Today, September 14, 2025, marks the second time the facility is closed on a Sunday morning. It's quite frustrating, especially when you pay for a membership. Additionally, someone made the questionable decision to move the 30-minute equipment from the designated 30-minute zone to the middle of the floor. This change doesn’t make any sense.

I used to have a membership a few years ago and cancelled but came back a month ago and was extremely impressed with the updates. The weight machines have counters on them. They’ve gotten more of the popular machines and the way the reorganized the spaces is nice. I only ever go in morning so I can only comment on morning staff but they are always friendly, welcoming, and helping maintain the gym. The cleanliness is great too. Just wish there were a few more treadmills but this is overall a great gym.

I moved into the Midtown area only a few months ago. I was driving 30 minutes away to the PF location I was familiar with. However, I recently decided to go to the PF 1 mile from my new home. I'm really happy I did. Thanks for making me feel welcome.

It is alright... I do not know who would want to tan more than be massaged - but apparently there is a market for such, as there are more tanning areas than (I just worked out - my body is sore - let me relax) massaging apparatuses 🤔 But this is for the site at Poplar/Avalon. Not very clean or well stocked, could be set up better, missing some key machines, but biggest complaint is the unfriendly, always on their phone aloof staff. Never a smile, remarry a hello-I’d settle for a nod…especially the short black guy always at midtown- I’m there 3-4 days a week for 3 years, never said a word or even looked in my general direction. I say hello and smile and help EVERY customer that comes in my store. Takes ZERO effort to be polite

I visited this location about a year ago. I was thinking about going again but decided to check the reviews first. I see nothing has changed here other than more bad reviews. I think I'll pass....
I do have a question for whoever responds to these reviews.
Why is it our (the customer) responsibility to address issues with management? Management should already know about these issues if they are doing their job. A missing shower curtain, showers that haven't been cleaned in weeks or broken & faulty fixtures are things management should already know about from doing a daily walk through. At this point, corporate should be replacing management for allowing these issues to go unanswered for months if not years.
I'll end my rant by asking my question again. Why is it the customers responsibility to speak to management at the club concerning these issues?

I’m not a gym rat, going to Planet Fitness on Poplar a couple of times a week has strengthened my core and strengthened my muscles. But the best part is the Hydro beds. I had a knot in my back I didn’t even know I had. OMG 3 or 4 sessions and it is gone

Great gym sketchy parking, the security vehicle turn around your car until you get out.
Huge showers but no hook inside or bench or anything to put your soap, shampoo on, who designed those places?

Planet Fitness on Poplar is the best! The staff is so friendly and welcoming and the gym has been recently renovated with state of the art equipment and revamped Black Card Spa amenities .All this for less than $30 per month ( if you factor the $49 yearly fee) and I can work out at any Planet Fitness and bring as many guests as I want ( after I send them an invitation link…which is a bit of a pain but you only have to do it once). Now I can workout with a different workout buddy every time I go the gym! Genius!

My wife and I always walk in to a greeting and a warm smile. While nursing a back injury I used the massage chairs and the water therapy bed continuously while my wife did her normal workout routine and the staff never acted as if I was bothering them by asking to use it numerous times and Kyler, that guy is awesome! Always helpful, he and I are both Army veterans and when my wife or I go alone, he asked how the other is. Great guy, great staff, great place!

I used to love coming to the midtown location on Poplar because it was open during very convenient hours. Now the hours barely even exist. Most people work from 8-10am - 3-6pm. After work most people have kids, after achool activities, and still have to cook supper for their family on top of all that. Not every single night but nearly. It is hard to do all that stuff then bust my butt to make it up there in enough time before it closes to actually get any use out of my membership. If it was open just open until 12am, that would be extremely helpful! Please consider changing things for people that have jobs and families and don't get up at 4 am

So I think that the staff doesn't handle situations very fairly. They don't investigate the matter, rather they just go along with what one party says and pass judgment based on that. Furthermore, to put in a false complaint on someone to the staff just because I rejected you is a form of harassment. You shouldn't punish people for not desiring you, it's immature. And the staff should question both parties not just simply set limitations on someone based on one person's word. That's not fair nor is it just. And then try to make it seem like it's a number of people complaining when it's only just one person is wrong as well. And trying to make it seem like the complaint wasn't put in the same day that you set the limitations is a lie too. If I were really making people feel like their lives were in danger for an extended period of time like you suggest then why let 5 or 6 weeks go by without taking action. How crazy do you think I am. I hurt one man's ego by not returning his interest and the staff sets limits on me. I literally mind my own business in there. Refusing to pay some man attention is not a crime. I never intimidated anybody, one man suffered a little disappointment is all. A man afraid of a woman, who ever heard of that anyways. Try to investigate a little more in the future and try not to be so led astray. If the news caught wind of this, it would be their top story especially with how the world turns today.

The gym was closed for renovation for 6 weeks, but it has now been 8 weeks and it is still not open. The issue is that they do not communicate the situation, leaving customers unaware. I had to visit the gym myself to confirm that it is still undergoing renovation. Meanwhile, they continue to charge fees without providing information. Furthermore, they insist that cancellations must be made in person at the gym where the membership was initiated. This lack of professionalism is a waste of time and money.

I attend the club in Midtown in Memphis. They closed it fir remodeling 6 weeks ago, saying it will reopen in mid-December. It is appraising approach the end of December and it is no where near ready. It looks like the club/owner would email people to let us know when it will open, or at least with the status. Not a good way to treat customers who pay to be members.
