Reece and Ethan are top notch! National Fitness in the past has put a bad taste in the local's mouths but that team is truly turning it around! The gym has improved in the places it needed and I'm happy to be back! Thanks guys!

One of the better workout facilities in Sevierville. Brand new pool, updated sauna and hot tub, updated amenities. Lots of space, TONS of equipment, lots of new equipment that replaced old equipment, as well as individual rooms for classes and individual training. Staff is always walking around, picking up, wiping down, and facility even has child care. Staff is courteous, even the store manager Reece greets me by my first name every day when I come in. I'm a 5 year member, new mgmt and staff members here now. Give it a look, highly recommend!

I was in town on vacation looking for a great gym that has a sauna and a steam room. This place had both. Love the movie room. Lots of nice cardio machines. They have a multitude of gym a equipment, a lot of new machines, free weights and benches as well. Everything you need to get a quality workout. They also have a Hydro-massage chair which was awesome as well. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Reece was one of the staff members that helped me. Next time im back in town I'll definitely be back. Wish we had one of these gyms in Cincinnati.

This was a short experience only because I didn’t get to go look at the rest of the gym so the rest of the gym might actually be nice, but as soon as I came in, I was greeted by a lady at the front desk. She was a little heavier set and as soon as I came in, I was like hey I was just wanting to check out the Gym and one of the other employees. I hate you get to give a tour and she’s like I’m not giving him a tour very rudely said I’ll wait for somebody else to come down and give him a tour And then as I was sitting there she’s like hey I need you to fill this out and I was like OK I don’t mind filling anything out. I was like but I don’t want to use my email address. I just don’t like giving my email address out and she got really upset with me and she said well then you’re not gonna get to get a tour So I turned around and left. This was not a good experience at all being military. I’ve been to a handful of national fitnesses and I’ve never had a problem like this.

We just relocated back to the area and my family and I considered switching from planet fitness to here. We've bought a house 10 minutes away which I explained to John. I was told "This place is only for locals, there is Noone to talk to you about the family plans, show you around ect." I've never been so turned off by a fitness center. I attempted to sign up several times online. We'll stick with another gym. Just the vibe of this place has us realizing what the place is like before we accidentally signed up, thank you Jesus.

Gym always has half the equipment broke or closed. I tried to get out of my plan a couple months early and was told it would be over $700 to cancel because I had to move. Absolutely ridiculous and not worth paying $55 a month.

The variety of machines and things to do for everyone is great. The trainers and employees rock too. I researched every gym in the area and picked NF and I'm so very glad. Don't pay attention to any negative review... everyone is nice and friendly, they have tons of machines, a pool and hot tub, tanning... you name it. Even childcare. I'm really enjoying my experience here at NF.

Such a horrible experience ! I never been to any gym that required to be a gym member first before I can take a tour to see inside. Thats so weird .we walked in and asked the receptionist that we want to do a tour before signing up. She was like the person that signing up not here and she cant leave the desk so no . We aint allowed to see inside if we’re not their member . With that bad attitude , not friendly at all. We not going to come back to this gym.

Unless you want to stand in lines and wait to work out, do not come here they simply do not have enough equipment to support the whole entire city of Sevierville. The gym is in the middle of downtown Sevierville and they have two squat racks😂😮💨

Great gym with many different types of equipment to offer. Unfortunately the staff has gotten worse and worse since I started here 7-8 years ago. This heightened today when I showed up to the gym and the power was out. I told them I totally understand, however, if there wasn't a service being provided, I would like to be reimbursed or something of the sorts for the day I had to miss. I was ignored and pushed away by Maddie (the assistant gm) who supposedly didn't have authority to offer anything or even call the GM (who i witnessed them talk to multiple times while we waited). I've been in business for almost 15 years and anybody in power who acts like Maddie did is doing a disservice to their clientele and ultimately will fail the business. She was rude, unsympathetic, unprofessional and didn't care. She is single handedly the reason I will be looking elsewhere when my contract is up.

