It’s not horrible. The machines work good, the 360 area could use more space and the carpet in the locker rooms needs to be re-done. They also don’t have a trainer which is part of what you pay for with your black card membership. It’s been that way for months now.

Great place for a quick workout. The only thing I would address is the bathroom, at least the men's, smells so ungodly bad it's difficult to change clothes or relax for a minute before leaving. Let's try an air freshener at a minimum. There's always some type of leak in the roof and a bucket somewhere on the floor, what seems, at all times.

Price is great, equipment is decent, and amenities are good. The negatives are slow equipment and facilities repairs. (Examle: water fountain has had hot water for over a month, certain equipment stays broken, etc.) Over crowded at peak times as well, but I suppose that's good for business.

The female working this morning refused to let my friend workout today. She said that because Hixson is the home gym she needed to get a special barcode and call corporate for it. I've had a black card membership for 2 years now and just cancelled. I've never tried out the tanning beds however, I brought my newly wedded wife in as a guest and asked if she could try out the tanning beds as she was considering membership. The staff were polite however, they said there was no way that she could tan one time to see if she wanted to get a membership. I think this was a bad corporate policy as the opportunity for an additional membership was available along with keeping mine as I have only ever used the massage tables.
Update: We went by 24/7 fitness afterwards and they let my wife try out the tanning bed before we agreed upon membership.

As people may need to hear this first things first very clean environment and many work out machines available. Some of the staff is friendly as to other's may not be but that is everywhere you go now a days. I highly recommended Planet Fitness cause they have many opportunities for you to have a trainer, good quality of exercise equipment and they also have pretty decent locker rooms and showers for you available after your workout. That is why they deserve a five star rating as a great quality environment.

The equipment is decently new since the remodel and it appears to be everything you need, the only machine we have to fight over is the pec fly bc there is only one . The locker rooms are nice BUT Idk what kind of shower heads they use but they are HORRIBLE the water doesn’t get hot enough and those faux shower heads make it hard to shower with pretty much 0 pressure. I mean we come to work out the shower is a bonus , but it would be nice if they fixed this issue. Massage chairs really suck although those hydro massage tables are the bomb. Kinda weird we got a skinny hippie dude as a trainer and not an in shape work out enthusiast he’s not horrible he’s pretty cool. If you’re there to work out it’s a great clean facility, I would just fix those few quirks.

Worked out here for 3 yrs. with a $99 a year membership and was grandfathered in each year keeping same price and account with no issues. Today I found out that they have went up on price for annual member ship form $99 to $199 and changed it where my $99 membership is no longer grandfathered in as I was informed it would be when membership was started 3 yrs. ago. I can add an extra $10 a month and get a YMCA membership and have better workout equipment, basketball court, pool & sauna.

music is too loud. It's like they do it on purpose because they want you to leave. Everyone has earplugs or headphones anyways. The pullup assist machine is not good, it's the weird version. This could be a great gym if they get better equipment and turn the volume down. The hours are good, but the night staff is rude and weird, so it's not worth it to go in the evening anyways. There are two free fitness centers and a great park system to visit, which are all free. Why would you want to pay $25 a month when they make it inhospitable in the evening, which is the only reason you would join and they play the music so loud. It's like their selling an advertisement for working out, but they don't actually want people to use the gym. Also, the bathrooms always smell. The toilets don't flush or they never clean them regularly enough. Just got poop wading in there.

Very clean and well kept. Great floor/machine setup too. Jacob was the attendant this evening and had the restroom looking immaculate. He was also friendly, a rarity for most planet fitness locations. The restroom was great with soap in the showers, but handles on the sinks suck. Planet needs to just use regular handles, you end up wasting more water having to press it a million times and frustrate the members trying to simply wash their hands.

