I can’t say enough about how wonderful my experience with Nashville Ballet’s community classes has been. Whether you’re a total beginner or looking for more advanced levels (and everything in between), they have a place for you.

It’s a warm, welcoming environment from the moment you walk in the door. The people working at the front desk greet you by name and make you feel right at home, which is so heartwarming when you’re stepping into a serious ballet studio as an adult.

At the heart of my personal experience, though, is Eric Harris, the incredible teacher who brings so much kindness, patience, and expertise into every single class. He breaks things down in a way that makes you feel genuinely supported, and he has a way of making the whole room feel encouraged and welcome.

Eric’s positive energy and passion for sharing his love of dance create a safe, non-judgmental, comfortable atmosphere for learning and growing. His classes are both fun and challenging, and his style of teaching sets you up for success.

Each studio is clean and well-equipped, and for the community ballet classes, we even have an amazing live pianist, Margarita, who plays for every class, adding this beautiful, personal touch that just makes the whole experience shine.

If you’re thinking about trying it out, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s been a joyful, uplifting part of my life, and I think it could be the same for you. It’s not just about ballet… it’s also about the warmth, the community, and the genuine kindness you’ll find here.

With all my heart, thank you, Nashville Ballet.

We wanted to express our sincere gratitude for the dedication and time invested in training our two budding ballerinas.

We recognize that the training is rigorous and intense, and we deeply appreciate the commitment and expertise demonstrated by all the instructors. Both of our daughters have grown in leaps and bounds since starting this program.
Prices are reasonable and classes are moderate in size. A pleasant and warm experience.

Nashville Ballet is incredibly welcoming and professional. I recently visited their open house and learned about their Adaptive Dance Program for kids - what a wonderful way to share the love of dance. I’m looking forward to the Adult Ballet classes. It’s never too late!

I’ve never had any prior dance experience, and Eric Harris is my Ballet Level 1 instructor. He’s incredibly professional, welcoming, and attentive to detail. No matter how many students are in class, he always takes the time to correct technique, explain terms clearly, and treat everyone with respect—all while keeping a great sense of humor. To me, his teaching has that timeless, European elegance that’s truly inspiring. I’m very grateful for his work.

I’ve been a ballet dancer for years, but took a hiatus while in college. The adult pointe class I attended was perfect for jumping back in & working those feet again! I would’ve loved more communication from the instructor or the other students as it was my first class and I was not spoken to or caught up on what had been happening the previous weeks. All in all, I will be back, but a welcoming smile or just a kind hello would’ve made my first class a five star experience. Definitely recommend dropping in for a class if you are interested!

I took a community adult ballet class here. I'm no stranger to ballet but it's been a very long time, so I opted into the beginner level 2 class. Prior to the class, something came up and I asked to adjust my registration to a different day, and the staff were politely and quickly able to do so. The instructor, Graham, was kind, welcoming, and engaging, offering a great deal of personal attention. I enjoyed the experience very much and will return when I am able.

I was a bit nervous to try this, as I have very little previous dance training. Eric taught the Intro to Ballet class and made it so fun and engaging. I'm signing up for more classes, this seems like a fun new thing to learn!

Our 3-year-old daughter adores her ballet classes at Nashville Ballet. The instructors and entire staff have been so kind, patient, and thoughtful in helping her build confidence and joy through movement. From day one, they’ve made her feel welcome and supported, and have done such a wonderful job identifying the classes where she’ll thrive. It’s been so special to watch her fall in love with ballet and we're grateful for the nurturing and encouraging environment Nashville Ballet has created for young dancers!

I’m an adult Ballet learner with 10 years previous experience but that was 30 years ago! I dropped in on an adult class with Eric Harris and I have to say he was one of the best teachers I’ve ever taken ballet from in my life. Thank you so much, Nashville Ballet. I will be back

UNACCEPTABLE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY.

We want to find a more rigorous dance class for our little girls so we decided to try the Nashville Ballet School. They offer a free trial class so we went today only to find that they have no screens of what is happening in the classroom and parents are not allowed to watch the classes. So they just take the kids back to an unknown room and the parents have NO idea what is being taught.

How am I supposed to decide whether I want to pay hundreds of dollars to their school to teach my child to dance if I have no idea what they are teaching or how they are teaching it?

Not to mention the liability and safety concerns, in this world today. The total lack of transparency is a huge concern. The teacher has absolutely no accountability in the classroom because it is only them and the children who are in the room. I taught in the classroom for ten years... I know that accountability is important and that transparency about what is being taught and how it is being taught is someone parents SHOULD have.

It was a very frustrating experience, we were excited to get involved in this school. Too bad we can't even see what we are missing! We will not be back.

My daughter began taking ballet at the Nashville School of Ballet after taking part in their production of The Nutcracker last Christmas. Her experience with both has been nothing short of amazing! She is flourishing in her ballet course and has grown even more as a dancer. I strongly recommend the Nashville School of Ballet for those in search of a great dance School.