Honestly I would give no stars, if I could:
Price: More expensive than any comparable gym and they push long contracts.
Equipment: broken for years. Not well maintained at all. In the mornings, there's often not enough free weights or benches to accommodate the crowd.
Cleanliness: the men's locker room is absolutely disgusting at times.
Personal training: most of the trainers are "bros" and just want to talk about their gym crushes. The ones I've had that actually care don't show up consistently or quit very soon after starting.
Bottom line: Every other option is a better option.
*Emailed, per your request. Still no response from anyone at NFC. Just more negative reviews from others that echo what I've said here. This place is absolutely a waste of money. *

I recently visited your facility using a free day pass and was disappointed with the conditions of the pool. The water was murky, and there was a noticeable lack of enforcement regarding sanitation guidelines. While there was a small sign instructing guests to shower before entering the pool, many individuals entered without doing so, even when visibly sweaty. I believe it is crucial for the facility to reinforce proper hygiene to maintain cleanliness and prevent potential health risks for all visitors.
Additionally, as I was exiting the pool, I noticed that one of the steps was loose, posing a serious safety hazard. This could lead to accidents or injuries, and I strongly urge that this issue be addressed promptly.
While I appreciate the amenities your facility offers, these concerns have made me hesitant to get a membership. I hope these issues can be resolved to ensure a safer and more sanitary experience for all guests.

Just completed 3 year contract with this gym and I can’t in good faith recommend this place to anyone. Poor gym equipment condition/ availability and customer service is now a foreign call center. Upon completion of my 3year contract they billed me for a full month and I only had access to to gym for 11 days remaining per my contract but was billed for full month. Guess thats what you get for 3 yrs of payments and honoring your side of contract with NFC. Workout anytime has a brand new facility for less than half I was paying 80$ with NFC now I’m at 23$with workout anytime per month.

Don't pay attention to all the negative reviews. They obviously can't read a contract or have never been held to a contract and thought they could beat the system.
The gym has many great features, including childcare while you work out. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Good variety of equipment with staff and members all offering assistance and guidance. They have a swimming pool and hot tub. They also have a workout theater room and a women's only section in the gym.
If you want no commitment and mediocre gym experience, there are gyms for that. You definitely get what you pay for here. It's not just a gym, it's a wellness center.

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS GYM! Machines are always out of order, the hot tub is always out of order, and if you sign up for the gym pass to include the water massager guess what it’s always out of order too! Then they will try to rope you into a personal training contract where there personal trainers push you too hard and you get injured and there is no way out of the contract. It will also be like pulling teeth to try to find time for them to fit you in the personal training schedule
There is a female only gym and that is nice but it’s always so incredibly hot down there compared to everywhere else in the gym they need to put more air conditioning down there

So quick to give u a late fee for the automatic payment when u haven't even been in 6 months. Decent gym I guess when their machines aren't broken (which is often). The card I use for my bills got maxed, so I paid it & then the next day they hit me for $40 extra than normal. Literally like a day after my bill was normally due. Not a month or a week. There are plenty of other gyms around with the same equipment that won't try to wrap u in a 3 year contract & wait for a moment like this to try a catch u. Absolutely ridiculous. They also charge u almost $100 a person once a year for maintenance fees which is ironic because many of their machines stay broke. Find another gym

Have been a member here for nearly a year. In that time, the sauna has been shut down 3 times and right now, the door is basically hanging on by one hinge. The seating in the sauna is also deteriorating. The steam room has been down for over 2 weeks now. Have been told they are waiting on parts. The hot tub has also been shut down a few times and the water does not look clear most of the time. Those in charge are not diligent about keeping children under 12 out of the spa units, NOT the pool. Management not overly concerned with the issues at hand. Paying members are charged at least twice a year for maintenance and there should be a hefty sum in that account considering this place has over a 1000 members. It's sad because this is a really nice gym that just needs to be taken care of in a better way.

My husband and I joined NFC in Sevierville nine months ago because we weren’t achieving our fitness goals on our own. We are training twice a week with a personal trainer and working out independently once or twice a week. We are extremely happy with NFC. Our trainer has been very encouraging, while pushing us to reach and exceed our goals. The facilities are fantastic - more equipment than we could ever need, and all of the staff members are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere at NFC is positive and upbeat, not at all intimidating to the novice athlete. If you are looking for a place to train in Sevierville, I would strongly recommend you check out NFC. You won’t be sorry!

