Im rating with this score because when I went today, the ceiling fans were not turned on. Yes, it was 42 degrees outside, but people inside get hot and sweaty indoors while working out. I went to the counter and asked the young lady if the ceiling fans could be turned on or was it their policy not to turn them on this time of year. She tried to explain that it’s colder this time of year and they don’t turn the fans on, as she stood there in her North Face jacket. I told her that doesn’t make sense because people in here are working out, getting hot and sweaty. I understand that she was cold, but the gym temperature should be set to meet customers’ needs. She informed me that several other customers had asked her to turn on the fans too. It seemed she did not know what to do or how to turn it on either. I called the PF on Church St. and was told their fans are running at about 4%. The young man told me that didn’t make sense that the fans weren’t on. Guess I will chat with the manager tomorrow. Other than this, I would rate Ild Fort Parkway PF with a 5 because the weekly staff are super friendly, the facility indoor temperature is usually nice and cool for working out, and they’re always cleaning!

If you ever think the old fort one is dirty you are wrong. I go at night a lot because I work third shift so it’s easier for me on my off days to just stay up. Those guys clean from top to bottom they really do more than what you think they go above and beyond. He was sweating harder than me which he was moving all the treadmills and cleaning underneath them all. Love this location great staff night and day.

This Planet Fitness is less “gym” and more “dumpster fire with treadmills.” I work out six days a week, and in all my years of gym hopping, I have never… I repeat, never been told I couldn’t work out because of my footwear. But today, an employee decided to live out their main-character moment by stopping me in the lobby to declare my shoes unworthy of the sacred purple carpet.

Now, apparently this rule exists somewhere in the fine print… buried deeper than the Ark of the Covenant, but somehow, my “offensive” shoes have been perfectly acceptable for hundreds of past workouts.

So instead of training shoulders, I got to sit in the lobby like a sad mall dad, watching my fiancé work out, counting five other people in “non-compliant” footwear who went completely unnoticed. One of them literally had to be escorted out with a walker. But sure — I’m the safety hazard.

When I asked why the rule was enforced selectively, I was met with the corporate classic: “That’s our policy.” No explanation. No consistency. Just the blank stare of someone who’s been spiritually replaced by their phone.
Listen, I get it — footwear policies exist for a reason. But let’s be real: this is Planet Fitness, not the CrossFit Games. I’m not flipping tractor tires or sprinting up Mount Doom. I’m doing shoulder day. The only thing I was at risk of spraining was my patience.

The staff? Picture people who treat the word “helpful” as a personal insult. They enforce rules with all the zeal of a mall cop and all the accuracy of a stormtrooper. Half the time, they don’t even look up from their phones long enough to notice anyone breaking those rules unless, of course, it’s me and my scandalous footwear.

In short: if there were literally any other gym in town, go there. You’ll get better service, better vibes, and fewer power-tripping employees pretending their purple polos grant them divine authority.

Planet Fitness markets itself as “Judgment-Free.” Ironic, considering I’ve never felt more judged by someone holding a barcode scanner.

Perfect gym for me. Open 24 hrs and bot very busy later at night. Good variety of machines and weights. Open floor space for stretching and self made work outs. The back room with tanning and various massage machines has been worth ot for after a good workout.

The shower rooms and bathrooms are nasty at 5 am which means the night shift ain’t clean a darn thing . Why is bathroom nasty at the top of the day. How can u promote healthy and healing in filth ? Please clean the bathrooms timely before day starts . It’s not a good look and planet fitness wants the money and charge late fees but bathroom is nasty. Yesterday paper and water marks . Ugh 😩

Here in town for a few weeks I’ve been working out roughly 2 weeks now wearing my birk sandals ; for some reason after 14 days it’s become an issue. The worse part is I was mid rotation into my new PR. This girl tracked me down within the gym after 30 minutes, nothing else to do I guess ? How about cleaning the gym. Along with not trying to sell snacks under the table via cash only.

Somewhere somehow there’s a pf review I wrote that wasn’t flattering? So wanted to set the record straight and give a shout out to my favorite workers. Mariah always very welcoming, William with his protein bar recommendations, and Michelle super nice. And the church st crew, Chloe is awesome and has been consistent over the years, Sophia super cool showing me around, and can’t remember the personal trainer name but dude is awesome specially when I had trouble with the app.

So I use PF for their tanning. I travel all over the country for work so it’s convenient between that and the showers, I will say this location has some of the nicest beds I’ve seen on the east coast. However some of you people need to do better. Between the garbage left behind by some of y’all and the fact that it seems most of you don’t have courtesy to wipe the beds down after yourself is appalling. I’m glad I travel with my own antibacterial wipes. Do better people. You have some of the nicest equipment treat it better peasants.

Call me goofy but massage chairs that are activated from the front desk side rather than coins made me go from a back ache to no ache or little ache. I know a gym is more than just a massage chair, but this was pain relief at the spot and the best 10 mins in my life. Gym is empty after midnight which is something I always prefer.

This is the club in my city but today I had an issue with a new worker called (John Lyons) he was so rude to me and because of that I didn't work out there. I was trying to check in at the front disk with one of my kids as usual, then he asked me to approve that my son is 13 years or older.. I told him that I've been here many times with my son and no one asked me that. He said it's the rules. I told him then let my boy sit on the table while I'm working out and he refused to let me in.
Because of what he did I will change my rate for this location. They have bad staff.

It’s a super friendly environment at Planet Fitness.. The staff are always kind and willing to engage with clients also .. There is ton of cardio equipment that are up to date and ready to be used .. Planet fitness seems to have the best area for working on your core too… The” 3O min. workout “ area is definitely a go to when you’re on a tight schedule.

Visiting from out of town, Saturday around 3:00 p.m. was not too busy, plenty of parking but I suspect on a weekday night it's packed. Two staff on duty, neither were walking around, Checking the bathrooms, dusting, cleaning, filling up cleaning supplies. Female was on her phone when I was looking over a few times. Musics is not too loud, fans moving in the correct direction, overall the place appeared to be clean but you still have to stay on top of it 24/7 and they were not.

Did the old fort pkwy 45 lb plates got stolen? There isn’t enough. I counted 24 plates of 45lbs. Now divide that with a 5 squat section and a leg press. Unless you cater to all female how is that number not low? Please rectify. I’d be more than happy to compare the Smyrna and church street one. This is an all right planet fitness location. There are a few signs of age and wear and tear around the gym, but overall it's well maintained and I didn't notice any equipment that was out of commission. The front desk guy was friendly enough welcoming.

Unfortunately, there is something wrong with the duct system or the AC unit that is causing a foghorn like sound that can be heard throughout the gym constantly. If this were my local planet fitness location, I would have a hard time choosing it for membership until that is fixed. I feel like the sound is great fodder for headaches, and it is certainly annoying. I don't know when I might pass by this location again, but hopefully it is something they plan to repair.
