(Feb 2025) 10 STARS! Absolutely loved the Vinyasa Class with Maggie (and she had the best yoga playlist I've ever heard; she gave me the link after; yay!!!). She's probably my favorite instructor so far after trying 14 different studios in Nashville via ClassPass. She was so fun, engaging, positive, clear, and encouraging. She did many of the moves with us, and also walked around to observe and hype us up. I love the cozy studio decor, lighting, slightly padded floors, locker area, and the fact that there AREN'T mirrors in the studio. I want to take more classes at Movement Lounge, and am looking forward to it! :) Thank you!!!
(Sept 2025) Maggie Boyd is the best! I love all her yoga classes. She's so detailed, thoughtful, and intentional through every class, and you can tell she really cares. She has the most creative transitions, and gives great mods or adjustment variations as needed. Truly a blessing to take classes from her! She's the reason I wanted to join Movement Lounge when I tried it out via ClassPass back in Feb. 2025. Can't recommend her enough!

I started going to Movement Lounge almost a year ago as the first step in healing my relationship to exercise and body image. I live local and had passed by many times so figured it was worth the trial. I am SO thankful that I found this studio. I have participated in heated/unheated yoga classes, strength classes, and even tried an aerial class (so fun and VERY challenging). The instructors are wonderful, kind, knowledgable, and always make the everyone feel comfortable. I don't have a lot of discretionary income but I never think twice when purchasing my membership to Movement Lounge because of how much the classes benefit me day to day. It's a great place for me to show up for myself, get involved in the community, and get a great workout or practice in! Would highly recommend trying just one class for anyone who is on the fence.

I came in from out of town to visit my sister who goes here and I am just in love with the place. I've taught pole and lyra for years and love anything aerial- I also own my own online yoga business and I love visiting new studios. This place is great. I mean, How can you not love a studio covered in dog photos? <3 I took level 1 aerial yoga so I could do a class with my sister whos newer to aerial and even as someone whos not new, it was such a nice class. The instructor did great explaining things and was super encouraging towards everyone. I also took the morning heated power flow and it was a very nice class! I am used to very hot power yoga flows that are extremely challenging and super super fast paced...so id say this is not that. But its a power yoga class that even newer yoga students could enjoy as a way to dip their toes into that style because its accessible for everyone. Felt great esp after the 8 hour drive the day before! Ill definitely come back everytime I come to visit my sister and im so happy she found such a great space with so many awesome classes and people <3 highly highly recommend.

The space is one of the most welcoming places I've been to date. I love how Alex weaves in her passion - animals - and inclusivity into this studio place.
Anaise led us through a beautiful sound bath while in Aerial hammocks, and the curation of the vibe was so nourishing.
I am so grateful!
I look forward to coming back every time I'm here in Nashville!
10 stars.

I would give 4 without the terrible experience I had today.
Try NOT to book their class if you’re using ClassPass, because if you’re late, they have NO front desk staff to let you in, so you will drive all the way to this place close to nowhere, have NO class and get charged by ClassPass for not showing up.
The classes are OK - Not the best, but acceptable when the place I usually go to is fully booked. I was almost starting to enjoy it until I took the wrong exit when I get off the highway and late for a few minutes. The quality of the class is definitely NOT good enough for me to take that risk of getting charged again. Definitely not coming back.

Where do I start? I found movement lounge when I was in the pit of loneliness. After just one class I knew this was my home away from home and have now been a member for almost 2 years.
Regardless of where you’re at in your movement journey every teacher and member is there to cheer you on. It’s always been difficult for me to stick to a studio because it always felt like everyone just came for classes and then left but at ML everyone comes early just to hang out before class and it has created the most amazing community. Like I’ve literally made all my friends here. Lol. From dog yoga, to aerial activities, to just lounging about in the studio I could not be happier to be a member of such an amazing place.
It is so much more than just a yoga studio and I COULD NOT recommend it enough. Take a chance on yourself, take a chance on this place, and maybe your life will change like mine did.
I wouldn’t be me without ML. 🫶🏻
Thanks for my safe space Alex.