This gym is a joke. I honestly thought all these people fussing about not being able to get out of their contracts were just whining, but my 3 year contract is literally over & I still cant get out of this contract without being literally ripped off. I've been lied to since the very beginning. Each & every person you talk to are trained to lie to you to pacify you & make you feel like when your contract is up, it's easy to get out of. When I signed up 6/9/21, I was told when my 3 years are up my contract is over but if I want to.go month to month after that then I can. Weeks leading into my contract ending, I was asking different trainers & front desk employees that if my contract is up 6/9/24 & if I want out of this contact is it going to be difficult like everyone says it is? They say oh no it will be easy if you've fulfilled your contract. Well guess what, I asked another trainer last week & she told me that once I cancel that it will be a 30 day waiting period & I was like okay that will be fine. Then I was told I have to speak to a John to cancel & that only he can do it. Every single day since then this John has been absent or gone for the day or he just left. My monthly payment is due every month on the 17th & it comes out automatically. So finally on June 14th 2024, a girl claiming to be front desk manager got the form I needed to fill out to cancel because once again this John was absent. Keep in mind this is June 14th & my next payment would be due June 17th & also keep in mind that my 3 year contract has already been fulfilled. So I canceled on June 14th & then was told at this time that not only would I be billed for June 17th-July 17th, but that I would also be billed for July 17th-August 16th as well. But was told that my membership would.end on July 17th. July & January are the two rip off months they charge everyone an extra 25 dollars per month for "cleaning." So it's funny, that my literal contract is over on 6/9 but they are gonna bill be for June 17th & July 17th so they can rob me another month & another $25 cleaning fee. I got news for them, if a payment comes out of my account for July 17th-August 16th, I will be using this gym any day I want to come until 8/16 since I be scammed to pay for it. That's my news for them. Luckily for this gym, I'll be going on vacation from 7/27-8/19 & so I won't be in town a whole lot during this time but every single day that I am in town, I will be going to this gym whether they like it or not since I will have paid for it. Also I've been told that this gym may keep on taking out payments even after 7/17 each & every month until I put a stop payment in because the place is a scam. Each & every person that works there are uninformed & lies to you. Everyone else that considers themselves some type of manager or trainer knows better but just flat out lies to you & scams you & it doesn't matter whether you are trying to cancel your contract early or if you are like me trying to get out of a fully fulfilled contract. I can see taking out the 6/17 payment but there is no reason to also take out 7/17 & the only reason they are doing it is because it's a scam & they want another $25 cleaning/maintenance fee. Let's talk about the cleaning/maintenance fee for a moment. The parking lot looks like land mines have gone off on it, the steam room is completely nasty & if you go in it barefoot, you will get many funguses on your feet & between your toes. Lots of equipment stays broken down all the time. Lots of times, the hydromassage is down & sometimes the sauna/steam room or pool/hot tub are broken down. I remember once the clothes dryer in the locker room was broken down for over 2 months. The atmosphere at this gym is weird & people aren't very friendly. Do NOT sign a contract with this gym because trust me that you will be lied to. Your contract will not be over when it's over/fulfilled & you will be screwed over & you will be lied to. I can join Workout Anytime & the community center both much cheaper than this gym & not be scammed. NFC Sevierville is a scam.

DO NOT EVER GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!! We had a family sickness & I had to move. I called to cancel & told them I was on a fixed income and have been paying for a PT for 8 months & not even going to the gym. They will not let me out of my contract even though I've told them I can't afford the $195 cancelation fee and they've been getting $70 a month from me for months. No exceptions to the contract! So I have to continue to pay $70 a month or pay the $195 cancelation fee. All out for the money!!! Bad business there should be exceptions to the contract in certain circumstances beyond someone's control, but there isn't.

It’s a good gym don’t get me wrong and I’ve been decently happy with my membership. But $55 a month and then an extra $25 per quarter, I believe it was, for maintenance is wild.
Normally I’d say it makes sense but when you see 6+ machines out of order for the last several months for simple cables, bent barbells and missing barbell clips, it seems the maintenance fees are being wasted.
Sevier’s bathroom is clean and nice but the Maryville and Knox gyms are riddled with black mold.
Overpriced for what you get if you just need a place to lift because “classes are included” and there’s weird weekend hours. I’ve been to probably 10 gyms in my life and this one isn’t bad or great tbh. But your standard big box gym. If maintenance fees actually went towards maintenance and the showers actually got deep cleaned the price would make sense and I wouldn’t have any feedback.

