The tanning beds are always broke or burned out bulbs. There is currently one flat bed and stand up bed to use. It has been months since this became a problem. Staff and management are aware. I pay for a black card membership. I have been there for 8 years. I use the tanning bed and this is unacceptable.

They really do a great job running this gym. Its very high volume at times but its clean, the bathrooms look good, the trash is always taken care of. I never see any equipment in disarray or disrepair, and the location is phenomenal. I always look forward to stopping by.

These people are crooks. I was charged a yearly membership years after my wife cancelled the account. They charged me $45 August 22 so I called and told them I was charged I wanted a refund they said no I’d have to eat it but the district manager assured me I would never be charged again well that was a lie. They tried to charge me the same amount again but they tried to hide it by breaking it up into two payments two months later October 1st. one for 25 and the other for 20 is pending so I called back and talked to a manager and they said couldn’t do nothing call district manager tomorrow so I did and the district manager said noting we can do and hung up on me. She proceeded to block my number.Planet Fitness is robing people and won’t let them take there card off file so today is October 17 2025 we will see what my credit card company can do cause I had to get them involved. So we shall see how they talk there selves out and a fraudulent charge . Do not go to planet fitness unless you want your credit card charged against your will. I will update this post after I hear back from my credit card company as I do not expect they will ever call me back or try to say there sorry as a company for there maryville TN location. Hope this will save someone else from being robbed in the future. God Bless !!

Is it normal for guys to just hang out in the locker room and stare at each other? Okay i'm from FL. I just moved here. The young people here just sit in the locker room and hang out and talk about anxiety and a d h d and what kind of diet they're on and flexing their muscles in the mirror. This gym is probably one of the dirtiest one I have seen, I have address the employees in several occasions and nothing,no one seems to care,the showers are full of mold and pink bacteria, it's been like that for more than 2 months, there is barely any water pressure at the shower,last night the smell of urine in the mens bathroom was unbearable.
If the owner of this gym reads this "I dare you take a shower on your gym!"

All hand cleaners I tried today were empty

Pad on pull up machine completely torn (been this way for well over a month now)

I find the gym it self very good, clean, friendly and knowledgeable employees. My complaint is the few people who have no concept of courtesy with regards to equipment. I have seen people on a piece of equipment for 30 to 45 minutes with the majority of that time either on there phone or talking with someone while people are waiting to use said equipment. Please people work out or let someone who wants to use it

Planet Fitness is a great fitness center for those looking for a clean, friendly atmosphere. There is a large variety of fitness and aerobic equipment. I personally enjoy loud music and the old-school meathead environment. However, when I'm traveling, there is nothing better than to be able to workout at the local Planet Fitness.

This place saved my life! Excellent staff, family like! All are very personable! It’s a judgement free zone forreal! All fellow gym goers know eachother & cheer eachother on! You’ll feel right at home immediately! One of the best planet fitnesses I’ve ever been to! Manager here goes above & beyond! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a gym in the area! It’s a clean gym with great people & equipment. What more can you ask for. It’s crowded in the mornings like most gyms because people love it. The workout area is ok. The mens showers, changing rooms and toilet stalls are absolutely disgusting and unsafe. I have asked multiple times for them to please clean them regularly but they will not do it. I know for a fact weeks go by with NO cleaning. They smell horrible and are absolutely filthy! When shower grout turns red the bacteria has gone up to a whole new level. I hope this review changes things!

I previously gave this place a better rating. I have cancelled my membership since learning about planet fitness' replaced locker room stance. Planet fitness endorses the mentally insane allowing men to be in the women's locker room and visa versa. Planet fitness' "no judgement" goes too far with this liberal Target™ stance. I came here as a firefighter knowing that planet fitness gives military and emergency services personnel a hefty discount. If you're a conservative minded person you should not support this franchise in any form. Men are men, women are women. One cannot be the other and either should never be permitted in the others designated place of privacy, dressing room, shower room/bathing area. Locations that are designated to one sex ought to be restricted to the genetic sex of the respective individual/individuals.

They completely revamped all the machines and TOOK OUT THE 30 MINUTE WORKOUT! The new machines require separate weight pulling on your arms. SO BAD FOR MY ROTATOR CUFFS. I've been asking for months for them to clean the ladies room and showers. They always have excuses. Today the staff, Kyle actually ROLLED HER EYES AT ME, when I spoke to her about this. Please, please, please consider opening a second location in the Maryville/Alcoa TN area! I completely stopped going because of the suffocating amount of people and lack of appropriate amounts of free weight benches, cable machines, and smith machines for the size of the gym and the area serviced.I have mostly enjoyed my time there but dang. I’m a full time nurse and a full time graduate student. I do not have the time to stand around and wait for equipment. It has progressively gotten more crowded over the last 3 years and it doesn’t seem to be tapering off soon.