If I could give you zero stars I would! I have been out of the gym for months now and my daughter wanted to try it out so we came to planet fitness ! I have always been a huge supporter of planet fitness until today! As of today I will never a customer of yours ,I will never recommend one person to your gym, you will never get my support again… I was on leg curls and I usually do 90 lbs but like I said I have been out of the game for a while and I came in and worked myself up to 50lbs … second set a employee came over and tells me I am making to much noise with a machine… and I need to add more weight bc im making noise and I can be quite or leave the gym! ARE YOU SERIOUS? You would rather me hurt myself by lifting heavier then I am ready for then minding your own business ? I’ve had the worst experience here as of yesterday I’ve asked and waited I know 6 months now on when bulbs are gonna be changed And it’s either I don’t know or when we get the funding like there having trouble getting the funding but there not having trouble taking my 25.57 a month out my account on 17th every month I really hate talking about planet fitness cause all around I’ve had great experience there besides these last six months on the bulbs I know they used to change them every 3 or 4 months tops it’s ridiculous now! I got in bed 4 yesterday and counted 9 bulbs out and I’m not blaming crew members I’m blaming mgmt id close the bed off before I’d send my customers paying for a higher grade membership into a bed almost half lit!!!

I'm an OTR driver, I frequent planet fitness all over the nation and never have I experienced anything like I did when I visited the facility on Mother's Day, May 12, 2024. The morning staff Sadie, and Becca were amazing and very kind made me and my coworker feel welcomed. We worked out, used the massage chairs, and showers they even let my coworker use the fridge to put her sealed protein drink inside since it was luke warm. Everything was fine up until the night shift came in. I called it a day after a long day of working out. My codriver a vip black card membership holder, stayed behind to get some work done on her computer. She had previously asked Sadie and Becca if she can use the small table and chairs that were in a secluded area they said it was ok no problem. After a while she calls me saying that the night staff, Christian and Andrea called the police on her because they didn't want her sitting there and she needed to leave if she wasn't using the facility. Keep in mind there were only 3 people in there including herself. She told them that she had worked out all afternoon and was taking a break doing some work, wifi is included with the membership therefore she was using the facility. They said no, and proceeded to call the police. The police came they were in confusion themselves to why she was being kicked out for sitting. Christian (long hair guy) claiming to be the night supervisor/personal trainer, then told the police that he was banning us from the establishment and that we had to leave. It was the most appalling moment of my life, never have I encountered this type of discrimination over nothing, to the extend of even getting banned. I dont know what kind of power trip this person was on but that's not how customers should be treated. We are  hard working latina moms, working far away from home even on Mother's Day to provide for our families and getting banned over nothing it's just uncalled for. At the end of our long shifts all we want to do is work out to stay fit on the road, shower, and rest. These type of  prejudice minds shouldn't be, behind a counter at a non judgemental free zone gym. It's false advertising, and based on the reviews I'm not the only one. Further action needs to be taken upon.

Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about my experiences with Planet Fitness. I own a trucking company and often times am traveling all across the United States. I rely on Planet Fitness to stay in shape, a nice warm shower along with the other amenities to help improve my quality of life and work life balance while on the road.

How is it possible to talk to the manager if at the first dialogue you immediately threaten to call the police? Although I am a calm and adequate person. They talked as if I was a criminal with a machine gun and threatening someone.And these comments lead to nothing. The manager knows my phone number let him contact me. There are a lot of good gyms in Cleveland where you can come with your own little extra equipment, which won’t hurt anyone (kind of ab wheel ) and they’ll treat you like a person. I've traveled halfway through Europe, but I've never met such boors as here anywhere. Find a good gym and enjoy the training process. all sporting achievements for everybody!

I think I understand which Britney has described in comments. Today when I used a special squat board, which is not part of the equipment, although such a thing is available in any decent gym. My account was reset and they didn’t want to return the money I paid last week for this month. Although other members of the gym also used their equipment (for example, huge bags, gloves and various other things), the administrator clung to me and for a small piece of wood that did not cause any inconvenience to anyone. When I tried to calmly and politely find out who I was bothering, they threatened to call the police, as if I were some kind of criminal. I have never seen such an inadequate reaction to a small misunderstanding. I highly do not recommend this gym!!!