The people at the Sevierville location are GREAT. I recommend them at 5 stars. HOWEVER, national fitness vorporate could do much better. As of this review, March 2024, this location has FIVE broken machines. One of which has been broken since April of 2023!!! Why? Because this location gets its equipment from other locations when "corporate" decides to send them because they were replaced elsewhere. A machine being broken for a full year is an absolute reflection on NFC corporate and shows they aren't fully committed to this location.

Utilized the “free pass” This is the only gym in the area with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna! That’s a huge plus. Steam was clean, sauna not as much with dirty windows. Lots of equipment for lifting. Overall, it’s by far the best facility in the area. Only 4 stars because they require a stupid 1 year contract or it’s $99 for a month and no towels! When I initially signed up, I spoke with a Mgr. named Mattie. I told her that I would only be in town for a few months and just needed somewhere to lift while I was in town. She told me that I could sign up there and as long as I live 20 miles away, It would be very easy to cancel.
So now that it is time for me to cancel, I'm told that there's no way for me to cancel. I live 2 hours away and now work 2 hours away and there will never be a reason for me to be down there anymore. I have spoke to representatives on the phone for at least 5 hours. I have sent and received numerous emails. No one is really out to help. People just want to talk over you and tell you that you had a misunderstanding.
There was no misunderstanding, I was lied to directly.
Apparently a lot of people have been lied to directly.
On top of that, they want you to jump through a ton of hoops that you will never be informed of by a person where you sign up. They just expect you to read and understand all of the minutiae and fine print.
-They want you to send documentation of your new address.
-They want you to send them a cashier check of $195
-They need a pay stub from the new job that is more than 20 miles away from the original establishment.
-They won't allow you to leave a contract if there is a gym in the area you are moving to.
- after they receive a certified letter including all this, They can either deny it or accept it.
- you will also be billed the whole time All of this is going on after you send the certified letter.
- your primary residence and where you work both have to move and be more than 20 mi away from any national fitness in order to get out of a contract.
-
When I called and tried to explain what I was told by Mattie, It seems like it they don't want to hear anything I have to say.
As I have more and more interactions with representatives of the company, I get more and more curious how things operate.
I started looking things up on the better Business bureau, consumer affairs, and even some reddit threads. As you read these, you find out that this is more of a timeshare racket than a gym. There are numerous complaints of people that have cancer or that have even died, and they still won't let these people or their families out of contracts.
Do not trust anyone you talk to. They will say what they need to say in order to help their bottom line and revenue. It is all about the dollar and has nothing to do with people or customer service.
Please don't be trusting like I was. If I can help someone from entrapping themselves, please hear what I have to say and research everything yourself before making a decision!!
I am meeting with a lawyer on Wednesday. I will update as I find out more.

I wish I had read these reviews before I joined. Don't join any gyms that have contracts. If you have a crystal ball and know the next two years of your life is going to be perfect, go to one with contracts otherwise you are paying for nothing.
I've been seeing a lot of NFC adds on TV. In this economy just go to one that is month to month. Life happens and unfortunately contracts only favor the business.

Top notch gym. It is kept very clean and sanitary. The amenities are endless. I decided to get a trainer and Christi is absolutely amazing. She is very knowledgeable and very motivating. I have already lost 13 pounds training with her in a little over a month, and I feel better than I have felt in years physically and mentally. I am very grateful for the ladies in the childcare center also. Although ALL the ladies in there are angels, special thanks to Cassandra and Tabitha. My daughter is in their care the most. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the establishment. Thank you!

Impossible to talk with the "only" person on-site that can do anything regarding membership issues. They can't keep personal trainers, thus meaning if you sign up for that service, you get ripped off due to the revolving door of trainers, so basically they have your money and you have nothing in return for what you were paying for.
If restitution isn't made, then this will be provided to the media to investigate, as I know my husband and I aren't the only ones being ripped off.
Also, if the "ONLY" Person that can handle membership issues can't be there to cover more hours than 10am-5pm, then they need an extra person so that the hours are covered from open to close. It's a simple concept, however like everything else we've encountered with NFC that type of thing is extremely elusive.

