, Min, keeps the workouts fresh by changing the exercises frequently. I have also worked with other trainers there and found all to be professional and caring.

The advantage of having a personal trainer, in my opinion, is to challenge one to do more than they would do alone and to help prevent injury by supervising by their workout. If you are looking for a personal trainer, I think LEAN is great place.

LEAN is an incredible personal training facility. Everyone there, both clients and trainers, are always friendly and eager to work hard. I appreciate the level of comfort that I've felt since walking through the door on day one. The gym is a great size and offers all of the equipment I need to complete my strength and cardio training. I've been working out with Marianne for about 8 months now. I couldn't ask for a better trainer and friend. She's taught me to love exercising and has helped me to turn my lifestyle around completely. I'm half-way to my ideal goal and couldn't have done it without her knowledge, encouragement and personalized workouts that she has developed and re-worked through every stage of my weight-loss journey. Even when she went out of town, she made sure to set me up with another trainer, Mackenzie, to ensure that I stay active. Mackenzie is such a sweet person and I've loved having several sessions with her as well. It really warms my heart to hear Marianne tell me how proud she is and to have others at LEAN, especially Mackenzie, take the time to tell me they've noticed my success. Overall, coming to LEAN has been the best, life-saving, decision I've ever made. I love it here, and I think you would too!

LEAN is great. It's not a busy gym with lots of people waiting for equipment or a "there to look good" gathering place. It doesn't make any different what your age,size or level of physical ablity is, the trainers customize your workout to your needs and goals. No waiting in lines for machines either! I have been going to LEAN for over 2 months. I have a goal- I want to make the police force which requires me to pass very specific physical testing. I have been working with Blake for over 2 months now. Not only is he getting me exactly where I need to be fitness wise , he is helping me change my entire lifestyle. We have revamped the entire way I eat. I am healthier from the inside out and my training sessions are the highlights of my week. With Blake, I have no doubt that I will pass the police physcial fitness test with flying colors! If you want any type of personal training, I cannot understand why you would go anywhere else.

I've been a client of LEAN since 2010. After an initial meeting with Jeff, he teamed me up with Marianne Wilson. She is the perfect trainer for me, pushing me when I need it and rehabbing me through a couple of injuries. She even consulted with my PT folks so we were all working on the same page. As a result, I'm back to full speed! I love my one-on-one workouts and have learned how to strength train as well as turn up the dial on my cardio. Having hit the big 5-0, I know that building muscle is really important for my long-term fitness. It's great to feel strong, balanced and fit and still get into my jeans!

I have been going to LEAN for about a year and half and have nothing but good things to say! I had been in and out of physical therapy after a back surgery and the trainers at LEAN have personalized my workout to help me achieve my goals, while still protecting my back. They did a great job matching me with an experienced trainer who pushes me as well as keeps in mind my injury. My husband and I have been going to LEAN for 6 months now. We wanted a place where we could find our motivation to work out again. We've never really been fond of the big box gyms and find it difficult to commit to consistently working out at home. Cannot say enough good things about LEAN and my trainer David. As a former college athlete, I was not a stranger to the gym. I never understood the benefit of having a trainer since I felt like I knew how to work out on my own, BUT thought I would give it a try to tone up in the 8 weeks prior to my wedding. Now I am completely addicted and have never felt or looked better! I've tried to lose that "last 10 lbs" for years on my own without success. Now I'm in a size 2 (from a 6). I seriously saw results in the first week of working out with David. He keeps me motivated, challenges me, but also keeps it fun. Jeff, the owner, is so friendly and always has a smile on his face. As a person who does not enjoy working out, I started at LEAN with the goal to improve my overall health and fitness.
