I was waiting to leave this review until I reached my goal weight, but I got there and it’s because of the trainers at Odyssey Fitness. They gave me nutrition advice and a simple plan to follow, I just had to make the choice to stick to it. Everyone here at Odyssey Fitness is amazing!! The workouts are appropriately challenging and never boring. Staff is very supportive but also helps push you to your potential which I love (and need!). I initially joined Odyssey because I needed to lose weight and could no longer run, due to an injury. I have never done personal training, and I have never lifted weights in my life. (I used to think that lifting weights was something only bodybuilders enjoyed.) I have now been attending Odyssey for over a year, and not only do I feel more confident, but I love knowing that I am investing in my future self, improving my mental health and strengthening my bones and muscles. The trainers are excellent, and they work hard to customize the workouts and help us get – and stay – healthy and strong. I had no idea that a month trial at Odyssey Fitness would have such a profound impact on my physical and mental health.

I have spinal stenosis as well as arthritis in my spine and hips.-the pain was increasing despite months of physical therapy and eating a low inflammatory diet. Injectables were the next proposed pain management option but I just wasn’t ready to go there ( nothing wrong with it just want to save that option).
I am 44y/o and was in a funk that my body was degenerating but I also wanted to give my body the benefit of the doubt. I knew that building muscle around the affected areas was going to be key to my treatment.

I lacked accountability with home workouts and never pushed myself. I had a traditional gym membership and used cardio equipment but felt uncomfortable with the heavy equipment: More accurately was Intimidated by the weight room even though I dabbled in strength training, 1:1 sessions, and CrossFit over the years.

Odyssey’s approach is so direct that there is no space for worry or insecurity. They walk you through each exercise and monitor form & output. It is great for someone like me that appreciates technique focused movement and still challenging for someone who is more experienced. They work with all ages and levels of proficiency but really specialize in 40+ club.

Three months in and I feel stronger, leaner, and most importantly, my back and hip pain is minimal and no longer impacting my daily functioning!

I have been working out at Odyssey Fitness in Nolensville for 7 months. Their small group fitness classes are amazing. The smaller class sizes mean you get lots of attention from the trainers, which is perfect for anyone, whether you're just starting out or have been working out for years.

The workouts are challenging, and I’ve seen a big difference in my strength and endurance since I started. Everyone is very encouraging, and it feels more like working out with friends than just another gym class.

I began Odyssey Fitness one year ago as a 71st Birthday present to myself. I was gaining weight and losing strength. A few years ago I tried another gym - too intense, blasting music, members way younger than me, and I didn’t like getting yelled at to go faster and faster. Saw the ad for Odyssey. I particularly liked it was for folks over 40. I may be one of the oldest members, but the groups and I have more in common. So where am I after a year? Down 22 pounds, muscle mass and strength increasing. I feel younger and healthier. Is it hard work? Sure, but it is individually adjusted to my needs. If one exercise is causing an issue, the staff makes changes. Finally, it is good to know the staff have masters degrees in this field and years of experience that makes for a great training experience. Can’t recommend these folks enough.

I have plans to travel a lot after my sons graduate from college, but I worried that I physically wouldn't be able to. I knew exercise would help me, but I couldn't stay motivated. After finding out that Odyssey Fitness focuses on people who are over 40, I decided to give it a try.

I'm excited to say that I've been working out regularly for a year and a half now! I can tell that my strength and endurance are much better, and I'm sleeping better too.

While we have to work hard during class and I complain while I'm there, I really do enjoy it. Ethan pushes us, but he makes sure that we aren't doing anything that could cause us to get hurt.

Before finding Odyssey Fitness, I could never find a program that worked for me. I could lose a ton of weight on crash diets and workout routines but once the diet ended or the workouts got boring, I just gained back all lost weight and then some. Earlier this year I had reach my highest weight ever and just felt tired and worn out all the time.

I learned about Odyssey Fitness from a good friend. I read Ethan’s description of his program and who it is for on the website and it was like he wrote it just for me because it described exactly where I felt I was and what I wanted. The small group workouts are setup for me and where I am in my progression, they are varied enough that they don’t get boring and the people in the groups are fun to be around and workout with. I used to run 10k events and was fit but then diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my late 30s. At that point I struggled as I could not longer run, which I loved, and felt discouraged. Before starting with Odyssey Fitness, i was trying to go about my fitness journey on my own. I tried to motivate myself and do my own workouts at home. After months of always making up excuses for why I “couldn’t” workout that day, I decided I needed to physically go somewhere with someone showing me what to do and how to do things correctly. I needed a strong group of accountability partners to help me focus on my goals and work towards reaching them. Our company partners with Odyssey Fitness and offers strength classes several times a week through Odyssey. I wanted to start attending these classes but felt I needed some instruction on how to exercise safely and effectively. Ethan suggested two private sessions each week for 8 weeks. This was a challenge for me because I hadn't exercised regularly for over a decade. Ethan and his staff worked with me and slowly increased the intensity of the workouts over the eight weeks. I'm much stronger now and notice it in my every day life. Lifting heavy things is easier (like my camping gear). My flexibility has also improved so picking things up or getting down on the floor to work on things is less of a chore. With moving to Nolensville from out of state, I lost my workout routine and support of trained fitness professionals, so I’m excited to have found Odyssey Fitness. Ethan, Emily, and the team do a phenomenal job supporting me where I’m at physically and what I need to do to achieve my goals. They utilize technology like MyZone and InBody, so I have objective feedback on the effectiveness of my workouts and the impact on my body composition/health.