I pay extra money for a buddy pass membership so I can bring whoever I want every time I go to the gym. They make whoever my “buddy” is leave their ID at the front desk until they are done working out. Mildly strange but whatever. Well they apparently now take your ID, which is state property, and run your information against collections etc WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT and I’m honestly not sure if that’s legal. The front desk agent wouldn’t give my friends ID back to him before giving it to another coworker while he was actively eating lunch and the whole situation was weird and uncomfortable and come to find out, there was no reason he wasn’t allowed there.
Also they keep things like kettle bells, TRX straps, weighted balls, and I’m sure a few other things I’m forgetting at the moment locked up in the personal training area where members can’t use the items unless you are in a training session which you also have to sign a wild contract for and pay even more money.

They have a pool. The place is huge with 2 floors. There are several workout machines, a free weight room, and there is a room with about a dozen treadmills in front of a TV that has Netflix on it. They have all kinds of classes like spin class. A hydromassage table. And there is a space for children to play while the parents work out. You can have a personal trainer, and they can give you health assessment using lidar laser scanning. To them, it is not the weight as much as losing fat and inches. This is a great place with friendly people.

Love the gym but leadership is not flixible at all and have no flexibility at all, so it started that I made a decision to focus on helping my daughter , she chose the wrong path , and I ask for a 4 month suspension of my account because I had to afford legal help and medical help, which strapped us financially, the office person said ok but you still have to pay your dues???? So whats they point stupid, sonic course the gym comes after you like the FBIs most wanted?? Then I requested the start the membership again by paying 3 or 4 months and start back oh no!!! You need to pay off the $3k then we can start over? When given the option focus on saving my daughter or pay the gum sorry NF my kid wins, compassion is not easy to come by anymore!!😔😔

POTENTIAL MEMBERS BEWARE!!!! READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY! I joined this gym as it was the closest one to me as I had just moved to Tennessee. On the surface, it looks like a good deal for everything they offer. Pool, spa, childcare, movie room, group classes, cardio equipment and free weights. After reluctantly signing a 36 month contract, I soon realized what a mistake I made choosing this place. A lot of the equipment is broken, spa is dirty, gym equipment is not maintained and dirty. Why pay a biannual "maintenance fee" if nothing is repaired or replaced?? It's a B.S. fee! The included group class is a joke! The instructor didn't show up for a class, no explanation. Another time, the cardio treadmill class instructor was not in shape herself! How is she supposed to motivate the rest of us, if we are in better shape than her? If you want to take the private group class, there is an extra charge. On top of all this, I relocated out of Tennessee, and then there is a $195 cancellation fee (ridiculous 4 month fee!!) plus you need to send a letter by certified mail and a 30 day notice to cancel, so you end up paying another month of membership, 5 months total!!!! Absolutely ridiculous! I wrote a letter to the president, Lee Sloan, which he never bothered to respond! So unprofessional overall, gym and owner! Most of their locations all have the same negative reviews and complaints! I hope this company goes out of business!! There are much better options available for much less money!

Traveling medical student. I never do reviews but felt as the need was great seeing the price contrast. The Sevierville Community Center and Leconte Wellness Center are joint institutions have monthly memberships for $50, and yearly for $105! Yes yearly for $105. This place quoted me $85 for one month. Anyhow both the aforementioned places are connected and memberships work with both so I went with them, I can go to either during my clinical rotation for the month for $50. Hoping to save some people money with this review. Peace

They are nit maintaining there equipment well at all. If you ask the club mgr. he will give you b.s. about supply chain issues, except he didn't know that I know about 70% of all fitness equipment is manufactured in North America and western Europe where ther is no supply chain impact so... glean what you will. Also, they are not utilizing their space efficiently, the layout is horrible. Nit only are circuit style workouts almost impossible to achieve, so are variation sets .... I would welcome any major competitors to come into Sevierville since it is amateur hour here...