I saw a ad about Nashville Ballet enrollment for the fall. I reached out and they reached back out immediately. They answered all of my questions even the novice ones. My granddaughter is so excited to be in ballet. All this time I thought it would be very expensive I mean it’s Nashville Ballet. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is amazing. I’m so excited to see what my granddaughter learns and looking forward to what’s next. I’m glad we chose Nashville Ballet.

I'm an adult beginner at ballet, and I like to take a class at a local studio when I travel. That said, Eric was one of my favorite instructors to drop in on. I've been in regular attendance at my home studio for 3 years, but lately I've been struggling to advance. After taking Eric's class, I feel it might be a lack of technical training; the little details he brought up instantly changed the way I've been doing things since I started for the better. His technical focus and his passion for movement is very apparent in his teaching style, and his class left me wishing I wish I was able to be a regular.

My daughter just tried a trial ballet class this past Saturday afternoon and absolutely loved it. She said the teacher was extremely nice, kids were friendly and she learned so much from the class. She spent the rest of the afternoon practicing what she had learned. We were highly impressed by the studio and staff. She is looking forward to starting ballet class in August.

Volunteered here on a Friday night and I have to say I was impressed by the show that was put on.
As a volunteer I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the ballet following the first act and it was impeccable.
Joel,Melinda,Jess,Deborah, + the box office staff were so kind and helpful. They showed me around the facility and answered my questions as a new admirer of performing arts.
This was quite the experience and I will surely be back again as long as I am a local native to Nashville.

I've recently started taking the community adult ballet classes and have rediscovered my love for dance. Eric Harris is an incredible teacher and I highly recommend his classes for anyone who has missed dancing but nervous to start up again. His classes are welcoming yet still highly technical. I've watched myself slowly getting better and better as I keep coming back.

My daugther has been coming to Nashville Ballet for 6+ years and has loved it. The staff is great and she has had some great teachers. Depending on the level/age the prices are comparable to other schools. They also offer a children's division, an academy division, a professional division, adaptive dance classes, a young men's scholarship program, and community classes for the youth and adults.

When I was 16 I attended the Nashville Ballet Summer Intensive. It changed my life forever, I knew when I had my own children I wanted them experience ballet as a foundation for wherever they chose to do in their lives.
My son has been training at the Nashville Ballet 4 years now! My daughter will be starting her first year in the fall!
What has been the most meaningful experience for me this past year is the Nashville Ballet's ability to adapt and create a safe environment for everyone to express themselves. This has deepened my trust and solidified our relationship with them.
I do have a nostalgic relationship with the company however, they have given me skills that have lasted through bearing my own 3 children. My flexibility is one of the most cherished skills I maintain and the highest complements I still receive is that I am graceful. As an adopted child, ballet gave me the opportunity to express myself when I could not find the words, it was a safe and consistent place for me, it was a form of therapy. If nothing else I wanted my children to learn how to express themselves when word failed them.
I hope when I am old and gray I will still be coming here to see the third and fourth generation of our family train here!

I'm writing a review soley of of the nashville ballet "The Nutcracker "On live tv for the 2020 season . You could tell that this dance studio has professionalisam at heart . The dancers from each age division were exquisite . It is definitely seems to be an professional environment ,where discipline is trained ,however you can still tell the dancers are having fun . They put alot of work into what they do . I do know some friends who take and did take classes here and their experiences seem to have been enjoyable ! 🤍

Daughter absolutely loves it. She loves the attention she gets from her instructors and the chance to really try ballet in a serious studio, even for a 9 year old! We are lucky to have such a reputable dance studio in Nashville. Well run and very communicative.

Their intensive was absolutely terrible besides from the unorganized structure of information prior to the intensive you barely get any information when you arrive. The staff was rude and didn’t care about the students only about making their facility look good and they only paid attention to students who attended Nashville ballet all year long and no attention to boarding students the classes repeated themselves every week and I thought I would’ve gotten better staying at my studio then coming to Nashville ballet. The only part I enjoyed was the chaperones at Belmont and weekends which has nothing to do with ballet which is sad .Bottom line if you want to come to this intensive think again .

Very pleased with the Royal Ballet curriculum and attention given to technique. Claire is a wonderful teacher and my daughter loves class (Pre-Ballet II).
I wish the Brentwood facility were in better condition. The interior is cramped and in desperate need of fresh paint, new carpet, a better bathroom and the studio itself is a bit shabby. Hope those considerations will be made!

This place is unlike any dance school I've ever taken classes at before. The size of this place is enormous and seems a little bit like being on a college campus to me. The environment is really cool, the instruction is excellent and the only thing I don't care for as much is that is seems a little impersonable due to the massive number of students taking class.
