Planet Fitness’ membership and cancelation policy is designed to target high risk populations. While it looks like a great deal for gym membership, the likelihood that you will end up paying way more than you’d pay for a high end gym, they’ll get you in late fees and perpetual auto-renewals unless you jump through hoops that are often insurmountable for their target population. Customer service at this club is top notch. Darren is incredible. Despite the Planet Fitness app being completely useless, he was able to help me with my request and even called me back a couple of days later to follow up on it. I have to transfer locations due to move but I’m sad to leave this location. Clean and hospitable. PF corporate, do better with your online services though.

The management wasn't able to issue me a refund for a frozen membership renewal that I received no reminder for via email or text. I realize she doesn't make the policy, but this sort of business practice is unethical and another sign of predatory capitalism at work in the nation.
Further, Planet Fitness makes it unnecessarily inconvenient to cancel a membership by requiring a person to show up to the location to do so. Any consideration for those who may have moved or are without reliable transportation? NOPE.
Until PF begins being more customer-friendly and less into extracting every last penny from members, I won't be returning or recommending to friends. Profits over people isn't sitting well with most Americans anymore. Do better corporate!

I bought the promotion that they have in bold letters $0 down and 24.99 monthly. I paid for it and now with less than a month of having this membership, I can no longer use the gym because I need to pay 24.99. I got the membership 11/2/24 today is the 20th. I'm fine with pro rating but it needs to be clear when buying the membership. Now I'm trying to cancel my membership and I can't find a way to cancel it through the app. So now I have to write a letter to them to cancel or go to my home gym in person to cancel. Even tho I'm a state a way from it right now.

(Hixson location)This is probably the best facility in Chattanooga compared to 2 others in the vicinity. What breaks seems to get fixed rather quickly. Cleaner than most, and typically friendly.
We have been working on this side of town for a few months, so we have been coming here rather than the one close to home.

Clean and well equipped, but didn’t get to use the gym. I had both of my kids (12/14) with me and got turned away due to only allowing one guest on the black pass. Asking for one to just be with me and not use the equipment was too much apparently.

Follow up: The owner reply pretty much says all I needed to hear. I won’t be back to this location. I’m sure that doesn’t matter though. 🥂

An extra privacy curtain for a shower stall is nice, but the shower is barely warm! Turn up shower temperature, please. I was freezing after taking shower. Perhaps little more cleaning will be needed during and after busy time.

I can't really give a whole review as all I have encountered is their custom service, or lack there of. I bought my daughter a membership and she wanted me to come as her guest. Mainly I was interested in their tanning beds and massage chairs. I asked about using them and they told me that's only for members. That's fine if that's their policy. But the completely uninterested attitude of the girls at the front seems odd to me. I probably would have just bought a membership to try them since my daughter is already going there. But no other help was offered and I was immediately dismissed. I suppose I don't fit the profile of their typical customer. Or maybe they have so much business trying to recruit new members is not part of their training.

I really like this PF compared to the one in Chattanooga (Perimeter Dr). A bit further, but well worth the extra drive.

Has equipment and machines the others don't have, even being a smaller PF building. The employees we have met are friendly and absolutely do a faaaar better job of keeping it clean and organized. The one in Chattanooga is always filthy dirty, veeery unorganized, untidy, and many cleaning stations are always out of paper towels.

The only issue we had is that the employees could not help us with the WiFi password, though we are blackcard members. So, we had to use our data which is spotty inside to play our music ap.

The company has an umbrella policy of allowing biological men who identify as women use women's locker rooms and showers. This is not a safe space for women this put women in danger. Great place to work out, love the tanning facilities, total body is the best too. Very clean they are on top of any problem you may have. The gym is fine, I guess. The staff is very friendly, and it has what I need for the most part. There are A TON of treadmills, bikes, etc that are always unused, and 4 squat and bench racks, seems like more of those would be beneficial, but it is what it is. They are money hungry though. A $59 startup fee, I mean what does that even mean??? come on now, super unnecessary since they also charge a $49 annual fee. Sure, they are up front about it, and it isn't a surprise, but it seems rather excessive. And I haven't experienced this personally, but there are a LOT of reviews, as well as, friends of mine stating how difficult it is to get out of a membership. My guess is they make it so difficult because of how money hungry they are.
If this gym was not a 2 minute drive from my place, I would be looking elsewhere.

if i could give 0 stars i would. this is my first ever review. DO NOT COME HERE. i’ve cancelled my membership TWICE and am still getting charged. i moved to Murfreesboro and called to cancel my membership when i noticed i was still getting charged. i would like to preface i didn’t know they couldn’t do it over the phone.

the girl i talked to said she could do it over the phone and said she got it cancelled. i was like awesome this is great…until i saw i was still getting charged about 2 months later.

so i called again they said oh we can’t do it over the phone you need to come to your home planet fitness. i drive 100+ MILES, signed my signature and cancelled it. Few months later IM STILL BEING CHARGED.

So i call again they were very rude and said they didn’t believe me and that i needed to come in and cancel.

So tonight I drive again 100+ miles to cancel my membership and get my money back and no one could help me. the guy behind the counter was rude and there was no manager there… are you kidding me ? why would there not be a manager on the floor at an establishment.

I’ve called HR i’ve called and spoke to managers I’ve tried everything to get my stupid membership cancelled. I’m having to get a hotel tonight since apparently a manager won’t be back until tomorrow morning so i’m pissed. i want my money back i want a full refund and my membership to be permanently cancelled because i’m never coming back and no one else should come here either unless you want to be continuously robbed.

I like the place. It’s clean, nice rest rooms, great equipment that’s easy to use and plenty of it. I can get there, workout, do the message chair, recliner, or water message and be on my way easily. I don’t do the tanning bed thing, but they have ‘em if you want ‘em. I’d recommend Planet Fitness to anyone wanting to get some exercise, lose weight or just tone up a bit. I checked around and it’s the best price I found for what you get with a membership. I wish they had a lifetime membership one time price.

I highly DO NOT recommend Planet Fitness. They do not cancel your membership when you request it. I went in over a year ago and asked to cancel it. They told me it was taken care of but it wasn’t. I had dealt with family loss and a lot going on so it took me a while to go back since they won’t cancel by phone and they told me they will still bill me another month. That’s just ridiculous. It should cancel when I cancel. I highly doubt they will stop charging my card. I’ll never join another Planet Fitness again.

I don't often leave negative commentary but this warrants it. My niece had a membership with PF that she utilized often until she was diagnosed with cancer. She simply wanted to pause her membership while she underwent rigorous treatment and they wouldn't allow it. She had to buy out the remainder of her contract and they even went as far as to charge her for an extra month. Deplorable.