Gosh why all the negative reviews. I have been going to National Fitness Center for about six months now. I have nothing negative to say it was best move I made coming here. Let me tell you a story I was going to Anytime 24/7 fitness after getting back into the gym first of year I enjoyed what time I was there but big difference night and day. You get what you pay for folks plain and simple. I left there after my vehicle got broken into one night after work they have theft issues in that gym they honestly didn't care about the safety of their members so that big issue for me safety of members so that was the end of them for me, they will hit you with hidden fees, facilities aren't that clean, shady members, to crowded, lack of staff. So big difference at National Fitness they care about there members, clean facilities, plenty of staff and their friendly and helpful, plenty of equipment, a lot bigger, has a lot more to choose from, it's safe there, better quality of members. It is contract so be aware it's same time every month and two maintenance fees a year. I have no issues I love my gym and the quality of people we have. It's convenient for me. I'm sorry about some people's bad experiences but I have nothing but good to say I'm in best shape of my life now. Thank You National Fitness!

For all who is complaining bout the contracts don't ever get one with Olympus cause it is worst or 24/7 fitness(unless they changed it over the years). I always read what I sign so read unless u can't(like Floyd Mayweather) then ask. Not to be harsh but I see a lot of reviews saying that so read or ask questions. Now the customer service yes is rude but that shouldn't reflect the gym tho it could be a improvement.
The front desk at all locations I've been to are nice, Joe did my contract and answered all my questions, Charlie PT manager I was having car trouble and was gonna do a PT contract and he understood, unstand the gym is clean and bathrooms are too. But my 5 star reviews has to do with the people in the gym who makes you feel welcome. 😊😊💯🔥

WORST GYM EVER!! I don’t write reviews but this place is just that bad. Life happens and when you call and tell them you can’t pay your membership, you just get extra fees until you can. Due to National fitness taking extra fees out of my bank I lost my car bc I couldn’t make my payment. I moved about an hour away from the location I was using but still can’t cancel. I don’t even go to this gym anymore due to the rude staff and horrible customer service. Here I am paying $50 a month for the next 2 years because they’re money hungry. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't ever sign their contract. It's a trap! There is no way to terminate the contract unless you move 20 miles away. When I called the customer service and asked to terminate my membership for a cancelation fee, the lady on the phone rudely notified me that I was not allowed to cancel it, and that I was basically stuck with it for the rest 2.5 years. They don't care if your life changes and you are no longer able to use their gym, they just want your money. Their customer service is also very rude and show zero respect to the customers. When I told them that I was going to write a negative review, the lady on the phone basically told me that she didn't care, and that I could do anything I wanted. Once you are on the hook by signing the contract, you are just a money bag for them. Be careful!

Always dirty, bathrooms are filthy, locker rooms never get cleaned, lockers have the same drinks in then since I started coming here, machines are broken, nothing gets fixed, but they make sure to charge a maintenance fee twice a year. Under paid staff, employees change over every month or so. Went to management with issues, nothing has changed. Today I get in at 9:00am on a Monday, the bathroom uo stairs was absolutely filthy, garbage was overflowing trash and dirty toilet paper all over the floor, toilet filthy, sink filthy, bathroom has not been cleaned all weekend, so now I'm writing this review.

Really disappointed with this fitness center. I thought this was a high end gym so I signed up during their flash sale while I was out of town. When I came back 2 weeks later and went for the first time, I was very disappointed. Weights were all over the place. It was dirty and not well maintained. There are a lot of broken equipment and ripped seats. I tried to get in contact with someone about it and they just kept giving me different numbers to call. No one really cared that their gym was a complete disappointment. I tried cancelling, since I had just filled out the final paperwork the day before, but they refuse to cancel it. Poor management. Going here only because of its proximity to my home. I’d heard the “horror stories” about their contracts and billing, i.e., “our policies are listed in the contract”. Issues regarding billing when joining and recently again, putting me behind. Went to location to pay and they’ve added a “late fee” which is almost as much as a month’s membership. Staff is great, Donna is a breath of fresh air in the am but...a “late fee”? That type of practice is equal to a high interest, low limit credit card. If there were a closer gym to my home I’d go there.