Taking classes at Movement Lounge has been the best game changer for my relationship with movement and my body. I've never enjoyed public exercise until now. The atmosphere and people (both staff and other classmates) are extremely inclusive of all identities and ability levels. Whether a low key restorative class, or held in the air aerial class....I HIGHLY recommend Movement Lounge.

What started as a two week unlimited trial has grown into not only almost two years of being an unlimited member, but provided me with a community that has developed into my closest friends. I have never been to another studio that has led me to being as comfortable in my own body than I have when I come to movement lounge. The instructors encourage us to listen to our bodies and honor our limits, giving us the freedom to say yes or no to different movements without any pressure. They celebrate every milestone big or small. Whether you’re having a rough day or celebrating a glimmer, every single instructor and student give off a warm energy that make you feel welcomed and respected. Plus, more often than not, you’ll find a dog in the studio looking for their furever home and are always happy you showed up for yourself.

I’ve been member of Movement Lounge for almost 2 years and still have not been to a more inviting and inclusive studio in this city. Everyone from the moment you walk in is kind and genuinely excited to see you. Movement Lounge allowed me to shed so many insecurities of my own body by showing me all the amazing things I can do with it through aerial and yoga. Most of all giving me strength to keep going by being apart of a community who celebrates right along with me. Alex the owner has created an incredible space for all us people looking for a home away from home.
If you’re looking for a community who encourages, celebrates, embraces all the things that make us unique - look no further than movement lounge ❤️

As a student at Movement Lounge, I have been welcomed unconditionally by every instructor and other student I have met. As a person in a larger body, it is really wonderful to walk into a space and feel ZERO judgment towards myself or anyone else, regardless of size, gender, orientation, or anything else. The whole community celebrates the beauty in each of our human souls, as a group and as individuals. I am always encouraged to say yes to new experiences and to say no and exercise my right to say no to trying something new.
If I could give more stars, I would!

Update 7/29/24- Movement Lounge is still my happy place! The community I've found here, the respect everyone gives me at all times, the support through difficult life times- it's in-matched. I've never found a yoga studio or gym which is so accepting and respectful to all people and all walks of life and really meets each student where they are. The teachers are kind and considerate, SO knowledgeable about wide variety of styles and modalities. The respect that is fostered here is amazing, and I cannot recommend this studio enough!

Love what Alex is doing, but Alex can't protect me every time I visit. I'd sign up for unlimited Alex, but worry how LGBTQIA+ are treated (at least for me). I hesitated for years due to the candid class pics during in compromising positions--forced class pics will require you to be impossibly cool to deny requests for photos. Forced group photos are like saying we're all family. I don't want to be forced to be in candid photos of me in sprawled positions and/or have to negotiate my boundary each class for a safe space at the detriment of just going along to get along. I don't introduce myself by my pronouns, gender dysphoria, and disabilities because I have been mistreated for doing so. I don't reveal until I know it is safe, and my safety was revoked multiple times on day 2 of an unlimited trial. I asked to stop the trial. Alex was her amazing self & boosted me up to want to return. Someone who looks a certain way facing their disabilities will have to go it alone (or do not speak to anyone ever). Looking for a studio that will accept those who do not look or act the expected way of the body they were given.

Attended an aerial yoga class for a bachelorette party here and had the best time! Alex and Schuyler made me feel comfortable, safe and empowered though this was my first time doing any type of silk work. The space was beautiful, clean and the vibes were high! Would totally recommend for regular classes or a special event!

I’m so happy I found this studio! It’s so pretty, boho/indie/retro vibes. I had so much fun in the aerial yoga class I took with Schuyler and learned some new poses in the hot yoga sculpt class with Alex that helped relieve my lower back pain. I felt welcome, supported, and guided in each class. I’m excited to come to more! 10/10 🙌

Found this studio on the MINDBODY app as I was looking for some non-heated classes near Hermitage. I’ve been twice now and am loving it. I took aerial yoga for the first time. Obsessed and can’t wait to go back. I don’t tend to commit to one studio but I think I will be coming here any time I can find the time in my schedule! Both instructors I had were also super friendly.