I only have one issue. But, in my eyes its a big one. I really wish the time children are allowed in the pool would be limited to certain hours of the day. This makes the third time I've been here when unruly kids interrupt my swimming. Very annoyed tonight. I have spoken to staff on another occasion. That time no adults were with the kids. Even when adults are they just let their children run around, horse play, and scream. This is a gym for exercise not family time. I had no idea this would be the case when I signed a contract. Or, I would not have signed three years away to a "public" pool atmosphere!
Very disappointed,

Signing a contract with this company has been the worst experience I have ever had with a business in my entire life. The facilities are nice, but they definitely do not make up for how horrible the management (at least John) or the contract is. Not sure if he still works there but there are two examples of how unpleasant John was when I had the misfortune of interacting with him:
1) One time before I had my own membership, I went in there with my mother as her guest. I had walked out to the car because I forgot something, then came back in and I didn't have the scanner. He stopped me, made me wait by the front counter while he finishing chit chatting for several minutes, then made me explain why I was walking in without a scanner with several other people very near by. I explained to him that I was with my mother as her guest and she had scanned me in when I had walked in the first time. Then he told me he would "let it slide this time" in a very serious way, not joking at all, as if I had been violating the policies just by being there. Very rude, and made me feel so uncomfortable when I hadn't been doing anything wrong.
2) After purchasing a membership, I told John one time that the women's only exercise room was missing one or two dumbbells, as in two sets had only one of each. He was very flippant and just said, "Sometimes that happens, people will take them home in their gym bags, there's nothing I can do about it." Several months passed and still nothing had been done. It's really weird to me to have a women's only section in the first place rather than proactively cultivating a culture of being accepting to women in every area in the gym, and he just doubled down on the crappiness by showing he didn't care if the women's only area had ample weights to be used, but the other areas have multiples of nearly every weight for the dumbbells.
Not sure if this has to do with management or what, but for the time I was going to this facility, there was a different person working the front desk every few months. Not sure the exact reason for that turnaround, but I'd guess it had to do with management in some form or fashion.
Also, the contract is absolutely ridiculous. With most businesses ever, if you want to end a contract, you simply pay a fee and you can end the contract. Not here. You have to move far away (I think 50 miles) from any of their facilities and have paperwork to show it, and also provide proof of employment in that area. I haven't been to the facility in probably over a year because I am SO uncomfortable even walking in there, not to mention that I work from home now so I would have to drive at least half an hour there and back, but there is literally nothing I can do. Oh, besides pay off the contract in its entirety which is way more than I can afford all at once, or find someone else who wants to buy the contact off of me in full, which isn't likely to happen. And here's a fun fact about that: the policy regarding this is under the "VIP locker room" section of the contract, which is shady if you ask me.
Calling member services is in NO way a solution to these issues, and is in fact an absolute nightmare. The person who answers never gives their name, and most of my experiences have been very unpleasant, where the woman is short, cuts me off, and tries to get off the phone as quickly as possible. Again, very uncomfortable.
All in all, I regret the decision to sign a contract with this company constantly, and would urge potential customers to read the other reviews first and consider going somewhere that is cheaper, has the same basic equipment, and less overall douchiness. For example, the Pigeon Forge Rec Center's membership is $100/year for a family of 4, and they have a nice facility with lots of options.
I have waited for quite a while to write this review, wrestling with how forthcoming I should be, but in the end I feel like other people need to have an honest idea of what they are getting into before signing a contract like I did.

At first, they were very nice and then we met the general manager and he was very loud and upfront. After showing us the gym and talking about the (very high) prices we were a bit put off since the contracts were so long and all we wanted was a year not three years like he said was only available.
Anyways I went in a week later to see if I could work out for an hour so I could see if I liked it enough to sign and I was willing to pay for it. The general manager saw me and asked an employee to track me down to speak with me. He had me sit down and his office and proceeded to ask me if I was trying to rip off the company and “take advantage of their facilities” I said no sir and that I just wanted to workout for the day. After he started accusing me I was about to get up and walk out (which I should have done) at that point he told me to enjoy my workout. I went upstairs to try to workout and left after 20 min because I couldn’t stomach the thought of being treated like that by such a hostile and awful man.
I normally don’t write reviews but every time I drive by this place or any location in Knoxville I am reminded of this terrible experience I had with none other but the general manager.
I love good customer service and I hope this helps.