I love coming to the Movement Lounge for their monthly Restorative Soundbaths on the 4th Sunday of each month. I always feel more grounded after these sessions, and it is a beautiful way to get out of my body and step out of my own way. I love these sessions, their intention, and the welcoming atmosphere of this studio. One of the best businesses in Nashville, by far.

Movement Lounge quickly became my yoga home and I am so grateful for it. All their classes and instructors are weight inclusive, accepting, and create a safe environment. They’ve completely changed my relationship with exercise and made me fall in love with joyful movement. I wouldn’t ever have thought I’d be taking aerial or comfortable trying a power flow class before I came here. I’ve been practicing on and off for 18 years and have never found a studio that felt like this one. Such a special group of people with a great vision!

As someone who is not traditionally very active and also very intimidated by gym/studio settings Movement Lounge has been such a blessing. Every staff member I’ve interacted/had a class with has been more welcoming than the last and they’re also diverse in every sense of the word so its incredibly easy to fall right into it.
Beyond that, they’ve clearly done the work to create an inclusive environment that’s reflected in every detail and the type of person that they’ve attracted into their studio. I can not recommend this place enough!!!

This studio has completely changed how I view group fitness and has honestly helped me to fall in love with not only yoga, but my own body for the very first time in my life. No matter what I look or feel like when I come in, I always feel welcomed and embraced as I am. I love that it is a safe space. The instructors are phenomenal and as a fat, queer, disabled woman, they’ve treated me with an incredible amount of respect and dignity, even when I couldn’t keep up with the rest of the crowd. They’ve modified and supported as best they know how and it’s been so good.
I also am in love with the partnership with local rescues to help rescue dogs be adopted out into their forever homes! They’ve even got puppy yoga classes.
You’ve got to try taking a class here— and feel free to use our discount code “FOREST10” to save some cash too!

I love this place so much I’m getting emotional just writing this review!
Every instructor here is not only very talented, but so loving and warm and welcoming.
I NEVER imagined myself being brave enough to take a dance class, but this is such a safe and accepting place that I felt comfortable enough to try it, and now I’m totally hooked on aerial dance.
I hope they open many more studios so everyone can experience how special the culture and community here is. Yay to the owner who created this space!

As someone in a larger body, I've never felt more intentionally welcomed and supported than I do at Movement Lounge. It has been profoundly life changing. I feel seen, I feel celebrated and I have begun to find joy in moving my body and all it is capable of. All of the instructors really care and take the time to make sure everyone feels included. This studio is gender inclusive, fat positive, supports local animal rescues, and has had a massive impact on my mental health. I love being part of the community they've created!

Absolutely love this studio. Alex, the owner is extremely helpful and kind. Each instructor I've encountered (Morgan and both Heathers) takes the time to offer adjustments which is so important for someone in a bigger body. I'm obsessed with Jiggle and Fly aerial. Highly recommend the studio to anyone not sure if yoga is for them. It is I promise.

There isn’t a place to put 10 stars so I guess they only get 5! Major shout out to the entire cast and crew of this yoga studio. The owners, instructors, and clientele are unmatched. I drive across town to attend yoga classes at Movement Lounge because it’s worth it. I can’t stop raving about the classes to everyone. I just love Andrea’s aerial classes. So excited for our private aerial class in February. Ladies - you rock! Keep it up!

The movement lounge by yoga muttz is unequivocally the best. I've been going since it opened so about 6 months and it is just a wonderful, accepting, easy going community. The owners are passionate about helping their community and providing a space that is welcoming to all bodies and all levels of practice. If you're on the fence-- go!!! I've been to several other yoga studios in Nashville proper and I must say the movement lounge beats them all! AAAAAND they've got aerial yoga!
